I have a MSI GS75 stealth 9sf laptop, about 3 years old, that was basically falling apart due to me leaving the heavy screen up and open for the the whole 3 years, when I would close the screen, I would close it from the right top corner, adding weight to the right side of screen, causing the hinges and bracket on the right side to fall apart. I had to use electrical tape, to tape my screen to the base of laptop, to keep it from falling apart. I have over $1,000 in music software and tons of files, that I didn't want to lose, also I left laptop plugged into charger nonstop, causing the battery to go bad (internal battery, so I couldn't just buy a new one and replace. I called multiple repair companies, and they didn't want to work on my MSI. Ruben is the village PC wizard. He knows computers in and out. I am a PC gamer and have a basic knowledge of hardware/software. With that said I wanted to upgrade from an old Nvidia GPU to a newer AMD GPU. Everything had gone smooth on my end until I tried updating the drivers. Screen went blank and I attempted to navigate through the BIOS to try and fix the problem. I tried troubleshooting my problem but I made the problem worse instead. I can not recommend this company enough. I recently had the hard drive go out on my work laptop. I work remotely and my company has no IT department to speak of so I told our CEO that I would get it taken care of locally. I found Reuben and his company 4PCTechs through a referral at one of those "we fix your hard drive for xxx.xx amount" places because I didn't think it was totally shot. He opened it up ran some scans and told me that they data was there, I ran home to grab my external hard drive to transfer the data and returned with it. He transferred the data and we made plans for him to transfer my old data to a new PC hard drive and change my battery (which is also failing) by mid week for $325. I returned home and spoke with my CEO who changed his mind and wanted me to send my machine to the home office for repairs instead. Even though Reuben had already started working on it I had to make the phone call to tell him my situation. He was understanding even though I felt terrible as I had wasted an hour of his time. Ruben is AMAZING! My boyfriend's old MacBook screen had cracked off, essentially breaking the computer in half. I took the laptop to a few places for evaluation and quotes before I decided on Ruben. He is an expert and was honest and communicative. He explained everything that needed to be done in a way anyone would be able to understand, answered all my questions, and was available at all times of day (I literally texted him at 9pm and 7:30am on a few occasions, and he was quick to get back to me every time.) He placed an order for 2/3 of the parts that were broken, confident that he could fix the third part by hand. The parts were an expensive investment for him, but he didn't even have me place a deposit or ask for any payment before they arrived. His quote for the work was accurate though, so I knew how much I would be expected to pay for the repair once it was finished. Once the parts arrived, he told me it would take a few days to fix, but he texted me that night to tell me it was ready. My boyfriend is and works for high profile clients, so there was some concern regarding giving up the password to the main account on the computer, which Ruben totally understood and worked with us on. All in all, I am so happy that I went with Ruben for the repair, and so is my boyfriend. Finding the right computer repair person is just as stressful and scary as finding the right mechanic. I made a tragic mistake and deleted a folder containing all of our raw wedding videos. In a panic, I immediately bought a software online to recover the files that I've lost. Not knowing anything about data recovery, I saved the recovered files on the same external hard drive which is apparently a big no no. I then tried to open the recovered videos and only a few of the short clips would play. Not the important ones that I was hoping to get recovered. It was hard to get wireless reception to all locations. We hired Reuben to spec out a system and make it work. The Orbi system he got, with its satellites covers 8,000 sq ft and not only covers all area of the house but also by our pool and in my garage and tack room.
