The best way I can describe Farmside Kitchen is: imagine the Chipotle build-your-own model, but applied entirely to salad ingredients and executed really well. You pick, you mix, you customize, and somehow it all comes together into something genuinely tasty. The Food The Farmhouse Salad and a few of the other signature options are excellent if you want something simple and satisfying right out of the gate. But the real fun is in the mix-and-match. The standard menu combinations are creative and the ingredient pairings work better than you'd expect. What's consistently impressed me most is the freshness. Everything tastes like it was actually prepped that day, which isn't a given at fast-casual spots. I have had to someties further chop down larger components that may not have been chopped with care but that is an easy fix. Pro Tip: If you're watching sodium, be intentional about your dressing choice. Some of them can sneak up on you. Easy fix once you know -- but worth flagging for my fellow low-sodium folks. Logistics: Parking is easy. Prices are reasonable. The only thing keeping me from being a regular is the 20-minute drive from my house, which says more about my laziness than anything about the restaurant. This looks like a great place to eat in, however, as we picked up I am going on looks alone. The food was great. I had the quinoa and kale bowl. I did add roasted vegetables to mine and very much recommend that add. It was tasty and filling. The only thing that was disappointing was the size of the piece of bread I received. I stopped in here for a salad one afternoon. It was good. I saw another review that said "think of Chipotle, only for salads" and I thought that was an accurate description. Same type of service and vibe inside as Chipotle. Great alternative to fast food and likely way less expensive than getting a salad bar from Whole Foods. I got The Rancher and my partner got the Build your own farmbowl. I loved mine, I'm glad I can request to remove an ingredient or replace it with something else. This is the second Farmside Kitchen location in the Triangle. This location is located in the upper level of the Waverly Place shopping plaza. There is plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. There is also also a large dining area indoors & some seats and tables outside. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by multiple employees. The staff were exceptional throughout our visit. They were very helpful in assisting us with our bowls, to-go containers, bags, drinks, etc. We got the opportunity to come for a sneak peak of the business that is opening next week. Farmside offers a variety of preselected bowl options or you can create your own bowl. They also have a kids menu, avocado toast, cookies fountain drinks such as soda & fruit juices, grilled cheese, and etc. We got to try a variety of items such as their bowls, Mac & cheese, cookies, juices & sodas. We got our food very quickly & were provided with large portion sizes. We even had leftovers. Everything tasted good and was fresh. My favorite was the Rancher & Caesar bowls. Bottom line: Farmside Kitchen in their Waverly Place location serves up some light and healthier meal options that I enjoy. I like having a choice that not only offers that type of meal but you can customize to your liking as well. Good meals so far here. The Deets: I've discovered Farmside Kitchen fairly recently by ordering from them delivery-wise using their RTP location. I found it a great way to order a pretty healthy and light meal through delivery. Now I have been able to visit their Waverly Place location in person here as well. This location is bright and clean, flow is easy to get to order your meal with a good sized seating area inside. There are a few tables outside also. When ordering, you can see all the ingredients available during each step of the process, pretty simple. They have a wide variety of choices to put together to make your meal unique or have many pre-formulated menu selections that they put together in front of you. I usually go with the Little Farmer Bowl with your choice of grilled protein, choice of grain, choice of green, black beans or roasted veggie, topping/dressing, and a choice of drink. I usually like Romaine, grilled chicken, rice, black beans, and Parmesan cheese for my bowl. Yes, it's from the kid's menu but it's just the size I need and contains all I'd like to enjoy in the meal (remember, keeping it somewhat light here). One visit I did get their avocado toast and enjoyed it as a "side" to my bowl choice. Service was adequate both visits, felt a bit rushed the first time but well served and all went well. Came here on a Wednesday afternoon. Restaurant is casual as you order at the counter. There is a limit to amount of food options you put in your bowl. My husband and I happened upon their sneak peak/employee training. I have been wanting to try the Durham location for a while and it never worked out. So glad the owner and manager stopped us to invite us in. Usually I stay away from a restaurant when they are opening as they are ironing out the kinks. Not here. The service was so friendly and quick! The food was fresh and plentiful. Love they use locally sourced food. I tried the root veggie bowl with chicken and my husband had the pitchfork with tofu. The proteins were both cooked perfectly. I liked the root veggie bowl better than the pitch fork. I wanted to try the farm Caesar but thought that looked boring compared to others. Farmside Kitchen has opened their second location in Waverly Place. My friend and I both chose one of their farmbowls, it was the farm caesar for me and the farmside for her. Both bowls were delicious. One of my personal favorites is the rancher. I also really like their handcrafted