Small stack of sweet potato pancakes
Staci H.

The food was great as always. The patio was perfect for such a beautiful day. The service was great. Everyone who came to my table were super attentive. I really enjoyed my solo birthday brunch.

This was our first time here and really enjoyed our visit. Nice variety of food on the menu. We were given a complimentary plate of warm biscuits with honey. We shared the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. I chose the Mountain Morning bowl, my niece ate the Avocado Melt sandwich, and the classic chicken and waffles meal. All were fresh and delicious. The waitress was nice and friendly. The decor was bright and colorful. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Definitely worth a trip back!

Fried chicken, collard greens, Mac and cheese

In full transparency, we listened to a family friend's eulogy during our visit (via Zoom). I mention this, to provide context regarding our experience. We ordered pecan pancakes (with sides), and fried chicken - with Mac and cheese (and for an up charge) collard greens. We also joined the "Tupelo Honey Club" to warrant free biscuits. Solid food, for sure. #TheGood: the peach accouterment served with the biscuits (soooo good). Collard greens - flavorful and tender. Mac and cheese - gooey greatness. Fried chicken - crispy greatness. Pecan pancakes - pecan praline to die for. #TheNotSoGreat: Food temp - Overall the food was served at room temp. Does that matter, absolutely! Fried chicken - my palate would appreciate less of the sweet element (most likely powered honey). I'll order without moving forward. While we loved the collards, we found how the greens and meats were chopped not the greatest. With that being said. I'm definitely being nitpicking, as we'd definitely order again. The pancakes were on the tougher side. Miss us with the sausage- we exchanged for bacon. Yelp helped us navigate parking. Overall the food quality and service was very good. Our biggest complaint would be food temperature! I like my food very hot! I'd definitely dine here again and this is definitely a fan favorite based on patrons. Service was great and we loved the southern charm aesthetic. Chain brunch/dinner: 4.4

We chose Tupelo Honey for a late lunch. I started with the biscuits and jam and tried the flank steak for the first time. The steak was cooked exactly as I requested, and the sides were delicious. The service was great, and the manager even came by to make sure everything was prepared properly. The restaurant was clean and, even with multiple large parties, we were attended to quickly.

What a wonderful spot! We came here for a birthday on a Saturday night, it wasn't too packed and the interior was very clean and nice. The food was AMAZING! We started with the Brussel sprouts, they were some of the best I've had in a while. Tender and delicious. For our mains we got the surf and turf, and the Asheville hot chicken and waffles. The steak and shrimp were the best my boyfriend has ever had in a restaurant. The shrimp is seasoned perfectly and the steak was tender and delicious. My chicken was flavorful, and the entire dish went very well together. Overall, this place is wonderful. The prices are great and so is the food. Definitely stop by!

Love love love! The food was delicious and very flavorful! Also, the waiter was very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back and try more options on the menu!! The parking lot was full, but there was ample street parking. Service was quick despite the restaurant being full.

Went to Tupelo Honey after the city of oaks race this past weekend. (Can't emphasize enough to make a reservation on days like this.) We were actually sat a few minutes early, which is rare. Our server, George, was working HARD. We ordered our drinks and got our food about 30ish minutes after ordering. It doesn't take this long, typically. It definitely was because of how packed it was from the race. I had the morning bowl, which had grits, potatoes, bacon, eggs, and cheese. I was a little worried about the potatoes not being cooked enough but was pleasantly surprised to find them nice and crispy. Overall, a great experience as always.

Great experience. The food and coffee was amazing!! Oddly it was packed but everything was extremely efficient. The server made great recommendations and the lighting and noise levels were extremely manageable.

I've been here plenty of time not sure how I didn't write a review yet. I went on a Tuesday evening while happy hour was still going on. It was Tini Tuesday so their house martinis were $3, I got the cosmopolitan and it was strong. The starters were also half off so I got some fried pickles and a cup of chicken potatoe soup. Everything was good so I'll go back again.

We've been to the flagship location and ours at home in Charlotte so we felt compelled to try the Raleigh location while dropping off our college-aged son. One thing is certain: Tupelo Honey is consistent. And by consistent, I mean consistently good! Kimmi was our server. She was great...attentive and kind. Anywhere that lets me have brunch items at 4pm wins my heart. I had a Southern Hospitality mimosa with peach and pineapple. You can choose a 5 or 9 oz portion. Guess which one I did? Of course, I got the 9oz and I'm glad because it was so good. My husband enjoyed his Boozy turkey old fashioned. We started with fried pickles. They were seasoned well and not overly breaded like some places. For my entree, I got the Sweet and spicy chicken and waffles with sriracha honey glaze and cilantro. If you like a sweet heat combo, then this is the dish to get. It was sooo good! This was our first visit to this location but it definitely won't be our last.

