Can't go wrong here. The salads are amazing and the portion sizes are huge. The place is very clean and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You always feel good after eating here. The only downside is the staff can be pretty rude and they rush you nonstop, but honestly the food is so good it's hard to complain too much.

Delicious bowls at a great price! I got the rancher which was filling and delicious. Love having healthier options around the triangle. Would definitely go back.

In the area for a work trip. Beat the lunch rush by a little bit so we had quick service, but the line was quite long (but moving fast) shortly after. The descriptor "warm salad" may not sound the best, but that's kind of what it is and it is delicious. Love that you can have a great tasting, yet healthy lunch. Staff was very patient and moved quickly once you were ready. They have their service figured out well to feed all the corporate folks that swing in for lunch. Will add to my rotation when in the area.

This is a salad concept like Sweetgreens but with a slightly more abbreviated offering. I love salads and thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Please come and create your own adventure.

Just what you want in a fast casual salad spot. I chose the Caesar bowl, and finished it all. Great soft bread is optional, I chose heavy dressing. Selection of tea, sodas, and juice drinks. I'd come back if ever in the area!

With having such great reviews, I've been wanting to try Farmside Kitchen for a while now and finally did. This place reminds me a lot of similar restaurants like Sweetgreen and Cava. I ordered the Farmside bowl and unfortunately will say that I was a little disappointed in my meal. While the bowl was definitely healthy, it didn't have a whole lot of flavor and the dressings didn't add much to it. The meal kind of left a dry taste in my mouth. I really wanted to like this place more, and maybe I just didn't order the right thing. I'd be open to giving it another try, but this first visit didn't quite live up to the hype.

Root veggie bowl with no dressing. Tasty and filling. I didn't end up eating the bread.

Had an enjoyable lunch here on the way to the airport. I got the root veggie bowl without dressing. It was very good. Also quite filling. It had more rice than I expected. I also got a nice kombucha with limited sugar that was organic I enjoyed.

Love Farmside Kitchen!! Great place to get your fresh salad bowls. There truly something for everyone. My favorite is the rancher which comes with kale, brown rice, beans, cheese, avocado, crushed tortillas, and cilantro dressing. It comes with chicken as the protein but I always get the cilantro lime tofu. The salad is topped with a fresh lime and a slice of bread. It's so delicious and flavorful!! They have another dressing that is spicy but the cilantro dressing works for me as I'm not spice tolerant. The service is always quick and efficient. There's plenty of indoor and outside seating to accommodate all groups. And parking is easy and accessible. Love it!!

My bowl looked OK, but the flavors were decisively not there.

With so many great Yelp reviews, we were expecting a better meal when choosing Farmside Kitchen to satiate our hunger after traveling into RDU and starting our short drive back to the Triad. We wanted something fresh and tasty with plenty of greenery to help offset some of the delicious things we ate in Nashville, that admittedly, might have been not as healthy. This place is a lot like a CAVA or Chopt, except, the amount of available toppings is not as robust, and in our experience... simply not as flavorful. We each built our own bowl, and were surprised at the lack of meat choices. You have an option for chicken breast or... chicken thighs. Everything else was tofu or a warm vegetable. The chicken also looked very plain, and upon tasting it, it was very dry, and definitely lacked in the flavor department. It left that chalky chicken taste in my mouth which takes lots of liquid to dispel. Moving onto toppings, we were not confronted with lots of interesting flavors like you might see at some of those places I named earlier. Instead it was standard salad bar fare with a few exceptions. The dressings were interesting, my cilantro based one was tasty, but the Greek vinaigrette my wife chose didn't have much in the way of flavor. She went back up for a side cup of balsamic, which was much better. This was around 8pm that we came in, and mind you, they are open until 10pm as noted on the door. The employees were much more focused on their closing duties than anything food related. One of them kept mopping the floor the entire time even though more customers were coming in and having to track through it. In the end, it just wasn't a satisfying meal, but was enough to get us home. Maybe this place is simply more on it's game during lunch or earlier dinner hours, but, I don't see myself stopping in again.

I had been hearing good things about Farmside for a while & finally got the opportunity to check it out. We came in the evening during the week & there were a decent of amount of people dining in & getting take out. It was not packed though. There is plenty of parking near the entrance. The restaurant is spacious & you can dine inside or outside. There are healthy fruit juice combinations & regular fountain drink options available. After entering you place your order at the counter & your meal is made using the assembly line of ingredients. You can create your own bowl or select a pre-selected set of ingredients. The ingredients were fresh. I really enjoyed my bowl & plan on returning.

My mom is a vegan, so I wanted to find a place where she would have options for lunch. We stopped here for a quick bite on our way to Raleigh. Farmside Kitchen reminded me of a smaller version of Cava/Chopt. I kept it simple and ordered one of their signature farmbowls (salad), but you can create your own. You order at the counter and they make the farmbowl in front of you. The assembly line was quick and efficient. They have lots of tables available and the place is really bright with the light coming from all the windows. I got the Farmhouse Caesar. It was a great twist on a classic Caesar with the added ingredients of quinoa and tomatoes. My favorite part was the Parmesan crisps. This was a nice, light lunch. I definitely recommend if you're craving a salad.

