New favorite restaurant loveeeee the pitchers of mimosas and the food is always great

Wanted to try out this place. Dining area was brightly lit with vibrant colors. That is the only positive thing I felt. Things went south in every aspect. Service not good. We were not attended to for a good amount of time. Even then the server rushed the order and didn't have time to describe the item too. We orderd a coffee, a benedict, omlette and a napoleon temptation. Coffee - burnt. Definitely not worth $3.49 Omlette- mushy Benedict - it was okay but not great. Napoleon Temptation- burnt pancake. So bad that it was crunchy. Suggestion to the chef -- if something is burnt don't send it out. People will understand things like that. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Dorgot to mention that The Manager gave a huge discount of $2 when mentioned about burnt pancake and coffee. read more

I was lucky enough to make it to the Yelp Elite event last night at Another Broken Egg Cafe, and I must admit- I'm addicted :) This restaurant can easily be overlooked in the mayhem of Village Market Place, and the parking isn't as plentiful as many would like. But it's worth the drive and walk... I guarantee it! They're open from 7am-2pm, so get there early for tasty brunch; you won't regret it. If you want a succulent appetizer, do yourself a favor & order the Biscuit Beignets. They're crunchy biscuit bites tossed in powdered sugar, served with a side of honey marmalade. If those don't make you lick your lips, I don't know what will :) I ordered the Bananas Foster Belgian Waffle, and it was served steaming hot topped with whipped cream and crushed pecans. This isn't usually something I'd carb-load on during a breakfast meal, but my God, that was the BEST waffle I have EVER had. The bananas foster sauce is made in house, and each bite of banana/sauce/whipped cream/pecans will make you want to chew faster to eat the next bite. It's just that good..... the end. The service was excellent, and rumor had it that their peppery bloody marys are to die for. They infuse vodka with a fresh pepper blend of red/green peppers and habaneros so you'll surely feel the kick at the end of each sip. They say they're opening one in North Hills, so keep your eyes open- this place is super! read more

The decor is unlike anything I'm used to around here, but it definitely seems to scream (yelp?) "cafe." It was a busy Saturday morning, yet I was promptly seated at the far end of the location. The tables weren't cramped for space and I was able to read comfortably while I waited for my meal. A coupon got me free beignets. They were generously powered and the serving was substantial. Each one was almost too big to fit into my mouth whole. They came with a sugary/citrus-y jam-like dip. Or something. I then ordered the Potato Skillet and biscuits and gravy. Both were very good, but I'm still partial to the B&G at Toast Cafe in Cary. The Potato Skillet had andouille sausage, scrambled egg, crawfish and potatoes all mixed into a mass, with melted cheese on top. I don't remember seeing the cheese on the menu, or I would've made a point to keep it off. If it's not on the menu, then that's a major fail on ABEC. If I missed it, then I had it coming. The experience was a good one, though not perfect. The server stayed with me for the most part, yet when I was ready to roll, I didn't see her in like forever. I had to ask someone else to close me out. Just a few missed points here that keep them from scoring higher, but it's darn sure a great spot for a relaxed breakfast, lunch or that one particular dining event in between. read more

This place has a ton of potential. It's a fairly new restaurant, so it could easily become a 4-star in my book. But for now, it's OK. Went to lunch with my wife after fasting for 36 hours - long story - but short story was I was starving. We arrived at lunch and the place was pretty busy but we were seated quickly. Our table was up against the window and I had to put on my sunglasses. I was hoping our server would take the hint and offer to re-seat us or pull down the shades, but no. Not a biggie, but something I remembered. Ordered coffee, the 3 stack of pancakes with apples and cinnamon, and a side of bacon. The coffee was good. Others have said theirs was burnt, but mine tasted fine. Unfortunately the cup didn't stay full and I had to ask for a refill after my food came out. The pancakes arrived sans apples, but the server recognized this immediately and 2 minutes later they were back as expected. The manager came over and apologized and to check if everything was good. It was. The pancakes were good, but not as good as Brigs. I know this is a very high bar, but when I'm paying $10 for pancakes, I expect awesome pancakes. They weren't bad by any means. The bacon was good, not great. My wife enjoyed her crab-something-something-eggs benedict. Her potatoes were obviously from out of a bag though, a bit surprised. The thing that puts this over Brigs is that they have a bar. The mimosa and bloody mary crowd will find all that they want here. The last issue was with our check. We sat close to 10 minutes waiting for it after they took our plates. read more

