$10 for bacon and eggs? Are they for real?! I ended up ordering the eggs benedict because it was only a dollar more than the bacon and eggs. They were quite good, though the eggs were a bit overdone and it was heavy enough of a meal that I could only finish half. I would have been happy if they offered a half-plate option. My daughter had the oatmeal which was also quite expensive for what it was. All told a small cup of oatmeal, my meal, a cup of coffee, and tip ran me almost $27. For that price I could have gone to Irregardless Cafe or Weathervane! I was really expecting this place to have prices more in line with somewhere like Big Ed's or Brigg's. Lesson learned head somewhere else if you're looking for a basic breakfast meal. read more

Any place that that has beignets with honey flavored with real orange rind is alright with me. Also, they served some of the best bacon I've ever had. Seriously. The eggs were good. The pancakes tasted a tiny bit mediciney like the batter had been sitting too long or something. The coffee was not great either. But like I said, those beignets were outstanding. We are so glad to have a brunch place near Cary. The prices are a bit high, but that bacon might have been worth it! read more

A great breakfast spot with a variety of options! I got the huevos rancheros which were delicious! The black beans and eggs were on point! The tortilla the eggs were served in were too fried & crunchy for my liking. But overall the dish was tasty! The veggie omelet was good as well but had too much cheese, I may ask for less next time! We also had great service which made the brunch that much better! Kudos to Egg Cafe! read more

If people believe this to be a good breakfast place then Motel 6 is a palace. The food is not that great at all. I ordered some eggs which came out runny, as well as covered in the gravy from the biscuits. The gravy was powdered flavored, which was better then the cardboard bacon. Coffee had acidic tones leaving me to purchase an additional cup from another store after leaving. Of course the decor was nice, that's how they earned the 1 star. read more

Substantially less food, substantially less service...The Morrisville location is not what it used to be. It really pains me to write this as this has been my favorite brunch treat for over two years now. My fiance and I have frequented this location since 2014 and had received excellent service and excellent food until our most recent visit today. Calling Ahead: It started with my phone call to be placed on the call ahead list. The woman who answered the phone was mostly unintelligible and asked to put me on hold when I asked to be added to the list. That's a normal thing for a hostess to do, so I said "yes." However, I would eventually be on hold for ten minutes. (I waited ten minutes for her to take down my first name and phone number :( The Employees: Once at the restaurant, I observed the same hostess give poor service to two other parties. The hostess was very pleasant, but was untrained/clueless in the art of providing good service. First, I heard her loudly tell a coworker (within earshot of the customer in question) that it was the customer's fault for a mix-up made on a call-ahead request. The way the customer lifted her eyebrows in disbelief told me, a casual observer, that the mix-up was anything but the customer's fault. Secondly, I observed her inform another party that their table was ready before just walking away from the hosting station. One man in the party exclaimed, "Did she really just tell us our table was ready and then walk away?!!" At this point, my fiance and I are thinking that the hostess needs some training, but she is only one employee. Unfortunately, our waiter was not much better. He was not rude, but he was not pleasant either. We waited 35 minutes to receive our food and our waiter did not check on us once after we ordered. (He did not even speak to us for 25 minutes.) When the food did arrive, he sort of dropped my plate on the table, destroying the chef's plating. The Food: I noticed they had streamlined the pancake menu pricing into a few easier to understand options. However, the pricing seemed pretty consistent with what I remember. Unfortunately, the serving size has gotten considerably smaller. The pancakes are substantially smaller (they are 3 inches smaller in diameter) and thinner. In conclusion, I received substantially less food and substantially less service for the same amount of money. I may try the Durham location to discern if the entire chain has gone downhill or just the Morrisville location, but I can't imagine going back to Morrisville after the experience we had today. read more

Well my wife and I played hooky today on my last day of vacation, so she planned for us to go out to a nice breakfast without the kids. So she picked another broken egg. Well 1015 on a Thursday morning is apparently a great time for a lot of people to go, just not us. The coffee was fine. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. But when 11 am came around and we watched people who sat down after us get their food, bill and have the table Re seated. My wife and I started getting anxious. Sure enough the manager swooped right in and said the meal would be on them. Well. That's nice. And he also said our food would be right out. Well 10 more minutes go by and another patron came over and asked us what was going on and wondered if it was our service or what, we said well they said there was kitchen issues and that our food was coming out. So another 5 minutes go by and we hear the doors open and they bring food out... only to not our table but to a table that got there at 11... so... we left. I left a tip on the table for the coffee. And let's just say we won't be going back We went to pdq and the thing we kept saying was, you know the best thing about this meal, it's on our table. read more

Tried Another Broken Egg Cafe today while out shopping with the family - hubby and 2 kids.. Excellent! Lots of yummy choices. Kids meals have good portions and good choices/prices. We had the Eggs Blackstone and BellaWich - both were terrific! Also great service...Will definitely go back and highly recommend to others. read more

