Was craving for waffle & fried chicken and heard about this place so stopped by to check it out. Parking was meter street parkings. The place is right on the corner so easy to spot it out and was lucky to get parking right next to the place. They do have outside and indoor seating areas...outside has only 4-5 tables this morning but saw plenty of unfolded chairs and tables so I guess weekend will have more seating outside. Once you got in, you're greeted by (the owner I believed) and informed you the menu and drinks menu. Easy order and got my number and picked a seat. Once they done, the foods are brought to your table. The seating area is more of community setting, you clean after you done eating, free hot/cool/cold water and with mixing of all type of chairs and tables. Quite homey and chill vibe. Got the waffle & fried chicken and Thai iced coffee. Abit watery coffee and less sweet (which is great, which I like). The waffles are great...very fluffy and light plus nicely tasty with the syrup. Chicken is good, good size but abit too blanched for me plus not well seasoned enough but crispy fried. Overall, it was good and for both items and 16% tip, around $30.
Joined my friend for brunch today at Arize Bistro and it did not disappoint. After seeing reels about this place I was so excited to try them out. We walked right in before the crowds came in and we placed our order at the counter and the food was brought out to us. Inside was cute and had tables set up as well as some out on their patio. We got the mango sticky rice sauce pancakes and The Usual which consists of 2 eggs with sausage, bacon, or ham, served with kale salad, seasoned red skin potatoes, and a biscuit. We got the bacon which was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were amazing! The pancakes were awesome and hit the sweet spot for us as we shared both entrees. Great service and fabulous food! Definitely a place to check out!
Mango sticky rice pancakes were super yummy 10/10. They have a little crispy edge action going on if you like that. Outdoor seating was nice. Definitely coming back next weekend for chicken & waffles.
This place is the place to be. Super cute vibes in and out, and the menu is unbeatable. I had their baja baby skillet, and it was a little spicy but still delish. The chorizo was pretty greasy, and I wouldn't get this again. But trying my mom's hot asian omelet made me envious because it was so fluffy and not oily at all. I need to get that myself the next time I am here. I think what really influenced me to give this restaurant a 5 is due to their famous mango sticky rice pancakes. The sauce is soooooo good. The pancakes taste like they were made using rice flour. Wasn't heavy at all. You need to try these!!! I can't wait to come again for these pancakes and eat some more of their yummy brunch meals.
I'm sorry this is my spot and I'm back again lol everything is good I had to try something new! And I was not disappointed.. the staff is friendly and he definitely have a great sense of humor ... never a dull moment .. food is always hot and fresh and made to order. The place is always clean and nice music .. definitely a small gem!
Like I mentioned before, my family and I are on a mission to try 1-2 new breakfast spots each month because of how much we love breakfast food. This was the second stop on our list, and it turned out to be a great choice. Since the restaurant is on the smaller side, it can get pretty crowded on weekends. We decided to go on a weekday morning instead and were seated right away, which made for a relaxed start to our meal. The menu has a solid variety of options, so we already know we'll be back to try more. For food, my wife ordered the Monte Cristo along with a passion fruit lemonade. The sandwich was good overall, though it leaned a bit more savory than I personally prefer--I tend to like my Monte Cristos on the sweeter side, so I would've preferred a little less mustard. That said, the passion fruit lemonade was excellent and an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys a refreshing, fruity drink. I went with the Belly Bomb Panini and added sausage to take it up a notch. Flavor-wise, it delivered, but the bread did get soggy fairly quickly. It didn't bother me much, though I know texture can be a dealbreaker for some people. What really stood out for me was the Starburst lemonade--it was easily my favorite drink of the meal, and I couldn't get enough of it. For our son, we ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Sauce Pancakes, which ended up being a hit for all of us. He especially loved them, and honestly, we didn't even need syrup. The combination of the sticky rice sauce, whipped cream, and mango created the perfect balance of sweetness. My only wish is that the portion came with a bit more sauce and fruit. Overall, we were really happy with both our visit and our food choices. There are definitely some standout items here that are worth trying, and we're looking forward to coming back and adding more favorites to our list.
Food looks beautiful but sadly no flavor!! The eggs were soaking wet ( I ordered scrambled eggs) I ask to send them back and the gentleman offered for them to cook them more! By this he meant taking the eggs that sat for 15 minutes wet next to me until he returned to ask us how we were doing then they tried recooking the eggs! Mind you when you order you pay! You have no idea what you're getting yourself into until it's in front of you. Staff was friendly but unfortunately the seasoning wasn't in the food and that egg incident will keep me from returning I forgot to mention that the mimosas are overly priced and really distasteful! Had I known it was coming room temperature in a plastic cup mixed the syrup I would've passed! Taste like Andre's which gave me a terrible headache The one star is due to having leave one for the review to post
Came in on a Saturday morning at 9 AM. You order at the counter then seat yourself. Grab your own water. We ordered the mango sticky rice pancakes and fried chicken and rice. The gravy for the fried chicken was good, chicken was crispy. The coconut rice was not very coconut but still good. The pancakes were very sweet with mango on top. For two people it was enough food. The pancakes were almost like a dessert. We got the pistachio latte and lemonade which was also very sweet.
Decided to give this place a shot for brunch and the food was good. I think my scoring for this review is low because it's very expensive. The portion is a pretty nice size but I just don't think it's worth the price. You order and then you sit. The mimosas were okay ; I would prefer a juice instead of like pumps of syrup.
Food was amazing overall! It's a small shop vibe with a very small dog friendly patio. Service was so kind and attentive - gives you a real family vibe! Mango Sticky Rice pancakes were to die for!! Never had such a good flavor sauce, usually other places taste really artificial but this was tasty. Chicken all around for every plate was great, maybe a little dry but well seasoned. Coconut rice ia the choice of rice to go! Will be back when I'm craving those pancakes and waffles.
Great experience at Arize Bistro. The Fried Chicken Biscuit was juicy and flavorful food. The Thai coffee was refreshing. But what amazing service, although it seems they are understaffed. Our order took longer but the food is worth the wait. My friend got the chicken and waffles, which was also amazing.
This is definitely a solid brunch spot in Long Beach. I came here last weekend with a few friends, and we were pretty early, about 10am, so finding seating was easy. You order at the front and then they'll bring your food out to you, so no one is really checking on you throughout your dining experience. I ordered the Thai tea boba pancakes and the fried chicken biscuit. The pancakes were not bad, but very unique to add boba on top I thought! The fried chicken was pretty tasty and definitely a lot more chick n than biscuit. The biscuit was thick and dense, but still good. Overall, a good solid breakfast!
Walked to Arize this morning, glad we did! Arrived a little after 10:00 joined the waiting list and called within 10 minutes. You enter and order, greeted by a very friendly cashier. She answered questions and offered suggestions. We split the sausage biscuit and mango sticky rice pancakes. My friend got an iced coconut americano. The biscuit was tasty, two sausage patties with 2 slices of American cheese and came with red skinned potatoes. The pancakes were very light and fluffy with mango & whipped cream. The mango sticky rice syrup was tasty but not too sweet. We were both full and plan to back to try waffles!

