Love the retro decor! This place is in Eastgate so there is plenty of parking. I was there early so I had quick efficient service and an absolutely delicious strawberry shortcake stack of pancakes. The strawberries & cream were fresh and a huge portion (1 pancake is an option); so I had leftovers for breakfast the next day that heated nicely. Coffee & bacon were perfect. Ok it may have been relatively busy but we got out on a waitlist and proceeded to see multiple parties get seated before us - I went up after waiting the allotted time and based on the girls reaction we should have been seated faster. So she walked us to a table... the waitress got our drinks pretty quickly but on the other hand the food we were waiting for a while to get. Again the people who sat AFTER us received their food before ours. Just was annoying honestly. As for ambience after looking around you can tell it's like a chain considered every foot of space has the logo all over it. Overall the food was good but it was really expensive for the quantity and what we got. Two pancakes (no sides) at $14 is nuts and I'm not talking about the pecans sprinkled on top. My girl & I had been looking for a good breakfast spot in Chapel Hill where we could get quality Benedicts, and we finally found 1: Snooze, one of the newer locations at Eastgate, a shopping area that gets a lot of foot traffic even on weekday brunch times. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait to be seated at Snooze on a busy Wednesday brunch time. We were taken to a small table that's pretty close to an occupied table with 2 people in a cramped area; Despite Snooze's large and open space with a nice outdoor seating and a bar (probably the largest restaurant in Eastgate), it seems that there is a spacing issue, and it looks like there was only 1 waitress assigned to our section. She said her name is Baj, and I'll talk about her customer service later, but first: the food! I ordered the Barbacoa Chile Verde Benny & my girl ordered the Smashed Avocado Benny & we got a blueberry pancake for us to share. Orders arrived in about 12 min., which is relatively fast considering Snooze's busy brunch time. It was my first time trying a Benny with Barbacoa (shredded beef - Mexican barbecue style), and the meat tasted as what I expected from a Barbacoa dish, and there was a fine amount in my Benny. Instead of English muffin, this one has a layer of tortilla in the bottom. The green chile sauce, melted cheese. green chile hollandaise, pico de gallo & cotija cheese all create a Mexican twist to a typical Benedict, but after trying this, I think I still prefer a typical Benny with ham, English muffin, etc,. There was issue in my order: 1 of the 2 eggs it came with was cooked too long, so it's more like a hard-boiled egg than a poached one, so I told Baj about it, and a manager came to check what the problem was. She asked what wanted, replacing the one wrongly-cooked egg is just fine, and she said they could do that, so I received the 1 replacement egg. I ended up eating that 1 egg by itself because I already devoured the rest of the Benny while waiting. Other than that mistake, the Bennys were generally satisfying with a healthy amount of well-baked hashbrowns on the side. My girl enjoyed her Smashed Avocado Benny, which looked quite healthy, with large slices of tomatoes, just the right amount of avocado & everything else. The $6+ blueberry pancake we shared was fine but they did not serve enough syrup, and the server did not even bother to ask if we need anything else, so we weren't able to ask for more. Snooze's customer service clearly needs improvement. While server Baj seemed friendly at first, she didn't accommodate our needs well - we had to call her to get water refills and ketchup for our hashbrowns, and not even once did she ask if we needed anything else like that pancake syrup! As for our bill, she just silently placed it on our table, making us wonder what she just put, while she took orders from the customers beside us. When we were ready to pay, she just put the payment device in front of us, and she seemed to be more cheerful doing that than actually serving us well. I was thankful that she called the manager about the egg issue, and that the manager was able to resolve it well, but overall, the customer service is just disappointing. It's not easy to find a good Benny in Chapel Hill, so I still think it's a blessing to have Snooze, a nice brunch spot with quality breakfast and a vibrant ambiance. If you prefer alcohol with your brunch, Snooze's bartender can serve that to your table. The outdoor seating is also nice but there were no customers there despite the short line of waiting ones while we were seated there. I wouldn't say that we will never return here, but probably not anytime soon. We are willing to go farther to get a better breakfast/brunch experience with professional customer service. They have a wide variety of foods, mostly centered on breakfasty things. I saw the Benedict