Found this place on Yelp while in town visiting my son ... WHAT A FIND!! The service is exceptional and then there is the food ... YUMMIEEEE!! A cute little place with a cute patio area when weather permits. Very nice large variety of food as well!! Will come back here for sure !!! Almost forgot they offered 3 or 4 types of awesome soup ... hard to pick which one to get ...

Went here for the first time today. It's a super cute family owned type of place. The food was great and the service was fast! This meal was about $10 and filled me up. I'll be returning!

    French dip

Great hidden gem. French dip is to die for. Highly recommend for a great lunch spot during the week!

Disappointing breakfast for one of the top rated diners in the area. I had ordered a few ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches on a bagel. The eggs were not fresh, almost resembling a Dunkin donut or fast food style egg. Parts of the egg were a strange color as well and did not taste right. The ham was standard lunch meat pressed to resemble something cooked in a pan and the bagel did not appear fresh. Safe to say I will be avoiding this spot when visiting NC in the future

If you are looking for one of those hidden gems to have a good sammich at, this place is your spot. Not sure how I found out about this cafe, but while doing errands around Raleigh I decided to duck in and find it. It is way back in an office complex building on Wade Park Blvd off Edwards Mill Rd, near Cardinal Gibbons High School area. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never look for it! There is a corner entrance so you don't have to go into the (very very nice) office building itself. It is a very modest, simple place but decorated nicely, see the pics I managed to nab. You order at the counter and the staff bring it out with your name as the identifer on the order. Their goods range from sandwiches and paninis, salads and soups, and even breakfast if you catch them early enough. There are daily specials as well. As I stopped in on a Wednesday, I chose the Super Reuben daily special with corned beef and turkey with a side of chips. It was great, it is rarely that a sandwich satisfies me for a meal but this one did the trick, and pretty tasty to boot. They have a large assortment of drink options, from self serve fountain drinks to a self serve fridge of fruit juices and drinks and other assorted beverages. I got a Berkley & Jensen Mandarin Orange Sparking Water Beverage in a 20 oz bottle, delish...I'm going to remember that one. The staff were busy with their duties but nice and attentive on my visit. Catch 'em early though, because they are only open until 230pm. Nice for the office staff in this complex to get a good lunch. Bottom line: Great hidden gem for a good sammich. Lots of choices. Modest cafe but clean and nice, with good staff. There is even a nice park opposite the building so if you want to go outside and eat, you can enjoy (water fountain, sculpture art, benches, and all). I think these guys are going to see me again.

    Cute little cafe

Wade Park Cafe was wonderful for lunch yesterday! This cafe sits in the base of a very nice office building in Wade Park, right off Wade Avenue, I-40, and 440. It's only open for breakfast and lunch, but has several options from croissants, sandwiches, panini, salads, and soups. I chose the Cranberry Gorgonzola salad and shrimp corn chowder pairing. My only complaint about ordering that was that I didn't see the "pair" option on the menu. Thankfully, it was offered to me to make my preference more affordable at around $8.95 than $7 + $4.50 for the soup. The cranberry gorgonzola salad had cranberries, walnuts, grapes, blueberries, mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, and even a red pepper. I enjoyed the raspberry vinaigrette, but when I asked for some extra to go, I learned that it's just Ken's Dressing so not fresh and made in house. My shrimp corn chowder was in between a cup and bowl size. Both items were fresh and delicious and I had leftovers for dinner! This is a simple cafe. It's not much to look at, but it has a small staff, is decorated in a rather quaint manner, and the food is good. I'll definitely be going back.

I paid $8 for a plain bagel & a sprinkle of fruit. The side of fruit is almost $4 alone... for basically no fruit. Feeling ripped off

It says they are open until 2pm and the door was locked at 1:30. Frustrating. Hopefully, they will honor their hours in the future.

You walk in and have a little self-type market area and immediately to the right there are refrigerators with prepared meals to buy and take home. Straight after the Shelf section there is the butcher shop with all cuts of meats. I liked the concept where you could even pick your meats and have the chef cook them there for you and you can dine in! They also had an area for dining in and sitting at a bar. The bar had many choices of drinks and a wine section in the back to the side. There was a patio area as well. I decided to have some lunch so I got the salmon BLT which was delicious and I got the side of hot honey brussel sprouts. I ordered some lasagna to take home for a meal later. The salmon was cooked perfectly at a medium temperature and the flavoring was great. The brussel sprouts had just enough kick to them and was a great portion size for two or more. The lasagna was good and also a good size but it is a little bit spicy so if you dont like spice be prepared for a little tiny bit. All was delish. The pricing for everything is on point and not too expensive. They also have specials most of the days of the week! Peyton helped me with my to go orders and I met Ralph the owner who told me about the concept of everything. I will definitely be back and I would highly recommend! Second time back was wonderful! Sat and dined in. I got the $1 wings special with barbecue, mac and cheese, and salmon salad. The wings were jumbo size which is great because unlike other places they weren't the size of your pinky. The mac and cheese was very flavorful with the small crisp. The salmon salad was neat because it came and deconstructed segments so you could really pick which toppings you wanted on each bite. The dressing on it was amazing and so was the ranch for the wings. I was attended to by Desiah and Liam who were other so personable and lovely! All of the portions are amazing and I love it because I have food for a few days. Definitely going to come back again to try some of the new items that they've added to their menu.

The atmosphere strikes that nice balance between relaxed and refined, where conversation flows without feeling rushed. She went with the filet mignon, cooked medium, and it came out exactly as requested, tender, flavorful, and clearly handled with care. That's what she said. I ordered the chicken pesto entrée, which held its own with a rich, well-balanced flavor that didn't try too hard but delivered where it mattered. Now, the real standout: the Hot Honey Roasted Brussels. Those were done to perfection. Crisp on the outside, tender inside, with just the right touch of sweetness and heat. Frankly, I could eat those daily without a second thought. Service deserves a nod, too. The chef stopped by the table to check in, which we were not expecting. Payton, our server, had a great read on the table, attentive when needed, but gave us the space to enjoy the evening without interruption. That kind of awareness goes a long way, especially on a date. All in, it's the kind of place that quietly does things right. Good food, easy atmosphere, and just enough polish to make the night feel a little special. Definitely a strong choice when you're hoping for a second date that turns into a third.