Another Broken Egg Cafe - Location customized coffee cups, nice touch, - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Morrisville, North Carolina

Started our meal with an order of free beignets from joining 'The Coop'. These were excellent, really awesome dipping sauce of warm orange marmalade. The coffee here is good, strong, and plentiful. Our waiter keep our mugs full and even gave us one to go. I had an order of sweet potato pancakes. Huge pancake topped with candied nuts, syrup, and whipped cream. Love them but was ready to lay down and go into sugar coma after eating half of my dish and could not finish it. Though they were good, I would probably not order again since they were a bit too sweet for my taste and the savory dishes look amazing. read more

Very nice brunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe! I knew that it would be busy so I joined the online wait list on Yelp. When I first looked around 9:30am it said the wait was a reasonable 20 minutes. I planned to be there at 11 so I decided to check in at 10:30. Well, by that time the line had grown significantly to almost an hour wait. So I would recommend that you check the wait list often if you really want to be there at a certain time. However, I joined the wait list and headed over there, arriving about 11:10. My GPS direction took me to Target or something. But it's across the way, in the shopping center with Zoe's Kitchen and some other stuff. It's right next to Chili's! So don't let your GPS take you in circles around the roundabout. They told me 20 minutes when I got there, even though I had joined the wait list 30-40 minutes before. However, I think we waited about 10 minutes. I got a call and a text that my table was ready, both automated, so they make sure that they don't miss you. My friend and I were seated at a small table in the corner. It didn't feel crowded or cramped at all. The atmosphere is intimate and the noise level was really reasonable. Even though it was so busy, we didn't feel like we were in a crowded place. We had our own space. Our waitress, Maya, gave us a lot of attention. My friend and I were talking so much that it took a while to focus up and order but Maya was very patient. She answered all our questions and gave us suggestions. My friend didn't want the standard sides and Maya made sure that she presented her with some other options. I tried the Strawberry and Black Cherry mimosas. I definitely preferred the strawberry because it was sweeter. Even the strawberry garnish was really sweet. The black cherry had a strong black cherry flavor and was less sweet. I also sampled my friend's Blueberry Lemon mimosa. It didn't have a strong taste of blueberry or lemon. It mostly tasted like champagne. It took a little while for our food to come out. But I didn't really mind because I was busy chatting and drinking mimosas. It wasn't a bad wait. Our food came and it looked so good, I forgot to take a picture. I got the Cinnamon Roll. It was this crunch cinnamon roll french toast with cream cheese glaze and foster sauce, fruit and whipped cream on top. It was so delicious. The cinnamon roll was crunchy on the edges, soft in the middle. Perfectly cooked. It was sweet but not too sweet. The bite with the fruits was perfect. Wow, I'm still thinking about it. I'm definitely coming back for that cinnamon roll. It also came with eggs, which were cooked well. The homemade sausage was flavorful. It was definitely enough food. Too much! I felt like I got a lot of value for the price. I had a really nice brunch and I will definitely stop by again! read more

UPDATE: We continue to order pick-up or delivery from here. The food continues to be flavorful and delicious. We have also dined at the location for the first time. We had family visiting so we decided to bring them here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. We had a reservation (made via Yelp) and were seated upon arrival. The restaurant is nice however it can be loud and the tables are rather small. Our waiter, Brandon, was great. He was very welcoming and attentive. As per usual we loved the food. I especially enjoyed my Mardi Gras Omelette and beignets. The only item we have ordered recently that was disappointing was the Chocolate Stuffed Belgian waffle. We just received a waffle with some chocolate under it, strawberries, and a side of chocolate syrup and whipped cream. For the price, we at least expected it to be how it was described on the menu ("Belgian waffle stuffed with white and dark chocolate, topped with strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate sauce"). Mainly, we were expecting it to be stuffed with chocolate. Other than that, things have been as described and very satisfying! read more

On a busy morning where I had to skip breakfast I was happy to be near Another Broken Egg location. I was seated immediately and my server came over and asked what I wanted to drink. Coffee & water were brought out and I was ready to order. I was not disappointed. I had pancake stack with lemon goat cheese on top and a side of bacon. For those of you hesitating over the goat cheese don't let that stop you. It was not overwhelming and very delicious. Lots of seasonal choices going on right now so those people wanting to try something new have choices to make. This location was larger than I had tried before so no one was crowded into a table close to another patron. I will be back to another seasonal choice before they are gone! read more

Mediocre food for high prices and long waits. One of our meals was cold. Not sure they know how to poach eggs. Disappointing.

