Can I give them six stars? After a wild boot loop saga began on my phone, I was worried a lot of my data I had amassed would be lost forever. I wasn't sure where to look, and out of the blue, I decided to do some googling and came across this country with, needless to say, a very appealing name! After looking into it, I saw a couple of fantastic things that were green flags immediately: 1. The reviews were glowing (and here's another one - and I never write anything). People seemed to love the company's mission, and I even read that the founder (more in a sec!) created the company just for that reason: he didn't feel people should pay an outrageous amount of money to get their data back. 2. Brian himself. What a guy. He was active on a bunch of forums, and you could tell he put together a small, dedicated team who really valued that people trusted them with their services. And Brian and his team saw me through a bunch of the chaos, answering a bunch of my questions, putting me at ease, and then - through the wonders of the US postal service - procured all of my data again. (I'm backing it up right now - and if you're reading this right now, back up your data too!!) So, yeah. This company is about as legit as it comes, and if you're looking for data recovery in any capacity, you've found the pinnacle in compassionate professionalism right here. Keep on keeping on, team! You're rocking it. read more

Choose these folks for your data recovery needs! I had two WD (called Western Digital when they drives were made) HDDs that I needed data from. I was unable to recover data from them in different ways. Disc one was an external drive that would not power on. I tried removing it from its external enclosure and powering it from another, more different enclosure to no avail. The system was indeed down. Disc two was an internal drive that used to be my C drive- my boot drive. I removed it from an old computer after it stopped booting and put it into an external enclosure. Several different computers (Mac & PC) would recognize it sporadically, though none could access the data on it- error codes always came up. Before I removed it, from the old computer, I tried booting from an optical disc and other assorted methods, many other assorted methods... I believe I was very thorough in my efforts. I sent both in and received near 100% recovery. They said it was 100% from one and 99.9% from the other but I am unable to find that .1%. I got all of this for just barely above the $300 price in their name (each, not total). So for about $600 total (including new discs on which my recovered data was transferred and return shipping) I got this incredible service. The total price I paid for both discs at 300DDR is less than I was quoted at several other places for one disc. At each step they were great communicators, from their receipt of the discs to my receipt of the recovered data. I hope I never need their services again but should, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend them. read more

300DDR: Ticket: 73650 Excellent service and very professional. 300 Dollar Data Recovery thoroughly evaluated my failed 6 TB Western Digital hard drive. When they determined that my unusual firmware issue required additional specialized assistance, they went above and beyond by helping me find the right solution rather than simply giving up on my case. Their assistance ultimately resulted in approximately 98% of my files being successfully recovered! I truly appreciate their honesty, communication, professionalism, and dedication throughout the process. Highly recommended! read more

I used to backup my files regularly but I got lazy after moving cross country a year ago. Imagine how distraught I was when last month, one my SSDs failed due to a corrupt MFT. And worse it was the one that held all my photos over the last couple of years. I'm an engineer by trade and with other files, I might have tried to rescue them myself. For these important photos, however, I decided to go with the professionals. I did a bunch of research trying to find the best data recovery service to use and $300 Data Recovery turned out on top. The employees here are very professional and responsive. I submitted my chances form at 7:30PM on a Saturday and they got back to me within an hour. I was not expecting a response over the weekend. They gave very clear instructions on how to package and send off my SSD. I dropped it off at UPS the next day and by Wednesday, they confirmed they received the device and added me to the queue. Apparently there weren't too many people in line before me so I received a positive response the very next day. 100% of sectors recovered! A couple of days later they were completely done and after I confirmed they recovered my files (they send a master list of all files) and I paid ($300 fee + $105 recovery transfer drive + $25 shipping), they shipped my drive back. Total time from my first contact to receiving my data back: 16 days, and this was including Thanksgiving in between. I am very satisfied with the service I got from $300 Data Recovery. Hopefully I never run into drive trouble again (it certainly made me backup my files more frequently), but if I ever need help, I'll definitely contact them again. Now I can finally post all my Yelp reviews from November and December that I was missing photos for... read more

