Was looking for a spot in the middle of Raleigh and North Durham to meet a business colleague and stumbled upon Chelsea's. When I suggested it, I didn't realize it was in an office building. But don't let that stop you! This place is set up with lots of windows filled with plants, as well as lots of space for people. You place your order at a kiosk - they appear to have an extensive menu - and then pick up at a window. Very simple process and quick. I ordered a southern breakfast burrito - eggs, bacon, and a hashbrown wrapped in a tortilla. Twas delicious! Not too extensive a coffee menu - your simple drip coffee, latte, Americano, etc but good all the same. Well-priced too! For two lattes and two breakfast burritos we paid $22. Talk about a hidden gem! I'm always scouting for new breakfast spots, and this one caught my eye during an airport run. It's tucked away at the far end of an office building, so keep your eyes peeled or you'll miss it. I started with a lox sandwich and struck up a conversation with the owner. When I asked about the corned beef, I fully expected the standard "Boar's Head" answer you get everywhere else in the state. Instead, he told me they make it themselves. Sold. I paired the corned beef sandwich with a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda--a total nostalgia trip that brought me right back to my youth. Food was delicious. But I got three breakfast sandwiches. One of them was correct. The other two were wrong - I even paid extra for an extra meat (I wanted bacon and sausages) and they not only did not add bacon they were very limited with the sausage. The food was good but the side of potato salad was small. I'll have to stop in to try a few of the other sandwiches again soon. This was off the charts amazing. I had a turkey sandwich on focaccia with chipotle mayo and it rocked my world. I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo, but everything was perfect. Great lighting, plants, and amazing service. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming back. read more

No personality you order remote they call your name and you pick up food but they ask for tip on payment. No one greets or thanks you. Food was below average - saugage so salty I could not eat it. They were all busy preping for something. I will never return! read more

We came for the food but left with plants! I cannot say enough great things about The Chelsea Cafe. The food was delicious and the service was perfect! We talked with owners who were great and they gave our daughter some of the plants to take home to plant ourselves! They also did a great job making the place feel homey within an office park! Hidden Gem! We are staying at Sheraton imperial across the street, and I googled a place for breakfast! Would have never just rode by it, as it is in the Imperial Office Park! Stopped here after a nearby doctor's appointment for the first time. I enjoy supporting small business owners any where I can. It is hard to find the first time, as it is in the back of a office building, which I had learned from Yelp, but still had a hard time finding it. Look for the door with the black "awning" over it that says Cafe. I was fortunate to see a Chelsea van parked in front too, so that helped. Plenty of parking, some is marked for the Cafe. Hours are from 7am until 2pm. You walk up to the counter and order and they bring it out to you. I went between breakfast and lunch, so the nice man there said I could get either one. There were MANY options for both, so it was hard to decide. I opted for the breakfast burrito and was not disappointed. This packed burrito has lots of meat, both bacon and sausage, egg, cheese and a little kick from some sauce they put in there. I was shocked at how much meat was in this burrito. It was hot, good and very filling. I had sweet tea that was just sweet enough, and not "icky sweet" like some other places. The drinks are self serve. I noticed they had 4 desserts listed and asked about them. He said they were all in house made from scratch. I could not resist, I got a piece of banana bread to go. Just too full to eat it there. Several hours later, I heated the banana bread and put some butter that was also in the box, and enjoyed a super good treat. I would get that again any day. Nice place, not cafeteria like at all as some have said, very clean, nice people there with plenty of options for both lunch and dinner. I will return. read more

It's in the back of the building away from Slater Road so the entrance is not visible from the street. I've eaten breakfast and lunch here, and overall its decent food at a good price. It's the prototypical mom and pop diner that doesn't get too adventurous but doesn't have to. On my last visit I had a soup and sandwich combo, with a BLT. I thought I was just getting chicken soup but it ended up being a nice greek avgolemono soup with chicken and lemon. Very nice. A great option for a quick bite in the Imperial Park area. read more

Clean and nice cafe that serves breakfast and lunch all day is located in the parking area of a business complex. The egg breakfast sandwich was nicely prepared while the lemon chicken soup was hearty and satisfying. Chelsea Cafe is very convenient to my office (it's in the building next to ours). The food is a little pricey for the items that I like to order ($8-10) and I don't feel like it's the most filling. Particularly, some of the side items (such as potato salad) are served in very small "sauce" cups. Some larger side items would be nice. The owners are very friendly and polite. Love this place - it's really hidden on the bottom floor of an office building (luckily, I work in the building next door!). The owners are lovely people and are there every day. The food is fresh, homemade and there is a fairly diverse set of choices on their large menu. The salads are huge, and the sandwiches are great. Yes, it has a bit of a cafeteria atmosphere, however, I would rather have great food in a plain place than bland food in a swanky restaurant. My friend works walking distance from this little gem and wouldn't stop raving about it. She is a vegetarian and is happy to be presented with countless options of fresh made sandwiches, wraps and soups. so between three of us we had a garden salad (super fresh veggies), Tomato Soup (with tomato chunks my favorite kind), pimento cheese sandwich and Falafel sandwich. I've spent many-o-lunches at Chelsea when my old company occupied the building next door. As most people have mentioned, the owners are wonderfully sweet and it's hard to say a negative thing about the place because of that. I usually stuck with the fajita pita to-go which comes with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa and white shredded cheese. When it's made right, it's REALLY good but on more than one occasion spread out over a year, I've noticed the cheese was sour in the way milk gets sour and I had to throw it out. I mentioned it to them the second time it happened because it made more than just a fluke. They were extremely apologetic and offered to give my next meal for free. The other thing I've found a bit off-putting is the amount of mayo they put on sandwiches. Doesn't matter which sandwich - they slather that mayo on unless you tell them otherwise. My co-worker learned early on she had to order the egg-salad sandwich "without mayo" so that they wouldn't add mayo to the bread before they slapped the egg-salad onto it. Very odd. On the positive, they make great traditional breakfast sandwiches to order (and no mayo!). There are very few places in RTP where I can find a good breakfast sandwich. read more

This is a solid lunch spot. I really appreciate that it's a mom and pop restaurant. My favorite meal is the Black Bean Burger and the broccoli salad. This combination goes well together.
