Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars, if half stars were available. After walking up to the counter and seeing the 92 health score, I had some hesitation. I decided to give it a go since this community rated it 4+ stars. I had the chicken pita combo and my husband had the gyro. The pita bread and fries were really good, but the flavor of the chicken was not for me. My husband enjoyed the gyro, and thought it was def better than the chicken.

Very casual take out Mediterranean place with plenty of seating available. Food is pretty delicious. The owner is very accommodating - allowed me to substitute baba ghanouj instead of cucumber sauce.

You know this place offers great food when you're greeted by delicious smelling smoke (kabob!) from the kitchen that permeates the entire large dining area. Ordered 2 of the same: 2 kabob Mediterranean (Greek salad, tsatziki sauce, hummus, grape leaves) , platter, there are a variety of platters that cone with the 3 protein choices: lamb/beef, chicken or gyro. There are many platter choices that give you salad or rice or grilled veggies or fries or grape leaves and hummus! Service was friendly and professional! And oh don't forget pistachio baklava!

A hidden gem! Came here for a quick, affordable bite. Got the Lebanese platter which included falafel, baba ghanoush (roasted eggplant dip), hummus, tabbouleh (salad with tomatoes, mint, onion, etc), pita, and chicken kebab (opted to get double meat since it was only like $2 more). Overall, everything was tasty: falafel was crispy on the outside & soft on the inside; chicken was charred nicely but a little too salty for me; tabbouleh was refreshing; pita was soft & I really liked that it was grilled; hummus & baba ghanoush were yum. Ambiance is okay (just a little dingy feeling but there were some delicious aromas coming from the kitchen to counterbalance haha), so we opted to sit outside (there are like 2 or 3 small tables outside). Service is fast. Lots of parking available. 8/10 would recommend!

It's the perfect place to drop by and grab a quick bite to eat. Came into Sultan's to grab some lunch to take back home. They have a wide variety of items on their menu. When I went to order, they were also very accommodating with some item adjustments and were able to accommodate to my specific changes. Got my food very quickly and was very surprised with how full I felt after eating. Will definitely be coming back for lunch soon.

Original Gyro Sandwich with Greek Fries. AMAZING!

Great food. So tasty. I've been here a few times and I highly recommend it. I wish the gyro meat tasted more authentic but still good food.

Staff came to us immediately for our drink and appetizer order then allowed us the requested time to view the menu. The ambiance and feel of the place is incredible! We ordered the Greek mimosa and the spartan Bloody Mary along with the avgolemeno soup to start. Then the Pasticho and mousaka .Being Greek we are very particular about our Greek food. The Greek mimosa was excellent, the flavors aren't anything like a regular mimosa it is a whole new experience, if you like a red or rose wine try it! The bloody mark has a bit of a bite but it too has a great flavor I would not order if you don't like spicy or can't have salt. The avgolemano was delicious just the right amount of lemon too simple and elegant just lemon egg chicken rice and broth with light seasoning. The Pasticho was excellent! They even bought the right noodles ! About as close to my yaiyas as a restaurant can get! The mousaka was also delicious. Many times you get it the eggplant is either greasy or hard. This was perfect and not highly seasoned. I recommend giving this restaurant try parking is definitely a lot easier than Tara and the food is excellent and the ambience is fabulous!

The…read moreatmosphere tends to be the draw-- it's decorated well, there are some fun foods (flaming cheese?!), and there tends to be a Greek dance train on weekend evenings. I went with a group of 6 adults this past week and realized that the atmosphere no longer outweighs the other nits for us. The restaurant was maybe 80% full, but our servers couldn't find the time to check on us. We had a bottle of wine served, and maybe 15 minutes later needed more wine. We finally got our server's attention and we got more wine. Once our entrees came out, our server and wine guy never came back to our table. We even told them we would like more wine but they never came back with it. We would've bought 4-5 bottles of wine that evening had someone come back to check on us. Instead, we just sipped our waters until we were ready to leave. The food was honestly mediocre all around. The lamb was overcooked and inedible, the eggplant dish was over salted, etc. We liked our dips platter, but it came with a tiny bowl of pita and like three pieces of celery for $24, so most of the dips went uneaten. If someone had asked if we needed more pita or vegetables we would have said yes, even if we had to pay for it. But nobody did. I could go into more details (mansplaining and some belittling all around), but it's not really important. We realized there are restaurants in Chapel Hill that we'd rather visit in the future. I hope Kipo's is able to make some changes because we really love it. But in the meantime we're going to give it a break.

She had great recommendations and was attentive and kind throughout the meal. We started with the Greek Spreads Trio, which comes with tzatziki, sun-dried tomato hummus, and spicy feta. All three were delicious, and I'd recommend getting this to try a little bit of everything. I had a Dirty Martini and my sister had the Berry Ginger Press Mocktail, both of which were great. The Lamb Burger was savory and delicious, and pairing it with the leftover dips from our appetizer made it even tastier. My side Greek Village Salad was fresh and paired nicely with the burger. I can't wait to come back with friends for dinner!

Walking in you'll feel like you've been transported to a village like, Greek atmosphere. To sit down you'll check in with the host and then be seated either inside or on the rooftop. We opted for the rooftop as it was a nice evening. To start I ordered the Baklava Old Fashioned (Bulleit bourbon, homemade baklava syrup, Angostura bitters, and Amarena cherries) which was amazing. Next we ordered the trio of all three spreads (Tzatziki, sun-dried tomato hummus, and spicy feta spread) and the calamari. Both dishes were excellent and I definitely prefer the spicy feta and tzatziki sauce. For my main course I ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop (Chargrilled tomahawk chop, spinach, barrel-aged feta, herb aioli, Greek lemon potatoes) which was a bit disappointing. I probably should have sent the pork chop back as it was cooked well done and was very dry but was I was too hungry and didn't want to make my parents wait. For dessert I ordered Baklava Cheesecake (New York-style cheesecake with nuts and baklava filling) which was very nice and my mom ordered the Limoncello cake (lemon cake with lemon cream frosting) which was definitely the star of the show. If I'm back downtown I may try Taverna Agora again but will definitely avoid ordering the pork chop.
