Very busy hipster deli user a mixed-use condo and apartment complex where the ground floor is shops and restaurants. And there is a tiny park in the middle next to the deli. They were doing everything right, even down to the Dr Brown's, and they had ZERO flavors too. There is a meat and cheese counter,r but most of the length of the shop is pastries, cakes, pies, es and other beautiful-looking treats. We ordered our sandwiches; I had an Italian sub, and it was just ok, kind of dry and lacking in flavor; frankly, Jersey Mike's makes a better Italian. But my wife got theReubenn, and it was simply the best Reuben we've had outside of Katz in NYC. I order Rueben's all the time, and I'm consistently disappointed. Most are dried out, have too little meat, and the corned beef is often dry, but not in this case. The sandwich was truly worthy, and we are ready to go back and have it again. Moist, flavorful meat, a generous portion, and the dressing andkraut weres well balanced. The bread was grilled, not toasted, and was itself rich and flavorful. Altogether, it is a Reuben worth driving a distance to have it. We are already planning to come back and try some of the baked goods, but also get the Reuben again too. read more

First, the positives... Service and friendliness couldn't be nicer! Wonderful people who seem to care about taking care of the customer. Prices seem fair. Cleanliness is good. Nice selection of menu items, and breakfast items are available all day. Unfortunately, these are offset by impressions of the food after two visits. Just not up to snuff. On the first visit, the Chicago dog was sub-par, but that was my partner's order and I don't remember the details. I just remember she said she wouldn't order it again. On today's visit, I ordered a meatball parm sandwich. It was cloyingly sweet - both the meatballs and the tomato sauce were unappetizing, and I could only manage to stand eating a bit of it. My partner ordered a side of corned beef hash. It turned up in a little paper tray with some dry shredded corned beef sprinkled on top of some home fry potatoes - just basic cubed potatoes and some beef shreds on top. That's it. It didn't feel like any corned beef hash we had ever seen. And we paid extra for a fried egg that didn't make it onto the dish. Of course when we pointed this out, it was quickly cooked up separately and brought to the table, so no problems again with the service or resolving the issue. Also be warned that Thursday nights from 6-8pm they run a music trivia game that blasts music loudly throughout the large dining space, completely surrounded by reflective surfaces. It was so loud and obnoxious that it made conversation impossible and drove us outside. I wish I could report a better experience. We need more quality delis around here! read more

