Fried rice, Mongolian beef, Hunan chicken

Great personal service. Party of two, seated right away. The restaurant smelled wonderful with Mongolian beef and other smells. Ordered tea, soda, Hunan chicken, Mongolian beef, and beef fried rice. Should have gotten a soup too - next time. The dishes were plentiful and delicious. The soda was refilled like three times. Our waitress was really attentive. The staff started cleaning and mopping 15 minutes before closing time so we got out of the way. Luckily we were done eating and just chit chatting by then.

Found this hidden gem and obsessed with their food. Many Chinese restaurants to choose from in the bay, but this is a must. From their friendly warm staff, greeting you to their delicious fresh authentic food. I want to order one of everything it's so amazing. Will be a forever customer worth the 30 min drive

I don't care how good the food is. I called, was put on hold for 15 minutes. Called back, lady said, "Mandarin House, can you hold?" I stopped her to say, "I've been on hold for 15 minutes, are you too busy to take an order?" Then she puts me on hold again. Never mind then. I don't need to eat here.

Very nice place for American Chinese food. We ordered Changsa chicken, Fish with black bean sauce and chicken chow mein. Food came pretty fast and was piping hot. Great flavors. Helpings are good size, you'll likely have leftovers. Good service. Plenty of parking in the mall

I am happpy to have discovered this place as the food is really good but a bit disappointed as this place could really use some organization to make it look esthetic inviting. We went there after the farmers market at the Princeton plaza and honestly almost thought would not eat here as the place looked so disorganized with lots of restaurants goods lying around. Seriously people, we should clean those up to Make the place more inviting for people who care about the ambiance. Now talking about the food and service was a different story, our server was Kevin and he was very informative and patient with our order! Our food: house fried rice, vegetable noodles and stir fry string beans were super delicious. Now I want to try other dishes soon but unless they clean up the place it will be mostly takeout for me when I want to eat at home!

Excellent food and service. Have eaten there several times. The only bad comment is there closed Monday. The ladies there take care of you.

Came here with family to celebrate a birthday. What we tried: eggplant with shredded pork claypot (3/5) -- eggplant was a bit overcooked and the sauce was overpowering orange chicken (4/5) -- sweeter than average, super crispy battered chicken but more batter than chicken. A little bit of a kick and easy to eat by everyone. beef broccoli (4/5) -- tender meat, big portion and solid flavor peking pork chops (3/5) -- too sweet for peking sauce..maybe too much ketchup and the pork was soggy beef chow fun (3/5) -- the fun was a little too soft for my liking so it kind of felt like overcooked? And the sauce was super strong for me The quality of ingredients is good, but flavors a bit off for me. I would be willing to try more dishes of theirs

An update! I want to give a shout out, this is genuinely the best takeout restaurant in the area. The food is decently priced, but is always hot, fresh, and amazing tasting. The biggest thing? THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS. To all my fellow gluten-sensitive/free people, they have a bunch of options. They can make pretty much anything breaded with cornstarch, and it is FANTASTIC. I know gluten free is pretty hard to find in terms of takeout, but this place has nailed it. My family and I come here regularly, and absolutely adore it. Typically I order it and pick it up, but when eating in, the restaurant itself is adorable. The staff is always so kind, and the food is pretty speedy. It's a simple pick up, go to the register, give the name and phone number, pay, and boom! Fresh, delicious take out. Make it worth your day and go here!

I normally wouldn't go out this way to eat Chinese food, but we were invited by family for dinner and checked it out. I would give this place 5 stars just for the customer service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick, and made our dining experience very enjoyable. All the dishes we tried were flavor-packed, super hot, and prepared well. I did notice, however, that the food was on the tangier side! The Orange chicken and the Hot and Sour soup were super yum, but very tangy. If that's not your thing, you might want to avoid it, but my wife and I enjoyed it because it is different.

Food was very oily and not flavorful. Upset my stomach. Wanted to like this place given positive reviews and proximity to house.

Ask the Community - Mandarin House

    ARE Are there lunch specials?

    Yes there is. Good selection.

Does anyone know if they use MSG?

I don't believe they use MSG since I am very sensitive to it and never felt ill all the times I've eaten there. Besides, they are very accommodating so if they did, just request no MSG.

You place your order through a QR code, which makes the process quick and easy. This visit, we ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings, Tidu Sliced Beef Pot, and Tianjin Eggplant. The wings are a must-order here. They're always perfectly fried and crispy on the outside while still staying juicy and tender inside. The Tidu Sliced Beef Pot reminded me of a dry hot pot. It had a great mala flavor with a subtle numbing sensation, and the peanuts added a nice crunch and texture to the dish. The Tianjin Eggplant was simple but delicious, with flavorful pork that paired really well with the soft eggplant. Overall, the food here is comforting and satisfying. It's a place I'll definitely keep coming back to.

I was missing some ingredients that were listed and wish it was more customizable but the flavor was on point (especially with the numbing flavor that gives MaLa its signature name). Not the same Mayflower that I went to growing up but this place did NOT disappoint…read more We were in the mood for dim sum on the way to the T&T grocery store opening and yelp brought us here. We walked in right at opening to a completely empty dining room. Instead of leaving, we browsed the menu and ordered XLB, pot stickers, jelly fish, and pea sprouts (my personal fav) so glad we didn't leave! The XLB are a nice size, with each precious dumpling cradled in its own foil wrapper for maximum soup retention. The potstickers were full of flavor, packed with protein, delicately wrapped, and had the crispiest, golden bottoms! Jelly fish was fresh and the pea sprouts were a hit! The poor owner answering the phones made sure (in all languages) to inform folks calling in that there were a different May Flower than the other place-felt terrible for her but also understood the importance of differentiating right up front. I can only imagine the number of misorders they have probably dealt with. By the time we were done, the dining room was filled with a mix of what seemed like regulars, locals, large groups of families, small groups of friends... this feels like we stumbled upon a tiny hole in the wall restaurant where everyone who has been before just knows the quality and taste they are going to be getting! Highly recommend you check this place out for a dine in or take out order!

This is one of the handful of American Chinese restaurants that stood the test of time. As is typical of these places, there was an old lady manning the counter and also acting as the server. And as is typical of these places, there was table at the end where they were prepping the fruits and veggies. It's truly remarkable how they are all similar in these ways! We got a couple of dishes and they came out at lightning speed. * Chowmein-3/5- delicious with lots of umami flavor but shockingly greasy. I mean I am used to oily noodles but this one exceeded some limits. *crispy salt and pepper eggplant-3/5- I had a stellar version of this dish at another restaurant in Sunnyvale and was stoked when I saw this on the menu here. Unfortunately it was a poor representation of the dish I loved there. The batter was too much and the dish felt heavy. The hot oil or sauce they had felt old and extremely vinegary as well, I would recommend avoiding it.
