We absolutely love coming here we brought my dad and brother and we were greeted with so much love and we appreciate all the staff here Tina was our server she's the absolutely amazing person ever we really feel welcomed and at home everytime we come here the food is so delicious Today we had shrimp, fried rice, walnut, shrimp, sesame, chicken, sizzling, rice soup, and we had the appetizer platter which was so much food for us. It was delicious. They are more than generous with their portions of food. We always have a bunch to take home. Will be back soon, friends thank you again for hosting us. The ambience was amazing and calm.

Friendly and extremely quick service! We got here right when they opened and were seated immediately. Their lunch specials are unbeatable and very generous in portion (two meals). The fried rice is a little on the plain side but complements the meat entree. We tried both the sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken, really crispy and saucy. The hot and sour soup is delicious and peppery. I love that they give you hot tea also. We've also gotten takeout from here and their regular menu items (jajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, etc) and it hits every time!

I always measure the quality of a Chinese restaurant by their hot and sour soup. Tsing Tao hits it out of the park. Don't be put off by the item prices because the servings are large. Plan to have leftovers.

Qingdao Restaurant always uses the largest boxes for takeout, and the portions are always larger than those from other restaurants. Other restaurants may seem cheaper, but their portions are very small. Qingdao Restaurant uses a 32 oz box, while other restaurants use a 26 oz box. After trying so many restaurants, I still like Qingdao's food the most. It's delicious and of high quality, and it's an old establishment. I recommend Qingdao Restaurant

I had to bring a friend to Los Gatos today and I was starving after. I was craving some Chinese food, so I checked help. It showed Tsing Tao was close and had 4 stars. I figured I'd give it a try. Waking in there was a mix of customers. There were a few Asian people, so I was hopeful it would be good. My dad always good me "If you go to an ethnic restaurant and it has its own people eating, then it should be good." They brought me out tea and a small plate of kimchi. This was done of the best kimchi I've ever had. I figured it had to be home made and fresh. The cabbage was still crisp, not soggy and everything tastes fresh. I asked one of the servers and she confirmed it was homemade. The hot and sour soup was very good as well. I ordered the beef and broccoli with chow mein lunch plate. The beef and broccoli was cooked perfectly ! The brocoli was al dented and hot as it should be. The meat was tender and flavorful. The chow mein was very good as well for just being vegetable chow mein. It was very flavourful as well. I was very impressed with Tsing Tao restaurant. It's a bit pricier than what I'm used to, but it was very delicious. Plus I figured I'm in Los Gatos, so I'm sure rent it more expensive. If I'm in the area, I'll come eat here again !!

The food was fantastic! The service was great!! We'll definitely be going again. Loved the noodles, eggplant, seafood and veggies.

Overpriced and decent, I ordered six plates and none of the boxes were properly sealed, and they put the small box on the bottom .all of the food leaked, never going back

The food was really good and very generous portions, the service was amazing, as soon as we sat we were given a tea kettle and homemade kimchee that was truly one of the best I've had. I wanted an order of it to go, maybe next time, I was so full. My only critique is that I wish they had single person dinner plates. My aunt and I had dinner and we wanted to try more but the portions for a single dish were huge , we couldn't finish it. It was very much family style portions which would have been fine if it wasn't just the two of us. As you can see from the photo the food was beautiful. The restaurant itself was bright, airy, and tidy. We will be back to try the lunch plates for sure!

Tsing Tao at 15525 Los Gatos Blvd, Ste D, Los Gatos, CA 95032 is a business that relocated from Campbell, CA. This is a brand new store with major upgrades from the old location. Freshly painted walls, great lighting and new flooring. Restaurant was spotlessly clean. The service was excellent, everyone worked as a team. One thing I really liked was the insulated mugs, which kept the drink ice cold. I feel the food is much better than the old location. The sweet and sour pork was fabulous! Tender, lightly battered, with pineapple, and other items. I like the fried rice, although a bit different than other restaurants. Not greasy and very tasty with lots of scrambled eggs in it. Of course, you can't beat the egg rolls or the hot and sour soup. I saw other dishes being delivered, everything looked marvelous! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!

Now, THOSE are proper Honey Walnut Prawns! Best in the South Bay!

Another amazing meal at Tsing Tao, this time for family-style lunch on a Sunday. Delicious food and great service, once again!

I loved them in Campbell and I still love them in their new location in Los Gatos. Tsing Tao has been a staple in my life for 30 years. I live in Campbell and their original location was literally around the corner. So when they closed, I was heartbroken. Their wonton soup cures all things when I'm sick and those cream cheese, Rangoon wontons are killer! Thankfully I work in LG and even if I didn't, it's not terribly far away. The new location is easy to get to, clean and modern, and even more importantly, friendly, warm and still delicious! Popped in yesterday for some chicken salad and BOOM!! Huge portions ... tender and tasty chicken and that sauce is omg good. LG, I hope you love Tsing Tao as much as I do.