Another Broken Egg is a great place for Brunch in the Cary Morrisville area. They offer over 114 items on their unique and creative menu that includes a variety of options of appetizers, omelettes, benedicts, skillets, salads, burgers, sandwiches and more. I have only been to Another Broken Egg a few times, but I have been able to try a variety of flavorful options including the Biscuit Beignets, Cinnamon Roll French Toast, Carrot "Pan"cake, Bananas Foster Pancake and Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancake. My friends have tried a number of other dishes including the Lobster & Brie Omelette, Peach Cobbler Pancake and Black Bean Benedict. The food is quite tasty and filling. I have been able to make the food I have ordered last me 2 meals. Many of the breakfasts come with a protein side (choice of bacon, house-made sausage patties, turkey sausage, Andouille sausage or ham). I LOVE breakfast, so this restaurant is quite appealing to me with the many options and flavors they offer on their extensive menu. The restaurant does not take reservations, but they do accept 30 minute call ahead seating. This was VERY helpful when I brought a party of 10 for brunch after exercise class. As for the pricing, I think it is a little higher than some other brunch places in the area, but I do think it is worth checking out. read more

Two stars because the waiter, Brandon, was really sweet. But the food was just not good. The French toast was literally glorified bread. There was basically no egg on it. Last I remember, French toast is supposed to be soaked in the egg, then thrown on the griddle. And then smothered in powered sugar! Well, I think so anyway. But there was barely enough on there to say they had some on there.... I don't think I'll be back if it's my choice. Husband said his pancakes were awesome. But he's VERY easy to please! read more

A bit spendy for breakfast but it's quality food, and the kind of selections that make you sad you only have enough room for one dish.

I know times are tough but our experience today was disappointing. It felt like one side of the restaurant had all the servers, we of course were sat on the other side. It took an age to get a drink. The food was dissapointing. I had eggs beadict with the smallest amount of hollendaise sauce. My husband an omelette with an English muffin. We had to ask for butter for the muffin and I asked for a little more sauce. Half way through the meal they arrived. I had to track down a server ( from tether side of the house) to get a refill on my coffee After waiting for our server to reappear. What topped the whole thing was getting charged for the additional sauce! the place had plenty of staff but we had a dreadful experience. read more

I'm not sure what was going on here today, but I AM sure I won't be back. I'm a brunch-a-holic and this was the worst brunch experience I've ever had! Our entire experience exceeded 2 hours. When we (party of 4) first got there the guy ahead of us seemed flustered because he'd made a reservation a few days ago and the 16 year old hostess said they had no record of it. The manager came over and showed her how to use the app, and walked away. She said they'd "try to seat them as soon as possible." To is she told us a half hour wait, despite us being able to see several open booths. Fortunately we weren't in a hurry so we waited patiently. This would become a theme of the meal. About 15 mins later, she took us to our booth. We sat, and about half an hour later our server came over with our waters and coffees. We were looking around for someone to ask, and didn't see our server or a manager anywhere to be found. I didn't order my usual brunch cocktails, Bloody Marys or mimosas because they were $8!!!! About 20 minutes after that he brought us 4 beniegts to "apologize for the wait." It still took like 15 more minutes to get our actual food. By the time we got our food, everyone's food was cold. Arg!! Anything we wanted (water/coffee refills, hot sauce, etc.) we had to ask for multiple times!! It was beyond frustrating!!! Management was completely uninvolved, the hostess was totally overwhelmed, and our server seemed entirely uninterested. I will not be back. There are so many good restaurants in the area, I'd recommend looking around a little before you settle for this place. Tl;dr: extreme waits for everything, food came out cold read more

Thursday at noon. Wait time for table for 2, was 8 min. We were seated. Drinks ordered, drinks came under 5 min. We ordered food then waited 45 min for food. Had to ask for drink refills. When food came. Sausage was cold, eggs luke warm, gravy thick as wallpaper glue and biscuits dry and gritty/ dense. The fried chicken was over cooked, and had the taste of burned fry oil. I can't say that I will be back. read more

