It's decent. Been here twice and both times sat out in the garden out back which is a really nice place to have dinner. Their wait staff though has got to get it together. We were told they were out of the mozarella appetizer, so we ordered a different one. As we were waiting, the mozarella appetizer came out to our table. Hmm ok. We decided to still keep the second (grilled seafood) -- but a SECOND mozarella appetizer came out in the meantime. Two different waiters seemed to compete to take our order (at the same time). It was confusing and weird. As for the food: Grilled Seafood Appetizer: Pretty good, but only 2 pieces of shrimp? Gnocchi w/mozarella: Meh. Tasted soggy/soupy Eggplant Appetizer: Tastes store bought (I'm very picky with eggplant - Forcella btw, has one of the best) Lamb Ragu Pasta: Decent - but not as good as Il Passatore Bread: Yummy. read more

Stopped by this place before a party in Williamsburg. Delish! The garden seating area was cute, and basil plants growing around it smelled absolutely delicious. The service was 3/5 (couldn't find the waiter a few times) but he was knowledgeable about the menu, wines and helpful with refilling my wine glass. Always a plus! The food was fresh, and pizza was delicious. Definitely would go back, if I'm ever in the area. read more

Stumbled upon Baci & Abbracci with two of my friends. We couldn't find somewhere to watch the FIFA match, and luckily when we arrived, there were seats in front of the television. We were there in time for brunch (ends at 4pm) so we ordered some $5 mimosas (they have flavored ones, like passionfruit). We ordered the cheese plate to start -- comes with an interesting parmesan mousse, which wasn't my favorite, but it was unique. One of my friends ordered the pancakes, which comes with 3 pancakes, bananas, and strawberries. He wasn't blown away and thought they were okay. My other friend ordered the pizza bianca which comes with mozzarella, ricotta, sausage, and mushrooms. We both loved her pizza. It was packed with flavor. I ordered the pasta carbonara -- which was okay. It was on the bland side for me and needed more depth of flavor. Now, the service. I won't complain, because it was the FIFA final match. It was super slow and we did have to seek out the server for drink refills, etc. But, there was an exciting match on that they wanted to watch too. I can't hate. All hail FIFA! Great atmosphere. Intimate and casual. Incredibly affordable and great portions. read more

Italian is always one of my favorite cuisines and it's not to find a very good and not too pricey. Baci is one of the better than average one. My husband and I have been there twice and they were good enough. I'd say the pasta was always a bit too bland to my taste. My husband loves pizza and he did not think their pizzas were memorable but didn't complain either. They have a garden in the back and so it is nicer to sit on that area. The front area is a bit too moderate I think. Well I guess their ambience is not as cozy as I like. read more

How have I never even noticed this spot? We heard about the nice outdoor area (it was nice) but decided to eat indoors due to the sticky summer night. My only point deduction is for the ambiance of the indoor area. It felt a bit cold/hard, with an upscale cafeteria sort of vibe. Beet & Goat cheese salad to split to start - scrumptious. Spinach Ravioli with a perfectly creamy cheese sauce. Cavetelli with Broccoli Rabe & Sausage - yummy! I'd say it has some stiff competition (atmosphere) with Fiore just down the street, but would certainly be up for trying 2 new dishes on a cool summer evening. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times in the past and it's always been consistent in its service and food. The servers have always seated me promptly and they are quick to address my needs (i.e. refilling my water glasses or giving me my check). My boyfriend is a huge fan of the beet & arugula goat cheese gnocchi and I'm a fan of their regular gnocchi, though I've tried a few other dishes as well. Their personal pizzas are quite generous in size and I liked the few cocktails that I've had from here. Prices are not super high and I feel like everything is priced reasonably. The food is by no means amazing but it's a pretty solid restaurant with a fairly large menu. I would give this place a 3.5 stars but alas, Yelp does not allow 0.5 stars in their ratings. read more

Very nice italian. Grabbed a seat right in front. With the doors opened onto the street, people watching is non-stop. I tried the rigatoni with pesto sauce and a glass of peroni. Skipped the appetizer today as I'm on summer diet. Great food, great location. Good date spot potential too. Lol. read more

I was in a hurry to get to an event and had about 45 minutes to get dinner. I was in the mood for some hot food on a cold day and a place that wasn't too packed so I could sit and read a book with my meal. I walked in and was surprised to find the place practically deserted at 7pm. Only one other customer, but there were a lot of take out orders. I order a glass of white wine which was lovely and the Cavatelli con rapini e salsiccia. The Cavatelli tasted delicious and buttery at first, but as I continued eating I realized it was just completely drowned in butter, and I felt sickened by the end. I wouldn't mind coming back to try something else on the menu, but overall wasn't a good experience. read more

