We had a kind of annoying experience here, but it turned out okay in the end (hence three stars instead of two or fewer). When you have an appointment at the Genius Bar, you have to wait in some weird sort of circle around a guy with an iPad and literally (not literally) savagely beat people in order to get attention. The guy with the iPad when we were there was Prada frames, and it seemed like we waited an inordinate amount of time before he finally acknowledged us. We had arrived just on time, but the waiting made us late (Technically our fault since you're supposed to be there early, but whatever). The real problems started when we went to check in, though, and weren't in the system. When Prada frames couldn't find us, he started very apparently talking down to us and looking really annoyed as he tried to pin the error on us, like we didn't complete the appointment-setting process, or were complete idiots, or something. The appointment was actually for my friend, who immediately went on his iPhone and showed Prada frames the email from Apple which confirmed the location, date, and time that we expected to have the appointment. Eventually Prada frames heaved a sigh and told us he could TRY to schedule us for another appointment that day. He found us one for almost an hour and a half later than our originally scheduled spot. I wasn't sure if I should feel gracious or kick him in the balls. But I didn't feel gracious. Annoyed, we walked around the mall killing time for an hour or so. I guess it's not technically the Apple Store's fault that malls are so freaking boring, but it was their fault that we had to waste our life there forever. We went back and checked in with (thankfully) a different guy (Prada frames was off somewhere petting some puppy. Like, there was actually a puppy on the table at the genius bar. It was a really cute puppy, but still). After waiting for five or so minutes (not long), we got helped, and the girl who helped us was awesome. I wish I remembered her name, but I'm bad at names... She was able to get everything done that my friend hoped would be done. She was knowledgeable, clear in her explanations, and solved even the problems to which she didn't initially know the answers. In my memory she was wearing a form-fitting leather jumpsuit, sunglasses, and boots, and she had a gun, but I could be mistaken (I'm totally lying, there was NO gun!). So that aspect was great. Five stars for her! Unfortunately, though, Prada frames only gets two stars, thus bringing down the total combined rating. His attitude demonstrated that he clearly didn't give a crap about us. Also, boo for a general disorganized/chaotic feeling in the store. read more

I love the Apple Store, but this one just wasn't ready for what I had to bring to the table. Unfortunately I found out that in order to upgrade your HD, or RAM, on your MacBook Pro, you need to go to a third party dealer... WHHHHYYYYYY? They did give me a list of places that would help except the one place near me is renovating, and the rest are super far. :( read more

The only reason it is not 5 stars is because I think that in general Apple products are over priced. I mean think about it, you pay crazy amounts of money at the end. It started bad with a long line of people, but it turned out that the line is just for people who need repairs. If you need to buy you only wait 10 minutes. You get your name on the list and wait. The serviceman was very helpful and patient, and made me feel that I can ask whatever I want. It was fun shopping here, and if not the prices, I would be a lot more. read more

I had a great experience at the Apple store. The service technician named Jay was very helpful. Jay went above and beyond. I came to fix one thing but had two items to repair. I didn't realize we had to make two separate appointments for different items. He took his time and found out they had some time to do the other item for repair even though it was not an item he repairs. I was very grateful for his professionalism and good attitude and work ethic. People need to realize that the coronavirus regulations have cut down their employee and service availability also. Even though my computer couldn't be fixed right there and needed to be shipped, I appreciated the excellent service and experience. Keep up the good work guys. read more

20 minutes wait for appointments took over one hour to see someone. I was told everyone took brake at the same time. Manager needs to

