The food here was absolutely amazing! I came for lunch and couldn't decide between a salad or a sandwich so I decided on both. The kitchen sink salad today had shrimp on it and it was one of the tastiest salads I've had in a while! So much flavor and texture that I really only barely needed the dressing. The chicken salad sandwich was very good too but the salad was for sure the star for me. I also got an iced chai latte with oatmilk and I only felt it could have been more flavorful. This is one of my favorite brunch places. The ambiance is really cool and unique and the service was friendly and fast. The food was AMAZING. Large portions, quick, but clearly freshly made. Ingredients and menu items are creative and clearly there is a focus on health and wellness. I had a delicious breakfast bowl that left me super full and super happy as well as some really good coffee. Although I can't remember what my girlfriend had, I DO remember she really liked it and keeps mentioning she wants to go back. Maybe this weekend! Update: went a second time since they have changed their name and was slightly less impressed with the food quality. My fiancé had the same thing she had last time (loaded hash brown plate with brisket) and the portions were somewhat smaller and not quite as flavorful. Was pleasantly surprised that Bull and Bean was having their 10 year anniversary specials this past weekend. The steak was tender and cooked well and the eggs were yummy, but the hash browns were pretty salty. My friends said theirs was either ok or under-seasoned and potatoes are my favorite part of brunch. The coffee was good but my friend said her matcha didn't taste like matcha at all. Hmmm... my review is somewhere between a 2-2.5. I really wanted to love this place! First impression: It's a cute, cozy place in a really nice luxe plaza. Also, have you seen the post office over there? WOW. We made a reservation since we were told that's how they are operating during Covid. When we arrived, it wasn't busy at all and there were only 3-4 other tables full. Service was kind of awkward throughout but I didn't let that affect my rating. Food was less than average, eggs had an odd taste to them to the point where I didn't eat one (keep in mind I enjoy Waffle House). Potatoes were dry as well as the tablecake (pancake) tasted like it was 2 days old. I don't know if I didn't get the right thing or what, but this was their "Bull Breakfast". What a great find off of Yelp. My wife and I were searching for a new place for breakfast and boy did we hit a home run. Fun, youthful, family atmosphere. The place is not big to be sure so it feels very crowded in a good kind of way. There's a protocol for dining. Go to the register and order and pay. Take your number and find a table inside or out. You fetch your napkins, tableware, soft drinks, water and coffee. If you want a specialty coffee they will bring it to you. After you're finished you bus your own table to a station in the back of the restaurant. Now, for the food. Absolutely delicious. My wife had the Brioche French toast and I had the Italian Breakfast Skillet. The Skillet was incredibly flavorful and generous with all of the fresh ingredients served piping hot. There was nothing left on my wife's plate except a bit of the generous amount of whipped cream on her French toast. Not that there was anything left to take home, but there was I'd go fetch a to-go box. You can bet we'll be back! read more

But the atmosphere is charming and the food was delicious. Be aware that the specials and the daily menu are similar so you need to specify which one you want. This truly is a nice and quant restaurant/diner with friendly staff who pride themselves in a quality product for the customers consumption. This was actually my 3rd time eating here. The Steak Eggs and loaded Hashbrown breakfast is a item to have for brunch. Today my wife and I had Phil's favorite BLT with Avocado. Perfect for someone not wanting to much or too little and my wife ordered the Chicken Philly. The greedy me wished I order that. It was so great and the chicken was so tender. I would definitely recommend this spot. I would advise that tables are first come first serve in a sense you seat yourself. "A-OK" seems to be the perfect classification for it. Had the rice bowl with egg, avocado, mushrooms and peppers. Maybe there was too much oil used to stir fry the mushrooms and peppers and to cook the eggs, because the bowl was too rich in an greasy sort of way. Things were salted properly though. I had never heard of this place but saw it after leaving the Shannon Rd post office. I was pleasantly surprised to find they offered more than coffee because I was hungry. Bull and Bean do Saturday and Sunday brunch from 8am-3pm per the menu. Walking in, the atmosphere is bright and