Prettt delicious pizza Bianca. The. Crust was thin and crispy and a perfect size to share as an appetizer. Gnocchi was a bit mushy. Not really a fan of the sourdough bread served with the meal. It was cold and hard with bland olive oil. Ordered cioppino for main course and lacked salt and rich tomato flavor. We sat in the back garden and the decor is minimalistic and clean. Our server was great suggesting menu items. And most importantly my water glass was always full! Ideal for date night since it decent noise level. Although I do recommend playing soft background music. read more

Yummy place in Brooklyn. Dined here with 6 others and we all had a great time. Great food, atmosphere, and prices. The only thing Baci should work on is the service. I felt like we always to flag our waiter down when we needed something instead of him coming to us on his own. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside in the patio. Wonderful outdoor space. Food Complimentary bread basket - great! Beet salad - delish! didn't skimp on the beets either Calamari - perfectly fried Pizzas - we tried three pizzas, veggie, cheese and marinara w/anchovies. all wonderful Gnocchi - the beet gnocchi was a hit lamb chops - another winner Drinks - we had mixed drinks and wine. the mojitos seemed to be a winner with our group I'd definitely come back if I were in the neighborhood. read more

I get so happy when the weather is great... great enough to start eating in outdoor patios and gardens of restaurants, like at Baci & Abbracci! Their outdoor section is really pretty, half tented, with vines traveling up the neighboring building's walls. Only unfortunate part was that I was a target for the mosquitoes. I came here with a party of 7, so got to try a variety of different menu options. Really liked the chardonnay they have. The calamari and mussel apps were typical, but still yummy. I definitely enjoyed the spicy salami pizza the most that night. The portion was also pretty big for $13. Unfortunately, the pastas failed to wow me. I ordered the homemade farfalle with shrimp, asparagus and cherry tomato sauce... but it needed more flavor. Felt the same way with the black taglierini with seafood and saffron sauce and the pumpkin gnocci. The pasta wasn't horrendous, but just felt it could be better. If I come back, I'd probably try the other pizzas instead. read more

Great spot in Williamsburg, rarely crowded. All their pastas are good. Reliable when in doubt. read more

The food is fantastic there sauce is authentically savory. Their meatballs melt in your mouth with lasagna to die for. The cuisine here is heavenly prepared in the way real Italian food should be with art imbedded into the food. Great restaurant. read more

So delicious. I rarely make it out to brooklyn. i am such a brat about trekking out there, but let me say this warm little center of food love is well worth it for me. not one thing on the table was less than amazing. first starting with super fresh bread and incredibly extra virgin olive oil. followed by broiled scallops and then lamb shank, capped off by pistachio pie. service was great too boot. i would def return and recommend. read more

Where to even begin on how good - and consecutively good this restaurant is! I started to visit Baci when they first opened up and years later I still enjoy everything that they have to offer. The environment is modern, not loud and inviting with a killer back yard (open when warm). The staff is fantastic and one of the few places that remember your face even if it's been a while. The food...wow, well there's more than enough authentic, rustic Italian to cover everyone's interests. Thin, well seasoned pizza, excellent salads and apps and the fresh pasta - especially the beet gnocchi are worth the return trip alone, but add in expertly cooked vegetables, proteins and breads...wow, I'm getting hungry just thinking about the food. Thought we would never find the same amazing flavors and fresh pasta outside of Italy, but this place is quite possibly one of the best Italian spots we've found in the city! Aside from the homemade crusty bread and pizza, the fresh homemade pasta is worth the trip out to Williamsburg. We ate the grilled octopus salad special, quattro stagioni pizza, farafelle eggplant special, and linguine with seafood (specially made to be prego safe). Everything tasted like it came from our grandmother's kitchen (if we had an Italian grandmother)...and although we walked out completely stuffed, the food did not sit heavy in our stomachs since everything was cooked without too much salt or heavy oil. We'll definitely be back - and next time, we'll have to save room for their amazing homemade desserts! We recommend the garden seating area, but the restaurant area is also very nice - the ambiance is perfect. read more

This place was fantastic. At first, I was a bit put off by the relative unfriendliness of our waitress, but she made up for it with ninja-like efficiency, with no glass of water going unfilled or no empty plate sitting idly for more than a second. The pizza was absolutely amazing; the baci & abbraci pie was ridiculously good, with the smoked mozzarella a perfect complement to the crispy prosciutto, all on perfectly fluffy dough. I would DEFINITELY come back here again, and would recommend any date or group to come here for a solid Italian dinner. - 1 star for the unfriendliness from the waitress, even though she was very good at her job. Would give 4.5 stars if I could. read more

