    Grits Bowl

Mmm mmm good. Cute little cafe style breakfast/brunch spot. You order at the counter and seat yourself. They'll bring your food out when ready. The eggs Benedict was on point with flavor. Delicious hollandaise sauce though the egg was a little overcooked and not as runny as I usually prefer. The hash browns needed a lot of salt and pepper to get them up to flavor. The grits, however were delicious. Creamy cheesy goodness. Get here early on weekends, seating gets taken pretty quickly and we were stuck with a small table with little elbow room.

Still a cute brunch spot!! This time I ordered a 3 Egg omelette with my choice of veggies and a side of grits! A main course and a latte run a total between $15-$20.

Top end breakfast options. Fast service for a place that does a lot of business. Comfortable and ample seating both indoors and out. Ideal feel for a diner.

I got the big bull breakfast and it was so yummy and sooooo much food. The ooey gooey butter cake was so rich too much for me. I cannot wait to come again.

Half Roast Beef Sandwich with half the Charleston $13

Had lunch here today with the bestie. I had never been but she had for breakfast and said she enjoyed it. The parking was a little busy during lunch hour...I had to circle a couple of times to find a spot. It shares a parking lot with a post office a couple of other eateries. The interior was cute but the acoustics made it a bit noisy. You go up to the front to order your food. They ask for a tip but all they do is punch in your order and bring your food. You have to get your own drink, napkins and silverware as well as bus your own dishes. I got half the Roast Beef sandwich with half of the Charleston salad. The sandwich was good...respectable ratio of meat and cheese. The salad was alright but this may sound odd, but it had a bit too much goat cheese. Like, almost made the salad DRY. And the balsamic vinaigrette was thicker than I'm used to. But it was decent for $13. Bestie got the Turkey & Brie with the Chappy. She said it was OK but not as good as their breakfast. An OK option for lunch but I feel there are may more options to try in the area.

I treated myself breakfast today and got myself a chai latte and the huevos rancheros! I was there early enough that there was ample seating. There was no line, service was efficient and tasted really good! Thank you for a nice meal!

I love discovering new restaurants! This place is so adorable! They have plenty of seating inside and outside. They offer a variety of healthy options! I went for lunch and had the shrimp and kale salad! The wait was a little long but there were a a lot of people inside. Service was decent; however I did not enjoy my salad. It had potential but was very dry and needed more dressing.

I wanted to take the time to review this restaurant because I had such a great experience. I got the steak, eggs, hash, peppers, onions , and cheese. While I know this is a simple meal you can mess it up trust me! I got the steak medium well and the eggs are over medium the flavors melded together so well. The steak is just so thick and delicious. I got my food super fast and the staff were so friendly. To state this because this means something in a town with so many restaurant, and places that do breakfast I came back for the first time since 2019 and it's not because it's not really good. I promise I will be back much soon the parking lot is huge as well and special parking for takeout orders only! The restaurant has outside space and the drinks were pouring this morning it's always fun seeing a full restaurant!! Thank you!!!

Atmosphere: Bull and Bean is a brunch spot in Durham with a laid-back and relaxed feel. A nice spot to meet up with friends for a casual meal! It wasn't too busy when we arrived, but it may get difficult to find seating during peak brunch hours. Service: We ordered to-go and our food came out relatively quickly. If you're dining in, you order at the counter, and food is brought to your table. Food: We ordered the Grits Bowl with Shrimp and the Cuban Sandwich. We were big fans of the Grits Bowl! It was just cheesy enough and had a great balance of vegetables in addition to the juicy shrimp. The Cuban Sandwich was filling, and the pickles and dijon mustard gave a nice tangy flavor. While the sandwich was a bit salty, it was a solid pick overall. Overall: With great meals both for dine-in and takeout, Bull and Bean is a solid spot for brunch in Durham. We're looking forward to coming back and trying their specials!

My friend and I came for the first time to try their Sunday brunch. The menu is pretty extensive and they offer and variety of different items. I chose a simple egg and meat sandwich and it came out pretty fast. The sandwich was yummy and not too expensive. I would for sure come back to try out their other items!

