Bottom line: Really enjoyable first visit to Morning Ritual. This coffee shop/cafe served up a tasty latte and Egg + Cheese Scramble to start my day off right. Helpful service in a nicely decorated small cafe, a nice stop for getting a morning going. The Deets: Deciding to venture out a bit to try some place new, I found Morning Ritual on the trusty Yelp app and headed off to there. It is joined along side The Goat restaurant on the edge of an apartment complex campus near Brier Creek. I like the look of the building and while noticing there is outside seating available, there is a convenient take out window on the side as well. I went inside and liked the warm, inviting but still slightly modern look of the cafe style seating and ordering area. There are a couple of seats within range of a power outlet and there is WiFi but note it is public/no password/unsecured access, it appears. Their menu shows a good array of beverages and eats to satisfy those morning needs. I decided on a 16 oz hot skim latte to drink to enjoy there and then ordered the Egg + Cheese Scramble which has Monterey Jack and Cheddar and served with one of their biscuits. You order and pay at the register/counter then they give you a table number to take to your seat. My beverage came in well enough time to enjoy while I waited on my food order. My latte was so good that I had no need for additions such as sweetener or syrups and I like the mug with it to enjoy in house. Food came in good time as well, looking pretty tempting. The toasted biscuit was good and I liked it but a tad small bit sweet for a Southern type biscuit (the type that I'm used to/grown up with enjoying). The scramble was really great...I usually do not favor getting cheese in my scrambled eggs but everything was delicious here and perfect texture as well as portion on the eggs themselves in a small cafe setting. There's always that challenge in a new coffee shop/cafe in figuring out their used dishes protocol/station but loved that my server saw me searching and happily took my dishes at the counter for me. The coffee was actually delicious. The service not so much! To be fair I ordered my coffee with my breakfast at The Goat (the restaurant that Morning Ritual shares the building with) but the coffee is listed on The Goat's menu, so they need to get in sync. Our breakfast ended up coming out before coffee, which made no sense. I had to ask about the coffees before they were actually made. When the girl came from morning ritual She brought out my husbands, hot cappuccino but my mocha out iced and I immediately said I don't drink cold coffee and I did an order iced. Instead of being apologetic, and stating that she would change it, she just snatched the iced coffee and walked away. That was such a strange encounter. It was rude and I got no apology, nor did I get any explanation of what would happen next. I let my server know to ensure I was still going to get a coffee because I can't live without my coffee in the morning! When my Moca loved her honey, oat milk, coffee came I took a sip and was glad i didn't flip out and say "forget the coffee" (as I was already done with breakfast by the time in arrived) because the drink was delicious! If I'm ever back in the area (I was staying in Raleigh but decided to take a little detour into Durham that morning) I'll come to only Morning Ritual to see if I can change this 3 star review for service issues into a 5. For now they need to work on getting coffee service to The Goat streamlined! read more

The morning ritual is not it's own restaurant, it's essentially the breakfast and brunch menu of the restaurant "The Goat". The menu isn't broad, only a few options, which I was disappointed with. The staff was pretty decent, they forgot a few things, like a lemon for water when requested, a spoon for my yogurt. We ordered a burrito, the biscuit and eggs and the yogurt. Honestly, I was shocked at how good it was. Burrito had great flavor and was super filling. The biscuits were incredible! They were super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The jam it came with was also delicious. Overall, it was a weird restaurant set up and staff was iffy but the food was quite good! I likely won't go back because the menu is so limited but if you're in the area, it wouldn't hurt to stop by! read more

Pretty good coffee. I've been a couple of times and getting the right barista is key. They have a lot of great syrups. Menu in photos. I love a stronger espresso flavor but the flavor combinations were good. Coffee 8/10. They also have a variety of pasties. I had a bacon blueberry muffin and it was delicious. I've also tried the coffee cake and it was very sweet but pretty good. Service was great. There's limited seating in the coffee shop but it is attached to a full service restaurant The Goat which has plenty of seating. Nice atmosphere and plenty of parking. read more

What a great little find! On a freezing day outside of Raleigh, I stumbled upon this cozy little coffee shop! Trying to get a little work done, I was pleased to find a comfy couch, power and Wi-Fi- in addition to the incredible twist on a Mexican mocha and an absolutely insane bacon, egg, and cheese on there in house made biscuit! Greeted by the friendliest barista, I made myself comfy on the couch and watched her work her magic. My " not too sweet" mocha had beautiful latte art. I was actually a little sad as I reached the bottom of the mug. So I opted for a decaf refill, it was pure perfection. Do yourself a favor & pop in to make this place your morning ritual. read more

