Cool soccer pub. I stopped by with my husband, and we had appetizers and beer. I liked that the Fried Pickles had some big pieces, I prefer a heavier pickle-to-batter ratio. The Bang-Bang Tots were unique and slightly spicy, I loved them with ranch. The beer was good and the bartenders were helpful. Went for a company lunch and it was a perfect pick for a group. I had the BLT and it was delicious, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, and really good toasted bread. The smoked wings were delicious. They tasted more air fried or baked than deep fried which was a plus. The sauerkraut sausage with pretzel bun wasn't my thing. Super flavorful and huge and juicy but just wasn't into the flavor profile. My husband loved it. The pimento Mac and cheese is definitely more of a preference thing because my daughter said it tastes very "different", my husband thought it tasted like how his mom used to make it which he loved, and I wasn't a fan. It wasn't objectionable but just not my cup of tea. Something to note is that the pimento taste is very mild and not spicy whatsoever for those who may be concerned. Service was good. You can also purchase merchandise. There is a full bar towards the side with more seating and TVs. I ordered a burger with fries, which was good even though they missed the bacon I had ordered with it. A chicken sandwich and a hot dog, both with fries and some chicken wings. The wings had a smoky flavor to them. Very different to anything I had tried before. My kiddo did not like her hot dog. Unfortunately, I did not try it so can't comment on it. You order at the checkout counter and they give you a number then you seat. They bring the food to you once ready. The place had arcades so it was great for kids and even had seating outdoors if you want to get away from the noise. Very kewl spot. My wife and I tried The Boot Room for the first time today. We arrived at 2:30 PM. It was not busy. There was only one other customer. You have to order at the counter. Everything else is self-service except that they do bring the food to the table. You have to get your own drinks. The cashier/waitress barely acknowledged us even after we told her it was our first time. She showed us the menu and turned her back on us until I told her we were ready to order. The food is expensive. You pay when you order. The tip selections start at 20% ... and for basically self-serve and no customer service that is very HIGH. The food was delivered to our table. After that nobody ever checked on us. I had to walk back to the counter to ask for more ranch dressing. Overall, the food was good. The decor is nice. However, based on the service, we will not be coming back. read more

First- the food at this place is epic! It leans into the international fan base of soccer without feeling too "fusion-y". It shares space with a brewery too, so there is a great craft beer selection! I ordered a vegan burger with Pimento cheese Macaron andi cheese, the French onion dip and the Grilled Nutella. If this restaurant has one flaw, it's the lack of flavor. The burger was good, but I added my own flavoring at home. The chips are great, but the dip has absolutely no flavor at all. We could not figure out how to save that and ended up trashing the dip. The mac was really good, but you cannot taste the paminto cheese. The grilled Nutella was delicious! My mom, got a burger with tater tots. She told me it was good, but didn't have much flavor either. A super solid pub-style eatery connected to Beer Study with great service, great food, and a vibe that makes me want to stay all day and watch soccer. Menu has options for all sorts of dietary restrictions and preferences without making you feel like you have limited options, which is always a plus, and in addition to their cans and bottles, you can always walk through the threshold to order a drink from Beer Study! It was honestly difficult for me to decide what to eat because there were so many great-sounding options. There wasn't hardly anyone in there and it was quiet, which was fine with me. I was excited to try some of their eats and cheerily said "hello" to the young woman at the counter. Maybe I was a bit too cheery cos I just got a blank stare. So blank I was taken aback and asked her if they were open. She very quietly said yes. I said I wondered cos you just stared at me and then I laughed. She said nothing, so I asked if I could order to eat in. She nodded. So I ordered my food and a soda. She repeated something. Again, very soft spoken, which doesn't work well with a mask on. I had to ask her again and it something was about the soda. OK. Turned out the ice machine was broken at the soda fountain. Maybe that's what she was trying to convey in her very quiet voice. I asked if there was any ice in the back and she got me a cup of some. After getting my drink I sat at a nearby table and waited for my order. When it arrived, a Polish sausage sandwich, it was huge. Served in a pretzel roll, which I didn't realize would be toasted. Nice that it was warm, but it would be better steamed, just my opinion. There was supposed to be some brown mustard on it, which I didn't taste or see anywhere. It would have been good with the kraut that was on the sausage. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. The pickles on the side were delicious. I ordered grandma's macaroni salad for my side and it was macaroni, but nothing salady about it. I realized it was the pimento mac and cheese, which I didn't order. It was very, very dry. It just didn't seem worth with my time to try to converse again with the young lady at the counter, who barely speaks audibly, so I just ate what I could of it. It wasn't very good tho. We hosted in the back two rooms, and not only were the drinks and bar service fantastic, they were also reasonably priced. Additionally, the staff were incredibly communicative and knowledgable. We worked primarily with Evan and Miguel, who did an amazing job at ensuring our group was well taken care of and that the venue was prepped for us. Upon walking in, there appears to be 3 separate places, which is slightly confusing. There's a place to order right when you walk in, but a sign towards the back left says "Boot Room" and leads to a bar area. It would probably have help if anyone had spoken to us when we got there. Once we finally figured out we were in the right spot, we ordered our food, found a seat, and went to the adjoining "taproom" to get a couple beers. The guy in the taproom greeted us right away, and was very friendly/helpful. The food and beer were very good, they just need to work on the "service" when you walk in, because it's definitely not inviting. So I've been looking for places to try in Durham and I've been going to some spots that I might not normally try. This place is a soccer pub with a restaurant attached where you order at the front, get your number and take a seat. I'd seen some good reviews about the food so decided to venture out. I decided on the Stevie G. chicken sandwich with the pimento cheese Mac and Cheese for my side. While the Mac and Cheese was pretty basic with a hint of pimento, the sandwich absolutely blew my mind. It's smoked and fried and comes on a potato bun with lettuce, tomato, pickled red onions and and adobo blue cheese. The chicken breast was perfectly seasoned, fried crispy and not over-breaded and so juicy. This is BY FAR the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. While researching new breweries on Yelp in Durham, I stumbled across this place. Knowing my weakness for hot pretzels and charcuterie plates, when I saw the "Twisted Charcuterie" on their website, I was sold. We grabbed a beer from the connected brewery, Beer Study, and sat in the Boot section. The joint was hopping! This is a very cool place that has something for everybody. Board Games, video games, pin ball, lounge seating, outdoor seating, draft beer, canned beer, wine, food etc., etc. The draft beer from Beer Study was very good. Our Twisted Pretzel, met the expectation, but didn't wow me the way the picture did. It still wouldn't deter me from coming back and ordering something different. I appreciate when places featuring pub food include a solid vegetarian/vegan option, and The Boot Room is certainly one of them - I had the Morgan which had a decent veggie patty, good veggie toppings, and a crisply toasted vegan brioche bun. Since I was there at brunch time I also added in an order of donut holes with cinnamon sugar which were delicious! The restaurant works on counter service, and you can take your food anywhere in the restaurant, to the outdoor patio space, and also to Beer Study which is connected from the inside; you can also order drinks at the Beer Study bar to go with your meal! They have tons of TVs all over the place showing different sports games. We asked if we could watch the US Open and the staff was very friendly and found a way to stream it on the TV next to us.