Outstanding and lifesaving service! Lifesaving...I usually take precautions to back up my files across a few external drives in order to avoid having to use a service like $300 Data Recovery (I mean c'mon...who wants to spend money on this service unless one absolutely has to?). Well I failed to do so and consequently ALL MY FILES that were on one drive and are crucial to my business. I was in a panic. At 1st I went the cheap route...doing it myself. I did this until I knew I was in over my head. After a search on Yelp I came across a few data recovery services. Most were pricy and their pics looked like they came from stock photos or AI generated. Boooo! That's where $300 DR stuck out. Real pics and real reviews. I reached out, filled out the questionnaire and made the appointment to have my hard drive serviced. Bless this team! They explained the problem and were able to retrieve 100% of my stuff. Thank goodness! To put it simply, they under promised and over delivered! They were being totally honest with the possibility that all my data may not be recovered. Honesty is all anyone wants and this is what you get with $300 DR. In short...results may vary depending on the circumstances. You can opt to buy a new drive with them or bring in your own after recovery. So if this is a service you need, I absolutely recommend $300 Data Recovery. Simply the best! read more

I discovered 300DDR on YouTube after watching Brian's interview (youtube from 8 years ago). He came across as very knowledgeable, passionate about his work, and genuinely focused on helping customers. Before sending my hard drive, I spent a lot of time researching the company. All I could find were positive reviews, which actually made me a little nervous because most companies have at least some negative feedback. I still wasn't sure if they were legitimate, and I was worried about whether my drive would arrive safely or if they would actually be able to recover my data. Before contacting 300DDR, I took my drive to a local computer repair shop. They had it for more than a week, and every time I followed up, I was told they would call me back. After several days, they finally contacted me, likely because I kept checking in, and unfortunately told me they could not recover the data. I then contacted another data recovery company, but they quoted me between $500 and $2,000 and would also charge an $85 diagnostic fee. I was really concerned about spending that much money without knowing whether they could recover anything. One thing I appreciated about 300DDR was that they do not charge a diagnostic fee, which gave me much more confidence in giving them a try. After doing more research, watching additional videos, and reading Reddit discussions, I still found overwhelmingly positive feedback about 300DDR. So, I decided to send them my drive. Once they received it, the process was impressive. They notified me immediately that my drive had arrived, and within 24 hours they had already evaluated it. They informed me that they could recover 74.46% of the data and explained that a head swap could potentially recover more. What I appreciated most was that any additional fee was only for the replacement parts and materials, not for labor. They also provided me with a link showing a detailed list of the files, photos, and videos they were able to recover, allowing me to make an informed decision before moving forward. Since most of my important files were included, I chose to proceed with the 74.46% recovery. Throughout the entire process, their communication was excellent. They kept me updated every step of the way and were professional, transparent, and honest about my options. Their pricing was also far more reasonable than the other companies I contacted. I can honestly say that all of the positive reviews I read were accurate. 300DDR exceeded my expectations, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they did. My hard drive contained priceless memories dating back to 2013, including videos of my children, wedding memories, family photos, and other important files. I had almost given up hope of ever seeing them again. No words can truly express how thankful I am to the entire team at 300DDR for helping me recover data that I thought was lost forever. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of data recovery services. One final piece of advice: if you decide to use 300DDR, make sure you are on the correct website. My husband searched for them and found several different websites, which caused some confusion. Take a moment to verify that you are visiting the official 300DDR website before sending your hard drive. Thank you, 300DDR, for giving me back memories that I thought were gone forever read more

We had the nightmare of our hard drive crashing with precious photos taken since the 90's! I had stopped making photo albums and just relied on looking on my computer for sweet memories. I didn't have a backup either because I honestly didn't think about it. We drove over 3 hours to get to this establishment because I read the reviews and I heard they are reliable and awesome. It's 100% true. I was so grateful that they were able to recover ALL the photos and videos! I wasn't expecting that because I knew that's not guaranteed, so of course I am grateful they were able to recover it all! They are a professional company, and I would definitely highly recommend them!! Lesson learned. I bought an extra hard drive to back that up. Lol Thank YOU!! read more

$300 Data Recovery - Data Recovery Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I'm extremely clumsy and over the years I have spilled coffee on a laptop a few times, fried my laptop a few months ago from plugging it into the wall in Mexico during a lighting storm, and dropping a hard drive. This is the only place I go to. It was recommended to me by my twin sister Shauna Baker who is also a frequent customer here due to our ADHD. I have recommended this place to more than a few friends who work in film and television who have also come here to get their devices fixed. Maybe one day I can get a referral discount?!? Because I know I'll be coming back. read more

