"Great deli-style sandwiches, from rather hidden location on Chapel Hill Rd"…read more Came by here on a Saturday. This place is REALLY hard to find... it's behind the State Farm building, but there's barely any signage from the street. (Note: some photos here in Yelp seem to be from an older location.) We actually came one Saturday, but it was unexpectedly closed, but we caught them the following one, so good to call and confirm before driving over. You walk up to a door on the back, and scan a QR code to see the menu. Then knock on/ open the door and someone will come to take your order. Then you wait outside and they bring you your sandwiches. The lady who took our order was very friendly. The kitchen was rather large, so I suspect it's used for more than just this business. We ordered two turkey subs-- the East New York (which was slightly spicy) and the Dumbo. Wait time was maybe 7-10 minutes or so. Both sandwiches came nicely wrapped, and I think total cost was a little over $20. And conveniently, they take Apple Pay. These were not your Subway or Quiznos sandwiches-- these were DELICIOUS pressed sandwiches (we got them on focaccia. I personally liked the Dumbo the best-- it had a nice mix of flavors that meshed well. The East New York was solid and had a nice spiciness, but not quite as exciting overall. Would I come back? Probably, but since there's no seating, and it's a bit awkward, maybe not the first place I'd think to try, but again, the sandwiches were REALLY good. I do think it may be excellent for catering or for getting picnic sandwiches though.

I'm so glad we decided to take a chance. We also discovered that some of the information online about the ownership is inaccurate. My husband spoke with one of the owners, who explained that while one of the original owners has passed away, the restaurant continues to be owned and operated by the remaining three owners. I'm happy to say that the bread was just as delicious as we remembered, and the quality of the food was every bit as good as in the past. The only suggestion I would make is to expand the wine selection. There weren't many people dining while we were there, but I'm hoping that was simply because of the time we chose to eat. We've always enjoyed this restaurant, and this visit reminded us why. We'll definitely be back soon!

A single hearty piece of bread was also included. To round out the meal, I also ordered a side of broccoli sauteed with garlic. Overall, it was a very good lunch that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I will be keeping Pulcinella's on my radar in the future when I'm in the mood for Italian food.

Tasty pizza, but pretty $$$ for what you get…read more We came here for a late lunch. My husband got the lunch special, which was half a margherita pizza plus a salad for $10. If you add a topping, you pay the full upcharge, even though it's just half a pizza (though maybe they put a whole pizza's worth on half?). I got the calamari, thinking that for a $15 app, it could just be my lunch. Alas, the portion was quite small (see photo; several of the fried bits were fried pepper, not even squid), and it was just okay. Some pieces were pretty rubbery. I also tried a bit of my husband's pizza. The crust is lovely, and the sauce was very flavorful and complex. Service was friendly but a bit lacking. They forgot to bring out my husband's salad until after his pizza came out, and when we were done, I had to go find a waitperson to get our check. Also when I googled up the lunch special price to double-check, I learned it's also supposed to come with a drink, which I guess they forgot to tell us or offer us. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the spring weather. If a friend suggested meeting up here to grab a drink and share a pizza, I'd say sure! But I wouldn't waste my money on the calamari again.

Our server was very attentive and answered all questions. The inside was very quaint and their outdoor patio was spacious and had a wonderful ambiance. The food was delicious and we were so happy that they had a Lambrusco on the menu to have with our pizza. The only reason for 4/5 stars is due to the fact that the calamari dish seemed to be about 89% cherry peppers and 11% calamari. Otherwise we will definitely be back to try more items

After being met by one extremely friendly host, we were seated right away, and promptly visited by our sever Riley. I had a great feeling about her service abilities in that first interaction and she did not disappoint. We received the bread. That bread is, as I remembered, divine. As are those seasonings in that EVOO. I first dined on a Cesar salad which was as I had remembered....so good! I had also remembered how very tasty the steak Marsala was, as was the chicken Marsala, so I decided to refresh my tastebuds memory, and talk about tongue smacking brain, it was that good. The hubby got Chicken Parm. Both were extremely tasty. We also got to order a "take home" for just 10.00, so I ordered Lasagna and he ordered Polo Rosa Maria. I didn't taste it before posting but I'm sure it's heaven in a "to-go" container. The ambiance is what I remembered. Today was quieter but good music. Overall, it was such a great experience. The food was awesome, but the service, beyond reproach. Ask for Riley for your server! I promise you won't be disappointed.

We had proceeded to ask for a check and to-go boxes from multiple different sources, none of which assisted us. I have never, not once, experienced such poor service from your facility. Although I have worked in the food industry and understand that situations can get hectic and difficult to manage, the restaurant was not a full house, staff was able to provide care, and might I add the ambiance was very stressful. The customers next to us had been provided with a discount and cordial hospitality, witnessing this care while we were not provided with the same service was very discerning. Not being provided with an explanation or apology once, had made me not want to attend your place of residency again. I hope the needed action is taken. P.S. The bread was mid.

We attended the Summer Vegetarian class. Kate gave a brief intro to what each station entailed, and you could pick one that you wanted to work on. Kate and her assistant would walk around and help as needed, and call everyone over at certain parts to show how things were being prepared or cooked. Most of the food she was as using she had bought at the farmers market. We had some appetizers while finishing up the cooking, and at the end we all sat together in the dining room for a full meal. All of the food was delicious! Kate sends the recipes out via email after the class. I will definitely be trying some of them out at home, and looking to take a class in the future. Don't expect to master any of the recipes during this class, but you will gain some tips and come away with a full belly and some new recipes. You can bring your own beer and wine, and she also provided water and lemonade for us. Our class ran about 30 minutes over, so depending on how many dishes she has planned be prepared for class to go a little longer.

Classes are out of her home in a residential area, so follow the directions she sends you. She had done most of the prep work, showed us each recipe, and then let all of the participants wash their hands and get to work. Everyone wore a mask, and outdoor seating was available for anyone not comfortable dining indoors just. We got to rotate through various stations and Katie did some of the more intensive cooking, like the deep frying. She was very helpful with tips and checking to see how everyone was doing. After everything was cooked, we sat down to eat. Boy, there was a lot, and everything was delicious! We made gnocchi, pierogies, momos, potstickers, samosas, and apple dumplings. Water was provided and you can BYOB if you like. It did take a little bit longer than scheduled but not too much so. She followed up a few days later by emailing the recipes to us. A great experience for foodies!
