I am VERY late to Sassool but very happy I discovered it anyways. The combinations here are endless and the prices are extremely good for the amount of food you get. Everything is healthy, fresh, and delicious and I'm sure anybody would enjoy at least one item from here. The restaurant is big with a lot of seating and the food comes out quick. There's so many combinations of sides, meats, and pitas/shawarmas. There is also a mini shop where you can buy international foods, snacks, and drinks. The plates here are always super filling and satisfying. I usually get a sides plate and a kabab dish which comes with 2 more sides plus rice and a garlic dip. Some of my favorite dishes/sides so far have been the beef/chicken kebab, vegetable lasagna, fava bean salad, black bean salad, chicken salad, mjadarah, and batatta harra (potatoes in whipped garlic). We've come here quite a few times and I think their food has been consistent if not better! It's deli style ordering, where you stand in line look at the options visually (sides, some pre cooked entrees desserts and beverages) order pay at the end of the line where they give you a number and then seat yourself there is indoor seating as well as some outdoor patio seating as well. After which the food is delivered to you shortly ! There's also a market on the side with a refrigerated section and couple aisles of items. I feel super overwhelmed with the number of options, but through multiple visits we've been able to try different options. One thing I really like is the crispy, hot and light pita bread that's served with the orders! I live within walking distance of Sasool and visit an embarrassing number of times each week. All the food is always fresh and delicious. The employees are very attentive and efficient. On Fridays and Saturdays they have a salmon entree that I get for my Mom every week. The salmon comes with curried rice but I get the Lebanese rice instead. The Lebanese green beans are in a stewed tomato sauce and nice and tangy. They have spanikopita on Fridays and sometimes Saturdays. I usually get 3 or 4 pieces to go and heat it up in aluminum foil in the air fryer throughout the week. You can also get spanikopita as an entree with two sides on Fridays. Some other favorites are Autumn Root Salad with beets, carrots and walnuts and Fatoush when it's really fresh and crisp. Their pitas are delicious and they're very generous with them. You can see them baking the pitas in back of where the cashiers are. Also, look for the TV playing videos showing how the pitas are made. It's to the left of where the line forms. Pro Tip: Get there before 6:30 PM if you don't want to wait in a long line. The line goes fast but it can get really warm from the ovens when you're standing close to the cash registers waiting to check out. read more

I took my family an hour and a half from Greensboro to the Cary, NC location and oh my goodness it was worth it! Even driving through scary thunderstorms. Sassool is Lebanese Mediterranean. I've only had green Mediterranean prior to now and Lebanese is next level! The cilantro hummus is everything!!!! And it came with four fresh pitas! The grape leaves were so good and the chicken kabob was so good. I got the walnut baklava which was good. The prices are so reasonable! Also there is a Lebanese market with all sorts of amazing options. Two of us came here for an early dinner , 5:15, and I sure am glad we came early. Even during the week, this place is packed for dinner. We were greeted and our orders taken quickly. The tables were clean and we had no problem finding a place to sit. I tried two new salads, and I loved both. The carrot and beet salad and the super salad. I will get both of them again. Good: tried the combo plate including various salad, Salmon, various meat kebab plate and cheese pizzette. I have to say, the pizzette was the best, thin crust - gooey cheese and thought it was very nice. While other plates were mediocre - I thought the kabob were too heavy with cumin. Some salads were too heavy on citrus. Had tried various Mediterranean places in the triangle, I'd have to say.. no place can top Mediterranean Deli in chapel hill. Opportunities for improvement: 1) most of the food is too salty and sometimes so hot-spicy for me, it is inedible; 2) the same dish ordered on different days by my taste varies greatly in saltiness and spiciness; 3) sometimes the pita bread is burned, yet bagged up for the customer anyway; and 4) servers who are dishing up ordered food do not always wear gloves, which I think is gross. I have been frequenting the Sassool off Lead Mine Road for years and years but this was my first time at the Cary location. They had all the same favorites. Sassool is the only restaurant that I could eat at every day and not grow tired of. My go to is the pick four platter and there are so many choices and variations! On this particular day I selected tuna salad, quinoa tabbouleh, beet salad and kale salad. All were absolutely phenomenal. The tuna salad is so flavorful and packed with tuna. The shawarma, chicken kabob are a hit with the family and for me- falafel with 3 sides are the win. Salads galore and the hummus is probably the best in town. Pita is complimentary at check out. They participate in Go Play Save so you could get a BOGO. They used to do a half price wine Wednesday and I'm not sure they do it now. Sassool is a burst of flavor and distinctly different from the variety of flavors we have in the city. It's a great place to hand out with friends or a night out with family, hanging out at the patio or to just stop by and shop the unique food store they have. Unfortunately, I'm becoming more disappointed with its unfriendly staff, and smaller portions despite higher prices. Most of the Food items are delicious though. When I went in for a "pick 4" and questioned the small amount of chicken salad I was given, the young man basically offered nothing more than a curt 'it's just the way the portions are'. Very disappointed with the way that was handled. I usually get meals from Sassool 3-4x/month. I'll be looking for other Mediterranean options in the Raleigh area to support. read more

I guess it's starting to be a trend where once great restaurants of the area are falling one by one. Lats year I went here specifically for the baklava as it was amazing! Large pieces drenched in honey, just wonderful, so much so I would go once a week and buy $20 of it just for weekly snacks. I tried a couple of times over the past few months, and they were out every time. Today I went to check again and they had some full trays! However, I found the pieces had been reduced in size by half, and they were extremely dry from lack of honey and I mean dry as Fu&!. Look at the pics and not even sweet, they were so lacking of it.