Came by on a Saturday evening and there was no wait. We ordered 3 drinks, a pizza, two pastas and fries. Passion fruit martini- this was good for a decent price of $12(?) Bianca pizza-this was really heavy + very oily, didn't help that there isn't tomato sauce Linguine clam pasta-this was drenched in oil and the clam was extremely salty Cavetelli w. Sausage and broccoli rabe- this was ok at its best. The pasta was a little on a oily side. Our waiter gave us complimentary doughnuts. TL;DR: the food is decent but very oily read more

A "slice" of Milano in williamsburg. Food is divine (try the scallop app) and the pastas, risottos and pizza make any Italian proud. Bravo! The modern decor is great but the downer are the seats are very uncomfortable you eat and run (maybe that is what they want you to do?). read more

Highly recommend this delightful and delicious Italian Restaurant! I had walked by this place several times and never realized it was a restaurant! I found it on Menupages, realized it was there, and the menu looked good so I thought I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! The inside is very cute and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. We got a pizza as an appetizer, and I have to say it was one of the best brick oven pizza's I have ever had! Got gnocci and another pasta dish to share and both were outstanding. Great drink and wine menu as well plus prices for everything are very reasonable. This is a great place to take a date. Excellent food at a reasonable price. read more

Since eating here with my GF a week ago, I have gotten the calamari delivered three times. It's just that good. As for the rest of the food, I had the bacon wrapped pork which I found a bit dry and chewy, and the pastas have been pretty decent, but that calamari is out of this world. They deliver, the food is good, the decor is cute and the pizzas were not bad, but not motorino quality or anything. read more

I haven't been to Williamsburg in YEARS really...well in the day light at least. It wasn't as awful as I thought it would be but greatly changed. New office buildings, 'luxury high rises', and an extremely low amount of brown people exiting the Marcy Avenue stop...it saddened me greatly. I let my date pick the place and I think it was a good choice. I wanted some place where I can eat outside, although there was an overcast but it worked out quite well. Upon entering the restaurant, it doesn't seem like anything incredibly exciting. The layout is open and the decor is modern....just felt like a typical NY restaurant. The outside area seemed spacious with benches and tables towards the back. Now I have to say that I'm not that big of an Italian fan as I think that, for what it is, alot of it is completely overpriced for glorified 'rustic' food but it has become apart of the American culinary lexicon so I usually keep quiet about my 'meh' sentiment. The food here is pretty good but nothing to write to a Neopolitan grandma about! We had a very simple meal...since I'm a lactard and on a date, I had to avoid all the items that had cheese in it...DANG IT! Probably about the only thing that I go crazy for is pizza and they had alot of pizza choices on the menu. ARGHHH!!! But, the waist and love bars thanked me because we shared the pear, romaine, nuts, and something else salad. It was very good and fresh tasting. I completed the meal with the papparedelle in a lamb ragu, simple dish which is executed quite well I think. The papparedelle was al dente, not too soft but not too chewy. The dish could've used more lamb ragu and the fact that I covered it in fresh pepper added to the flavor.....Overall, I liked it. My date had the beet gnocchi in some kind of a cream based sauce. I dipped some of the bread in the sauce, tried the beet gnocchi, and it was really good...very light flavors. Although I thought that I would hate the beet gnocchi, that was the highlight of the dish for me. We also tried a side of mashed potatoes which was so fluffy and creamy tasting that my mouth immediately started searching for some grilled red meat to accompany it. That was quite good! Of course, a meal with me wouldn't be complete without copious amounts of poison water! And they're poison water was quite good. I don't remember the actual name as I initially wanted to order a bottle of Malbec but my date preferred the mixed drinks. All I remember was that it was strong, flavorful, and I had about 3 of them. My date had some kind of citrus drink and that was quite good too. Overall, a solid experience! read more

I have been to Baci & Abracci twice and it was actually busy both times (disclaimer: it was a Friday and Saturday night). The second time I ate in the outside, backyard area. this is defiantely one of the better Italian restaurants I ate at in the NYC area. I am not a Gnocci fan BUT thanks to yelp, I had to try to violette di Parma (beet & goat cheese gnocci) and would up eating it both times. What a great and decadent dish. I will keep my belly round for the summer with a big smile eating these. delicious. My other had the lamb shank with the spinich, mashed potatoes and was very pleased. The service was good BUT the food took long. Overall the food is well prepared and you will probably get a seat if you just show it. Foe me this is the best Italian in the area and it holds its own in Manhattan. read more