I grew up eating at Tsing Tao at their Campbell location, but over more recent years, I noticed their food didn't taste the same. As the new location is near home, decided to give it a try on a early Sunday evening. It's new so it's clean and inviting, but we were the only diners for awhile. Ordered Korean Chinese dishes, a kung pao like fried squid and jjamp bong which is a hot seafood noodle soup dish. The food came out pretty quickly and their portions are still really big. The squid dish was not what I expected...at other Chinese restaurants the squid is long pieces, and not circle calamari like pieces. The sauce was overwhelmingly too sweet for me. The jjamp bong, they say the noodles are made in house, but it had a weird taste to me and my mom. The soup was not good either, which I was really hoping for because I was at a tail end of a cold. It is packed with ingredients, but all in all, I don't think I'd be back unless I try more typical dishes like Mongolian Beef or Kung Pao Chicken.

    Szechuan Beef

I've been to China several times and actually to the province popular for Szechuan spice. I know am in US and that too in Los Gatos but was hoping will atleast get some semblance of the original flavor/spice, that tingly spice sensation. This food tastes so terrible- it was basically like Panda's orange chicken but worse. Very sweet, beef was soggy/too much bready and none of the Szechuan pepper.

Ask the Community - Tsing Tao

Are their noodle soups for sharing, or for individual portions?

If you're making the soup your whole meal, don't share! I'm a little piggie and I can eat the whole bowl in one sitting by myself. So Yummy!

We were very fond of the recently closed Yeung Shing. How does Tsing Tso compare? Especially the potstickers and the House Special Chow fun.

    The potstickers are excellent!

Does anyone know if they sell their delicious kimchi to go, in larger portions? UPDATE: I just drove down there and was able to buy a medium-sized container of kimchi to go…

Hmm that's a great question. I'd love to know as well, I'll have to ask them next time I'm there.

Is this restaurant affiliated with the Tsing Tao that's been in Campbell for decades ? Thanks kindly !!!

Yes, this is the same Tsing Tao that used to be in shopping plaza with the old DJ Hobby. They moved locations, same great food and service.

I had just been to a new-to-me one that had micro chicken bits coated in mega thick batter, and I was still smarting from that experience. But I overcame my fear of a repeat experience and ordered the Orange Chicken lunch special. What a difference! This place is really really good! You can see the included chicken salad is put together with care and multiple ingredients: shredded chicken, fried won ton skin, almonds, nice dressing. Impressed. My chicken came and big pieces! You bite into one and it's substantial white breast meat - wow, nice! I'm just too used to biting into battered chicken or pork and feeling like other places used junk bits hiding within the batter and sauce. But Taba Taba uses quality meat and a more sophisticated orange peel sauce. You can see/find the dried orange peel within the sauce which gives it a more complex flavor. I really liked it. The chow mein was good too - not oily at all. The service was friendly and great too. The woman who served us was friendly and really really attentive to all tables, looking around to see what was needed, making sure everyone was doing OK, whether water needed to be refilled, picking up the check as soon as the credit card was put down on the check. A real care factor above and beyond what you normally find. She chatted with my wife too for a bit on our way out - friendly and warm. I usually don't make a point of saying, "The food is really good here", but I felt compelled to. I know that Chinese food restaurants, the vast majority, do cater to American tastes, so the food isn't strictly "authentic" - just a reality of who the audience is. But even so, this was done at an elevated level that satisfies the American taste, while adding some richness/subtlety to the flavors that makes it better than your typical Chinese restaurant. I'd be very happy to come here again. I talked a lot about the food and service, but the decor was also nice - pretty typical, nothing outstanding in this regard, but the food and service are so much more important to me anyway, and those were definitely strong points of Taba Taba.

We felt lucky to find an empty spot in their parking lot, which was shared with Willow Street Pizza. The restaurant wasn't too busy. Typical Chinese restaurant ambience but with dimmed lights. It was more catered for non-Chinese customers, with forks on the table. No problem asking for chopsticks, as expected. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered Lunch Combo A: Honey Walnut Prawns with Chow Mein. The hot & sour soup included with the lunch was delicious and not too spicy. It's perfect after adding some white pepper. The chicken salad was fresh, crunchy, and delightful. It's a much better and healthier alternative to spring rolls usually included in lunch specials at other Chinese restaurants. The chow mein was not oily nor salty at all, and had quite a bit of vegetables. It paired really well with the honey walnut prawns, which was prepared really well. There're 8 large, flavorful and juicy prawns, and a handful of candied walnuts. My husband enjoyed his orange chicken lunch combo as well. I tried a piece of his chicken, and it was scrumptious, with a light batter and yummy sauce. We ended our meal with the classic fortune cookies. I was surprised by how well executed and tasty the food was. Comparing to the lunch specials at Tsing Tao, which we tried recently, we both preferred the ones at Taba Taba. They do charge $1 per person for hot tea at Taba Taba, though.

Pig ears were pretty good but sliced super thin.. thinner than the onions..