I can hardly begin to express how much this place saved my significant other and myself from a seemingly small accident that would have resulted in the loss of over 10 years' worth of professional and personal data stored on an external hard drive. All it took was me accidentally knocking the drive off a desk to cause it to stop working and freeze up upon trying to access my SO's extremely important files. In a panic, we did our research and found several glowing recommendations for $300 Data Recovery and decided to drop off the hard drive as soon as possible. We received regular updates regarding the status of our recovery and were informed within days that over 99% of our data had been recovered. We picked it up a day after that and were overjoyed to see all her files safe and sound when we got home. I learned the hard way that data recovery isn't cheap, but this company really came through for us in our time of need and were transparent regarding how much we'd have likely had to pay at other professional places. We're taking this as a vital lesson learned in the importance of having multiple and frequent backups for sensitive data. As I write this, we're currently in the process of making multiple backups of the data this company saved for us. read more

they did what they said they would do. most of the files were recovered and it was done in a timely manner.

This review for July 2024 is long overdue. I was devastated when I found out my external hard drive was corrupted. It had thousands of files, photos, and computer backups going all the way back to 2013. I needed to find a reliable data recovery service, so I turned to Reddit, where several people recommended $300 Data Recovery. One of those days, I decided to drive down from San Francisco to LA to drop off my corrupted hard drive, along with a new one I picked up at Target for them to use if the recovery was successful. A few days later, Brian emailed that he was able to recover all files. The service ended up costing $500, plus the $180 or so I spent on the new hard drive. Very expensive, but honestly, it was worth it to get everything back. If you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend giving them a try. read more

They did a great job recovering my data within reasonable price range. I would recommend its service.

I had my main external drive crash and 300DDR was prompt in responding to my email for an estimate, about $400. They diagnosed, scanned and transferred in little over 2 days. Amazing prices and work by the team at 300DDR! Saved me from rebuilding curriculum designed over 15 years! read more

My feelings here are a bit mixed and I'm sure that depends on the results. I accidentally deleted files from my C drive in a hurry to complete an urgent task when my computer was running out of space. I tried data retrieval softwares and no luck. I immediately looked for the professionals and found this place. It had amazing reviews and I was hoping to be one of those customers leaving a 5 star review. I dropped off my M.2, hopeful and excited for their service. I even paid the extra $200 for expedited service. It took them a few days while they ran their deep scans for any lost data. Their communication process was okay. There were times where I didn't get a response. When I picked up my drive and did my own search for all the folders they recovered, I wasn't able to find what I needed which was disappointing. They told me they retrieved everything they possibly could even though all the files in the drive I found were from my desktop. Overall, I do think they tried hard to retrieve what they could. It would've been nice for them to let me know before hand that it wasn't going to work out. If a similar situation arises in the future, perhaps they'll still be my go to place. Let's hope I won't need to. read more

When all hope seemed lost, we found you. My fiance and I have been in the midst of planning our wedding. I've had her scan a large portion of her childhood photos in an effort to put together a slideshow. Half of her other childhood photos were on an external hard drive and I asked her to bring it so we can start selecting photos from there as well. Turns out the drive was dead. It was not spinning, but the power was getting to it. We did some initial troubleshooting. Took it out of the external case, plugged it into the computer via USB to SATA and once more directly into SATA in our PCs. Nothing. I brought it to a local shop and they recommended DriveSavers and mentioned the last customer paid $3,500. THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. The average American can't even afford a car repair worth a few hundred bucks. I told my fiance that we might be out of luck and that if she decides the memories are worth $3,500 I'll support her, but I can't pay for it. Upon searching reddit I found a good handful of people recommending $300 data recovery. I inquired and almost got a response right away. Answered some questions, got a recommendation of service and options. We went to Walmart and bought a bunch of bubble wrap, hit up the post office and sent it out as soon as we could because I was leaving for Japan in just a few days. By the time I got back from my trip, the drive also came back. Recovered maybe 99% of the data transferred onto the replacement drive. I just have to say that preserving memories definitely comes at a high cost and can be prevented, but boy are we happy we found you. Slideshow has been created and we have many more memories to come. We'll always think of this company as a miracle worker. read more

