I had such a great experience at The Device Lab! They fixed my daughter's iPhone 11 Pro screen and it works perfectly now. What really stood out to me was that they actually had the screen in stock, every other place I called had to order it and told me it would take a couple of days, plus they were quoting me $20-$40 more. Not only was The Device Lab able to do the repair the same day but their pricing was super fair. On top of that, the vibe of the shop is honestly amazing. The moment I walked in, I noticed how warm and welcoming everything felt. I even complimented the owner because it's so different from the typical plain, white-wall repair shops. It felt chic, cozy, and thoughtfully put together. Love how he immediately gave the credit to his wife, you can tell he is extremely proud of her work and rightfully so because I would hire her to make my business look as cute as The Device Lab. If I could give them more stars I would. My iPhone was damaged and I had not backed it up for quite a while. The Apple Store referred a data saving company,I called them and they said it could cost me anywhere between $700-3900, if they could recover data. AT&T recommended The Device Lab. I had a little too much fun on my Hawaiian getaway, had a piña colada in hand and my camera on a barstool top when It tipped over and broke my touchscreen on my Canon Mark ii camera. I was a little bummed since this is a very expensive camera and was afraid that the repair would cost so much that I'd just have to buy a whole new one. But I decided to shop around and see if it was worth it. Its hard to find good camera repair places now a days, and I did go to one I've passed by for many years in Studio City. To be honest they didnt seem to hopeful to fix it quickly as they made it seem the part was hard to get and the labor was extensive. They quoted me a price that was high but they broke it down on why it would be that. I said I'd give it a few days to think about it. They pressured me to hurry as their repairman only comes ever so often and is slammed. But LUCKILY for me, I had reached out The Device Lab here on Yelp, and they called me literally as I was walking out the door with that shop. Austin called and I could just tell from his demeanor and energy that he not only knew what he was doing, but was a real genuine stand up guy. I told him what the other shop just quoted me and how long it would be, he said he would have to look at the damage but he could probably do it for what would be $125 less than them and sooner. I went straight to him. I knew immediately walking in his shop that this was the place. The store has a futuristic clean esthetic that feels cozy. Austin greeted me with compassion and knowledge, which made me feel safe to leave my camera there. He kept true to his quote, as he showed me how long lead times where with the part and didn't hide anything from me. I really appreciated the transparency. I offered to pay a deposit, he said that wasn't necessary to just leave the camera there and he will call me when its ready. He estimated about 3 weeks, and he was right on the money. I just picked up my camera and it looks and works as if its brand new. I feel certain now that any electronic repair that I need in the future, that The Device Lab is my new go to. I was so happy to see a local shop here in Thousand Oaks. Austin was really a big help. He offered me free diagnostics which was a plus! He explained to me in details the issue on my Bose Module 500. The defective diode was under spec so instead of just replacing it, he recommended to upgrade the spec which was a very good move. Just picked up our fixed Xbox! Austin and his team are great. Diagnosed and fixed the issue very quickly and did it at a very fair price. I love that the initial cost for the diagnosis is put toward the end cost after figuring out what is wrong. They made me feel comfortable leaving our stuff there and the office itself is so cute. I had my husband's smart watch fixed by Austin at The Device Lab. He did a great job and the cost was really reasonable. I have an old laptop (at least by laptop standards) and it was booting up really slowly and it kept kicking me off the Internet. I knew just where to take it - to Austin at The Device Lab! Within minutes, Austin looked at the laptop and told me that the hard drive was dying and the internal Internet component was not working. He told me that he could replace the hard drive, transfer all my programs and information from my old drive and install a new Internet drive. Austin told me that an external Internet drive was cheaper than an internal one and that I could buy an external drive from Amazon. I told him I was afraid I would order the wrong thing from Amazon and I would pay him to order and install it. Austin told me that he didn't want to charge me to get the drive and so he stood there while I ordered the part from Amazon to make sure I bought the right thing. He is so honest! Austin repaired everything and it works great! He may add home services and also custom built computers to his existing services! I can't wait until he does because we have issues at home that I am sure he can fix. This place is so much better than any chain store. Personal service at reasonable prices. The screen on my iPad Air stopped working after I dropped it. After getting several repair quotes for just under $300, I reached out to The Device Lab. They offered to try to reseat the screen for significantly less, and if that didn't work replace at $50 less than other estimates I received. They picked it up from my work, and when reseating didn't work, replaced the screen and returned it the next day. Repair came with a one year warranty.
