A great lunch spot with plenty of healthy options. My wife and I both enjoyed a "build a bowl" with the chicken shawarma and lamb/beef shawarma. Both entrees were fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the Toum, which was extra garlicky. The Baba Ghanouj and Tabouli also hit the spot. We also shared the spinach feta Man'ousheh, which would be a suitable entree, itself. Very disappointing experience. The meat had a bad smell, the bread was soaking wet, and the meat wasn't cut properly. I paid a lot of money for the sandwich, but it was definitely not worth it. It was great to experience another Neomonde eatery - we unexpectedly found ourselves in downtown Durham, and there was a Neomonde Mediterranean! Of course we had to have lunch there, having so enjoyed the food @ Neomonde Raleigh. This location feels like it is in the hub of downtown - many streets come together in this spoke-like cluster with a small park in the center. All of Neomonde Durham's windows offer great views while eat-in diners enjoy the amazing food, and it was clear that it is a regular for workers in the area to come grab a meal to go - many pickups occurred whilst we were there. The menu is the exact same as the Raleigh one, so no menu pics, just pics of the trendy setting - and my delicious Beef and Lamb Shawarma - YUM‼ The ladies behind the food counter were super nice, the food was as delicious as it was @ the Raleigh location, same selection of erudite beers and healthy drinks available. However, the level of connectedness with the customers was different - perhaps due to the business and office buildings that surround it - customers are more likely than not on a tight schedule. There wasn't a Service Champion like Alex to add that extra dimension of welcome - the cashier (maybe manager on duty) was perfunctory. The grilled chicken bowl with Mediterranean rice was really good, especially because they cooked fresh chicken for it. The grilled chicken in wrap was not freshly cooked and it was not great. The kale salad was really good paired with the grilled chicken. We wanted to go back and try this spot again, but the my were closed on New Year's Day. That should tell you how good the freshly grilled chicken was! Only problem is they didn't send any eating utensils with our to go food, and it's not great finger food. read more

I ordered the Beef & Lamb Shawarma (plus tzatziki) x 2 for pick on Postmates to use their BOGO free deal. I was driving home from an event in downtown Durham and it was difficult to find somewhere to park near the restaurant, but I got lucky. My order was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. However, on the walk back to my car, I noticed my hand getting wet from the paper bag. Once I got home, I opened up the bag and could tell the food had saturated through the wrappers and the wrappers didn't completely cover each item either. I thought there was a good amount of meat and tons of tzatziki which I loved. Mediterranean food is not my go-to, but I thought the flavors were nice. This location is not ideal for take out, there is no dedicated "take out" parking spot. This was my first time visiting Neomonde, and it definitely won't be my last. The food was absolutely amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything tasted incredible. What truly made the experience stand out was Eugene, the general manager. He was outstanding. So welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. A rare review for me, the diet pepsi was fine (fountain) but they literally put 8 cubes in the glass so it was less of an ice experience than I like. But overall a great place. It's 12 noon on a Wednesday so I was under the assumption that all the food would be HOT.... Lamb kabob was lukewarm and I could tell it wasn't fresh, the Kale salad was saturated and the Munjarah was cold. I don't know if it's the young people working or what but there definitely needs to be some oversight... Service was ok and it was clean but cold inside . I'll definitely visit the other locations again but probably wouldn't return here. read more