I just want to thank Baci & Abbracci for a great time on New Year's Eve. I started my reservation with 10 people, then bumped to 12. After that, I bumped my reservation to 15 and then showed up with 13. B&A didn't bat an eye. Instead, they were very friendly over the phone and in person, and said "no problem" each time I threw them a new curve ball. For my group of 13, the service was spectacular. I was really stunned by how the staff never seemed to miss a drink (that I could tell, anyway) or an appetizer, and that the entrees all came out right at the same time so that everyone could eat together without wondering who might be missing a plate. The food was excellent. Everyone at the table kept telling me how wonderful everything tasted (and I knew, because I was eating it, too), and gave me many compliments after dinner for having found such a great restaurant. On top of all this- the prices were really very decent. Finding a place to comfortably fit 13 budgets isn't easy, but I think this did the trick. I have only positive things to say about Baci & Abbracci. read more

Our party of 4 came here on a Saturday night around 8 without a reservation- we were told "10 minutes" wait time which turned into at least 35 minutes, but we waited regardless and the waiter got us waters during that time. We got 2 pizzas, the linguini and clams sauce and the spaghetti carbonara. The linguini was slippery and perfect, plus the clams actually had clams inside them unlike some other restaurants. The spaghetti carbonara was also delicious, perfectly blended. The food was great, only minor problem was how long it took to get the check when we were done. I would recommend making reservations. read more

This is a great option for both delivery and eating in. The Violette di Parma is amazing-- it's beet gnocci with a parmesan cream sauce. The cavetelli with sausage and broccoli rabe is delish and the lamb ragu is pretty good but not their best dish. Unfortunately, they discontinued my favorite dish, which was the gnocci with sage butter-- perfect for a long weekend at home. If you go in house, be sure to sit in their beautiful backyard, enjoy a cheap house bottle of wine, and spoil yourself with tiramisu. read more

I liked this place and ordered takeout from them pretty regularly. Ordered the carbonara pasta dish and beets salad last night. The salad was barely ok and missing the cheese listed on the menu. The pasta was absolutely tasteless. It had ONE small piece of pancetta in the entire dish. Not even a cube, it was thin slice. The spaghetti container had a cup of watered down liquid, clearly they didn't bother straining the pasta. This place is not the cheapest Italian food in that neighborhood, for their food to be subpar is unacceptable. Most likely will not go back or order takeout from them again. read more

No major wait to be seated - my pizza took a while to come out. The pizza was good, chicken wasn't flavorful. The service was ok.

Wow! Yum Yum Yum!!!! What a find just outside of the super hipster district of Williamsburg. The prices are very reasonable, the place is spotless, the staff is friendly and best of all the pastas are cooked perfectly. The meat dishes were just as delish. Can't wait to go back, although Williamsburg is generally too grotesquely hipster for my not so hipsterliness. read more

The pasta is handmade and sooo fresh. I had the spinach ravioli with truffle sauce and my guy got the gnocci. Both were so tasty and melt in your mouthy (though my guy said he preferred the ravioli). We also started with a garden/house salad and a beet salad, they were what you would expect. The service was very good. Quick and polite. I'm not used to servers backing off and giving you space so sometimes I thought we were being ignored but we were more being left to enjoy our food and experience. We were told when we sat down that fresh focaccia bread was coming from the oven in a moment...then we got a basket of some store-bought baguette slices. That was the only weird thing. read more

5 stars hands down. Best Italian food I've ever had. Went with friends and family. Had the fried calimari appetizer...cooked to perfection. Delicious fresh mozzarella...Mozzarella e Pomodoro. My wife ordered the Ravioli di spinaci. It was wonderful. I ordered the Pappardelle al ragú d'agnello (pappardelle with lamb ragout)...best pasta I've had. Awesome. read more