I came in here for a coffee break from work. It is such a beautiful building and was even more wow-ed! By the aesthetics in the inside of this place. They do have both coffee and food. I wasn't entirely in a coffee tasting mood but really needed a pick-me-up. They had the strawberries and cream latte as their special drink, so I went ahead and order this and the bang bang tacos. The strawberries and cream was super delicious and hit my craving just right. The bang bang shrimp tacos had a kick with the sauce, but incorporating pineapple was what gave this a 10/10 for me. It had a sweet and spicy flavor to it, which balanced these tacos to perfection with each bite. The employees behind the counter were extremely friendly. I recommend this spot for anybody who's local or traveling through. read more

In the brand-new sterile areas of Brier Creek, developers are starting to put in businesses that are quite different from the usual nail salon/coffee shop/dry cleaners. The GOAT is a case in point. It's a coffee shop/restaurant that also has an outdoor pool and volleyball court. Their breakfast menu is served in a corner called the Morning Ritual. It's a very clean, efficient space that is trying to be a little more "cozy" with paper cutout flower pots suggesting various coffee/tea drink possibilities, glass cloches covering decadent cakes and cookies, etc. I was here for serious fare, however, so I ordered the breakfast burrito and Spanish Mocha. The coffee is a largish affair, with chili powder, salt, and steamed milk. It was tasty. I like the cups. They are heavy-duty chocolate brown porcelain (?) with a rough finish. I opted to sit outside, on a tiny 20'x20' concrete apron nestled into the side of the building. There are three tables and two rocking chairs out there. Service is through a window, but between the fairly loud country music and the shy, quiet voices of the kitchen staff, it's difficult to hear when your order is ready. They gave me a table flag, but the breeze kept knocking it over. But I liked the breeze after weeks of rain and 90° mornings. 78° with a nice wind feels amazing. My burrito arrived after a while, in a white to-go bag, which was disappointing. I told them I was eating here and got the coffee in a cup for here. Oh well, it's still edible! Wrapped in foil and waxed paper, it was easy enough to eat. The stuffing included eggs, bacon, cheese, and sour cream (which I asked for on the side). It was all wrapped in a flour tortilla, very tightly rolled so that it didn't fall apart while eating. The flavors were ok, but nothing spectacular. I love a good omelette/burrito, but the flavors here were muted. I couldn't put my finger on just what I felt was missing. There were no spices (even salt and pepper seemed to have been left out!), but nothing "popped." Meanwhile, the Wifi was great, the seat was comfy, and the shaded area kept me there enjoying the cool late morning air for a good while past noon. I may be back for the coffee, but I'll try a different menu item next time. And request some hot sauce or salt & pepper. read more

15 minutes for two coffees at 10am on a Sunday when you are the only two people in line is too long. It was because the barista doubled as the greeter for the restaurant and then was taking other coffee orders as new people dribbled in instead of making our coffee. The coffee was tasty. read more

My wife and I had brunch here at around 10:30am on a Thursday. It was really slow and we had great service. I had their breakfast burrito and my wife had their huevos rancheros. Both our meals were filling and delicious and I would have them again. Carol also had their Spanish coffee which was also delicious but very sweet with Coco. I picked up my wife from the airport and this restaurant was just 10 minutes from RDU. It is a very large restaurant with a full bar and also a nice coffee shop with delicious looking pastries. I constantly get catfishes by this place. First it was by The Goat, their restaurant portion of the place, then by The Morning Ritual, their coffee cafe portion. This place is connected to an apartment complex. Beautiful interior but always smells like a wet rag. Relaxing, standard patio beside the pool, with moderately low music. Nice bar and seating, but again, stinky throughout the entire interior. The food and coffee are below average. I really enjoyed their loaded tots from The Goat yrs ago, but got a wicked tummy ache afterward. The ham and cheese croissant is an overpriced, over-buttered, oddly seasoned smashed croissant with two slices of grocery store ham and two tiny slices of an unknown cheese. Not awful, but def average at best. Caramel cold brew is $6 for what tastes like standard brew from a cheap store bottle. The foam was nice! Staff is mostly friendly and helpful, and I wish it lived up to my expectation from the online pics, but this is prob one of those cases where the apt complex holds raffles for tenants who post the best/most 5-star pics/reviews for the place to make it appear better than it is. No pic of the disappointing croissant, but the display croissant at the register is worse, so there's that at least. read more

Waffles are not homemade so the chicken and waffles meal was definitely too sweet. The frittata was delicious and the biscuit was good. The coffee was ok but for a coffee bar we had a bit higher expectations. We liked that the coffee drink had coffee brew ice cubes. It was a nice touch. The service was good and our waitress really surprised us that she got our full order with drinks and sides without writing it down. :) thanks for a nice time. The restaurant is divided into 2 sections between The Morning Ritual and The Goat, which is not clear. They sit you in The Goat section, which has a different menu. Service was mediocre, several tables that sat after us received their food before us. My husband had pancakes, they were OK, nothing extraordinary. I had the vegan sausage and egg biscuit and would not order again. OJ comes in processed bottles again, not what we were expecting, and the server never came by for coffee refills.