I really wanted to like this place but it was a bit of a let down. The restaurant is on the corner of a street and they have a ton of street (metered) parking and also a small lot in the alley. The meter is free on Sundays! You order at the front and they'll give you a number to take to your table. They have one long table for groups and a couple of two/four seater tables indoors and 3 four seater tables outside (can be pulled apart of 6 two seaters). When we first walked in, it took a solid 5 min of us standing around to be ACKNOWLEDGED by someone. It took another few mins to get our order started. We ordered our food and had separate transactions for the whole table. Check in on yelp for a free drink! They brought out my food before my drink lol. I ordered the thai iced tea and it was good- but nothing special. The food came out warm like it was sitting there for a while. I ordered the crispy chicken waffle sammich. There are different flavors for the chicken: garlic, cheese, spicy thai. The spicy thai isnt spicy at all. The waffles weren't crispy but the chicken was! Slather on the spicy mayo on top of the chicken and the syrup on waffles and prep for the first bite. Unfortunately even though we ordered together, my food was out for 15ish minutes before my friends. I went in to ask why hers wasn't out yet and he went to check. Apparently they ran out of biscuits (it was 12pm) and they didn't bother to tell us. I finished half my meal before their food came out. Tldr: The food was mid, service was even worse. read more

Went for my bday w the family and everything was so good! It wasn't crowded on a Sunday around 11:30 am. We got some coffee drinks and refreshing juice blends. We had the chicken and waffles which was moist and flavor, Monte cristo was fabulous, banana pancakes, and a couple other dishes. The owner was super friendly and the food came out in a decent time. My kiddo is super picky but really loved this place as well so we'll def be coming back! read more

The food was extremely delicious. It wasn't really packed when I went which allowed me and my sister too choose a good table outside and we enjoy brunch together and the environment was very nice and we were able to talk the Monte Cristo was extremely delicious and will for sure order it again when I go back. I saw this place on instagram, and of course had to check it out! It's a relatively small space so I noticed a lot of people ordered take out. You order at the counter and find a table. We arrived for an early brunch and by the time we finished there were people waiting for a table. Here's what we tried: - Crispy chicken waffle sammich: You can choose what spices you want for your fried chicken and we chose Thai spice. The chicken was really juicy and I loved the flavor! The waffle itself was nothing special. They give you a side of maple syrup and a sauce that kind of tastes like spicy mayo. - Monte Cristo: The monte cristo was delicious, but to be honest nothing super special. I think the crispy chicken waffle sammich is the star of the show. To be honest, if there was an option to just order the chicken itself, I would get that. Nothing else on the menu particularly caught my eye. If I were in the area I'd probably drop by again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. It's a bit cramped inside and even though they've tried adding more seating, it's not the most comfortable environment. Food is served on paper plates and with disposable utensils. There is metered street parking out front, but a couple blocks behind you can find free street parking if you're patient. read more

