I've been to Parker & Otis twice now. It is at Bay 4 in the American Tobacco Campus. It is a combination of a sandwich shop and a gift shop. You order at the counter and when your order is ready, your name is called. There is limited inside seating and courtyard seating. If there is a group inside, it gets very loud. I had No.28 both visits as I really love the combination of peanut butter, bananas, bacon and honey. I'm not sure why plastic wrap is used on each sandwich, as it seems wasteful as it is already wrapped. Each sandwich comes with a fortune cookie too. On my first visit I had a salad with corn and tomatoes that was delicious. I enjoyed both sandwiches too as I ordered it again. It is very messy so remember to get extra napkins. The gift shop is great, filled with NC items, books, stationery, puzzles, toys and so much more. The store is decorated well. Sometimes I wasn't sure what was decoration and what was for sale.

A must visit! The mix of a coffee shop with a elevated Hallmark store. Stoped in just for a coffee and so glad I did. I tried the pistachio rose latte and it was out of this world! Along with a delicious cheddar biscuit. Seating inside to enjoy any goodies.

I had no idea that P&O was a whole gift shop in addition to a cafe! I got the iced pistachio matcha latte, which was a subpar matcha latte tbh. The pistachio essence was strong, but I couldn't taste matcha at all. So this review should be 3 stars, but I love the American Tobacco Campus' ambiance so much that I will bump it up haha. It could totally be possible that their coffee is much better, and the sandwiches I've had from here the past were pretty good. Service was fast & friendly. There's free nearby parking in City of Durham garages on the weekends and after 7pm on weekdays; I think ATC's garages are also free on weekends or for 2 hrs on weekdays. 6.5/10 would maybe recommend!

Delicious sandwiches, friendly staff, and awesome vibes inside this knickknack store/sandwich shop!! Stopped by on our way to tour Duke and it was exactly what we needed. It is located inside the American Tobacco district of Durham which is filled with local shops and restaurants. This place is well worth your money, packing your sandwiches with a more than generous portion of meat. My favorite was the No. 17 with the olive tapenade bringing such diverse flavors into sandwich. I also tried the No. 22 however found it to almost have 'too much' meat, taking away from the flavor of the avocado. I am already looking forward to coming back, this would be an awesome place to take visitors out for a quick yet yummy lunch!

I have actually been looking for a sandwich shop in this area with the gas station/convenience store vibe and I was so delighted to find this place. It is everything you want a sandwich shop to look like. There is a fridge full of different drinks and sides they make fresh, walls of candies and chocolates, and a whole store of items on the other side. You can find all types of unique and international chocolates and they even had a window of baked goods that were actually plush toys. There are multiples lines to jump in and order sandwiches from. You can also build your own sandwich which I did. The staff is nice and it didn't take long for my name to be called. There is no indoor seating but there is plenty of outdoor seating and the area is very cute. I built a nice fat turkey sandwich with jam, cheese, avocado, herb dressing, and more and had it hot on sourdough bread. It was so satisfying. The corn salad was also super refreshing and yummy. I definitely love this place. You can't go wrong.

I adore Parker & Otis. This is always one of my MUST VISITS when I come to Durham & I've been a patron for years even when they were in their old location. It's a quick counter order for really delicious & creative coffee options (and they use pebble ice!) They have a good variety of sandwiches on their menu and none of the food ever disappoints, but their pimento cheese is one of my favorites around. An added bonus is the atmosphere with the gift shop that is full of exciting options for any type of gift you need to pull together.

If you want a sandwich in Durham this is your place! Plus it's a HUGE sandwich! They do not skimp on the toppings! Saw all the yummy reviews on Yelp and decided I needed to try this place out while in town. I had the 25 which is the pepper jelly Turkey sandwich. I got it on sourdough and added tomato and it was delicious! Super generous size and the other half was great for breakfast the next morning. My husband enjoyed his roast beef sandwich and the cheerwine and chips were all yummy. Nice customer service and I wish I lived there bc I would be hitting up this place for sandwiches all the time!

Love this place! My friend and I tried the chicken salad sandwich and the white bean salad sandwich with turkey added. Both were good and super filling. The chicken salad definitely tastes a bit mustardy so if you don't like mustard maybe avoid it. The store they have inside is cute with little gifty items and it's right on the American tobacco campus so a super nice spot to eat outside.

Great location and friendly service. The food was very good. I had a blt and a coke. About $14. No sides included. The sandwich was very good but that price is a bit high for what you get. I guess the location is the main factor. The store attached had some interesting and eclectic offerings. You order at the counter, wait for your name to be called then take your food outside or back to your office. It is very convenient. My office is in the tobacco warehouse building so it's one of the places to grab lunch that's close.

    Breakfast Biscuit BLT

Breakfast Biscuit was huge and delicious. The inside of Parker and Otis is always so fun and plenty of things to buy. I've also tried their sandwiches which are good. Ordered ahead so service was quick but courteous.

super cute mix between bookstore, knick knacks and cafe. Cafe offerings mostly salad and sandwiches. The sandwiches are creative ... I had to get No 28 - peanut butter, bacon, banana and honey on a toasted sourdough. Delicious! The store itself is bright and colorful, well light, eye catching displays and variety of goods. Would love to visit again when I'm back in town

It was my first time at the American Tobacco Campus and overall, I just love this place. Parker and Otis has such a great location within the campus and it was a beautiful day, so I sat outside. I wanted to try something different, so I got the Turkey and Pepper Jelly sandwich and it was delicious. I've never had pepper jelly on and sandwich and the "herb spread" seemed like a dip smeared on but it complimented the pepper jelly well. The salted honey pistachio latte was phenomenal. If I come back to Durham again soon, I would absolutely bring friends back here! On top of having a great deli and cafe, the store items were great. You could come here and find gifts for anyone of any age and they had very unique options to choose from. What a cool little place!