If you add a topping, you pay the full upcharge, even though it's just half a pizza (though maybe they put a whole pizza's worth on half?). I got the calamari, thinking that for a $15 app, it could just be my lunch. Alas, the portion was quite small (see photo; several of the fried bits were fried pepper, not even squid), and it was just okay. Some pieces were pretty rubbery. I also tried a bit of my husband's pizza. The crust is lovely, and the sauce was very flavorful and complex. Service was friendly but a bit lacking. They forgot to bring out my husband's salad until after his pizza came out, and when we were done, I had to go find a waitperson to get our check. Also when I googled up the lunch special price to double-check, I learned it's also supposed to come with a drink, which I guess they forgot to tell us or offer us. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the spring weather. If a friend suggested meeting up here to grab a drink and share a pizza, I'd say sure! But I wouldn't waste my money on the calamari again.

I came at 5:45 on a Monday (because no other places are open on Mondays!), and was one of maybe four me. In the place. The rest were moms with one or two (or more!) kids, some waiting for dad to join them after work. I ate in a covered patio that in a few months will be too hot to endure. But tonight, mid-March, it's a sunny delight. I ordered a smashburger and a Kingstown Negroni. Drae stirred my drink and out the order in, and it arrived with fries just minutes later. Juicy double patty burger, caramelized onions, cheese, salt & pepper fries. Fresh and very tasty. WiFi was fast, music was smooth but subdued. (Think Sade and Barry White dueling. Wish I wasn't alone!) Kids were everywhere, but very well-behaved and in explore mode, which I find adorable! There are outside areas covered in open or tarps, clear flexi-glass walled off areas, and true "indoor" places you can watch TV in. Everything from Top Gear to REN & Stimpy. A great way to spend an early dinner/very late lunch.

You could order from the bar or order from the unique QR CODE attached to each table. You could close out from your phone or the bar. Since it was our first time at Pure Soul, the host gave us drinks on the house (we got Sweet Tea, Lemonade, and Root Beer). The tea and lemonade were on the sweeter side, but I enjoyed both. My sister liked the root beer, which was from Uncle's Scott's, a local NC brand. They also offer a discount for teachers, students, and veterans. For entrees, we got the: - Drumstix plate (BBQ, buffalo, or fried- included rice and a sauce): We chose fried- it was perfectly crispy, so tasty. Couldn't choose between hot honey and honey mustard, so they gave us both, again so nice. Rice was well-cooked. - Chicago burger (grilled onions, cheddar, pickles, tangy aioli): Classic! Enjoyed this overall. - Fried fish plate (includes rice, slaw & tartar sauce): This is funny, but this dish was a bit too fishy for me lol. But crazy how well they do their vegan alternatives. - BBQ plate ("pulled pork" in a sweet BBQ sauce, served with slaw): Probably my least favorite entree, I think the pork was too sweet for me, but it did balance with the slaw. We tried a bunch of sides, which from my most to least favorites were: Soul Mac (not too cheesy), Hushpuppies (crispy outside, pillowy inside), Rob's Favorite Cornbread (so moist), Sweet Potato Fries (classic), Bilbo's Greens, Blackeyed Peas & Veggies, and Nik's Candied Yams (too sweet for me). Ambiance is nice with both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking available. 10/10 would recommend!

Our son had the kids impossible burger and mac n cheese. My wife had the Soul Rolls and I had the bbq (vinegar based) plate with slaw, mac and cheese and greens. We also had 2 drumsticks. The kids plate was devoured quickly- the burger is slider-sized and comes with onion, tomato, lettuce and pickles on the side (surprisingly the veggies were untouched but I claimed the pickles). My wife said the Soul Rolls were a 10/10- crispy eggrolls stuffed with mac, greens and sweet bbq protein. My plate was good too but I wish it came with bread instead of counting it as a side. Also wish it had a little sauce on the side. Greens were seasoned well and the mac was creamy. Drumstick was amazing but a bit steep at 4 bucks each. Only criticism is that we wish the side portions were a little bigger for the price. Still won't stop us from returning in the future when in town!