Yesterday we had an appointment for MacBook battery change. They told us 2 things that didn't sit right and I'm going to explain. Number 1 was there is a chance of data loss changing out the battery and we need you to sign this liability form to so if Apple employee messes up that's it. The Apple employee that presented it like that was very rude. I work at an IT firm, I know the risks it takes to replace a battery and nowhere in the risk should there be a liability form and data loss. If that Apple employee is incompetent to not even be able to change a simple battery from a laptop then either he or they don't know what their doing because that shows their training is insufficient. Our company can gaurentee no data loss when changing out a battery. Batteries don't contain any sort of data that the user will lose. If a user loses their data from their laptop during a battery change then the person who changed it messed up the whole process from the start and didn't know what their doing. So if Apple or this employee can't guarantee a battery change to not have data loss then people look else where because that's just ridiculous a battery has nothing to do with the hard drive or the ssd that's inside the laptop. After he was telling us as well it was going to take 5 days to get it fixed. So not only are they incompetent enough to not guarantee a battery change, but it apparently takes a 5 day process. People reading this go do your research for a second and you will see the process should take 30 minutes to an hour realistically. My IT firm that manages companies, we do these things on a weekly basis. Not only does it take us an hour or less to do but we never had an issue with data loss changing out a battery from an hardware given to us. Apple can spin if in a way where their hardware is more complicated. That's a lie it's not, hardware is hardware and a person trained to deal with those things should know right from left and know how to change multiple parts and not harm the hardware at the same time. If Apple employees can't guarantee simple hardware changes then either they don't have sufficient training or Apple doesn't know to teach their employees how to change things out in a correct simple fashion. So we took our laptop back and I talked to the person whose laptop it was and my company is gonna handle that laptop with no problems. For the record, we have employees that are Apple certified and they laughed when they heard this guy couldn't guarantee a battery change without data loss but he did say the liability form is just in case. Look I'm not mad about the liability form I'm mad that Apple employee told us there's a good chance of data loss and it will take 5 days to get it done. To change a battery neither of those two things should have been said. read more

Awesome team! I had a serious issue with my iPhone 5; screen black, made sounds but could not get any other sign of life or power down. I thought I had to schlep across the valley to get this taken care of (I had other errands in the area but didn't want to add this to my list). I spoke with one of the team members, explained the situation to him and was then passed along to Terrance. Terrance totally knew how to handle this situation and walked me through various options until he hit on just what needed to be done. He was both friendly and knowledgeable. Exactly what a client needs to experience when you think that your phone has possibly hit the end of its life.Total time on phone: about 20-25 minutes. Thanks so much Terrance! Erin was very helpful when I was struggling with my brand new iPhone X. I just needed to learn the basics on how to use it.

Painful experience having Tony help me. I was shocked she was training someone. I came in to buy a new iPhone. Had the quote and info because I chatted online with an apple rep on chat. Apparently Tony wouldn't take my old phone back because there was water damage. So I took it to Sherman oaks and they gave me full credit without a hassle. So the customer service is pretty bad from this point and prior experiences. Lastly she had no clue about the financing I set up with Barclay and told me that I needed the physical card. My email stated you're all set to purchase. When I asked about the recycling program. Again she turned to the guy being trained and said always ask even if they say no. What are you talking about??!!! Buzz Kill. Sherman oaks or Woodland Hills stores have trained technicians and they will get the show on the road for you. read more

The only reason I am giving this location two stars instead of one is because of an employee named John. He is the only one that knew how to use his brain and help me. Walked into the store yesterday (Sunday) and it was pretty busy as usual. Was checking out the new MacBook Air and AirPod Max's. I happened to be at the MacBook table and was greeted by an employee asking if I needed assistance which at the moment I didn't. When I was ready to purchase Liz who was sitting at the MacBook table assisted me. She helped by checking out the in-store availability of the products I was ready to purchase (MacBook Air & AirPod Max), and walked me thru the online Apple website in ordering a sold out MacBook Air that I am able to pickup next week curbside at another Apple store closer to my home. I was able to purchase the AirPod Max's and take them home same day. Typically an online shopper and avoid mall's all together....however, Liz made the process seamless with with her patience, knowledge, and friendliness through the entire process. I greatly appreciate her! read more

