Have been twice in the last month. Quaint but can be fairly busy Restaraunt. Short rib is pretty good, I like the lentils that the short rib is nestled upon. Only sat at bar each visit. The chairs are just a little I uncomfortable and has a standard TV playing....sports, commercial tv though, one star ding for lack of bar ambience creativity. Music overhead, Alt Rock which is good It's a nice Restaraunt, cozy, and chill atmosphere and the drinks are pretty good. Small menu, but that's usually a good thing. Would recommend making a reservation & parking can be a little tricky but a dose of patience and driving around to the back is a good idea. They have a back door entrance as well. Service was fantastic from the moment I walked through the doors. I came on a Sunday so it's pretty slow. I ordered a glass of prosecco and the kimchi fried rice with salmon. Loved the flavor of the food just a bit on the greasy side and not a whole lot of kimchi throughout the dish. Still great flavor and as always bubbles pair with everything. Came for dinner for the first time. I arrived at 5pm during their happy hour. I had three different cocktails and they were all unique and fabulous! We made a 6:30 reservation on a Friday about an hour prior, and they were happy to accommodate. The inside main room is an absolute vibe- dim lit and awesome decorations. We walked in and the bartenders greeted us with a smile while the hostess was seating another party (great start!). Started with the aftermac (mac and cheese app) and we finished it in about 5 minutes. 4 types of cheeses and baked crispy at the top- phenomenal! They have won multiple awards for readers vote "best burger in AZ" for both their Aftermath Burger as well as the Jalapeño bacon burger. We ordered both and truthfully couldn't tell you which one I liked more as they were both out of this world. The fries came with 3 sauces, and the Caesar salad was a great side as well. My wife and I were in town for spring training and we wanted a decent dinner near our airbnb in central Phoenix. Yelp led us to Aftermath and once again - Yelp came thru! The food was fantastic! It was so good we came back TWICE on our weekend in PHX. Wife had the roasted mushroom risotto with shrimp and I had the Aftermath burger (apparently this burger was voted best in the Valley!). Second time I had the short rib and my wife had the mac and cheese and wings. Both meals were delicious. My favorite was the burger and fries - haha! Honestly, I was not expecting much - it is a burger after all, how good could it be??? But - WHEW. Yeah. This burger was legit and I can absolutely see why this burger won an award for goodness sake! The frites steak fries were THE BEST FRIES I have had in years. Years. Do yourself a favor and get this plate. We finished our meal off with the bread pudding and this hit the spot. Highly recommend. Lastly, even though the food was awesome, we came back because of the amazing staff. Huge shout out to Gigi and the rest of the server team. We stopped by after leaving the airport. The restaurant is beautiful. We sat at the bar. They have happy hour from 4-6 on weekdays. And 2-6 on weekends (according to the chalk board). We started with the Mac and cheese as an appetizer and it was so creamy and yummy. We also had the wings (personally didn't love satay wings but they were prepared beautifully). I had the aftermath burger. This burger had an onion bun which added even more flavor to this delicious burger as well as house sauce that paired with the burger. The fries were nice and crispy. This time we were told that the do not do specials for larger parties. There were 8 of us. I do not really understand that decision. Ended up getting the lasagna with the egg on top. I've been coming to Aftermath over the last few years and have truly enjoyed the experiences. This review is based on a recent experience but long overdue in praise. Came this last week for a late dinner. Was greeted by the amazing Savanna working the bar. It nice to get a prompt hello and a glass of water as you are seated. Ordered a Manhattan which I was asked for my preference for bourbon which is always a comfort. Savanna shared the specials for the evening and I settled on the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The chili vodka sauce was that perfect blend sweet and spice that you'd expect from a scratch made sauce. While I have enjoyed the Mac and 'the Aftermath Burger' this was definitely a new add to the short list of go to's. While enjoying my rigatoni, I requested a fabulous glass of red (I failed to ask what it was) which was picked out by Savanna. It's bold flavors were a perfect complement to the sauce and what you'd look for with the acid of the sauce. I'll have to get its name next time. Before calling it a night, I was able to enjoy their epic Pretzel Bread Pudding. I requested a drink that would complement the pudding which I was handed a well crafted Paper Airplane (the drink). It was a great way to enjoy the sweet yet savory treat. Aftermath might sound familiar due to their incredible burger which lives up to the word of mouth. . It's a crave worthy burger, but don't let that limit yourself from enjoying the rest of their menu. The service has always been top notch. I found Aftermath on Yelp and it did not disappoint. The lasagna was heavenly. There was so much depth of flavor, and a subtle heat that really enhanced the dish. The noodles are made in house and the heartiness was perfect. The Caesar salad was nice and light and dressed with a house made avocado parmesan dressing. The dessert was so unique and so rich with flavor. That was a pretzel brioche bread pudding with house made vanilla ice cream and salted bourbon caramel sauce. I saw a video online saying that the Aftermath Burger was voted best in AZ so I definitely had to try it. The burger is good, but I probably won't say that it's best in AZ. We recently tried the Yuzu, and oOoOO la la!! On the flip side, the charred brussel sprouts were not what I expected. The sprouts were good, but why call a dish brussel sprouts when most of it consists of rice?!?!?! If I want rice, I'd order rice! I hope they change up the dish and give u only brussel sprouts! The other dish that I don't recommend is the mussels. It tasted just like the sea! I know I'm getting SEAfood, but I don't want or need my food tasting exactly like the sea.
