    10. 干煸四季豆 / Stir-fried String Beans with Pork

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in San Jose! I find that I usually have to go to Cupertino or Milpitas for good Chinese food, but glad to have found a spot in San Jose I'd say that the stir fried beans and fish fillet were cooked perfectly! Not too sweet, not too salty, and savory enough for you to keep eating it. I will admit that the spicy pork ear was A LOT sweeter than I expected, and the sugar(?) wasn't completely dissolved so you'd bite into some of it (although they were really small pieces). We came around their closing time, so they weren't very busy. The server was very nice and the food came out quick as well! I thought it was pretty cool that they had an open kitchen concept, so you're able to see the chef cook and smell what you ordered from where you're sitting haha

Very tasty spicy szchuan food. Chicken and fish were both awesome. Fast service. Highly recommended.

Food is five stars! Friendly service. Family run. Sweet & sour pork is my favorite here. They took one of the bones out of the chicken wings so they look small. Mapo tofu, spicy chicken, beef chow mein, and salt & pepper pork ribs have lots of flavor. Great chef. My two kids will eat it all. No leftovers. Their food is just that good. There's not a lot of ambiance but at least we don't have to do dishes.

    Mapo tofu. Delicious.

Still my favorite Chinese restaurant in the South Bay. I love the mapo tofu and Mongolian beef. Very friendly staff. Delicious food.

High quality food. Great service. It looks like a family-owned restaurant that takes pride in the food, cares about their customers and don't need to be asked more than once for something. Bathroom was clean -- thank you -- that makes a difference. There were 8 of us and we had our dinner on Christmas. Everything was fresh and delicious. Ordering was easy because we could order from scanning a QR code at the table and the food was promptly served. Price was reasonable. We also had leftovers. The servers surprised us with fortune cookies, refilled our tea and then handed us each a Christmas gift. Wow--thank you. :)

Accidental discovery. Amazing host and wonderful food. Had lunch with the family, they loved all the dishes. We plan to go back for the dishes that need to be preordered.

Most of the dishes we ordered that came with a sauce are pretty sweet. And so is the owner! It was really windy and the door was kept open so we were shivering a bit. We didn't say anything since we figured they left the door open to air out the cooking smoke or something but the owner immediately came by, asked if we were cold, and quickly closed the door. 1. Battered pork tenderloin - a little dry on the inside, presumably since tenderloin is a leaner meat. The battered shell on the outside is the smooth type so it was only slightly crispy. It came with a delicious spiced powder on the side to dip. 2. Stir-fried beef with cumin - very tasty but the meat was also kind of chewy unfortunately. We noticed they were marinating meat slices in the back so at least it's freshly made. 3. Kung Pao tofu Pretty standard and came with tofu, peanuts, and zucchini. 4. Vegetable chow mein - the soy-sauce based sauce on this was pretty sweet but the noodles were the perfect texture, smooth and slightly chewy. 5. We were also handed a complimentary side of julienned carrots and potato and told we could refill it on the table nearby - this was delicious and savory with hints of vinegar and possibly garlic

    Egg fried rice- delicious!

True to their name the restaurant is essentially a large open kitchen with a few homestyle dining tables. We got - Egg fried rice- 5/5- hot off the stove and served piping hot, this was a moist, delicious plate of almost perfect fried rice. Chilli chicken-5/5- I love the sichuanese style chicken chilli. The version here was perfect, not too numbing hot to desensitize, just the right amount to tingle and tantalize the senses. The chicken was perfectly cooked as well. This is easily one of the better versions I have had in a long time. Chowmein-3/5- the sauce did not cling onto the noodles and there was sauce pool at the bottom of the plate. Since we were the only customers at that time, I took the liberty of asking them to reduce it down and hopefully leave a char on the noodles. The lady helping us obliged and came back a few minutes later. This version was better but it still needed work. She told me the next time I can request it the way I want before hand as different customers have different preferences. Anyway, out of the 3 dishes we ordered this is the only one I was not impressed by. The 3 dishes came upto $60 for two of us. Very expensive for a restaurant which is not fine dining.

Absolutely loved our dining experience here! My friend and I shared mapo tofu, string beans, and a fish soup and all the dishes were incredible. I'd highly recommend the string beans and mapo tofu - must get items. Food came out hot and were wonderfully tasty. I believe there's also a side table where you could get your own edamame and seaweed salad? Also a certain dessert was provided at the table from what I remember. The owner and workers were incredibly kind to us, checking up on how we were enjoying the food. Overall 5/5, will definitely come again!

I love how you can watch the chefs cook your food in the woks in their "open" kitchen. The only downside is I smelled pretty smoky afterwards. I stopped by in a group of 2 on a Saturday night for a small dinner. It wasn't too crowded inside with many free tables, although there were many people who picked up delivery/takeout orders during my meal. We got the mapo tofu ($13.99), stir-fried string beans with pork ($15.99), and a bowl of rice each ($2/ea). The mapo tofu came on this sizzling plate that kept it hot the whole time! The tender pieces of tofu were swimming in a savory sauce that had a numbing kick. The pieces of pork in this dish were pretty small and added some umami flavor to the dish, but the tofu was the star of the show. I am glad we ordered rice to soak up all the tasty sauce! The stir-fried string beans had a lot of peppery flavor and were nicely blistered on the surface. Although the string beans were glistening on the surface they did not feel or taste too greasy. The pork in this dish was saltier than in the mapo tofu and at times was a bit too salty for me. I wouldn't have minded the dish without the pork and might even try ordering it without pork next time. The servers are kind and attentive. The seating area is not the fanciest but this is a great spot for a casual and tasty meal!

What keeps us coming back is how well they balance heat and flavor. The spice here never feels like a stunt -- it builds alongside real depth and seasoning. The Qiao Jiao Niu Rou (跷脚牛肉) is a standout -- a Sichuan-style boiled beef dish served in a rich, aromatic broth that somehow lands the spice-to-savory ratio perfectly every time. The Shui Zhu Yu (水煮鱼) is also worth ordering; the fish is decent quality, silky in texture, and the numbing chili oil broth does its job well. The restaurant ambient environment is ok and does get crowded often, but honestly that's just a symptom of being good - this place has built a real following in the South Bay. The Orchard Farms lot outside gives you plenty of parking, which takes some of the stress off a busy weekend dinner. One thing to flag: they now auto-include an 18% gratuity on the bill by default, so keep that in mind when you're reviewing the final check. It's easy to miss and double-tip if you're not paying attention. Factor it into your budget upfront and you'll have no surprises.

The sautéed lotus root with chili peppers were flavorful, mildly spicy, and has the best texture from the lotus root. Most people come here for the Spicy Chicken. This is a very forward spice but it's very addicting. Don't forget to order a side of steamed rice to help offset the spice! The house special fried noodles were surprisingly flavorful and well balanced. I'd order this dish again. It uses the same chili peppers that the spicy chicken has.
