Chicken over rice
Alexis M.

Went at lunch time not too crowded, nice parking lot and clean interior with lots of options to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful even with the line inside. I ordered the chicken over rice. For the 20 minutes it took to make it was so so, not bad but not good. The chicken was cooked very good, but everything lacked seasoning including the dressing. I found my meal to be very watery overall (this was take out and i took the lid off in the car to avoid condensation) I would come here again to try something different, but make sure i have enough time for lunch or order ahead.

The staff seemed pleasant and helpful. Explaining that everything is housemade. The space was well lit. Some tables needed to be cleaned. They were super busy. I had the chopped cheese, sweet potato fries and a green land smoothie. I enjoyed the green land smoothie which contained spinach, mango, banana, and honey I chose almond milk over apple juice. Very good! The chopped cheese was OKAY, could have used equal parts protein and bread but it left so much more to be desired. Everything "house-made"- I beg to differ. Based on my personal experience, many of the food items were not prepared on site. - Sweet potato fries - Onion rings - The individual with me said the burger was that of a frozen beef patties. While the food was decent I could've enjoyed far better at home preparing it myself. Overall, this is likely a good go to for many but not for me. I do not recommend Grill & Go Deli if you're seeking a good chopped cheese. The smoothies are a good go to if there isn't anything else around in the area that's convenient. I've had better elsewhere in the Triangle.

This place is a gem! This is my first time finding a bodega style place in Raleigh and it did not disappoint. My friend and I found a video of Grill & Go on instagram and ran to try it immediately. We got a chopped cheese, smoothie, combo over rice, beef sausage, egg, and cheese bagel, and a pistachio cake. The star of the show EASILY was the chopped cheese. This was a 10/10. We also loved the sausage egg and cheese in the bagel, except next time we'd ask for it with more cheese. The lamb and chicken over rice was good, but not the best around to me... however it is still worth the try. The pistachio cake was super moist, fluffy, and delicious. Not sure the exact name of the cake but we ate every bite. The smoothies were really fresh and refreshing- not very sweet but that's because it was just straight blended fruit. The prices were great and portions were too. The food didn't take long to come out either. The only downside to our experience here was that their AC goes out so it felt like we were eating in a sauna. Other than that, the meal was delicious and I'll definitely be back.

This place is a hidden gem. Mom was waiting in the car so I rushed in and picked out something randomly for both of us. The restaurant is absolutely adorable and has TONS of drinks on display and fresh dessert. Mom and I just got a panini each and went home to eat. Yall. I was ready to go back for seconds. I texted my man to see if he wanted what I just ate before heading back home. To know it was made with fresh, delicious ingredients, speedy service, adorable restaurant, and pretty affordable, we will absolutely be back.

Great new spot. Delicious NY favorites like chopped cheese, bacon egg and cheese, chicken and lamb over rice. It's all very good at a reasonable price! I think the best value has to be the burgers, they come with fries and are only 9.99. They have some cool drinks in their cooler. The staff is friendly and helpful, even when they get busy. I love the esthetics of the inside. It's like a super high end bodega with a mural of the NY subway system. Plenty of seating for individuals or small groups. They have their own parking lot which is definitely a plus in this area. They also take Hillsborough Street dollars!

I heard about Grill &Go deli on instagram. Made a stop in while on lunch. I notice they served chopped cheeses. Which are one of my favorites. The chop cheese was nicely prepared. It was hot and fresh. Not overly cheesy and well seasoned. The bread was perfect as well. Their fries were fresh and not greasy. The service was friendly and inviting. The deli was clean with a nice vibrant ambiance. If you are ever in the Hillsborough St. area. Give the folks a try!

I did have 4 stars and now I'm going down to 3. I missed the halal I got in Charlotte and this was the closest I've found to it and ever since I've been going here and it's been great, no problems ! I chose to go today and they've made some changes according to the lady, THIS PAST WEEK suddenly with zero signage .. they now charge 50 cents per sauce on the side even tho they only put a little on top, they can at least do one on the side complimentary .. not sure why this changed but doesn't make sense. Not only that but the lady that was in there was rude, didn't greet us or anything. Probably was mad about me saying something about the price over the phone but hey. Not only do they charge for sauce now but the chicken and rice price went up AND THE PORTION SHRUNK BAD. Who raises prices but lowers the portion size ? I will not be back after this, I rather drive the 2 hrs to Charlotte . Went from huge circular containers to tiny little rectangle smh.

The photo is horrible. I ate it too much before I took the picture. I was just gonna taste it, but I couldn't stop shoveling it in.

Great food. Fast service very clean highly recommend. And when I say the food is good that's an understatement. The food is absolutely outstanding. You have got to check this place out.

Lamb Over Rice

Hidden gem. Food is always yummy and they have a super wide selection of food and drinks. Fair prices too. Great for takeout.

Being from Brooklyn, walking into Grill & Go Deli instantly felt like home. This halal, New York inspired spot has a cozy Saturday morning vibe that's perfect for a family breakfast. I ordered the strawberry banana blast smoothie that had strawberries, mango, banana, and apple juice. Fresh and delicious. I also ordered French toast and beef sausage. The sausage was banging, and while the grilled French toast was flatter than I prefer, the flavor was still on point. Great food, service, atmosphere, and a nice touch of NYC nostalgia to start the day.

We finally checked it out and now it's in the rotation for really good burgers! Idk why I waited so long to get here, by now that I know and I want everyone else to too. There is a parking lot next to the building - they will tow you if you park there and don't go into the restaurant though. So don't wander away. Sometimes they have a greeter, sometimes it's a seat yourself situation. Service is quick, the menu is large without being overwhelming, and the most important part: the food is good. I always get a classic, all the fixings, and fries. I also always bribe my husband to get the onion rings with his food and then we swap a little. The MoJoe sauce that comes with the onion rings is money! Also the onion rings somehow manage to stay together in each bite, which is awesome. I'm a big fan!

Service could be better, but it's not bad. Decor and the bar were very cool and well designed parts of the restaurant. We ordered the Alabama Slammer and Classic Cheeseburger with truffle fries. If you order the truffle fries, make sure to grab a fork or extra napkins (or both)! Eating them gets real messy. Overall, a nice, casual burger spot in Raleigh with great fries.

Pick up your meal at the counter and it's time to eat! I did their popular truffle burger with fries Italiano and OMG! The burger was amazingly tender, rich and delicious. Tender grilled beef, smoky Gouda cheese, caramelized onions and truffle flavoring throughout. The skin-on fries with shaved parm, rosemary and garlic made for the perfect side. While the bar is not open yet, it looks like CowBar North Hills will have some beers and drinks to go with your burger. Overall I am super happy with what I experienced at CowBar. While the food is a touch pricey, it's totally worth the money and a better option to dine here, versus a crowded, noisy spot. Enjoy, Raleigh. You may have the best burger in the Triangle with CowBar!