A place that should be known for making good egg products (their name says it all!) was an utter disappointment. I ordered an omelette and my wife ordered a simple dish of over-easy eggs with sausage, but the eggs came out over cooked! How can you make a bag over-easy egg? This place is over-priced and the food quality is bad! Coming back to this restaurant again will not cross my mind ever! read more

We went for brunch on a Sunday. The wait was reasonable. The ambiance was fine with lots of Sun light and creative crockery! I liked those pieces of display. We found that the food quality and portions do not match the price. The service was not very hospitable. Although we enjoyed trying it out, we will not go back again. read more

Fantastic service and delicious food. They gave us beignets with marmalade because it was our first visit. They were delicious. The home made sausage was made with their plantation pepper sauce. Service was very attentive, and extra iced tea to go and they have stevia/truvia. The grits and standard breakfast...all good. read more

We had an okay experience on a Saturday morning visiting for brunch. Be prepared to wait or call ahead. Our food was fine, but nothing special. I wouldn't recommend the chorizo in the Dear Lucy omelette. Service was good. read more

Waited over an hour for this!!! What a colossal waste of time!!! Don't bother- if you decide to waste your time call ahead-they take call aheads first read more

Breakfast was wonderful. Pancakes, biscuits, bacon, eggs - all very well prepared. A bit pricy, but certainly worth it for a treat.

Excellent food! Ambience was impeccable and the service was on point! I would recommend this for breakfast or brunch!

There was no wait when I came here on a weekday afternoon. The service was great, and I loved how clearly marked all the vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu were. I ate the BellaWich and it was fantastic. My mom had a waffle and bacon, also great! The portions were big enough that I brought half home to eat later. The decor is a little bland, and the prices are a bit high, especially for drinks and extra sides. read more

3 of us ate here along with one child. Food varied from mediocre to terrible. The crayfish and Andouille sausage omelet was surprisingly bland and was missing ingredients on half the omelet (1.5 stars). The cinnamon french toast was the best, but was still only OK. The southwest scramble was actively bad. The chorizo tasted closer to ground beef - completely flavorless. Same thing on the pepperjack cheese - it ended up being bland and flavorless. Overall the dish had almost no taste. The final straw was the bacon - it was so bad I had to spit it out. That is the first time in my life I've not finished the bacon anywhere. Service was mediocre also. Prompt order and delivery of food, but the waitress never followed up to check on the food or offer refills on drinks. read more

Wow!!! Is the only way I can start this review!! From the amazing technology they use to alert you when your table is ready to the flavorful food It was Amazing!!! But, their is one person that this review is for and her name is Jaclyn!!!! Wow! Jaclyn was my Families server and did she leave an impression on our hearts!! Jaclyn was efficient, she defined and confirmed our order which we loved she was an absolute pleasure because of her bubbly personality and sureness of herself and the company she works for. She brought back nostalgic memories of my wife and I serving days and had us second guess what the heck we were doing in corporate America "Why can't we be a Jaclyn we asked each other lol". Another Broken Egg Cafe - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Morrisville, North Carolina

Food is fine, but overpriced. I was a little disappointed because it felt like a chain. I try to avoid places like IHOP, which is what this reminded me of. Both times I've been, my boyfriend had food dropped on him. read more

The food was plentiful and tasted good. But bad service can ruin my experience very quick. We received very poor and slow service.

For a cajun themed restaurant it is obvious they don't train the waitstaff what an andouille sausage is. I ordered it and she brought out sausage, when I questioned it she started to argue then said she would go in the kitchen and make sure what she had brought was andouille sausage. She brought the guy at the next table regular sausage too. By the time the andouille sausage came out I had finished my breakfast so I asked for a box. We walked out the car and realized no one had picked up the boxes so we went back in and they had already thrown them away! Most restaurants give you a few minutes grace for you to realize you for forgot your food, obviously not the ABEC, if it had been busy I may have forgiven them but they weren't. I only went for the andouille sausage and never got it. read more

I liked this place, tasty food, good quantity, and quality is also good... Have been there just once, tasted two different entrees, would love to go again! read more

Very friendly staff, WONDERFUL food, clean/decorated nicely as any cafe could be! My friend Mark had heard about how good this place was from friends in LA. (where there are several locations), so we couldn't wait for the one in Morrisville to open. We've become "regulars" each Saturday morning. with a goal of trying everything on their menu.. and it just keeps getting better. I give them 5 stars! read more

I really want to give five stars but am refraining simply because i expect a breakfast food eatery to have fantastic coffee but unfortunately its far from smooth and as strong as motor oil! Eeek! Otherwise the food is always stellar!! Ps get the sticky bun!!!! read more

The food is great. The Mardigrass Ommellet is the Boom.... the took longer than expected. What cam I said, I was hungry so waited i stead of going somewhere else. Reason of my rating. read more

Good variety of tasty food for breakfast and brunch. City grits is amazing! Yelp says they don't take reservations, but they actually do - either via phone call, or in their own mobile app. read more

