The have a lovely shaded patio, too, if you really are looking to dine outside. The menu is also a sight to behold and there is something for every taste and diet (GF, Vegan/veg all noted on the menu). There's so many enticing vegan options! I ordered the hummus which was very good and a phenomenal fattoush salad made next level with those pickled grapes-- unlike any fattoush salad I'd ever had before. I appreciated the wine and cocktail lists, although I was not ready to imbibe at that time of day. Some great offerings there. And I also want to give kudos to our excellent waitress and the entire staff that thanked us and said goodbye when we left. It was just the perfect touch of hospitality.

Staff came to us immediately for our drink and appetizer order then allowed us the requested time to view the menu. The ambiance and feel of the place is incredible! We ordered the Greek mimosa and the spartan Bloody Mary along with the avgolemeno soup to start. Then the Pasticho and mousaka .Being Greek we are very particular about our Greek food. The Greek mimosa was excellent, the flavors aren't anything like a regular mimosa it is a whole new experience, if you like a red or rose wine try it! The bloody mark has a bit of a bite but it too has a great flavor I would not order if you don't like spicy or can't have salt. The avgolemano was delicious just the right amount of lemon too simple and elegant just lemon egg chicken rice and broth with light seasoning. The Pasticho was excellent! They even bought the right noodles ! About as close to my yaiyas as a restaurant can get! The mousaka was also delicious. Many times you get it the eggplant is either greasy or hard. This was perfect and not highly seasoned. I recommend giving this restaurant try parking is definitely a lot easier than Tara and the food is excellent and the ambience is fabulous!

Kipo's has been a staple of Chapel Hill forever, even at its previous location downtown. The…read moreatmosphere tends to be the draw-- it's decorated well, there are some fun foods (flaming cheese?!), and there tends to be a Greek dance train on weekend evenings. I went with a group of 6 adults this past week and realized that the atmosphere no longer outweighs the other nits for us. The restaurant was maybe 80% full, but our servers couldn't find the time to check on us. We had a bottle of wine served, and maybe 15 minutes later needed more wine. We finally got our server's attention and we got more wine. Once our entrees came out, our server and wine guy never came back to our table. We even told them we would like more wine but they never came back with it. We would've bought 4-5 bottles of wine that evening had someone come back to check on us. Instead, we just sipped our waters until we were ready to leave. The food was honestly mediocre all around. The lamb was overcooked and inedible, the eggplant dish was over salted, etc. We liked our dips platter, but it came with a tiny bowl of pita and like three pieces of celery for $24, so most of the dips went uneaten. If someone had asked if we needed more pita or vegetables we would have said yes, even if we had to pay for it. But nobody did. I could go into more details (mansplaining and some belittling all around), but it's not really important. We realized there are restaurants in Chapel Hill that we'd rather visit in the future. I hope Kipo's is able to make some changes because we really love it. But in the meantime we're going to give it a break.

Ambiance: When we arrived, it was rather full but we were immediately seated. Our table was sitting right near the door. Food: I ordered the falafel wrap with a side salad, bistro burger with a side of fries, and calamari. The food tasted great. Service: The service was not as impressive. I believe that good customer service should make you feel welcomed. We had to flag our waiter for a few things such as straws and refill on waters. Either way, we had a good experience.

I got ONE glass of ice tea and no offer of a refill. We had a small menu to order from. The Caesar salad was divine !! Well dressed and shaved parmigiana. I had the spaghetti with shrimp and feta. Shrimp was well cooked but the feta did not taste like feta. It had NO taste at all. Not sure what would cause this. It had a red sauce that was OK. Hubby had a sirloin steak that was drowning with gravy and mushrooms. Did not look appetizing at all. For dessert we had chocolate cake, served with a dollop of whip cream and a strawberry. The outside seating looked lovely. We may be back to try that out.

