Enjoyed an early Birthday breakfast here. I was pleased to know they offered gluten free bread with the eggs Benedict. I really enjoyed this dish. The eggs were poached medium and the sauce was creamy and delish. The Canadian bacon was good and the bread was toasted nicely. I also chose a side salad of greens vs potatoes. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and there's shade so it's a relaxing. The staff were nice and friendly.

Wow! I ate breakfast here with my mom while visiting my parents (they live in chapel hill). She said "that was the best breakfast of my life." I'm turning 50 this year so you can imagine my mom has had a number of breakfast experiences before this. I agree that the food and coffee were amazing! Mom enjoyed a vanilla buttermilk pancake, over easy eggs (I'd call them over medium since they had runny yolks and set whites) and a rasher of bacon. I got a cheddar scramble with salad greens on the side. Mom enjoyed a chocolate hazelnut latte and I got the maple with oat milk. I like my lattes less sweet and "half sweet" was perfect for me. The space is airy but cozy, the chairs were super comfy and the vibe is really pleasant. The staff were all very friendly and patient. Our service was prompt and attentive. I wish I was local! I'll be back!

Breakaway was a last minute brunch stop for us! The cappuccinos were creamy and not too sweet! Amy's breakfast scramble was a great blend of savory and salty with the olives. The tossed greens were a perfect side giving the dish some light and citrusy notes. Service was great and food came out quickly. Such a cute spot!

Delicious food and perfect brunch atmosphere. The smoked salmon benedict and huevos rancheros were both really good. It can get busy on the weekends so go early!! Or, takeout is great too, honestly.

Had Saturday breakfast at Breakaway and thoroughly enjoyed it! The Benedict had perfectly poached eggs, a smooth hollandaise, and incredibly crispy potatoes. Cappuccino was well-made as well, and both came out very quickly. My only gripe is this being a counter-order place!

We had an offer from a local discount dining club and came on a Wednesday evening since we were told weekend brunch is pretty busy. Parking was a little tight but we found a space. The decor is simple and clean, with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were friendly. We enjoyed the tofu banh mi sandwiches and french fries. It seems their dinner menu is limited to a few choices. The only minor thing was that the restaurant was not crowded and it seemed to take a long time to get our sandwiches. We understand they have another location in Chapel Hill as well.

Loved everything about the Carolina Inn and their restaurant, Crossroads, was no exception. We ate…read morehere Sunday morning before checking out when they only offer Sunday buffet. The buffet was one of the best I've seen from an omelette station, lots of delicious food stations (my daughter said the shrimp was so good that she went up for seconds) and so many yummy tasting desserts. We were in and out within 45 minutes since the buffet was self serve. We did have to track down a waitress in order to pay, but no biggie since it was a lovely atmosphere to enjoy while waiting. I can't speak to their normal meals, but if it was as good as the Sunday buffet I"m sure it's great!

Just like others have said before the staff were amazing. I do wish they would've had name tags…read morebecause I like to know the names of the servers to give them credit. One of the girls recently turned 21 she said and she was very friendly and approachable. We sat at the bar to eat and have a few drinks for a girls night. It definitely is a special occasion type of place because it is so extremely expensive. I literally cringed when I paid almost $50 for two drinks for the night. I got a single glass of wine as well as an espresso martini. Not really anything special. It almost seems like a lot of the hype around it is because it's so expensive it's considered "classy". It's just silly It was cool to check out some of the downstairs area of the hotel but I wouldn't be back anytime soon unless for an event or another gathering. I will say everything that I got from the drinks to the shared appetizer of pistachio feta(?) and pita was good. It was a lot better experience with the food than my first experience during a lunch time I came with my nana years before. Overall, it's an interesting place, but not a common hang out spot unless I was on a surgeons salary.

I got the two empanadas with aside and was able to try both the chicken and the pork. I think I liked the chicken a little bit more, but both of them were very good and the plantains were also very good. Not overly sweet, but also not super dry. I will say the parking is kind of annoying without parking space directly nearby. Had to park in the parking garage across the street. The server was very nice and mindful of waters and when we needed things. I will say almost $20 for a regular dish seemed very expensive but the food was pretty good so I would probably come back - just for the cheaper empanadas as they were pretty filling as it was. The one thing that kind of threw me off was how they set the table with their water cups upside down, touching the table. I wouldn't say that I'm a clean freak, but also that seems kind of gross to me because that's where my mouth is going to be... I'd probably do something different there myself. This definitely is more of a Chapel Hill / Carrboro money type of dining experience $$ but I'd be back on nicer occasions. The pastry on the empanadas were very good. Really liked the yuca Frits as well