menu and didn't look further. I chose the Avocado Benedict, which is and English muffin covered by a slice of tomato (slightly grilled), avocado, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Notice anything missing? Yeah, shoulda added bacon, but it was zero-yawn thirty to me (11am on a Tuesday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) and I didn't notice. I did notice that there was very little salt used in the food. I'm happy that this will help some folks who have to limit their intake of sodium. I'm also happy there was a salt and pepper grinder on the bar. The good thing is that there are lots of businesses in the area you can venture in to. The food was amazing. My friend is vegan and felt like she had lots of great options but they do have some dishes marked as vegan that include eggs which aren't vegan but she was able to ask for it to be made without eggs. The variety and brunch drinks was exciting. We couldn't resist the pancakes so shared the pineapple upside down pancake which was delicious and sweet but not too overwhelming with sweetness. I'm going to start this review by saying that Emma, our waitress, was the biggest highlight of this place. It was our first time here and she is a gem. She took her time to explain the menu, talked briefly about the restaurant and just overall made our experience that much better. I would definitely come back and ask to seat in her section. The restaurant is super cute, it's bright with booths and table seating. They also have an outside patio that's covered. We were seated right away. The menu has some amazing options and the price is great. They have a weekday $10 menu. I took a picture and will post to this review. Emma explained that you can go in for breakfast all day anytime. They also have a bar! We ordered the half bravocado toast and opted for scrambled eggs with it. It comes with a side salad, which was delish. We also ordered the Denver omelette and a side of grits. Friendly service from everyone! Just a pleasure to interact with such nice people on a Wednesday morning. The ambiance is very cool- retro and 1960s. Most importantly- the menu! We accidentally found the Chapel Hill location a month or two ago, and we have been about three times since because we love it. We go during what are probably off hours, so there is never a wait. I imagine it is pretty busy on weekends. But service has always been friendly and fast. My boyfriend and I try something different every time, and we haven't been disappointed yet. We ordered the ham benedict III, bravocado toast, three egg omelette (with mushroom, asparagus, and avocado) with wheat toast, and the smashed avocado benny. The hashbrowns were uniquely created on many of our plates in a circular, short cylinder shape. I was very happy with how my bravocado toast turned out, however at first glance, my mom's omelette included very measly slices of avocado which was disappointing. This is the second Snooze location that I've been to. I have to say that my second visit did not disappoint. The Chapel Hill location is full of character. The decor is warm and inviting. The seating options here include a bar, tables and booths. I was especially excited to see that the bar area included a tv, which just happened to be showing Wrestlemania highlights (see pics). Seeing Dwayne Johnson before breakfast is a good way to start the day. Our waitress was busy, but was attentive to our table. I ordered the Ham Benedict III. My mom and I went for a late lunch on a Sunday. Not busy at all, so we were able to be seated fairly quickly. I ordered the Snooze Breakfast burrito add Plant-Based Chorizo with the strawberry shortcake pancake on the side. My mom decided on the French toast flight, which included the French toast neat, pineapple upside pancake, and the vegan banana bliss pancake. Oddly enough the food was good. The burrito was ginormous but very flavorful. Kudos to our waiter James for recommending that I use the smoked cheddar cheese sauce. All of the pancakes were light and fluff. Even with all of the toppings, surprisingly enough the pancakes were not overly sweet. The vegan pancakes were our favorite. My only complaint is that our food did not come out hot. I'm a big fan of snooze I don't think I'll ever get over how they were supposed to open in Raleigh right before the pandemic hit, but then decided not to. We had a little extra time for breakfast so my husband and I decided to head on over to Snooze and it did not disappoint. Be sure to check out the Yelp waitlist while you're heading over because there was definitely a super long wait if you didn't get your name on the list. I like how they have such interesting drinks and it's not just plain coffee. I think their chai here is really good. I couldn't not get the pancake sampler just because they have such interesting pancake flavors. It was admittedly way too much food to get that and a main dish, even though my husband and I shared. My favorite pancake was probably