This company is amazing! My external Seagate hard drive failed and I had the last 10 years of data on it. It was devastating to lose access to all that data and important files with tax and financial documents I spent years refining. I looked into data recovery companies including Seagate's only data recovery partner as well as some big name and small business local companies. They all wanted thousands of dollars (around $1500 to $4K and up). I felt like my data was being held for ransom and I was going to have to pay the extortionists. I contacted "It's Binh Repaired" computer repair guy and he was so kind he told me to go to $300 Data Recovery in L.A. I was concerned about sending it somewhere and whether this company was legitimate. Binh said "what's the difference between dropping it off locally or at the post office? It's not like they will let you watch them work on it." I watched the video on their website about the process, and seeing Brian, the owner being interviewed, I could tell he was an honest small business owner and I was really impressed with his technical knowledge and equipment in the video - especially the soldering part! Even the confidentiality part was well explained on their website and this team is small and they all take sensitive data seriously. The entire process- from when they received the drive and logged it in was so impressive. They began working on it right away and the communication from step to step was frequent and thorough. I was so grateful that my data was recovered by this team. I sent in my "chances" form. Everything Brian the owner has done to set up a top notch small business is very impressive. I wish larger companies would operate like this with the excellent customer service. Most of the other companies I talked to seemed to want to want to exploit people who lost their data. I am really grateful to Brian and his whole team for recovering my data and for charging a reasonable price in the market. read more

I had a corrupted microSD card and yes, spoiler alert, they recovered all of my data. But I would still be writing this review and giving them 5 stars even if they hadn't. What a great experience! From beginning to end, all communications from 300DDR were prompt, honest, and detailed. I appreciate that they were realistic and upfront in their initial estimate by citing a likely ~50% chance at recovery. Their realism and honesty went a long way in my decision to ultimately choose 300DDR. Everything flowed seamlessly once I committed. I was given detailed instructions on how to ship the card and choose a secondary drive to ship as well. The company was extremely communicative throughout the process and manages cases through a ticketing system that gave me access to a running log of all back and forth correspondence. Once the data were recovered, I soon received the shipment back from 300DDR and everything was on the secondary drive as expected. I had a fabulous experience and highly recommend this company. read more

Their name says it all. If you have a bad or damaged computer drive of any kind, they will recover the data for $300. If they can't, you only pay $100. My external hard drive with ALL of my family photos crashed and appeared to be beyond repair. I gave $300 Data Recovery a try and 3 days and $300 dollars later, I had all of my files back. Well worth every penny. The staff is friendly and very meticulous. I chose to drop my drive off with a new one to use for the transfer. I was leaving the state for a few months, so they mailed my drive to me for only $20. Great service and worth every red cent. If you are at your wits end with lost data, this is the place to use. I hope I never need their services again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to use them again. read more

I had four days of GoPro video footage on a recent trip to Disney World. Unfortunately, on the last night of our trip, the GoPro and microSD card crashed. I got back home to California and did a yelp business search and came across $300 data recovery. Wow, I was super impressed by not only the fact that they recovered about 95% of the videos and photos, but they are also super communicative throughout the entire process, and I felt very comfortable with what they were doing. The entire time from the time I emailed them initially to the time I got the new hard drive with my recovered videos was less two weeks and during this entire process, I got daily email updates from them on where they're at, so I felt that they had given me, and I'm sure all other customers high priority. Cost was super affordable and straightforward. If I can give 10 stars, I would. read more

$300 Data Recovery - Bad micro SD card - Data Recovery Near Me - Los Angeles, California

My company had a hard drive fail in a custom computer driving a large industrial machine. The machine manufacturer wanted to charge thousands of dollars to program a new drive and install it. We took the bad drive out ourselves, found $300 Data Recovery, and sent them the drive hoping for the best. $300 Data Recovery was able to buy the exact same drive that went bad, swap some parts, and fully recover the data from the bad drive; most importantly the OS and programs that drove the industrial machine. They then cloned the data from the recovered drive to a new SSD and once we got it back and installed it in the computer, it worked perfectly, saving us thousands of dollars. Communication was great every step of the way and even with a couple extra charges for the identical drive and cloning of the recovered drive, which they were very upfront could apply to my situation, the price was very reasonable and well worth the cost. I would not hesitate to use $300 Data Recovery again and have already been recommending them to others. read more