The Rancher

Truly one of my new favorite places. I was traveling for work and stopped by this place before hitting the airport. There was no line, the service was friendly, and there was plenty of seating. The food was DELICIOUS. Great portions, customizable, and an easy way to get veggies. Highly recommend the rancher.

This is a build a bowl place, and it was efficiently run and large and clean inside. Getting a takeout order yielded a bowl that was ready in timely fashion. The ingredient choices were many, and I wasn't sad that I got miso root vegetables in addition to tofu. When you mix cooked ingredients with lettuce things get a little soggy and the bowl was perhaps a bit less than the sum of its parts. The dressing came in double and I didn't think using one full sachet was really necessary as it was salty and there was plenty of flavor in the bowl already. For me, this place was a pretty good examplar of the merits of fast casual dining: I went there when I needed something quick and easy.

We remembered her from a previous visit, and will request her in the future. Cocktails and mocktails were excellent, as was the sparkling wine enjoyed by one of our party of six. We were surprised and delighted to see foie gras on the menu, and it was perfectly prepared, with an accompaniment of blackberry jam. The lamb belly entree was very rich, but cooked perfectly. The vegetarian plate was beautiful and delicious. Celeriac soup and beet salad were both terrific, and the barbecued shrimp were spiced perfectly. Our only letdown was dessert - only one of the 3 options appealed, so we ordered 3 of those (key lime semifreddo) and found them to be beautifully sweet/tart. We'll be back.

Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a rundown of the menu before we ordered. I decided to start with the Cheese Plate, which included 3 different cheeses, buttered baguette slices, jam, mustard, and pickles. I enjoy cheese plates, and this one was great, but I can understand it may not be for everyone. My wife ordered the Red Fish, which had a more Southeast Asian-inspired twist to it. It came over rice and pickled onions and beets, and the flavors were a blend of lemongrass and coconut. The fish was cooked well - nice and tender, not too dry - and the flavors went well together. I ordered the New York Strip, which was delicious - the meat was well cooked, had great flavor, and was a generous portion that was very filling. The only gripe I had was that the char on the eggplant overwhelmed the flavor, so most of what I ate tasted like burnt eggplant. The place is clean and fairly laid back for a more upscale restaurant. If you're looking for a nicer restaurant in Chapel Hill where you might spend a little more, but you'll get great service with interesting food options / combinations, then look no further than Hawthorne & Wood.

We made a reservation for a Saturday night dinner and he made sure we were well taken care of all night. We started the night with their James Bears award winning cocktails, and every drink we ordered was a hit! Spiced strawberry mule, Sunset Sipper, and the table favorite: Earl Please. The latter two drinks were mocktails and they were still standouts! As for the food, the Alley burger was perfectly cooked: juicy patty paired with truffle cheese and simple toppings that really highlighted the burger itself. And shoestring fries are always a good choice with a delicious burger. Ricotta gnocchi was also very good. As our server Anthony said, let's get this burger nominated!

I go here to celebrate milestones with a good friend and we always have a mini feast, paired with a glass or two of wine. My favorite time to go is when the weather is comfortable and we can sit in the alley way, it's soooo chic that it feels like you're sitting outdoors at a meal in Italy of France. Service is always on point and I forget the bartenders name that is super knowledgeable and super kind. When I remember, I'll circle back to update this review. If it's a beautiful day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside instead. Still, the inside has a cozy, laid-back feel that works well. Shoutout to Qua, who was both the hostess and our server. She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.

It was fresh, filling, and well put together, with the bacon adding a nice smoky bite. The sweet potato fries were also pretty decent. Also this time I tried their house cocktail, "The Local" just how it comes with Conniption Kinship Gin, tonic, lime‑rosemary simple syrup, and a rosemary sprig. If I had known this beforehand, probably would not have ordered the Dinner Rolls- nonetheless, they were delightful (pillowy soft and came with an airy butter). As an appetizer, we got the Little Gem Lettuce, which was a little too salty for my taste, and I felt the citrus accentuated the saltiness even more. However, my friends thought it was seasoned well so take this with a grain of salt lol. But I did enjoy the creaminess of the dressing and the crunch from the topping; also, it was pleasant to eat along with some bread. For my entrée, I got the Spaghettini. This was my first time trying shaved black truffle and I was underwhelmed, but I loved the pasta itself, which had a really unique bite to it and was rich but not heavy. The pasta dishes are on the smaller side with regards to portion. Last but definitely not least: the Hot Chocolate Soufflé. Oh my gosh. When I say this was heavenly, I could literally hear angels singing as I took my first bite. The hot fudge was velvety but not overwhelming, the soufflé soft, and perfectly balanced by the cool bourbon-caramel ice cream. This is assembled table side so you get a fun little show as well haha. We were taken on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster because apparently they were having trouble with the oven, but so grateful that could be fixed.