We had brunch here and really enjoyed the place and food. The waitress was super friendly and was sweet to our toddler. We had a basic breakfast place and it hit the spot. The coffee was good (very important to us) and the place is pretty family friendly...loud enough that our chatty toddler didn't really bother anyone. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Amazing breakfast place. Super cute inside, very bright and friendly atmosphere. This was our first time eating here and we were given a free plate of beignets to welcome us. They were awesome! Served with honey marmalade, my picky boyfriend even loved it. We both ordered the traditional breakfast (I know boring, right?) Everything on the plate was wonderful, the English muffin is housemade and they give you a garlic butter that makes the whole plate go from great to AmazeBALLS. Good coffee, great service. Highly recommend. read more

While most of my experiences here have been positive and the food is excellent the customer service is hit or miss. Perhaps just a bad day but our last waiter had attitude that could have affected his tip of I wasn't the type of person to look past someone having a rough morning. The lobster Brie omelette is outstanding as well as the eggs Benedict and French toast. The wait on the weekends is crazy long unless you get there early before Church lets out. read more

We are breakfast snobs and this place has a really large menu, so we were satisfied with the food. The beignets were amazing and the French toast was very good. However, it's a tad expensive and we absolutely hated our server. He kept checking on us every 10 seconds and trying to start full-on conversations with us while we were eating. The food is good enough to come back, but not sure we will be because of the price and service. read more

Yum! First time here but will be going to the Charlotte location soon. We sat on the patio to avoid the wait. Server was great and attentive and the food was good. I had the bananas Foster Waffle with a side of bacon (baked) and everything was delicious! Can't wait for my next visit!! read more

The food was excellent. The infused bloody mary was very good. Substituted an item without issue. Waitress was great. Atmosphere was nothing to rave about but for brunch I think that is okay. read more

I love this food! The service isn't that great though. Our waiter completely forgot we were there and the snobbish was a bit snobbish. The food was excellent and the portions are huge so I was able to feed my entire family (of 4) off the three meals we ordered. Make sure you know what you're in for when it comes to wait time however Sundays and Saturdays of course it's going to be busy and be prepared to wait. Besides that it's a Great place to meet during the week if you and your other girlfriends want to have a girls brunch. read more

I ordered an omelette to go. I created my own and every time at any restaurant I have one request that never ever gets satisfied. I want my omelette BURNT. I told that to the hostess and she kind of looked at me like "What?" And I said yep I want it burnt. I was anticipating the same results I always get but much to my surprise she asked me to look at it to make sure it was right and it was right! 5 stars for this place because they actually did what I asked! I'll be frequenting there when I'm on the way into the office! Great job guys! read more

Great place for a quick, but delicious meal. Everything was crisp and fresh. Highly recommended.

Two words that will make you lick your lips - Biscuit Beignets. They were absolutely wonderful. Service was great, food was brought quickly for a Saturday afternoon. Friendly staff, and I watched the other servers around us and their interactions with the customers. Def going back again. Very happy. read more

I'll start this review by saying I'm no booshie brunch snob and I'm easily pleased so I may not be the exact critic that will help sway your decision but I do know good flavors when I taste them and this place was great. They had an awesome menu. And everything I ordered was spot on. Wish i could remember what it was soni coupd recommend it). Check this place out. We did have to wait 15 minute or so which was no big deal. People should expect waits when they hit a brunch spot between 10a-12p especially on the weekends. read more

They need to hire better employees. We walked in and asked for a table for two only to be rudely told it would be a 15-20 minute wait, which is fine. Then, a couple of two came in right after us and asked for a table of two. They were seated immediately, when we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. I also called ahead to assure this wouldn't happen and was left on ringing three separate times. When we were waiting in the restaurant the phone constantly rang and the idiot at the front desk just looked at it and let it ring. This is completely absurd. It is unacceptable to have such awful service and employees, especially with a 91.0 sanitation rating. I will not be coming back to this despicable place. read more

Been here twice in the last month, and our meals were fantastic. Breakfasts are generously sized. The pumpkin waffle was fantastic! All 4 meals we had were great, and the service is friendly. read more

We went to try this restaurant a few weeks ago. After reading the reviews and menu we were pretty excited. The restaurant's decor and atmosphere is really nice. We were quickly seated (lunch on a weekday). We ordered the beignets. They were very good with or without the orange marmalade that they are served with. Unfortunately, after that things were just average. Our server wasn't very attentive/ disappeared after or food arrived. And the food left something to be desired. Most of it tasted like it came from frozen or canned especially the hash browns and crab cakes. The kicker was the fact that we had our 7 month old son with us and I took him into the restroom to change him and there was no changing table. This restaurant seemed good for kids and families but obviously not. So I got to wrap up a mediocre meal on the floor of a public restroom. I know this may not seem like a big deal to a lot of the people eating there but I was just really surprised that a brand new restaurant would have failed to install a changing table. Needless to say we won't be going back! read more

Easily one of our favorite brunch spots in the area. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and amazing food. Should note that if you're planning to visit on a weekend - be prepared to wait. Place gets packed, but it's usually well worth the wait. Really can't go wrong with any of their menu items; especially the seafood plates. read more