I am so happy that I was recommended $300 data recovery by another technician. I thought I would have to pay another company almost $2000 for a clean room recovery. I had a Seagate 2 TB external hard drive that wouldn't connect to my computer but you can hear the fan but no light. You ship your item, they inspect your item, they inform you what is found on your item, you pay the flat rate plus any applicable taxes, and in my case, a new drive from them and then they ship your item back. It took less than two weeks, probably would have been faster but I was on vacation for one week. I definitely recommend them and would definitely use them again. They have great staff that answer emails quickly. read more

I recently used this firm which my son found for me, to help save my rock band music files and all my family pictures and videos. I was extremely skeptical...I mean, a company in California? with an unusual name? ship them all my data?? In a nutshell, I could not have been happier with the results! They exceeded the timelines and results that were promised, every team mate involved kept me in the loop via email at every step, and involved me near the end to make sure I got exactly what I was paying for! They really have this down to a fine tuned process. Just be advised, they will need to ask for details and things, but its all for a good reason. I can't fully explain how happy I am that I tried $300 Data Recovery! Recently I accidentally knocked my external hard drive off the desk it was on, and when I plugged it back in, it had clicking/beeping sounds and my hard drive wasn't starting up. I was panicked, and having never been through this I started looking online and found out that this could be a much bigger and more expensive problem than I realized! Now I was devastated realizing there was a chance I might not be able to get my data back, AND that if I did I might end up having to pay upwards of a couple thousand if the damage was severe! When I walked in Emely very patiently went through the process and was completely upfront about the pricing, and answered all of my questions. Once work began on my device they were always in touch with me, sending me updates along the way, which really helped to set my mind at ease. I was SO happy when they informed me that they were able to retrieve 100% of my data! They told me that the heads inside my drive (which read the data from the "platters") were stuck/crashed onto the middle of the platters, but were still functioning so no new parts were needed! I don't have words for how happy/relieved I was! Not only did I get my data back, but I easily saved about $1100! From the moment I walked $300 Data Recovery was upfront, honest, transparent, professional and just great at what they do. They opened on time as advertised, and two of us were already waiting anxiously outside, 20 minutes too early. I mean let's face it, you come here because you're holding something broken with a billion important files and photos on it. That was me. And the other guy waiting with his clunky PC tower. We're talking about my 1TB external hard drive that I dropped in my parents driveway ONLY because I didn't want to come back outside to grab the pie. [insert grocery meme where a girl carries all 40 bags]. Grievous mistake. I thought it was no big deal, and wasn't even worried about my 14 years of photos, videos, design files, 2 kids born, their birthdays, photo shoots, my old modeling photos, the list goes on and...I wasn't worried. Brought it into this place and they were very systematic. You need to register the whole thing online and only show up with your issue number, otherwise don't bother. No small talk. No customer service. Say your number to the girl, and walk away please. Yeah, I figured out the apparent STFU policy when the PC tower guy asked for help registering and she coldly pointed to the QR code on the window like DUH. Poor guy. I got my fateful email in a great turnaround of 2 days, but it said it was "IMPOSSIBLE" to recover my data. Gut punch, guys. The email was extremely long and explained everything. It also included photos of my hard drive. They also added one last nail in the coffin and explained it was not about just paying more somewhere else, it was just plainly "IMPOSSIBLE" due to irreparable damage. That was months ago and I'm still mourning my memories lost............... read more

Needed to find a place to recover data from a clicking hard drive and found this spot on Yelp. Most places were quoting me $1000+ minimum, but this place said it would be $300, $400, or $500, depending on different factors. I dropped the external hard drive off in person after filling out the drop off form. It was super quick, and there were plenty of safety measures put in place. Over the course of the next week or so, the company sent me emails with any updates and were super responsive when I had questions. Ultimately, my repair was quoted at $500, with 76% of my data being restorable. They offered to look into a donor drive/head swap for free and quoted me about $160 more. I ended up not needing to have my data restored after all was said and done, and they gave me no trouble at all. I did have to pay a $100 labor fee, which I felt was super fair. It was a bit of a drive but ended up being so worth it. I seriously appreciated their excellent customer service and quick work!
