Since we were sat outside, a lot of homeless people came and stared at us or talked to themselves by us. It was very uncomfortable. Not the owners fault but still an uncomfortable situation when you've got two little kids with you. We ordered chicken tenders, a waffle, fries, and champagne. Everything was very delicious. Not sure how chicken should be cooked, but you really got to try their fried chicken and their waffles. Order at the counter and casual seating makes for a comfortable informal eating experience. With top hits of the 80s playing in the background, my memories were awakened. I have long legs and did have to watch myself when it came to where I placed them while seated. After talking at the counter, I chose the Asian Hot omelet, pad Thai spices in a sausage and ham omelet smothered in pad Thai sauce. Nice fusion. The sides of red potatoes and kale salad go great with it as well. Their biscuit is good sized with a fluffy interior. Mine is so dark because it had been in the warmer for a while and had formed a firm exterior. A plus for me since I like crunchier breads. Personally I prefer the traditional flavor vs. Thai spiced chicken, but to each its own. The chicken was fried perfectly. My only complaint was that once they take your order, service is slow. I get that it's packed, but it was hard to track down a server when needed. Also, the day we went the inside was warm and had a strong smell of peanut oil. Maybe too busy with door dash orders but based of other reviews this seems like the norm. Just a preference of mine I don't like to eat at restaurants with dogs. The potatoes were very large, and my over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly. The owners were super nice and we chatted for a while my additional to go food was being made. The side patio is small but cute and perfect for small to medium dogs to be with you. The sign on the door says to get your place in line via their website, so I imagine they get super busy for brunchh, especially on the weekends.. I was really looking forward to eating here and I am still in shock about the entire experience. Let me say this first the people who work here are very nice and they have good coffee. That is the only positive thing I can say. We joined the waitlist this morning at 10:09 and had a projected wait time of 30-35 minutes. We did not get a table until 12:00pm. (Looking back at the 45 minute mark or 1-1/2 hr mark we should have left, we kept thinking we are going to get seated and again excited to try the food from a review) We ordered food at the counter and didn't receive our food for another 1 hr 20 minutes. (We were only a 3 person party btw) Our food arrived and the French toast was undercooked and the equivalent to 1 regular piece of bread (cut up into tiny triangles to try and make it look like more) I ordered my eggs scrambled well done and they were undercooked as well. I asked to have them cooked more and they were returned still undercooked. Our total time for this experience was 3 hours and 40 minutes and our total time eating was 20 minutes. I rarely do negative reviews, however I truly felt the need to post this experience. Also we were not alone in this situation the table next to us had the same wait times for table and food and we were sharing our experience. It has serious notes of chocolate and, sacrilege to my Portola, is the BEST COLD BREW I HAVE EVER HAD. You'd think its sweetened, but its not. For the food, you can't beat the biscuit sandwiches, which come with roasted red skin potatoes. I've also tried the spinach omelet and the kale salad that came with it was incredible.