their seasonal cranberry orange. It was awesome! For the main dish I went with their eggs and corn beef hash. I try to always get corn beef hash if it's on the menu and their's is homemade and super delicious. Highly recommend you give it a go here. I was so excited when this opened up somewhat near the triad because this was a breakfast staple for me when I lived in Arizona. This place is always crowded so save yourself some time and join the waitlist through Yelp. The time was accurate for us, so we only waited less than 15 min from when we checked in (they give a range). The place is very modern and colorful. Even though there were a ton of people in the restaurant, you could still have a conversation and not be bothered with overhearing anything. I ordered the pancake flight and picked 1 chocolate chip, 1 strawberry shortcake, and 1 cinnamon roll pancake for my flavors. The plating wasn't as pretty as the menu showcases, but this was absolutely delicious. If you like pancakes, this is the dish to order so you can try a little bit of everything. They do a pancake of the week as one of their flavors, but I wasn't interested in this week's. My husband ordered the Habanero Pork Belly Benny. if the food wasn't so delicious i would have left a one star rating. everything we ordered was so so good and the restaurant was such a cute retro vibe. i was very much looking forward to coming to snooze for its reputation of delicious food and decor. however, i was still disappointed by my experience. as a server myself, i can say with honesty that i have an extra level of understanding when service is subpar; i understand that servers can get overwhelmed when a restaurant is busy. however, with an empty restaurant and no attempt at customer service i have no reason to give the benefit of the doubt. our server would sigh at any requests and gave the indication that he just didn't want to be there. given that this was my first time at snooze i was excited to be there, but jeffrey's service honestly made me want to never return. i felt like he would ignore attempts to flag him down, and even when he was at the table his lack of positivity came off as rude. whatever caused him to be so curt is no reason for such service. i hope that he has a better day. read more

Snooze is one of our go to spots. The ambiance is great, we sit outside in the patio area most of the time. But, we have sat on the inside a couple times. Indiana is our favorite waitress here. This is great place for couples or small groups. If you are dining alone they have an amazing bar with tv's. The food... the food is delicious! Snooze has been at the top of my brunch list for a while now. I found out a new location was in Chapel Hill and came to check this new location out. Immediately as my feet crossed the threshold of the entryway I received a warm welcome and hello from the host (with smiles). This made my day! We were escorted to our table and even in passing the staff assisting other tables gave welcome and smiles. Dee (our server) was so patient and receptive to our indecisive appetites. I ordered the habanero pork belly breakfast bowl. It had Jasmine fried rice with seared cider-braised habanero pork belly, sautéed red bell peppers, onions, poblanos, carrots, and pineapple. Drizzled with their house-made Sriracha maple aioli, and an egg that I modified to fried over well, there was also scallions and kimchi spice in this dish. So delicious. I enjoyed this. Be prepared for the kick of spice that's oh-so-good! For dessert - yes dessert lol I ordered 1 pineapple upside-down pancake. I enjoyed this pancake. I expected more pineapple taste in the pancake. I have been a fan of Snooze since visiting their location on Pearl Street in Boulder, CO. I'm thrilled that they opened a location in Chapel Hill. I came in for the first time this morning and felt instant nostalgia. I came in at 08:50 and Snooze was mostly empty. I grabbed a seat at their bar. The place began filling up shortly after. By 09:30 the indoor dining area was close to full. By comparison, I normally visit the Boulder location at 08:30. The earlier, the better. Snooze's benedicts are my favorite. Today I changed things up. I got their pancake flight which featured their seasonal sweet potato pancake. It is a mix of sweet and salty, something that I find represents autumn well. My favorite is the blueberry danish pancake. The pineapple pancake was sweet and creamy. Kia and Cheyenne are great baristas. Stop by and say hello. They'll treat you well. read more

Their specialty pancakes are excellent - well balanced fruity and sweet. They are also extremely fluffy. My favorite thing to do is split a savory item (like their breakfast burrito with Barbacoa) and a speciality pancake with someone! The breakfast burrito with Barbacoa is very good. Place is clean and the color scheme and set up is warm and inviting. Staff were all friendly and clearly happy which is nice. We have been to Snooze in another state and were impressed.
