Unique pastries and bread. Prices so low I always tip the owner. Great new startup business and super friendly service.

Amazing bakery! They make the best flan in the area (which is also sold at Cocoa Cinnamon). Be sure to visit the store for more goodies!

I had heard good things about T Distefano's bakery before and happened to be in Mebane for the day…read more I'm so glad I was because everything we tried was delicious. The shop has the display cases right when you walk in the door and there is a little cafe area off to the right which seemed cute. We were greeted when we walked in and the girl who helped us gave us plenty of time while we decided what to order. I asked what her favorite thing was that they had and she told me the danishes or the cheesecakes. I ended up ordering several things to try: a glazed donut, glazed raspberry filled donut, powdered raspberry filled donut, cheese danish, chocolate chip cookie, and cinnamon roll. The donuts and cinnamon roll were given to family who already knew how good the donuts were and we tried the chocolate chip cookie and cheese danish. The chocolate chip cookie was huge, chewy, and had a great flavor. I think my favorite thing I tried was the cheese danish. The dough was buttery and the filling wasn't too sweet. It was a great suggestion from the girl working there. Also, all of this was under $18 which is crazy. Will definitely be coming back.

Pumpkin cream cheese muffin for the win-it was delicious! I would say that the service was average,…read morethe young ladies working seemed a bit overwhelmed when three of us were in line waiting to order. The display cases of the sweet treats looked well organized and the presentation made it really hard to choose just one thing, as there were so many items on display that looked absolutely inviting!

I was lucky enough to get regular weekly bread deliveries from Box Turtle Bakery for awhile there…read more I happened to be on Abraham's weekly route, so it worked out. Now I'll have to actually venture out to Carrboro's Farmer's Market or South Estes Farmer's Market to get his home baked breads and treats. And when I say home baked, I mean literally baked in the special custom designed wood burning bread baking oven attached to the home bakery in his house. Abraham's philosophy is to work closely with local farmers and use fresh milled organic and local grains for his breads and other baked goods where ever possible. Of course, he sells locally too. If you can't get to him at the farmer's markets, you can always work out a time to pick up your order at the Bakery itself. What can I say? You have to work for it a bit, but it sure is worth it. Oh, and just to trip you up, expect some variety! Abraham likes to try new and different recipes and there's something interesting to sink your teeth into and wake up your taste buds just about every week. Disclaimer: I count Abraham as a friend so, yes, I'm pretty excited about what he's doing. But, come on... this isn't some spongy boring white bread with dubious nutritional value we're talking about. This is SERIOUS BREAD! Don't even tell me your mouth isn't watering right now. Mine sure is!

Everything I've ever gotten from this place is amazing! He makes his products with real quality…read moreingredients (you can taste it). I love the granola bars and scones - not overly sweet, unrefined grains and flours, and great flavor. I buy from Box Turtle at the carrboro farmers market on saturdays.

Got a loaf of sourdough bread, a cherry danish, an apple turnover and an eclair. They were pretty…read moregood, except for the eclair. It didn't really have any flavor to it. It's located in a strip mall next to a strip mall with bars on the doors and windows which looks sketchy but the inside was nice and clean. I wish they had a bigger selection of pastries and desserts. Probably won't be back. :/

This place is a complete disappointment…read more They call themselves a French bakery, but that's nothing more than a marketing trick. The lady greeted me " Bonjour", I replied "Comment allez-vous?" no answer!!! I should say " Cómo estás?" In reality, it's a Latino bakery pretending to be something it's not. The breads are awful and overpriced, to be honest, I think the croissants come right from the Sam's club, the sourdough is nothing but a cheap grocery quanlity French bread. The pastries are even worse, with none of the craft, technique, or taste you expect from anything French. It's misleading and deceptive to lure customers in under the "French bakery" label when there is nothing French about it. I left feeling cheated. If you are looking for true French baking, avoid this place. I am sure the original owners, the retired French couple is heart broken!