I came in to this particular Apple Store for one reason only; to buy myself a new MacBook Pro. Obviously these laptops do not come cheap, but my family has always loved apple products because of their quality and great customer service. When I went in, it was around 8 pm so I understand that it was busier than usual. I patiently waited after a friend of mine's husband to get myself on the list. Now, granted I was standing behind my friend's husband and clearly in Anthony's view (the associate that was taking walk in's) I expected to be helped next. While I was waiting, I noticed a couple of women who had already been helped by a previous associate, come up to Anthony on his right side after me. With that being said, after Anthony had helped my friend's husband, to my surprise, instead of helping me immediately, he turned a full 180 to help the women on the opposite side. As I stood there awkwardly while he helped the women book their appointment, another gentleman had come up holding an apple product in his arms. I thought, ok maybe he will help me next considering this man had just walked up. After booking the ladies appointment, he then proceeded to help the gentleman who had just walked up. At that point, I was baffled. Maybe it was what I was wearing, or I didn't "look the part," Anthony completely did not care to help me. The only reason why I was actually able to finally get his attention was because the gentleman who had come after me had asked if I had been helped yet. He was kind enough to say he didn't want to cut in front of anyone and allowed me my turn. With that being said, when Anthony turned to me, he looked rather annoyed. I could definitely get the vibe like he didn't want to deal with me. With that being said, I kept it short and to a bare minimum. After our exchange, I asked for his name, and it wasn't until that moment that he had finally realized how he was acting towards a paying customer. I say this because after he was done helping these other customers, he tried coming up to me trying to make small talk about the laptop I was inquiring about saying I could get a discount if I was a student (which I had already known because Apple takes care of their students) but needless to say it had already been past first impressions. Sorry Anthony but better luck next time. Got my laptop and didn't bother turning back. read more

going to the apple store is the worst decision I've made, first you get an appointment for 1 hour and a half and then I received a text in that mine appointment is 2 and a half hours later, the worst part is that you ask for a specific item ( ipad air 256) and they tell you that they have on inventory ,actually they tell you the color of have available, after the long wait and see 6 or 7 employees who walk with 1 tablet talking and giving laps doing nothing while people expect to be cared for, finally your turn comes and they tell you they don't have that article. I recommend you don't go to Northridge apple store, it's wasting your time read more

Please do not come to this Apple store. Poor customer service every time. Seems like most of the workers there do not know what they are doing. I needed help one time and waited 20 mins. This store is EXTREMELY busy, it's so busy that the workers that want to work are up to their ears in customers trying to get their attention. I walked in and no one even bother greeting me, I even locked eyes with a few of them and nothing, after waiting for a while I decided that I should at least talk to someone, and the guy that I talked to said that he was busy and I should wait by the tables on the back if I need help, and so I did, after 10 minutes standing looking around for help noticed that a girl entered the store and the same guy that was too busy to help me went there pronto and greeted her and started helping her, that's when I gave up. If me telling you my experience with this store didn't make it clear that I was unsatisfied with the service I'll spell it out for you, BAD SERVICE RUN. I would not recommend this store is you are not a pretty girl. read more

I walked in the store to a table of 4 employees. Granted they were talking, neither of ten acknowledged me to say "hello, we'll be right with you, have a seat...." NOTHING. I then use my common sense to go sit at a table thinking perhaps someone will acknowledge me ... ha! 13 minutes have no gone past and still no acknowledgement. Several employees are standing around, walking around doing nothing. I walked in with a red hoodie, so it's not like I went unnoticed. Customer service is BIG to me, being that I am photographer and spend hundreds of thousands both in equipment I need as well as the Apple store... this is theeee only one I've been to, where the customer service/ greeting is completely whack! Mind you it's Monday, and the population of mall is slim, so you're not that busy. Get it together guys. With the cost of the phone, you would think that you would be able to replace a part without breaking your bank account and that the store would provide exceptional customer service. Yes, there's AppleCare. But that's still an additional cost on top of service. I wasted two and a half hours of my life waiting for my phone to be fixed.
