Gosh where do I start? Well my friends have been raving about this place for quite some time so we decided to visit on a Thursday at 5pm, we had reservations and sat at a booth. Our server Allyn was absolutely awesome and if this review was about just our server, it would be a full 5 stars. However, the manger Alisha was absolutely terrible. Alisha could learn a thing or two on great customer service from Allyn. We all ordered kimchi fried rice, if took a long time to get to our table which is fine cause that means it's really cooked fresh. The menu said that it came with a fried egg and my friend ordered an extra egg. When it came to the table, the egg was definitely sunny side up, not fried at all. When the manager walked by, we flagged to let her know so that we could scrape the runny egg off of the plate to get the fried one. The egg broke on the rice and it was gross and my friend does not eat running egg like that. The manager looked annoyed and said she would ask to get a new plate. We waited for 10 mins and the plate came back... and guess what, the manager only asked for the fried egg and put it back on the same plate on top of the runny egg yolk. And didn't even apologize. She dropped it at the table and left. Allyn came by and we let her know what happened and she was so kind to apologize and said that they will remake it entirely and it will be on the house. When the new dish came, it was perfect, thanks to Allyn. Then we ordered dessert.... The manager Alisha came by the table and just dropped it again. No customer service like "enjoy" or "is there anything else I can get you?" Honestly if she didn't want to work that day, she should have just stayed home. If it weren't for Allyn, this review would have been a 1 star cause Alisha was terrible. Thanks to Allyn for saving the meal and the experience! I just love Aftermath! I think it's one of the best date night spots in Phoenix. Allyn is the best server there! The burger is always a must and the ceasar salad with chicken is one of my favorites. This was my 3rd time at Aftermath, and each time has been a very different experience. The first time was with the large birthday party. The service was good, and the food was great; we especially enjoyed the wings! The 2nd time, just my hubby and I came in and sat at the bar. The service was great! The food was great. The 3rd time, myself and two of my girlfriends came in, and it was a lot different. It took 20 minutes to just take our drink order, about another 30 minutes to get our food, and after about two hours, we had to ask for our checks. It then took the server like 15-20 minutes to come back with our checks. We all just paid, and after I got home, I looked at my receipt and noticed I was charged $19 for the salad and fries and $7 for the drink. Lemonade is made in house, the rigatoni alla vodka was out of this world, and the burger was solid. I'll be honest, the Brussels sprouts are extremely overpriced and were not worth it, the flavors didn't work. The kimchi fried rice was solid, the Mac n cheese was delicious, and the wings were really good as well. The Caesar salad was also delicious. Aftermath is one of our favorite happy hour spot in the valley. We never fail to order the smoked wings every single time, they are honestly the best I have ever had. The famous award-winning After Math burger is a must try of course, although I recommend to ordering it with a double patty (they are smash burger style) for the best bun to meat ratio. All the food is fresh and delicious. We LOVE their beef tallow fries and that the restaurant doesn't use seed oils. It's an overall good quality spot with an elevated feel that isn't flashy. I got a chance to stop in for dinner on a weekend. This place has a great ambiance with an open style restaurant that has two big rooms. A mix of tables, booths, and outside section with two big glass garage door style walls. During dinner times the lighting is dim and sets a good mood. During dinner I got a chance to eat chicken wings, charred Brussels sprouts, aftermac and cheese, chicken el pastor, and pretzel bread pudding desert. All the food came out with great representation (like food art) and it was all very good. Our weightless was friendly and knowledgeable but seemed rushed, the food also took a bit long from order to table. We have been twice now and the verdict is the same. Great bartending! Beautiful dining room. Scrumptious food. The smoked old fashioned is excellent and is made with perfectly clear cubes. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The location is in a strip mall with limited parking in front of the business; however, they do offer parking around the side & back. Upon entering, the interior as dimly lit in the main area and dining area with a decent size bar. It appears to have a small patio, but I cannot confirm that. They also have side dining area with several booths and tables, which they pulled together for us and was a little better for lighting. Our server, Sean D was friendly and professional and from what I could tell, quick to get drink orders filled. I opted for the Cesar salad and added on grilled shrimp. Our orders came fairly quickly and our server received assistance from other staff members helping out with the delivery of our food. My Cesar salad was good and I like the touch of fried capers. The shrimp were jumbo sized, seasoned and cooked properly. The food and generally the staff were great. While they appear to be set up to service a gathering well, they were not so willing to accommodate us with bringing in our own cake for the celebration. While I understand their hesitation and policy; they were only willing to allow us to serve the cake for a fee of $25.00, which was disappointing. But it what it is and we opted to go back to the house and have the cake. Still would recommend them for their food and meal service. read more