Tupelo Honey is always good and is always a vibe. Their menu changes frequently so it's always something new and tasty to try. We brought my mom with us this time and she loved they.

Tupelo Honey was highly recommended, so we made sure to dine here for brunch. Even though we likely didn't need one, I reserved a spot for us at 12pm on a Monday. We were seated right away and our food came within 5-7 minutes of ordering. Talk about fast! To start, we ordered the biscuits for a cause. They were fluffy and came with the most delicious jam. My boyfriend had the classic chicken and waffles and enjoyed. I had the Cobb salad and added grilled chicken. It was good, but almost fell over seeing that it was about $7 to add grilled chicken! Wow! My boyfriend is a vet so we enjoyed dining here on Veterans Day with a 10% discount and a free banana pudding dessert. I would have rated it a 4/5, but the special treatment for vets brought it up to a 5/5.

I really enjoyed Tupelo Honey! The wait was a tad long because it was busy, however the service was great despite them being busy. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean which is always a plus. The food was great and the portions were large. The menus items are priced well for the taste and size.

If it's a beautiful day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside instead. Still, the inside has a cozy, laid-back feel that works well. Shoutout to Qua, who was both the hostess and our server. She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.

He was kind, super attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and drink offerings. We ordered pomegranate mimosas. They were a delicious and refreshing addition to our girl time!! I ordered their new Salmon BLT and my friend ordered the Meat Lovers Omlette that was served with gouda grits. The salmon blt lived up to my expectations. It was light but filling and super flavorful. The star is the red onion and dill aioli. My only complaint is the bread. It's tasty bread, it's just not sturdy enough fpr all of the sandwich ingredients. I would have appreciated if it were something thicker or served as an open faced sandwich. The sweet potato fries were fresh and crispy. The fresh pepper sprinkle on them gave them a new dynamic for me. My friend enjoyed the meat lovers omelet and she let me taste the gouda grits. OMG talk about flavor. I'm going back just for those damn grits!! I like very textured grits and these were that on top of perfectly seasoned and cheesed! Geeze!!!!!!!!!! Besides their massive wall of spirits, another component that i appreciated was their inclusive restroom offerings. The door signs are genius! This place looks like it's also great in the evening and late night. They certainly earned a customer in me! Can't wait to go back for more grits!!!!

We entered through a big heavy wooden door into the quasi-dark atmosphere and were promptly seated, despite most of the tables being occupied. We were given a two top and started with chips and guacamole. I was impressed with the chips, they were a little extra thick, had tiny bubbles in them. Certainly a far departure from the typical thin, overly salty chip found at most restaurants and grocery stores. Excellent guac with a little pico and lime wedge on the side. I ordered the Baja bowl with shredded adobo chicken. The bowl had green rice, black beans, a whole lot of kale, tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, crema, and cilantro. It needed a little more, so I added in some of the guac, a few chips I crumbled in my hands for some crunch, and some fresh lime juice. Noah did a good job keeping our water glasses full and he was quite friendly. However, the restroom situation is a bit difficult. There are two small unisex bathrooms, both of which have to be locked. There can't be more than one person in there at the same time, so plan accordingly. Granted, since there isn't much space in the restaurant, it's not as if they have a ton of options.

The pieces of fish were large and thick. -- The Manchego-herb Biscuits were awesome. One order comes with four small biscuits. Crust was flaky, the inside was soft and moist, and the flaky salt was the cherry on top. -- The Seared Duck Breast was phenomenal. The duck was juicy and tender and salted well. The skin was thick, sooo flavorful, and melted in your mouth but I would've liked a little more crispiness on the outside. I enjoyed the mix of fresh vegetables and warm cooked vegetables served with the dish. -- The Lemon Yuzu Tart was a nice bright and rich dessert. The tartness comes from the jam on top of the tart but it doesn't overwhelm the dish. The creme brulee style top was a nice touch. The buttermilk ice cream was more on the icier side than creamy. They swapped silverware between courses and cleared even the smallest crumbs from the table -- the kind of thoughtful touches you expect at a higher-end restaurant. The food was outstanding. We shared the Cajun ribeye, which they split for us, and was absolutely amazing and full of flavor. The pork belly appetizer and salad were also excellent. My son had the duck and loved it. One note: my mom ordered the seafood paella without seafood. The staff did warn that it would still have a fish-based flavor, and it ended up being very fishy and not great. In hindsight, it would have been better to choose a dish that didn't require modification. The price remained the same despite removing the seafood, which is understandable but still worth noting. Overall, the pricing felt fair given the quality of the food, the setting, and the standout service. This is a beautiful, memorable dining experience and I would definitely return and recommend it.