very clean, very nicely done. They have a nice market and cooler to select from if you are not there for a meal, as well. Being as we wanted brunch, we got our menus and perused our choices. Their workflow is going to the counter and ordering, paying, then getting a number to carry to your seat so you can get your order delivered when ready. We chose the bar, always my personal favorite, to sit at after placing our orders. I went for the brunch special menu item of steak and eggs with loaded hash, and enjoyed my skim latte and mimosa beverages while waiting for my order to come up. The latte was exceptionally great actually. The steak and eggs were very good...steak came out perfectly as ordered, not too much spice or seasoning which allowed the real meat flavor to come through, I like that. Eggs were scrambled well, as ordered, and I enjoyed them. The loaded hash browns were OK, usually I'm not a fan of too much in my hash browns but they were not bad. Bull and Bean is a must go if you're in the Durham/Chapel Hill area. We went on a Wednesday at 10am so it was not as busy as we can imagine the weekend would be. The service was also exceptional. The two ladies that took our orders were so pleasant. It took about 10-15 minutes for our food to come out. I had forgotten my card at home and was hoping they had Apple Pay- long and behold- they DO have Apple Pay available! So convenient. The matcha iced tea and iced caramel mocha is a must. The food was fantastic! I ordered the egg, avocado and cauliflower rice- which was to die for. Two meals, and extra side order and two drinks totaled to about $41 with tip which wasn't bad at all. The location was nice but finding parking was pretty difficult, considering it wasn't that busy as it was a Wednesday. I can only imagine trying to find parking during the weekend. The mayo is as well. Deff recommend! Grits: disclaimer- I'm not from the south so I havent had my fair share of grits, but I thought these were delicious and my (Atlanta native) boyfriend agreed. Super creamy, good flavor, and thick! Hashbrowns: these were OK, but I also ate them without ketchup or sauce. Definitely good flavor and fried nicely. Breakfast sandwiches on sourdough w meat: my boyfriend had these (2) and liked them a lot as its a pretty straightforward meal. Again, they did not skimp on the fillings! Coffee: I'm sad to say this is my only food complaint. We got an iced coffee (20oz only size) and it was mostly whole milk rather than coffee. My boyfriend liked it, but I had to run to another local place to grab a new coffee. Overall - we ordered a 20oz coffee, hangover breakfast sandwich, side grits, side hash towns, 2 breakfast sandwiches w meat = $39. I woke up with a heavy craving for brunch so I hopped onto Yelp. By Yelp, I found Bull and Bean! Parking: It was a little difficult since it was extremely busy in the little plaza, but I managed. Ordering: You walk in, go to the counter, and order. Pretty simple. The cashier was nice and helpful. Food: I ordered the Waffle Benedict, a side of hashbrowns, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was so delicious. The hollandaise sauce was so good with the crispy bacon. I only like to eat bacon when it's in biscuits, but this bacon was delicious. The hashbrowns were slightly soggy. The fresh orange juice was delicious. My friend ordered the veggie omelette but was kind of disappointed. He said it was slightly underwhelming and when I tried it, I agreed. Price: My total came out to $18.54. Yeah, pricy, but I was very full after and I wanted to try a little bit of everything since it was my first time here. Atmosphere: I really like the atmosphere here. Everybody seemed so happy and cheery. Lots of light from the windows poured in and the overall layout is really nice. There is a lot of room (i.e. many tables and there's a bar area to sit). I'm docking off a star because of the utensils. I am going to start with the positives first. The space is gorgeous. They have large tables and enough space to hold big groups. Me and my husband paid a visit today and ordered from their Sunday brunch menu. We ordered a berry bowl, French toast, and vegan loaded hash browns. We also got a couple of drinks. The açaí bowl (berry bowl) and the brioche French toast tasted really good. It tasted the way it is supposed to and was loaded with fresh fruits. The drinks (matcha latte and chai latte) were pretty lukewarm and could have done with little more heat. The ordering process is pretty straight-forward. You order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. Coming to the negative, I found a piece of meat as well as scrambled egg in the "vegan" hash browns. I was completely put off by this. I left the restaurant without ever getting my soup. And I told him to keep the money I paid for the soup.