I loved the subs that I've had here, so decided to try the breakfast one morning. The coffee was good, not too strong but still flavorful. The breakfast bagel was not what I was expecting though. I ordered an everything bagel with turkey sausage, egg, and cheese. The bagel had an almost spongy bread like texture, and the sausage was not a patty but several links on the bagel. I had a doctor's appointment at Duke Health next door and decided to stop by afterward for lunch at Fratelli's Delicatessen. Safe to say this was the best part of my afternoon. We ordered the Chicago Dog, the Reuben Sandwich, and finished things off with a cannolo (yes, the singular form of cannoli). The Chicago Dog was delicious and loaded with flavor, although I have to admit the toxic-green relish initially threw me off a bit (see pic). Once I got past the visual shock, it was actually a fantastic hot dog that stayed true to its Chicago roots. The real star, though, was the Reuben Sandwich. At around $15, it was absolutely worth every penny. Generously stacked, perfectly toasted, and packed with tender meat, melty Swiss, tangy sauerkraut, and just the right amount of dressing. The cannolo was the perfect sweet ending to the meal -- crisp shell, creamy filling, and not overly sweet. What really stood out was how friendly everyone was. Two of us cam for dinner on Friday night and left full , happy and with leftovers in hand. When we arrived there was only one person in line, but a short time later the line was super long. We both tried new things...the special of the day, Philly and a grilled cheese beef. Our sides were potato salad and pasta salad. We HAD to get the cannoli cake to share and believe me, it was plenty for both of us. The young lady at the register was so kind and friendly. A surprise for us was there was a man playing a guitar and singing! He added a lot to our dinner. Both of our sandwiches were great but we both thought the grilled one was best. It came with some great au jus that we both enjoyed. The potato salad is different here than in most places....and it was great. The pasta salad was just ok, we would not get it again with so many other great options. For those who are gluten free, they have gluten free bread and muffins! My friend and I wanted to try breakfast since we enjoyed lunch so much. Fratelli's is super accommodating if you want to order specifically for your needs. I just wanted eggs and bacon. The eggs would have been tastier with cheese and hash browns but I'm not eating that right now. This was satisfactory. The breakfast specials all looked good. There is always a line so I like to order ahead from an app. They had a special that was a chopped burger with cheese as a sub, and holy smokes it was incredible-- tasted like an In N Out burger from LA. Their egg and cheese sub sourdough and cheddar--tastes like a NYC diner, they either butter or mayo the bread and it is so good your body curls/melts into each bite and releases dopamine. The space is bright, spacious, and welcoming--a relatively new spot that has quickly become a local favorite. The place is clearly popular. My first visit was during a bustling Friday lunchtime crowd, and my second, a busy Monday lunch, was equally full. The ordering system is efficient: browse the menu while you get in line, place your order at the cashier, get a number, and choose your table. Your food is brought right out to you. A standout feature was the staff; everyone was genuinely smiling. I looks for this as a great indicator of a positive dining experience, and it usually works out - both of my visits confirmed this hunch. The service is friendly, quick, and makes you feel right at home. As a massive "Chicken Parm" enthusiast, I can attest that their large sub sandwich was excellent. The chicken, sauce and cheese were cooked perfectly, and the flavors were spot-on. The bread seemed lightly toasted, as it should be. On my next visit, I branched out and tried the Philly Cheesesteak, which was also very good. (The photos, I promise, look mouth-watering!) I would definitely recommend Fratelli's Delicatessen to anyone who hasn't yet visited. I made the approximately 10-mile drive from east Cary, and I will certainly be coming back for more. My daughter is a meatball freak, so she had the Meatball Parm House-made meatballs. topped with melted provolone, and our signature marinara, and really enjoyed it. She eats like a bird, so was able to have half for dinner and half for lunch the next day. My boy had the Chicken Parm which is similar to the meatball but with a chicken cutlet. I think that he enjoyed it, but it disappeared to fast to find out They do their breakfast all day, so my eldest got the Wake up Cali with Egg whites, spinach, sauteed onions and mushrooms, avocado, roasted tomato, feta cheese, and quinoa, which he really enjoyed. My wife had the Da' Beef with house made Italian beef with a side of au jus. She got hers with the hot giardiniera on an Italian hero, and fresh mozzarella, and said that it was very good. I had the the Steak Philly WIT, also with the hot giardiniera. It too was very good, with an unexpected kick to the heat on the mixins. The people were all very nice, and I ordered from them at the counter and just waited. The only drawback is that most of the restaurants these days use an online or delivery service that generally screw something up or forget something, and generally add a few bucks to each of the items on the menu... no offense, but I will never use any of their services. Went in to get us all dinner and for my husband to try the pastrami on rye.I have had the cold chicken cutlet (that one is great) I got the chicken parmigiana and a Gluten Free meatball sub for our daughter in law. My husband said the pastrami was fatty. I got to visit here for a Yelp event full of delicious sandwich samples that I won't review here to follow Yelp rules. But! I can review their cannoli, because the mini cannoli sample they gave us was SO GOOD that I had to buy a couple to take home. I usually don't even like cannoli - I usually find the filling too cloyingly sweet - but Fratelli's filling maintains enough tang that I just couldn't get enough. It balances so well against the crispy fried-but-not-greasy shell. Chef's kiss perfection. I also want to note that they have an absolutely massive dessert case stocked full of all kinds of treats, including lots of gluten free options (and they can make basically their entire sandwich menu gluten-free as well; one of the owners is gluten-free, so I extra trust them to be vigilant about cross-contamination). I was tempted by the multiple styles of cheesecake, bread pudding, pie, etc, but opted for more cannoli because they were just that good. read more

I visited Fratelli's for the first time on Monday for a Yelp Elite Event. Loved the place so much that I came back on Friday. Don't judge-just go try it out. For my second visit, I ordered the Reuben sandwich. Hands down-this is one of the best Reuben sandwiches that I have ever had. The corned beef has shredded texture, the mixture of the sauerkraut and thousand island dressing adds a great tanginess, and lastly, the Swiss cheese covered the entire sandwich. The rye bread was soft and is sliced for a large portion. Honestly, I ate this sandwich over two meals. The cashier was very attentive and helpful when asked questions. It was nice to receive this level of customer service when the deli was packed on a Friday night. I plan to visit Fratelli's again to experience their breakfast menu within the next couple of months. read more