Good food and nice place. We got in around 9am on a Saturday and while there were plenty of patrons there were several available tables, so we were seated right away. Took a bit longer than expected to get drink orders from our server but not bad. Coffee is decent, about what I expected, and came in this cute mug with the restaurant logo and both half and half and flavored creamer. They're equipped with a variety of packaged sweeteners (which is a big deal for me!), including raw sugar (yay!!). Any breakfast joint with sugar in the raw scores big points with me. We got the kids dollar pancakes, buttermilk pancakes, and the basic french toast plate. Pancakes had a nice flavor; texture was slightly gummy but overall still fluffy. Eggs over medium came with a runny yolk just like we like, bacon was thick and crispy, and the stack of french toast was thick and fluffy. The kids pancakes were tiny, as one would expect, and my 9-year old was still hungry afterwards (came with bacon and eggs), so I think portion size is geared more towards a really little kid. Server was polite and attentive. Overall a really good experience and we'll come back. read more

My wife and I went to the Morrisville, NC Another Broken Egg Cafe on Wednesday, 10/20/2021, at 12:05 PM. We were surprised that they were not busy at that time of day. They were barely using 1/2 of the tables. I ordered the Hey Lucy omelette with fruit as the side and my wife ordered the Southwest Chopped Salad with turkey. When my omelette arrived it wasn't an omelette at all it was a scrambler. The egg portion was severely overdone. The chorizo, onions and green chilies that are supposed to be folded inside the omelette were mixed in the overdone egg. There was only a very small taste of the chorizo, onions and green chilies in the "omelette". It looked like the cook only used about a teaspoon of each of the ingredients. The "omelette" was also delivered to me by my waitress "Mary O" without the sides of salsa and sour cream and without the english muffin. My coffee was very good as was the fruit. My wifes Southwest Chopped Salad was also poor. The tortilla chips were burnt and the quality of the other ingredients was subpar. Service was reasonably quick and the waitress was good at refilling our beverages. Now I know why they are not very busy. read more

Part of Broken Egg's appeal is that it is close to Duke campus, and so Dukies will drop by for lunch. When a group of friends and I went, we had to wait for about 15 minutes before getting seated (bear in mind that we need to get back by a certain time). Does the food merit the wait and the gamble to get back in time? Hm... it's good, but not that good, especially for the price of $13+. I got the veggie omelette, which comes with asparagus, red peppers, green onions, goat cheese and roasted garlic on English muffin and fruit. The muffin was toasted well, which is important, because a flimsy muffin gives it no structure and tastes like raw dough. What about the omelette itself? I love me some veggies, but I think I was most taken aback by the garlic clove. Yes, they literally put A clove of garlic into the omelette. I'm no Count Dracula, but I still prefer not to eat a whole clove of garlic in one bite. They really should have crushed it and sprinkled it on. Overall, okay and I may or may not go back, especially when there are other brunch places close by. read more

I came in today and the customer service was very bad. I had to wait 1 hour and then was taking off the waiting list and then had to wait another hour. I was finally seated and then wait 45mins for my food then for them to tell me my ticket was lost. Then I waited 25 more minutes for my food. They brought out my food and it was all nasty. I ordered bacon and it was burnt so I asked for more bacon and they said they didn't have in more and replaced it with sausage. They brought the sausage out and it was burnt as well. I feel like this one star isn't even deserved. I've wanted to like this place and have given it many opportunities and it's always provided long waits for food and mediocre service. Today was a new story tho. Placed a to go order of a couple items, there was a lot of trouble with the person taking order hearing which I understand especially if it's busy. But we made sure they repeated the order back correctly, and they did. We arrive after a 45 minute quoted time of wait to pick up the order ( which is a long time for a restaurant that specializes in this type of business) , pay our $60 and head on our way. Until we get home... over half the food is missing- we understand maybe they just forgot one of the bags, we should've checked too. We come all the way back to get our order and it's not even accurate, we ordered a south west scrambler and the person taking the order said the same thing and they rang up some south west salad instead- so they say it'll be 15 minute wait for our correct order.. we unfortunately don't have that time to wait so ask to cancel the order and just get refund. "THEY DONT DO REFUNDS" so we pay for some food we didn't order and they didn't even give to us!! Ask to speak to a manager but apparently they're so busy they don't have time to speak. So spending $60 on food, $10 of it not received or ordered and then not even having the opportunity to speak to a manager?! This is absolutely ridiculous. Do not dine here because it's just a waste of your money. read more