Meanwhile, the orders for other later-arriving guests were being delivered, and still we waited. Finally the fourth was delivered. I ordered steak pita pocket, but chicken was delivered. The others in our party liked theirs well enough, but although I was looking forward to what I was assured was traditional lebanese style food, it seemed like a fast food version, and I was disappointed, esp with the prices for the product delivered. I can't remember the name of it right off hand, and I also had a fruit salad that was assorted and everything tasted delicious. It was fresh and very healthy. The shawarma was bland and uninspired, lacking in sauce and containing finely diced tomatoes. The beef and lamb were impossible to discern from one another. Honestly, it wasn't good. The pasta was dry and relatively flavorless unless I added copious amounts of salt. I did enjoy the hummus, but received whole wheat pita, when I order white pita. Food was delivered and I got it in a reasonable time so I have no complaints there. The food was terrible however. The taste, texture and odor was nasty. Very ineffective ordering flow and non-transparent experience. We ordered a to-go order of cold sides at the walk up line and it still took 25mn to come out. Had expected it to be packed immediately but then they just put in a ticket and didn't work on it - maybe there was a backlog, but they should have let us know if so - the lack of communication and ignoring customers was all really strange. Initially chose to go here as we thought it would be quick but we were literally were ignored by the staff for 10mn initially while waiting in line then it took 20mn of waiting after we ordered and then having to ask them to get our order for them to make it. A colleague and I went to Neomonde for lunch on a Monday. There was a long line but it moved relatively quickly. I'm vegan and gluten free and was told that the pita pocket wrap with falafel would be gluten free and vegan. I selected two sides that were also labeled GF and vegan and was looking forward to enjoying a meal from a new spot. After waiting for well over 20+ minutes for our food, we started to wonder what the holdup was considering the food is stored buffet style and should only take a minute or two to plate. After inquiring, I was told my order was missing but noticed the gentleman that assisted me brought over a plate that looked like mine. When I got back to the table, I noticed a white dressing/sauce on my pita. I don't think it was vegan but tried to trust that they made my order correctly. That was a mistake, because I'm now back at work with excruciating abdominal pain and feeling very sick. Clearly, they did not take care to prepare my order to ensure that it was safe. Additionally, the GF "pita" was a tortilla. What a huge disappointment. If that wasn't bad enough, as I was trying to finish my meal, a small cockroach walked out from under my plate. Needless to say, I was more than finished with this horrible and offensive meal. I won't be back and do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I am only putting two stars because of the service we received today. My family and I went to this restaurant on 5/1 and it was the best food we had!!! Everything came out fresh and the service was amazing, we even got a complimentary order of extra fries!! So we decided to go back today 5/3. The service was horrendous!!! None of the people at my table got what they ordered and we had to remind the staff MULTIPLE times that we didn't get our food. We ordered fries again and had to ask THREE times for our fries. In the end, we ended up walking out without our fries because we shouldn't have to remind staff about the food we ordered more than three times. There were also other customers going to the register to ask where their food was or that they got the wrong order. The area near the fountain drinks was not taken care of or stocked. I just wish the service this time was as good as the service on 5/1!! read more

So we chose this restaurant to cater our Christmas party. They forgot to give our pick up person the pita to go with the chicken, beef, and lamb shawarma. We had to delay our party for 45 mins because of that. You would think that after spending 370.00 with an establishment that they would have everything organized. The food wasn't spectacular. I have walked by here so many times and didn't stop in until recently. What a surprise! The prices are reasonable, the salads and sides all look great. I wasn't too hungry, but had to have something light, so I had a falafel pita. The guy at the counter was incredibly helpful and offered to add a side into the pita if I wanted, so I added the chickpeas. Like all the other food options in Durham, my pita did not disappoint! It was a generous size for less than $6, with some nice touches like cilantro and pickled cabbage. I wish I had known about this place sooner, I would have stopped in more often. If I lived here, I would come here for lunch regularly. The ordering is a little confusing, at least if you're going to get it to go. read more

The filling is mostly eggplant and cheese - which I love. It's a LOT of eggplant!) Tabouleh and hummus were as expected, having eaten at the original location in Raleigh frequently. I loved the jalapeño cilantro hummus - was not expecting it to be that good! Food from the kitchen came out well-wrapped and carefully prepared. Food runners and folks behind the counter were all friendly and helpful. What can I say about Neomonde other than the worst customer service I've ever had. We came at 6:45, and waited 30 min for food. This is a fast casual restaurant, not a sit down and order place. Once the food arrived, I got a lukewarm falafel sandwich. My partner ordered a side of ratatouille, but instead of telling her they were out, they replaced it with green beans without asking her. I attempted to speak with the manager about our long wait and incorrect order. She said they were busy due to the "dinner rush." We had 4 people in front of us in line. I attached a picture of the dining room when we got our food. Sure seems like a dinner rush. I asked for a refund, and instead of comping the meal for poor service, she started taking the food back. When I asked why, she said it's either a refund or the food. After waiting for 30 min, I wasn't going to wait any longer, but in hindsight I should have taken the refund. To top it off, the manager cussed me out as we were walking out. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. Skip Neomonde Durham. I also want to say that with this review, it may seem like I'm a Karen. I walked up after her, and the staff proceeded to take the order of the next guest behind me. It was slightly irritating. The girl working said, I thought he helped you already? Unfortunately I think communication is lacking between employees. When they finally did take my order, the person checking me out couldn't find it anywhere to ring me up. He had to go back and run over to kitchen side to check. I waited for a good 20 minutes for my food while my friend already had hers.