beverages but did not get one since we got our bowls to go and took them over to Triangle Wine. A bit ticky to find with gps. I had to get out of my vehicle and walk the lot. Upon entering a noticed an extremely clean and well lit space. The staff here were welcoming and pleasant staff. I enjoyed the Farm Caesar and I must agree with the description of it being not our average Caesar . I enjoyed the seasoned quinoa in this. I can't wait to come back and try other Farm-bowls. What the "Kale"?? It's been so long since my last post, right? I hope my following is still around to see what motivated me to come out of my pseudo-retirement on Yelp...well... let me tell you about a wonderful place called Farmside Kitchen. Ambiance: As normal, I will give you my common sense feedback, and also set expectations, this is a "go in and build your meal at the counter" restaurant, that caters to both lunch and dinners. You order and sit, in a really nicely done dining area with good flow which work well when you don't have a lot of those people who sit and hold tables while the other part of their group orders...DON'T BE THOSE PEOPLE. Help the system work. I will say though you need to read on to see how "Farmside K" elevate themselves over the likes of Cava, Chipotle, Sweet Greens, Mezah and Roti Modern M...others. Food: I first went to Farmside to have lunch with my son on Thursdays, but I hate to say I know look forward to seeing him as much as eating my favorite Kale and Quinoa salad. I remember walking in and thinking "oh wow" another fresh/health food-based place like Chipotle, Cava or Sweet Gardon. Then I took my first bite, and I instantly could taste the difference in the freshness of the greens, vivid tastes of the protein and veggies all packed very generously in a nice sized bowl of yumminess ($11.99/great deal). It got my attention, so after a quick internet search I found they do use fresh local'ish farm produce. So, their food foundation is solid and better than the competition. At their new store opening today, I interviewed several folks to find many of them were repeat customers, had brought friends that live nearby, and all had great things to say about the items they had had on menu. This one gentleman really cracked me up, he visits 2 time per week, because he is a big fan of the Kale and Quinoa salad, but also loves The Pitchfork. He does not miss a week without having each! Service: They have the most efficiently ran line to build your bow line I have seen yet. I went to the opening of their newest location in Waverly Place Shopping center in East Cary, NC arriving to stand in the end of line coming out of the restaurant about 100 yards long (see the picture attached on the post). Happy to say we had our bowls and were sitting at our table eating in less than 15 minutes. This is great on "lunch" Thursday with my son because we get more table quality time and less standing in line time. The line service is very well trained and no matter how busy they are always very pleasant...both of these combined create and positive customer experience. Price for Quality: The price point is crazy too, look at the pictures, I never leave hungry, the portions are very generous. I have already stated the excellent quality of the food ...so, it's a good deal. Summary: If you are looking for some healthy, great tasting food, at a reasonable price point...look no further. This Woman-Led Business is Great! We visited the Cary Waverly Place location (there's one in RTP, too) for a midweek lunch. Lots of menu salad bowl choices or construct your own. Like I said Lots of Choices. My friend had the G.O.A.T. with warm sweet potatoes, arugula, goat cheese and four other toppings, with a lemon basil vinaigrette. Substitutions are permitted-no extra charge! I constructed my own -The deal is choose 1 protein, 2 greens/grains + 6 toppings and dressing. My salad had chopped kale, quinoa, avocado, plus beets, sweet potatoes, pickled red onions and cukes - you get the picture! You have a choice of proteins: grains, tofu or chicken. A thin slice of La Farm bread comes with. They were doing a brisk business a noontime. It's counter service and seat yourself. There's limited outdoor seating, but it was too hot a day to give it a try. I'll definitely be back. Way to go!! read more

It's clean and efficient and the bowls were filled with fresh ingredients giving you a decent portion overall for the money. Dressings are fantastic and not over seasoned. Compared to other bowl places however, I was less satisfied with the tiny portions of each ingredient. The bowls look nothing like the ones in the menu pics. What you're served is a ton of greens, and then speck here and there of the other add-ins - a small and precisely leveled off scoop from which there would be no deviation. I even doubled up on some ingredients, paying extra, and still, barely found them within the mass of kale. The slice of bread was in on the joke, being only slightly bigger than a cracker. We both got tired and bored of chewing the kale long before we were actually full and then packed up the remains of our kale bin at the halfway mark and went in search of some additional lunch. read more

We came here one night for dinner. The inside of the restaurant was stuffy and hot. I'm usually cold natured and I thought it was too hot to sit inside so we sat outside on their patio. We built our own salad bowls. I appreciated they had quinoa and lentils. They had chicken as basically the only meat protein to pick from which was a bummer. The build your own salad came with 6 toppings but the proportions they gave you were on the smaller side. Nothing wrong with the taste of the salad but also nothing to rave home about - it's a good option if you need something quick and healthy. read more