The place has a lively bar area with sports on the screens, but we were a bit underdressed in our baseball shirts and shorts. The vibe definitely leaned more towards smart-casual, so next time, we'd probably opt for something a little more polished to fit in - though we felt comfortable nevertheless. There was good parking in the back of the restaurant - the front was filled up. The service was incredible here - the host and our server both offered excellent service, regularly making sure that we had everything and our waters were always filled. We were seated very quickly and our burger also arrived quickly. The burger itself was outstanding: it was incredibly large (I had to eat it with a knife and fork) and the flavor was incredible. The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection, while the sauce complemented everything well. Even the bun stood out: the soft, perfectly toasted texture was delicious enough to enjoy on its own. I came here recently with a few people for dinner. We had a reservation with a few last minute cancels. The restaurant was kind to accommodate - not forcing us to a smaller table. I looked ahead of time to see that Aftermath had won some local awards for their burger, so that's what I zeroed in on for dinner. It's a cute small shop that's got chill, intimate vibes. Parking is in the back, and you can enter from either the lot or off Bethany Home. All the times I've been in the area I've never noticed this spot! Our server was super nice to let us take time to chat and peruse the menu, all the while I low/key dropped news about their burger. So three of us ordered it and had no regrets - lots of flavors, not too messy. The side sauces for fries were solid - but my clear winner was ranch #MidwesternAtHeart. There's other good things on the menu that sounded good, but that will be for another day. We ended our meal with scribbling notes in the small notebook that accompanies the check - giving patrons a chance to leave their mark at Aftermath. read more

Caught the tail end of Happy Hour with a girlfriend on a Friday afternoon. The ambiance feels like elevated sports bar vibes-- with sports on the TVs at the bar, but plenty of regular seating to enjoy the company of the people you're with. We were able to get our drinks at HH price, which I believe was $3-$4 off regular pricing. My friend and I opted to share everything and went for the Aftermatch burger and Caesar salad with chicken. The burger was gooey and delicious because of the velveeta cheese and paired nicely with the onion bun. I appreciated that they provided 3 dipping sauces for both our fries and tots! All sauces were delicious and didn't have to skimp on our dunking :) What I really appreciated was the Caesar-- particularly the grilled chicken! We came here Sunday evening for dinner with reservations @6pm, I requested a booth on OpenTable & upon entering the host immediately greeted me by name...said he had a booth waiting for us! The Aftermac I was really looking forward to because it's such a splurge for me but to me it seemed a bit dry, it wasn't the creamy, oozing, cheesy, macaroni that I was so hoping for... yes it was still good just not what I expected! For our entrees I had the Baby Gem Salad with Salmon, everything about the salad was delicious.... the cucumber relish on the gem leaves was so good that I ended up not even using any dressing & the Salmon with the crispy skin was perfectly cooked! As for my husband, he had zero complaints with his Aftermath Burger sub with Muenster no red onions. We decided on the Key Lime Bar for desert with an espresso martini & double shot espresso... being from Florida we are definite key lime fans & if we see it on a menu, that's it the decision is made! I apologize I was slow on the picture taking of the desert, lol because the weight of the crust on the cream started to collapse the desert but don't judge because if you love key lime like we do then you must try this desert....the crust held together so well with the butter yet not brittle falling apart & as for the creaminess of the key lime, well it was perfectly balanced with no complaints.... So the Key Lime Bar was just an amazing end to our meal! The Aftermath is a great restaurant that has a nice menu selection that does seem to change often but they offer a good variety to choose from! We had great service from Charis from beginning to end & we never had to hunt her down or eat around dirty plates... those are my two huge pet peeves that really take away from a tip!! Let's start with our server Kamryn! She was AMAZING. Super knowledgeable girl with tons of energy and love to spread around. The wine was tasty (got the Malbec), the warm olives app was yummy, short rib was delicious and mushroom risotto was next level. Will definitely be back here. Been meaning to try Aftermath for a while now and finally made it happen. Not sure why it took so long. First, park in the back. It's much easier than trying to finagle the lot out front. We arrived shortly after they opened at 4pm and had the place practically to ourselves. Grace immediately seated us on the small patio, which was nice and we had our choice of tables at that time. The menu is not huge, but it did have some great choices. And their happy hour menu was good too. We decided we had to try the Kimchi fried rice and we cleaned the plate. It was really good. After much debate, hubby decided to go with the rigatoni alla vodka, and I had the Aftermath Burger (during Happy Hour you can get it with a single patty for just $10). The rice was fantastic. As I said, we cleaned the plate. You could honestly make it a meal for one. Hubby decided not to stuff himself and brought some home for lunch the next day. And because it was a bit spicy, we ordered the bread service as well. He avoided the chili butter but I tasted a bit of it. The burger, which I've heard some say is the best burger in Phoenix, was really good but I'm not ready to bestow the title of Best on it just yet. I've still got more to try. I didn't get any sides because the rice and the. The burger made a full meal. But...I had to try the Pretzel Bread Pudding with the bacon snow. I don't recommend eating the "snow" on its own as it tasted like straight up bacon grease, but in a bite with the ice cream and bread pudding, it was excellent, giving just a hint of bacon flavor. Great service and nice atmosphere! A little dark and quiet so didn't feel totally free to speak as loud as I do but I'm a yapper. Some thing to note is I went for restaurant week specifically and split the dishes, so it makes sense that the portions were a little too lacking for me. Still, for 55 dollars per person, I have high expectations for sizing. It's more expensive than I usually go. I prefer sweeter cocktails and she said the Luau (I didn't get a pic) was the sweetest they had. It wasn't quite sweet enough for my taste, and a very small amount for the price. I'm always a little disappointed when fancier restaurants do not come with unlimited bread and butter. It speaks to class for me. The Caesar was very good, I love the house made dressing, croutons, fried capers is a nice touch with the beautifully shaved Parmesan. The Scottish Salmon had a delicious fried piece of skin on top, but it was not especially filling, pretty good! The Key Lime Bar was great! The pics make it look a lot bigger than it is, I wish it had more, but it had a great balance of sweet and tart, the crust was a little hard but a great crunchy texture. Overall, I had a good time! The Mac and cheese was a real stand out as were the oysters which were super fresh and just perfect. The jalapeño burger hit the spot and my friends loved the meatloaf.