Came here on a Sunday at 10:00, placed our order by 10:20, got our food at 11:10. I'm giving it three stars solely because of the time it took to actually get our food. They're clearly ill-equipped to handle a large volume of customers. Everything was delicious once we got it, but after we did no one came by our table again. The smart play would be coming at an off hour or ordering to go over the phone or online and picking it up. If you do plan on sitting down and eating there just plan on being there a while. The place has plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. We arrived early with a reservation made but the place was still empty when we arrived which worked out well, however it took a long time for our food to arrive. I would advise to come only when you are not strapped for time. Street parking is available. The chicken waffle sandwich was a solid 8/10. I came here for the first time on a Sunday at 12pm, it was a little busy but we got seated pretty quickly. The menu has a variety of options and lots of drinks to choose from. This was one of the best omelets I've had in a while. I really enjoyed the potatoes and kale salad that came as sides. The biscuit was soooo good!! Customer service is great, the staff is very nice and food comes out quickly. There's so much character inside the restaurant with cool artwork. Overall I enjoyed my experience here! read more

I have been wanting to try this place out for a while now. But just could never get to the area with enough time to sit down and eat. I am glad I made some extra time today. Ordered the Crispy Chicken Waffle. The order came with 1 full size Belgian waffle folded in half, fried chicken stuffed between and a side of home fries style potatoe quarters. The waffle was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The fried chicken was a huge portion. It was fried crispy and flaky on the outside and the inside was tender and blazing hot. The potatoes were also crispy and blazing hot, almost too hot to eat. They were plain and needed seasoning but still very good. The service is simple. Counter order and about 10 minutes later hot food delivered to my table. Food wait was a little longer than expected, but well worth the wait. Small patio eating area and a slightly larger inside dining area. The dining area was clean. Business was slow today, but if the dining area was full it would be tight quarters. Great food and simple service. Highly recommended if you are in the area and have a few extra minutes to sit down and eat. Parking is challenging but there is a small parking lot on the east side if the building. Narrow parking lot and alley exit, so drive slow. read more

Food: The food was amazing and they had so many options on their menu. The Monte Cristo was my favorite. I ordered the Garlic Chicken Waffle Sandwich and the chicken had a very subtle flavor so next time I want to order something else. The dip that comes with it was really good. Each order comes with potatoes on the side. Drinks: In my opinion the Strawberry-Cucumber Lemonade was very sweet but I added water to it and it helped. Service: The person at the register was so sweet and extremely helpful. I think he is the owner and he made us feel so welcomed. Ambiance: The place has a lot of seating inside and outside. Water and condiments can be found on the side. Overall I will be back to try more food items in the menu. read more

Saturday with family we stopped for brunch on the middle the way to the Aquarium. The place is really cozy, perfect to chat with friend, or take a book in your breakfast. The service is nice and friendly. The omelette was so flavorful, fluffy, the salad was delicious as well. The price is reasonable. My husband and I loved the plate. We found this place just doing a quick search on Yelp. We were looking for brunch in Long Beach. You can find street parking in front. The food seems like it's got Thai-inspired roots. You order at the counter then they give you a number. Water is self-serve in the seating area. You can dispense hot, cool, or cold water. I got the hot Thai omelet, while my friends got chicken and waffles and the Baja scramble. My Thai omelet had a nice kick to it! It looked they had added a massamam curry type sauce on it. Yum! The food was very filling too. And not a bad price for it! I was able to finish my meal, but I'm sure most people will need a box to take it home! We all got drinks: black coffee, Thai iced tea, Thai iced coffee, and a pineapple mimosa. The mimosa was a good amount! They gave it in a regular sized iced latte cup! The vibe was chill. Charming place with very kind and welcoming staff. Came on a weekend brunch and waited just a few minutes to order and then sit down. The individual mimosas have a steep price but my god they come in these boba sized cups and they're equally strong and sweet, I got the lychee one. Food is hearty and fairly standard for brunch; the monte cristo was nicely crisp and not too soggy from my own experience, wish it came with a more unique jam or syrup but still fantastic, garlic tofu was nice with a delicious sauce but nothing crazy, love having that kind of option with my brunch which is super unique read more

My husband and I had breakfast here hoping to have an Asian-fusion breakfast. We ordered the Monte Cristo, the Sweet Breakfast, and shared the mango sticky rice pancakes. All dishes were delicious but the only one with a Thai flare were the pancakes. The owner is super hospitable, customer service was 10/10! Ample seating both indoor and outdoor. read more
