What a cute little brunch spot in the heart of Durham! The concept is one where you order at the counter and then the servers bring out your items. This worked well until we were asked to wait several minutes for drinks because they were busy with food orders. The food itself was very good. We were all pleased with our meals and especially with the smoked wings. They have a house made ranch that is also top notch. I tried the cinnamon roll and wasn't impressed. The flavor was almost like it had a citrus hint to it. It says there are nuts in it on the menu but when I asked the server she shared there are in fact no nuts in the roll. Parking here can be a challenge due to the tiny lot but there is street parking available as well. I will definitely be returning here when in the area. read more

Stopped by this place on a Sunday morning for brunch around 11 AM. There were about five people ahead of us, but the line moved quickly. You place your order at the front counter and can choose to sit either inside or outside while waiting for your food. We started with a coffee and a smoothie--both were absolutely delicious! For breakfast, we had the breakfast platter, which came with perfectly cooked over-medium eggs, sweet maple bacon, and flavorful breakfast potatoes. The only downside was the bagel, which was a bit too hard--likely over-toasted. We also tried the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, and it was amazing! Very generous in size and packed with flavor. We went here on a sunny Sunday morning and WHAT A TREAT! We waited in line for 10-15 minutes to order before we self-sat upstairs on the half covered/half open patio. It took a long while (20-30 minutes) to get our food out but the aesthetic and nice weather made it easy to kill time. It is covered with rich, creamy, buttery, savory gravy. This is heaven on a plate! I am watching my carbs, but have no regrets for this deluctable off-diet brunch. Very unique restaurant in the heart of Durham! Restaurant is order at the counter and an employee will bring you your food. I ordered the I've Been Chopped salad with honey balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The croutons were the best part because they're made from GRUB biscuits. Prices were very affordable too. The food was great, and I truly felt welcomed by the team. However, everything changed the moment CAROL walked in. Her behavior was shocking and completely unprofessional. She was openly rude to her staff and repeatedly yelled in the main dining area for someone to be up front. Rather than handling the situation privately, she chose to humiliate her team in front of all the customers, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. The staff deserves so much better, and customers shouldn't have to witness that kind of behavior. It definitely impacted the overall experience. With better management conduct, this would've easily been a 5-star visit. read more

I just moved here and have trying burger places around the area. I've been here a couple times, the first time the food was great and my boyfriend and I gave the place a 10/10. We went today around 45 minutes before they closed for the night and we ordered two treymendous burgers med rare. The manager was so sweet! It's has been about three months since I had a chance to come back the grub. My burger took way longer to prepare today. That was usual because the place was not packed. But, I think what susurprised me the most was the poor service, after my food taking a long time, I asked one of the staff if they could check on my food. I guessed she did, however I would not know because she never returned to fill me in. So I had to get up and asked about my order. Just a disappointment for this lunch hour. What a fun place! Huge, rooftop deck and fun ambiance. An obvious favorite spot for Duke folks, this place is a must visit. First, you stand in line and yes, there will be a line to order your food! Once you get your chance, you are greeted with that Durham charm sprinkled with a bit of sarcasm and wit... Love it! We sat and the food was brought to us quickly. I had the Mama's Big Bird with Greek Couscous. Two pounded out chicken filets, breaded and fried. House made pickles and bacon. Just lovely. Couscous was good as well, next time will opt for the slaw. My wife had the Gobble Down with potatoes. Exactly what she was looking for, delicious!
