The host Dom i believe is his name initially he said a table of 6 would be an hour wait time on a busy Saturday. Then I asked about spilting the tables 3 and 3 to which he accommodated easily. Then when we saw where we were seating & that there was some empty tables after speaking to him he easily worked it out so all 6 of us can sit together. His service was above & beyond. Now the waitress brooklyn took care of all of us Iike she was servicing family at home. She was excellent, attentive and a reason we will come back to eat there. Metro Diner is extremely popular. You have to be brave to gone here on a weekend as the wait can exceed an hour. We decided to wait it out one day after a previously failed attempt. The menu is large and varied. I wanted both fried chicken and traditional breakfast food and they were able to accommodate both. The food comes out fast, so they are able to move people in and out fairly quickly. The pancakes are huge but good. I would definitely come back, but on a weekday. read more

I tried Metro Diner for a weekday lunch when I was in the area for an appointment. There was a line waiting for a table, but they were able to seat me at the counter with no wait. My Tangy Chicken Bowl was good. It came with a very large serving of lightly fried chicken, clearly just out of the fryer, that had been lightly tossed in sauce. The cook clearly showed some finesse with the chicken as it was a notch above what I expected. The rice was OK, but not exceptional. If there was a weak point to my meal, it was the service. For some reason the server was surprised that I needed silverware to eat my meal. But that is nitpicking what is otherwise a positive experience. This is a very busy restaurant, but it didn't really feel like a diner. Sitting at the counter, I got to watch the kitchen crew deal with a large numbers of orders very efficiently. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating and the ambiance has like a 1950s or 1960s vibe to it. I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict with hash browns. I'm always looking for a good eggs benedict. The egg and the ham were cooked perfectly the English muffin was cold and could not eat much of the hash browns because they were too greasy. My son ordered the eggs Benedict with chicken he had home fries that were deep fried. The chicken was cooked well the eggs were cooked while the Hollandaise sauce was good the English muffin was cold but the saving grace of that dish was the deep fried home fries they were very good. Improve the staff work integrity. I am a regular rather it's through DoorDash or coming in person and once they noticed I was a regular they began to give me mediocre food through DoorDash. They left things off my order and shorten me the quantity at times. They fixed it perfect the next time I ordered bc I left a bad review then went right back to mediocre food. I went in this past Sunday and the server never checked on me after dropping off my food which I didn't trip it was busy. Metro Diner please do better! I was seated and no one ever came over for about 15 minutes, I was reading so I really want paying attention. I flagged down the host and he got someone over about 6 minutes later. I ordered the Southwest Breakfast bowl with a fried egg. Of course it comes out with scrambled and they wanted me to move the eggs to the side and just bring me a scrambled egg to place on top. I had to ASK for the entire bowl to be re-made because of how the toppings are layered especially with the salsa and sour cream. While in the area this morning I stopped in for a early breakfast with my daughter. We were seated immediately upon entering. Kourtney was our waitress and she provided excellent southern hospitality. The staff here are excellent. Friendly and courteous. There's also outdoor seating. It's in a shopping center, so there's plenty of parking. Melissa was our server and she was wonderful. Great with suggestions and her take on menu items we asked about. The fried chicken plate was a very generous portion consisting of half a chicken. The coating was well seasoned and lightly crispy...not heavy or greasy! I have a love/ hate relationship with waffles especially Belgian waffles since oftentimes they're not very flavorful & they're kinda doughy. You have the option of choosing it topped cinnamon roll style. I was a bit skeptical since to me it means a super sweet & gooey concoction.
