Was craving something fresh yet yummy after a full day of doctor's visits on 6/10/2025. I ordered the calabash shrimp while my sister ordered chicken and we both enjoyed all of our food. Service was quick- I noticed that they no longer serve their fresh juices. This wasn't a deal breaker for me as I ordered water. Just may be something to document if you were a fan! I've loved the Showmars Pita Burger since I was in college in Charlotte many moons ago! Today, on a beautiful Saturday, I decided to wash my car and run some other weekend errands. This was perfect for a meal at the Briar Creek Showmars just off US-70 near RDU. Frankie's is close by if you want to play miniature (put-put) golf or arcade games. The restaurant is an order at the counter and they'll bring your food to your table. They use numbered table tents to find you. Always greeted with a big smile by a charming, polite, patient, friendly and knowledgeable person at the counter. This visit, I hardly sat down, and my hot meal arrived. I had the Original Pita burger that is basically a gyro with beef burger, instead of gyro, meat. The combo meal comes with fries. I had a 1/2 sweet to unsweetened iced tea to drink. Tried their "Famous Fish Sandwich" it was pretty good. It's hard to be fair to Showmars for any fried fish meal after just returning from the UK where they basically make fried fish an art form, but it was a solid entry in the fried fish sweepstakes for a restaurant on this side of the Pond. Order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Drinks are served when you order, but refills are available on request. The service was fast and friendly, I had a staff member stop by several times to ask if I needed anything and he took my dishes away when I finished. I've wanted to try Showmars ever since it opened and this is the first chance I had! The way it's set up you order at the counter and then a staff member brings your food to you. They were all very nice and the food came up faster than I thought it would. We were going to hit a movie after and wanted to have room for popcorn so we had their mini meals, which was more than enough! My spouse had the shrimp, which she enjoyed and I had the fish filet, which was quite good. Unfortunately we didn't get any photos, but it looked as good as it tasted. The hospitality of the staff was superb and we always had someone checking in on us. The place was clean and very spacious. Looked like it could easily accommodate a larger crowd. Their fish is to die for! Fresh, crisp, and hot. The tartar sauce is more mustardy (which is how i prefer it), complimenting the fish very well. The salmon was crisp on the edges and cooked perfectly. It fit so well with the Mediterranean salad. The pita bread was even served warm with our meals!! I love how all the sauces are ready to go and served on the side - perfect if you prefer to dip or drizzle over your meal. 10/10 would recommend this place to a friend!! I was just looking for a good burger and the reviews said they had one, but I must have been in the wrong location. When I want a burger, I want a good burger. So I ordered the burger and fries and an Oreo milkshake. Also the fried fish, coleslaw and mixed veggies for mom. The food must have already been prepared. While it was hot, it didn't taste fresh. The burger actually looked old (cheese dried and lettuce wilted). It tasted bland. The fries tasted like they were fried in the fish grease. Not good. When a place messes up fries, you know the rest is downhill . The shake wasn't even good. I didn't finish it. The fish 's smell was VERY strong. My mom said it was ok, but not that good. When she threw some of it in the trash, the smell lingered until I took the trash out. I was hoping for a good experience based on the reviews and the reasonable prices, but this will be a no go for me. I'm tired of spending my hard earned money on bad food. Upon deliberation, we ordered (two) fish sandwiches, a Greek salad, fries, and water. We were pleasantly surprised with our meal. While not cornmeal dredged, it was tasty. Perhaps a brioche bun (?) contained 3-4 decent sized white fish. As noted by other Yelp reviews, the tartar sauce was light and well balanced. The Greek salad was fresh and had a tasty dressing. I had always passed this place and never knew what the menu was like. Southern- Greek ? Two of my favorite cuisines fused ? I decided on the famous fried flounder sandwich. I made it a combo by adding a greek salad. The service here was excellent and the flounder sandwich really blew me away. Stopped by for a quick lunch on our way through . We have visited other locations in the past. I was instantly greeted when I walked in the door. The place was clean. Outside area was also very nice. HORRIBLE! I ordered this Greek salad from Showmars through Doordash. I love ordering from them because they go to great lengths to ensure the packaging is secure but what about the contents of the container inside?!
