Eggplant w/Salted Fish & Chicken Clay Pot
Lloyd C.

My family ordered some takeout from Big Fish Chinese Cafe. Pan-Fried Pork Buns - this was the bready doughy kind. Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun: Stir-fried flat rice noodles with tender beef strips, bean sprouts, and green onions in a savory soy-based sauce. Family Style Tofu: Pan-fried tofu with broccoli, carrots, zucchini, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms in a light sauce. Eggplant with Salted Fish & Chicken Clay Pot: Eggplant, salted fish, and chicken cooked together in a clay pot, typically seasoned with ginger and soy sauce. This was my favorite of all the dishes. Also, we ordered the Organic Tofu sauteed with Vegetables, Stir Fried Bok Choy, Hot & Sour Soup (perfect amount of sour), and Peking Spare Ribs. All the food was decent but nothing stood out. Overall, 3.5 stars.

Combination fried rice, and beef chow fun (via takeout)

Personally love this place. We were totally bummed when Taste of China closed down, and then when that other place went in...they didn't quite match up. It's not the most extravagant of Chinese places, but it's cozy, with great portions, and simple food. They're always super friendly when we dine in, and I've never had an issue with ordering delivery.

21. Korean Seafood Combo

This review is a bit overdue from 3 weeks ago. The dishes we ordered were all delicious and quite a generous serving. seafood combo, wontons in red pepper oil, and Szechuan Beef. Very clean and nice restaurant setting.

Mongolian Beef

Mongolian beef was very flavorful & jjamppong (Korean spicy noodle soup with seafood beef & veggies) had a nice spicy kick & good amount of seafood & beef! Also their eggrolls (which we were told are handmade in house) were very crispy! Service was quick and friendly, and ambiance was nice as well.

03. Mongolian Beef.. it was not very spicy as I requested it...

Here is my two cents on the quality quantities and price of my order. It was delivered by GrubHub quickly and early on time.. they did an excellent job for delivery... I ordered Mongolian beef extra spicy with hot pepper sauce, and soy sauce on the side . Plus I request requested utensils I also request requested and had to buy rice . Let's start with the good stuff... I think it was reasonably priced because they gave lots of beef in the dish, and the beef was very tender... There was equally good amount of green peppers and onions ... Now what I was not happy about. I requested utensils. I also requested hot sauce and soy sauce on the side..I DID NOT GET THEM!! I requested to have my Mongolian beef extra spicy ... .. It was not . I did find 4 dried peppers in the meal, but no seeds came out of them, so the dish was actually very plain.. I thought the dish itself and the quantity was very good! to make sure it's spicy or I have hot sauce on the side made me a unhappy trooper's. .. I definitely would come back to give them a second try but on this order, I was unhappy trooper .

17. Sizzling Seafood with Vegetables
Julie S.

My husband and I tried out one of our local Chinese restaurant. We had stir fry string beans and sizzling seafood with vegetables. The seafood dish was not sizzling but had good flavor. String beans very flavorful. Restaurant is nice and bright, clean. Service was good. Will go back and try other dishes.

So this use to be Taste of China for the longest time and so I was very unmotivated to try this new place but tonight I was pleasantly surprised. The owner is such a nice person and so very accommodating. We are all vegetarian and my dad has very specific diet needs and the kitchen was so nice to accommodate us. We ordered various dishes without meat, sub tofu, no garlic and everything still turned out very delicious. It's nice and spacious inside and well lit. They have wonderful lunch specials and also some Chinese items that you're not able to find in south San Jose. Service is a little slow but I think we all know that all restaurants are dealing with staff shortages. So let's all be patient, enjoy each other's company and conversation. And the food. :) Saw a ton of to go business so the locals must really enjoy the take from here. Support your local Chinese small business!!!

03. Pork Fried Rice

This place is expensive. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and my fiance and I decided to come for dinner as it was too hot to cook. We ordered Hot and Sour Soup (2/5; too cornstarchy), Pork Fried Rice (3/5; nothing special and you can tell they used frozen peas and carrots), Beef Chow Mein (1/5, would NOT recommend as it was extremely bland), and Kung Pao Chicken (2/5, too saucy and the flavor was not on point). I will not be retuning as the food was extremely bland. I was shocked when I got the bill - $85 for 2 people. This place is not good bang for your buck or palette. You're honestly better off going to Panda Express for a fraction of the price. Tables need to cleaned better as the pepper and chilli sambal from the condiments tray was extremely sticky. Gross. Service is fine. The male server (owner?) is friendly enough and seems to be the only server. Plenty of parking as it's located in a strip mall anchored by the Safeway.

Korean Seafood noodle soup (aka Champon). A must have

Seated right away when we made a dinner reservation on a weekend. The outdoor patio dining is lovely and quaint. Service was fine for brunch but terrible for dinner. Our server didn't come back after delivering our entrees for over an hour. Also a little sus that both times they didn't have the protein that was written on the menu. I ordered the duck for breakfast and they substituted with pork. I ordered the halibut for dinner and they substituted for cod and charged me for a salmon...They were also already out of the short rib and one other entree on a Saturday early dinner service around 5 pm. Not sure what is going on here that they are running out of proteins so early in the weekend. The food for brunch and dinner are both good, a little pricey. We started with the deviled eggs. I ordered the halibut that was substituted with a cod served over forbidden rice and a side of broccoli. The fish was cooked well and the vegetables were also cooked perfectly, very buttery and delicious. My husband ordered the scallop risotto that was also cooked perfectly. Comes with three hefty scallops. Risotto was also a perfect cook. Come back for the atmosphere, maybe grab a nice latte or coffee beverage, but not sure we'll be back for a substantial meal.

The drunken noodles and fried rice are always packed with flavor, and the fresh spring rolls are such a refreshing starter. Maybe they toned it down a bit... or maybe we were braver last time We also ordered the Khao Soi, which was pretty decent. Fewer sides compared to some other places, but still really tasty overall. There was about 20 of us and what they ended up doing was dividing us into 4 groups to prep/cook the different meal courses. It was nice because we didn't have to completely cook this dishes. We did prep a lot of the food, for example I was part of the first group and ended up chopping/mise en place the ingredients for the bruschetta appetizer. They were very nice, telling us to prep/cut "how ever we wanted to do it," but weren't hesitant to provide guidance when we asked for specifics. The food had great flavor, with the main dishes having 4 different proteins. We had so much food, that we ended up being able to take food home. Overall a great experience.

That restaurant has closed and has reopened on Camden, Campbell, CA, where Dickey's BBQ use to be. From what the manager tells me, this is a big upgrade from the prior place, which was primarily a take out. There has been a lot of remodeling. Although the focus is take out, you can certainly enjoy a meal at the restaurant. It is primarily you order, pay, sit down and the food is brought to you. However, since not everything was operational, I was served by the manager. I had OUTSTANDING service and encouraged them to provide table service for people eating there. Now for the food: Rice, Beans, Plantains, Steak, Chicken, Vegetables and of course the Cheese Cake was fabulous. (I also took some food home to my wife). The kitchen area is right by the tables so you see the Executive Chef prepare the food. (I knew who he was from the picture outside by the door). He was very friendly and answered questions about how the food was prepared. He emphasized that the secret to great food is quality and fresh ingredients. This is a great looking, very clean restaurant with a friendly staff. They can handle event catering for large groups WITH a great looking food truck available. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Latin-Asian-Fusion in Campbell, CA.