Let me begin by saying, the appetizers here are amazing--well, at least, all of the vegan ones…read more(most of which I've gotten). There's a green hummus??? Wow. Perhaps my favorite out of everything we got all night. However, although they do have a nice variety of vegan appetizers, they only have one vegan entree, the Golden Quinoa. It isn't bad, but it pales in comparison to the appetizers we've had. Additionally, over the past two years (during which we've come to parizade about 3 times, because we had a massive giftcard to use up), the quality of the entree has gone down somewhat. When we went last night, I was disappointed to feel that it was altogether underseasoned. It's also disappointing to see that they have not attempted to introduce or switch our their vegan entree in 2 years. The service also varies. Last night, our server was fantastic, and obviously very experienced, but on past visits we have gotten less experienced servers who have made our dining experience more uncomfortable rather than less so. Perhaps most frustrating is that only one out of three of the servers appeared to understand what it meant that we were vegan. Both of the others, after being told that we were vegan, recommended dishes which were not vegan (which we had to awkwardly tell them), or suggested we add protein to the quinoa dish (which, again, I don't think they have a vegan tofu to add--or if they did, he didn't tell us). I'm willing to have some grace on a server that is learning, but I think it's frankly unacceptable for a fine dining establishment to have wait staff who don't know how to accommodate vegan customers (especially when they literally have their vegan options labeled on the menu!). Generally speaking, a hefty giftcard to a fine dining restaurant should feel like a gift, not a burden. Because of the limited vegan options, however, using up our giftcard felt like something of a chore (and we ended up resorting friends with us the last time so that we could blow most of it on a few bottles of wine). If you aren't vegan, I'm sure you would enjoy this place. If you are, I think that there are much better fine dining experiences in the area. Even so, I'm rating this 4 stars because the appetizers, the wine, and the cocktails were all truly 5 stars.

There are a lot of great little shops in this plaza that deserve recognition--I never would have found them without a Yelp search. I walked in to get a quick takeout order because I had to be back for a meeting in 30 minutes. I almost left because there were about eight people ahead of me waiting to order. I also just started a keto diet, so I was hoping they had something I could actually eat. The menu looked incredible. If I weren't on this diet, I totally would have gotten the gyro and fries that I saw delivered to a nearby table; I was literally drooling. I settled for a Caesar salad to go. I forgot to ask for no croutons, but that is on me! It came with fresh pita and tzatziki, which looked and felt awesome. I tasted the tzatziki before giving them both away, and it was delicious--probably the best tzatziki I have tasted in a long time. For my salad protein, I chose the chicken skewers (you get two). The salad was dressed, and I had to sprint to my meeting. I opened it and took a bite at the office, and let's just say I kept my camera off and my microphone on mute for most of the call! The chicken had such good flavor, and the salad had a generous amount of shaved parmesan with a nice dressing. They also did what I always do with a Caesar: added lemon. There were two big wedges of lemon in the container, which provided that perfect extra hit of acid I always look for. While I didn't get to interact with everyone, the woman running the front of the house (and probably the back, too) was incredibly nice. I wish I experienced that kind of service everywhere I went; the world would be a much friendior place. I think I'll be a regular here.

This place is freakin' delicious. So, we had a great meal from the food truck once. And Gussy's catered a wine pairing dinner at Peak of the Vine in Apex which was spectacular. We decided then we had to visit the brick and mortar location, but one thing after another delayed us until today. We went with our (adult) kids and everyone loved every bite. I had a new pork gyro and their amazing lemon rice (do not sleep on the lemon rice, it is a stealth amazing side), my wife had the fried shrimp platter and the shrimp was great. Somehow more shrimpy than most fried shrimp. I don't know what that means, but there you go. My daughter got the chicken gyro with fries and declared the fries her new favorite fries. The veggies were so crisp and fresh in the gyro that even though she finished all the chicken, she brought the last few bites of pita and veggies home because she didn't want to waste them. My son is a limited-taste eater, but was relieved to see some Italian classics on the menu. He went with his favorite sandwich, a chicken parmesan hero. He didn't have super high hopes for an amazing experience, because outside of a pizzeria chicken parm is usually just good, never great. But he was shocked, "This is better than most pizzerias. I'd have to get one here and one at Mezza Luna and have them side by side to judge them, it's that good." So yeah, Gussy's. Don't wait around like we did. If you find yourself close to RTP, plan lunch at Gusssy's. Or make the trip special during the week. You won't regret it.
