Atlas is a neat cocktail bar in downtown Carrboro. They really push the limit in interesting drinks. The last time we visited, there was a fall/spooky theme. I tried the bright and colorful Persimmon Punch and my husband had the Mountain Dew with a white bourbon. The bartender is very helpful and quick to make drinks even when it's crowded. The space is lovely! TIP: You can order snacks like deviled eggs & dips from ACME next door!

My partner and I were in town for a basketball game and decided to grab a cocktail afterwards and check out what Carrboro had to offer. The area was quite crowded as I'm sure is normal for a Saturday evening, especially after a game. Not knowing the area, I was thinking it would be a struggle to find parking. Luckily we were able to snag a parking space right across the street from Atlas, in a lot with free parking. Winning! We scoped out the place as soon as we walked in and noticed one empty seat at the bar (just enough room to hopefully catch the bartender's attention to place an order). We were greeted quickly which was surprising considering how busy the place was. We placed our drink order and shortly after, two seats became available at the corner of the bar (perfect location to tuck away and people watch). Another win! We each ordered a cocktail off of their current menu. I ordered the Improved Whiskey Cocktail which was very bold, boozy, and whiskey forward. My partner had the Carondelet-refreshing and tasty. Both drinks were spectacular and we could tell that our bartender Joe was an excellent mixologist! Surrounded by laughter, chatter, and good vibes, we got lost in conversation and weren't ready to call it a night once our glasses were empty. We asked our bartender Joe if he could make us our favorite classic cocktails (two drinks not on their menu), and he was more than pleased to whip them up. We ordered a Negroni and a Boulevardier and both cocktails warmed our hearts. Yet another win! Each drink was perfectly crafted and balanced. The bartender's passion for mixology really shined through and we enjoyed every single sip! After a Tarheel Bball win, the wins just kept on coming at Atlas Bar. We look forward to visiting again the next time we are in the area.

Finding a good cocktail in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area is a little bit of a search but Atlas Bar is a location that meets my expectations. I liked the vibe & atmosphere of this bar. We went on a chilly weekend night & it was crowded but not overly so. Our drink took a little bit to order just because there was a larger group gathered but not a big deal. We went with classic cocktails - Manhattan & Sazerac. Nicely made & reasonable prices. I will be back & bringing out of towners here for sure.

My favorite bar in Chapel Hill downtown. Friendly service, delicious drinks, and amazing atmosphere. Go there for the nice and chill vibe.

What a gem in the middle of downtown Carrboro! It's right next door to Armadillo Grill and the doors are open to welcome you inside. It's long and narrow but with plenty of comfortable seating, and a nice outdoor deck. They don't serve food, so you have to have a membership, but it's super cheap. We didn't ask but we think it's 10% of your bill. The interior is beautiful and it's clear that whoever designed it did so with love and care and a flair for the outside the box thinking. It somehow has the ambience of classy and chic, yet not uptight and unwelcoming. A feel of "come as you are and have a drink with us!" Their cocktails are delicious and very fairly priced! They also have a small selection of craft beer and wine, but go for the craft cocktails!

Went for an after-work cocktail on Friday and had a good experience. Service was quick and the cocktails were unique, well thought out, and yummy. There decor is loungy with a lot of bench seating, plus patio and large bar. Food is ordered through a QR code on the tables & delivered from Acme next door, but limited to only a few snack items. The drink menu is seasonal so I'll definitely be back to try the new stuff!

Romantic date night spot located in the heart of Carrboro. Perfect walking distance to other bars, the Hampton Inn, and downtown Carrboro. Bar service is spectacular and the drinks are amazing!

This chic and stylish bar sits in an innocuous space on Main Street (across from the Spotted Dog) in Carrboro. Inside it's a comfortable space with a small seating area up front, large L-shaped bar and eclectic decor all around. While they have a small selection of beers, you should definitely go with the house cocktails here at Atlas. My Moscow Mule was pretty potent and nicely mixed. The space is pretty cool and relaxed but I was visiting during the early evening hours. I'm guessing that Atlas could get a bit rowdy as the night wears on but we shall see! I'll be back to see what else is up at the Atlas, sometime soon...

Decent cocktails. Bartenders that act like they'd rather be anywhere but behind the bar making you a drink.

I got the two empanadas with aside and was able to try both the chicken and the pork. I think I liked the chicken a little bit more, but both of them were very good and the plantains were also very good. Not overly sweet, but also not super dry. I will say the parking is kind of annoying without parking space directly nearby. Had to park in the parking garage across the street. The server was very nice and mindful of waters and when we needed things. I will say almost $20 for a regular dish seemed very expensive but the food was pretty good so I would probably come back - just for the cheaper empanadas as they were pretty filling as it was. The one thing that kind of threw me off was how they set the table with their water cups upside down, touching the table. I wouldn't say that I'm a clean freak, but also that seems kind of gross to me because that's where my mouth is going to be... I'd probably do something different there myself. This definitely is more of a Chapel Hill / Carrboro money type of dining experience $$ but I'd be back on nicer occasions. The pastry on the empanadas were very good. Really liked the yuca Frits as well

The place is quite small, with about five tables, and maybe 12 seats at the bar. We sat at the bar as we only wanted drinks and snack. Christian, the bartender, greeted us right away and brought food and drink menus. He explained the specials and took our drink orders. My companion found an interesting Greek white wine, and I asked for a boulevardier, my go-to cocktail for a new place. The wine was to her liking, and the cocktail was about the best example I've had in recent memory. Christian used Woodford Reserve bourbon and Campari rather than Aperol so it had a slightly less bitter taste and was a lovely auburn color. The food menu was very interesting, with lots of items we've never tried. We ordered caesar salad with anchovies, green beans in garlic-soup sauce, panella (a chick-pea and cream cheese dish), and seasoned French fries. It was all yummy and delivered together. The service we got really couldn't have been much better: attentive without hovering. The food and drink quality was outstanding, and we thought the prices were very reasonable for what we got. In short, thanks Christian, and we'll be back.

The ambiance felt fresh and inviting, which I appreciated--especially because there were no lingering bar or leftover food odors that sometimes affect restaurant spaces. The menu prices seemed a tiny bit high until I read the note that the restaurants had raised the menu prices to make gratuity "truly optional," so that's totally fine. We started off our meal with some complimentary bread, which was honestly pretty mediocre. It was a very tiny portion and the accompanying olive oil just tasted like... olive oil. It felt like the bread was store-bought or something, which isn't the end of the world, but combined with the portion size, it was just a little surprising for a nice restaurant. For my entree, I got the steak frites, and they were very good! The steak was cooked medium rare as requested. I also got some truffle aioli on the side (suggested by the food busser!) and it was pretty tasty too. My wife got the beet and kale lasagna and she really enjoyed it, although it wasn't really enough food as an entree :) Beer selection was OK but nothing crazy good. I asked for the non-alcoholic IPA and they were out of it, which was kind of a bummer. Also, when we were paying our bill, the automated system still asked us for a gratuity without any warning about the gratuity being baked into the menu prices, so that was a little surprising but not a huge deal. Overall, I liked Glasshalfull and would definitely consider coming back.