Service not too friendly, esp if when they are busy. Three times I was there, I had to ASK for bread. Salads are fresh & yummy, my fav is the beef carpaccio arugula. Went here for brunch after receiving a 20% off coupon in the mail. It was beastly hot outside, but somehow their outdoor garden seems to exist in a perfectly shaded biodome where it was cool and breezy. Despite being Italian, the place had an almost Latin vibe--samba music playing, a tropical breezey atmosphere and a different flavors of brunch mojitos. It was delightful and relaxing. Downright delaxing. I had the mozarella and pepper fritatta, which arrived looking unassuming, but was packed with flavor. My date had the brie and apricot jam omelette. Wow. The Italians do savory-sweet like no one's business. The fruit salad that came with his plate was also exceptional. Usually a fruit salad side is a few pieces of oxidized apple and some anemic honeydew. This here was chunks of fragrant cantaloupe, fresh strawberries and ripe orange slices that rival what you get with your fortune cookies in the finest Chinese restaurants... I sneaked a peek at our neighbors triple stacked pancakes with carmelized banana. Holy insulin crash but worth it! That will be my next order. A few words on the service...Hey, remember when people in Williamsburg actually gave a crap about whether you liked their restaurant and wanted you to come back? One touch I especially appreciated at B&A was the manager who came by the tables several times during the brunch service to make sure everyone was enjoying things. The second thing that impressed was our server. I ordered the passionfruit bellini with my meal, which was tasty, if a tad sour. Midway through brunch, our server came over with a 2nd bellini on a tray. Reason being: "I saw that you haven't been drinking your bellini that quickly, so I thought I may have made it too sour. So I remade it for you." Seriously. ??!! !! The last time I had that level of service was at a business dinner at Bouley, where before your napkin had hit the floor, there was a replacement being laid down on the table. Overall, a very positive dining experience and I can't wait to return for dinner. So long as triple stacked carmelized banana pancakes are on the dinner menu. read more

I have read other reviews and the place seemed great and was excited to try something new... But, maybe I just did not have a good experience. First of all, it was a cold cold night (20 degrees) and for some reason they sat us on the back room where the heaters were not really working at it's full potential. There was another table out there and they all had their winter jackets still on it was so cold. We asked and on the 2nd time they allowed us to go back into the regular dining room where it was much warmer. Five mins later, we noticed the other couple came inside the restaurant as well. Why would you sit customers there in the 1st place? Specially where you had plenty of open tables inside? It was REALLY cold in the 'backyard'. The overall rest of the experience was sub par. We ordered a spinach ravioli with truffle oil which was what saved the night. We also ordered the Branzino and were both very unimpressed by it, so much that almost half of it was left on the plate. We were still hungry and decided to give it another shot and ordered one of their 'specials' for the night a homemade pappardelle pasta with wild mushrooms and ricotta. Let's just say there was nothing 'special' about it. It was on the dry side and I am still looking for the 'wild mushrooms'. We took 2 bites out of the dish. The waiter noticed our dish was basically untouched and came over and asked us and we very nicely told him there was just nothing special about it and we did not like it. He said im sorry and took it away. The bill came and we were fully charged for that pasta. Mind you we had ordered 1 apptz, 3 entries and a bottle of wine, so it's not like we weren't paying for anything else. We didn't say anything and still left 20% tip, but I will not be coming back here nor would I recommend this place. They have several things to improve on. read more

I had a great dinner here. There were a million options that all sounded incredible. For appetizers we ordered a beet salad and the eggplant parmesan and they were both amazing. For my entree I ordered the pizza with artichokes, olives, eggplant, mushrooms & happiness and my friend ordered the lamb ragout. I didn't try the lamb but my friend raved about it. All in all the food was super delicious and everything had the best sauce. The only bad part was that the waiter totally forgot the glass of wine my friend ordered, but he did apologize. All in all I'd go back again and gladly try to eat my weight in baci&abbracci. read more

Tried this place after walking by so many times, seeing that it looked "cute" and after reading decent reviews on here. I was disappointed and would not go back based on quality and price. The place was empty as others mentioned but then again it was a week night. That was ok and the service was prompt /good. It's the food I had a problem with. We got 4 dishes total and my group of 3 shared: Taglierini al nero di seppia/Black Taglierini with seafood and saffron sauce $16. Margherita/Tomato sauce, mozzarella and fresh basil $10. Spaghetti al pomodoro/Spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil $11. Branzino/Pan seared striped bass with parsley and lemon sauce served with sauteed spinach $20. Pizza was decent and so was red sauce, no complaints there. The pasta however was defiantly not made in house. The fish in both dishes seemed like it was surely frozen. The calamari was not tender at all (think old shoe lace) and the bass was a very thin piece, dry and could not have been fresh. There was no crisp to it, was somewhat mushy and very sub par. I would have been happy to pay 16/20 for both fish entrees if they were decent. I wanted to like this place but I just couldn't. I'd suggest you go up the street where there are manyyy other restaurants and don't waste your time or money on this one. read more

My boyfriend and I live up the street and we've been to this place more than any other in Williamsburg. Always great food, always great service. The backyard area is wonderful when it's nice out and it's a good restaurant for a quiet date during the week days. The pizzas, gnocchi and all of the soup de jours I've tried have been great! The cheese plate is a littttllleee disappointing but mostly because the cheeses and honey and pear are all together a bit too sweet for my liking. Otherwise, it is also fine. And hooray for online reservations! It's worked out wonderfully for us! read more