I have always loved Parker & Otis, but sadly haven't been in years. We had the opportunity to check it out at it's new location. Happy to say- I still LOVE it. Every part of the place is inviting! We all ordered sandwiches for lunch. I ordered the #26 the turkey and stonewall kitchen mango chutney. It was so so good. And I was happy that I was given extra napkins because the sandwich was full of goodness. I also ordered an Americano and it was perfect. After we ate our lunches outside we came back to look around the cute shop. I couldn't help buying a few toffees as a treat for the ride home. I hope I get to come back soon!

Came here after the Durham Farmers Market with a friend and wow this place was a surprise. …read more I went with the grain bowl and honestly it is one of the best I have had in downtown Durham. It is built on quinoa and rice with black beans and kale, then layered with corn salsa, tomato cortido, guacamole, and a creamy acevichado style sauce that pulls everything together. It is finished with a crunchy mix of pepitas, nuts, and grains. The balance is quite ideal in my view. My friend had the rotisserie chicken with two sides, kale and slaw, and it was just as impressive. Crispy skin, juicy inside, and really clean flavors. Simple food done right and GF friendly. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Prices land right where you would expect for the quality, roughly 16 to 21 dollars depending on what you order, and it feels worth it. My bowl plus side of dark chicken was plenty. A few notes. Parking is what you would expect for downtown, so plan accordingly. Service was solid and friendly, but nothing that stood out. The vibe inside is festive and relaxed, bright and open, and just a fun place to hang out for lunch. Porbably not a special occasion. I also suspect it could get loud when full. This is definitely going into my regular rotation. That grain bowl is going to be hard to pass up next time, so instead of replacing it I will probably just add a side or an empanada and start working my way through the rest of the menu.

The reviews were glowing, and repeatedly warned about the wait, that my expectations were probably set too high going in. I got the steak and eggs crepe and added avocado, extra steak, and kale. The eggs sit on top, and mine came closer to over-hard than the over-medium I asked for -possibly from sitting in the to-go box for 15 minutes, so I'll give some benefit of the doubt there. The crepe itself was tasty, and honestly I'd come back to try something off the sweets menu. But the fillings didn't land. The steak was a little chewy, and the mushrooms were cut too thick for a crepe -- they made it hard to cut cleanly and felt out of place. The add-ons I'll leave alone since those were my call. Overall the dish felt fairly run-of-the-mill against the hype. One note: this might be a dish better served by not allowing customizations, to keep it consistent to its intent. What threw me is that "steak and eggs" is the menu item, yet they also offer a carne asada crepe with no eggs ...so the only real difference is eggs placed on top, which doesn't change the crepe itself. Felt clear as mud after unboxing my meal. The latte I got was standard. Nothing wrong with it, nothing memorable. I've seen this place many times but I didn't really know much except that the noodles were pretty and that was the case but also, there's a large pastry case inside with a good selection of cakes and delicious sweets. Good to know... Because of the wintry weather they created a special SnowMan menu which was really original by my opinion. It's tight inside. The tables are really close together, which is a good thing because as a Foodie I love to see what the others choose and chat with them. So that's what we did- the table next to us told us they recommended the Rice Porridge Bowl and the Belt Noodles. We can definitely call this kind of cuisine comfort food, especially during this chilly weather. Fun fact, my spouse took a little bit of my rice porridge to mix with the rest of her bowl to counter the spicy broth and the flavors were matchee so well. I did the same, taking broth from her noodle bowl to add to my porridge and it was so good. If you come if for the first try doing the same and tell us what you think. We've also had several unfriendly servers who make you feel like you're imposing on them / it's your fault when they bring out wrong food. Mr and Mrs Meddis - please improve your operations, it's a bummer to no longer visit your establishment.

They crack those oysters there and then. Lots of fresh oyster liquor. Not some dried up tasteless oyster. I never once considered waffle fries with tartar sauce. Now, it's almost an addiction. We'll typically sit at the side bar area and chat with the employees, who are always friendly and knowledgeable about what they serve. And we'll grab a beer from the nearby bar- it is a food hall, after all- and enjoy a nice meal. They have new specials based on what's good, and they always make them tasty. We love this spot. Always on our rotation.

Plenty of seating since it's shared with all the other vendors. Being that it's in a food hall, if someone in your party doesn't particularly care of Locals, they can easily get something different. This is a huge selling point so that everyone can be happy and full. We ordered: - 4 grilled oysters - a dozen raw oysters - shrimp po boy (with generous portions of shrimp) - some huge fish, maybe snapper? - kale salad Everything about this place is so fresh. You never have to wonder how long it's sat there or if there has been enough patrons to keep the supply fresh. You know at Locals that everything is always on point. Highly recommend to anyone with a fresh seafood itch!