We finally gave this place a try after living nearby for years and man I'm sad we waited for so long! It's a fairly typical breakfast but the food is pleasantly above average for the most part and service has been spot on. I've recently been getting the pumpkin waffle (a seasonal item) with their homemade sausage patties and scrambled eggs. The pumpkin waffle is amazing - it is served with delicious flavored butter and nuts and isn't overly sweet which is a breath of fresh air. They also always give me warmed syrup which makes a big difference. Their scrambled eggs seem like real eggs not the stuff from a carton like some places use and their sausage patties are really really good and not dry at all. Very tasty. My husband typically orders the fried chicken biscuit which comes with a sausage gravy and side of potatoes. It is certainly hearty and one of the better iterations of chicken biscuits we've come across in the area. I will say that one time I ordered a crab omelette and it was truly disgusting. The smell was so bad I couldn't get close enough to eat it. Revolting. Buuut if you stay away from the seafood we've been really impressed with everything else and it's loads better than other nearby breakfast places. I will say I'm not sure what I'll like there once the pumpkin waffle is gone but maybe there will be other less sweet waffles to try. read more

Online Reservation/waitlist vs walk in reservation/waitlist process at this location is unacceptable. I checked in as a party of 2 and was told the wait time was 60-90 minutes. After waiting the 60-90 minutes, I counted 6-11 empty tables. When we asked the manager how much longer and can we be seated in one of the many empty tables we were told they were empty because they were short staffed. There was a concert in town that they found out about at the last minute and did not plan for....that's unacceptable. The concert was advertised repeatedly on multiple media circuits for months. The city looks forward to theses events because of the revenue it brings in. This is my first time in this location and my first experiencing this type of wait time. The management needs coaching around what's going on in his market area and how to prepare. Never tell a customer you are short staffed as an excuse for your lack of preparedness. read more

Came here with my family for Mother's Day brunch and it was understandably packed. From what I've read the wait tends to be long but it's in a nice shopping plaza so we just walked around for a bit. We got in sooner than they originally told us and our server was very attentive to us, especially given that my party had two toddlers. Unfortunately they were out of the first cocktail I ordered (believe it was the sangria) so I got the pear drink. It was unnaturally strong though and I had to ask them to put more juice in it but it was still too strong for me so I gave it to my step mom who seemed to like it. As far as the food went, the potatoes you get were amazing!! I ordered the southwest scrambler and it was fairly bland. I liked making it into a burrito with the salsa though but I had to add too much salt and pepper to make it even feel seasoned. read more

Pretty good brunch place. Lots of interesting options. A little on the pricey side but the had several high end choices like lobster, shrimp and crawfish omelets. Several different eggs benedict choices, pancakes, Mardi Gras omelets. Big selection of mimosas and various bloody Mary's. Had the open face Reuben. Pretty delicious. Girlfriend had the hash skillet. Might as well on St. Patrick's day. Nice clean looking place. Seated immediately on Saturday at 12pm. Sunday's you will wait 30 to and hour. After reading other reviews I have agree that the problem here is how long it takes to get the food after the order. We sat outside which was with another couple. It took at least 30 minutes for the food to come. Longer for the other couple. Had this not been the case 4 stars. The bloody Mary's helped eased the pain! read more

Was it worth the wait? A drizzly early spring day with dropping 50f temps and thirty minutes to closed...and they were still packed. I ended up sitting in their outdoor patio for twenty minutes sipping on some coffee (20-year fresh Minnesota transplant, so the chill didn't bother me.) I started off with one of their signature items - the blackberry grits. The only negative I can mention is that I prefer my grits a little firmer - a very minor nit. They were fantastic. Fresh berries bursting with flavor. Next came the Floridian - a cream cheese and crab omelette. They have another winner with this one. Great flavor, lumps of crab, and a gentle taste that doesn't get in the way of it. Add in a side of their breakfast chorizo. I think it could be a tad spicier, but still quite good. Of note: their coffee. I expect great coffee from a breakfast restaurant. Theirs was pretty good. Will I come back? Absolutely. They're only a few small steps away from a 5/5 for me. read more