This was an amazing event! I had never eaten in this area or been to this place and it did not disappoint. The event offered an abundance of food to try which I appreciate because now I know what to order when I come back. We had 3 cold sandwich samplers and 3 hot sandwich samplers with a pasta salad and cucumber salad as well as a non alcoholic drink. We also got to try their cannoli which was tasty and fresh. It was extremely busy on a nice day on Sunday. We didn't start and decided to go back during the week for lunch. It was cold and rainy. It was difficult getting a seat inside. There aren't many. The food was ok although I do not like eating salad out of a container with plastic silverware. It's an order at the counter, they deliver the food to the table place. 10 minutes from order to service. Food is delicious. A heaping serving of freshly thick-sliced pastrami is served on toasted marble rye, slathered in spicy deli mustard. Meat is a little less lean than I'd prefer, but it's prepared perfectly - moist & tender. Corned beef reuben was equally good. Meat very lean, moist & tender. Same marble rye. After hearing months of hype, I made the 23 minute drive and the wait was worth it (despite 25 people being on line in front of me). I had a plan on what I would order, but when I saw the vodka parm special, my mind raced on what I would do. The vodka parm tasted marvelous, it's basically a chicken parm sandwich on a lightly toasted sub roll with mozz, provolone, and a little bit of pesto, always a great addition to these kinds of sandwiches. I had to tell the runner that I was having both sandwiches and she immediately declared me her new favorite customer. But I did not stop at just one sandwich, oh no. I lived in Chicago for 20 years and have taken down more than my share of Italian beef sandwiches. This wasn't the biggest I've ever had, but I can say the beef was incredibly flavorful and would be worth eating again. Except I'd do the combo with the Italian sausage included. It also came with a side of the beef gravy, plenty more than I needed! Also the giardinera added plenty of heat. The fire did fade after a couple of minutes, but in the moment, that heat was pretty powerful. And each sandwich comes with a pickle spear, major props for that! I also like they have fountain drinks as well as Dr. Browns cans and bottled Cokes (with cane sugar, as it should be!). Plenty of grab and go options from their fridge and they also serve beer and wine. For suggestions, I would add shredded cheddar to the menu, I just prefer cheddar over mozz on my Italian beef. And if I could add one sandwich, it would be a Philly roast pork... I will definitely find time to come back and keep eating my way through the menu. Maybe next time, I'll go for the pastrami and meatball sandwiches...with a Chicago hot dog for dessert! read more

I finally checked out Fratelli's after hearing so much hype and let me just say.. it absolutely lived up to it! The food was incredible. On my first visit, I tried the Triple-Decker Club and the Steak Philly Wit, and both were outstanding. I usually lean toward hot sandwiches but the Triple-Decker Club was phenomenal. Fratelli's was so good that I went back the very next day to try the New Yorker, and wow... that might be my favorite sandwich yet. The food came out fast. By the time I ordered and washed my hands, it was already ready. I sat outside since the weather was nice, and it made the whole experience even better. I can't recommend this place enough. We recently stopped by Fratelli's on our way back in to Raleigh. The ambience is bustling and crowded with tables running over and not cleaned. The line forms awkwardly but in the end, it's all worth it. I had the chicken cordon bleu panini and the cutlet was perfection. My husband had the BLT on multigrain and it was very hearty as well. We upgraded to a Combo with chips and a drink for $4 and ended up bringing the chips home! We did not try any of the glorious looking desserts in the glass case but will be back! PRO TIP: for lunch get a HALF sandwich. The portions are huge! read more

The Reuben sandwich at Fratellis is' hands down the best 'says my husband, but I on the other hand had the Rachel which was delicious.stuffed with excellent turkey and it was 'just right ' .So either way we both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. First time trying Fratelli's but had heard good things about it. Went in dinner and was surprised to see how crowded they were with more and more people coming in and lining up. The dining room on the inside was completely full and they had live music going on. I had a half Fratellis Press and then my son had the full BLT. I really enjoyed the press- the Granny Smith Apple on it was a great touch. I would definitely have it again and would also like to go back for breakfast. Lowering to a one star because this owner has been combative in several other platforms vs taking constructive criticism and doubles down on every single thing I've mentioned. Apparently they use all high quality ingredients. But I'm calling BS on that as their food sucks. Just make better sandwiches and use better products and teach your staff how to be a real deli and then maybe you'll survive this economy. Rolling out mediocre products won't help you. And doubling down instead of using the initial comments as a chance for growth shows me you won't do better next time So sad too bad. read more

Visiting fratelli's is kind of like going to Philadelphia, Chicago and New York all at once. You can get a dipped Italian beef with real giardinera, or Chicago dog. They have Philly cheese steak, and they have pastrami on rye. Service is fast, and there's plenty of seating. It has a nice New York deli feel to it. I stopped over for lunch to meet up with a friend, and I found the food to be hearty and filling. It's quite popular with the locals, and I hear the brunch is really good, too. read more

Also a beer /bar counter. The dessert section looked incredible. We tried the cannoli. It was delicious. I wanna try the Italian cookies next time. ( sold by the pound) We ordered the New Yorker, the triple decker club, Chicago dog, macaroni salad, and a cannoli and sticky bun. It was all really good. The new Yorker was tasty. The little italy sandwich was so good, as well as the potato salad, the sandwich was just a bit smaller than expected. It was almost $23 for a full sandwich, side and drink. Not horrible though, and I would probably go back again because it tasted really good and freshly made. quality food, so i understand.
