The seasoning is placed on top of the fries but make sure you spread it thoroughly throughout all fries to ensure it's not too salty. * Honey Butter Crispy Chicken is delicious and perfectly fried. The seasoning powder isn't extremely salty and pairs well with the chicken. Average: * Regular Crispy Fried Chicken was decent. It's fried well and not over cooked but it's kind of bland. Final Verdict: Solid 4/5. The chicken here is good. It's always on point and fried perfectly. It's the right amount of crisp and with the seasoning it's a good mixture. The fries are good as well. The fries aren't too thin. They also offer a sort of vinegar radish on the side and it pairs so well with the chicken. If you are planning to dine in, there are plates, forks and spoons for utilize. Yangyum version is intentionally over fries a bit to prevent soggy chicken so it's really a matter of preference. Ramen stations are a neat addition. This is my favorite Korean fried chicken place for to-go! We make the rice at home, order online and it's usually ready in 15-20 minutes. The crispy yangnyeom chicken (5/5) has great crispness and flavor. The half size is perfect to split between me and my boyfriend. We also like to get half medium and half mild sauces because the medium is a bit too spicy and the mild balances it out well. The deals here are crazy good! Each combo plate costs $12.99 and it was more than enough food for me. I got the 3 Drum combo with steamed rice and boy was it good. The drums were huge and the soy glaze on the chicken was perfect. Vons offers both fried and roasted chicken as well as some Korean side dishes like tteokbokki. You order and pay at the counter, but the food is brought out to your table and they bus the table. They provided food safe gloves which was really convenient for eating the saucy chicken. I've never been offered this before and now I'm not sure I'll be able to eat chicken again without it, haha. We ordered two "half" size combo 1 and a side, and this turned out to be a lot of food. A "wing" here is either a flat or drumette (i.e. 2 "wings" is a full wing), while a "drum" here is actually the leg drumstick. Each half combo 1 was 4 wings and 3 drums. We liked the Hot Vons Special sauce which had a good kick to it without being overwhelming. The Crispy Real Garlic flavor was much sweeter than we were expecting and we probably won't get this one again. However, we liked how crispy the fried chicken was -- we'll try a different flavor next time. The Sodduck (So-Tteok) was fine, but nothing special. Came here for some fried chicken with my family and our friends for dinner yesterday. We were a party of 10. Our party ordered 4 full trays of chicken. We had the Soy Garlic (which was my favorite), Extra Crispy (the kid's favorite), Garlic, and Scallion Chicken. Since we were dining in, they gave us plates, forks, napkins, and beverages. Ambiance is clean and well kept. It's actually spacious with a few tables inside and outside. As our party wrapped up and left, we said our goodbyes outside the restaurant. Then about 10 minutes after we had stepped outside, an employee (not sure if she was the manager or owner) came outside with a new printed check and asked us for TIP!! After we gave the check back to her, she looked at the amount, turned, and with a displeased smile, she said thank you. We were so shocked and thrown off guard as this has never happened before with someone coming up to us asking for a tip. Let alone at a fast food restaurant. First off, it was not a dining experience with waitstaff who came to clear your table, refill your water, and gave you napkins. Second, if they did require a tip, they didn't state that on their menu or establishment. That definitely left an awful feeling for me and my party as we left. I tried Vons Chicken for a takeout lunch with some friends and for a place that is so hyped, it was quite the letdown. We got their classic Crispy Fried Chicken with the garlic soy glaze as well as the Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken (Mild) with sides of fries and Kimchi Fried Rice. In an effort to help the chicken not get soggy, they don't toss the chicken in the sauce for to-go orders and instead put it in a little cup to the side. Unfortunately unless you are going to go home, break out a mixing bowl and actually toss it yourself, you aren't going to get a good experience. It's just not the same trying to dip your chicken in the sauce or drizzle it over the top. The garlic soy glaze was really good but they gave us a tiny cup of sauce that wasn't enough to cover even the half-order we had purchased. They were generous with the Yangnyeom Sauce on the other hand, but I wish they hadn't been because it was just flat out bad. It tasted like a very sweet, slightly spiced ketchup which had no place being anywhere near fried chicken. In terms of sides, the fries were good but the Kimchi Fried Rice was a let down. It was overly mushy, contained minimal meat and really just lacked flavor. Their main competitor Bonchon makes a FAR better Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice that is actually worth ordering. I'd like to first mention that I love Bon Chon and have been very loyal to the establishment for my KBBQ fix ever since my first and last (so I thought) experience at Von's roughly 6 years ago. Needless to say, I was told Von's is better than Bon chin so I thought I should try it again. We ordered 2 half orders of the combo of drumsticks and wings - crispy medium spice and honey butter. Given that we normally share 20 pieces at Bon Chon, I thought we would need two half orders (9 each) but man.. the size of the chicken here is enormous. I mean.. the drumsticks.. where did they even find these chickens! The crunch of the chicken is amazing.. I believe it's double deep fried and that's how it gets so crispy. I enjoyed the crispy medium spice. It had a nice powdery kick and I preferred it actually over Bon Chon's wet sauce. I think I would really enjoy the spiciest version of the crispy. As for the honey butter, it was just as expected. Sweet and salty in all its glory. Overall, it is heavier than Bon Chon as it is super fried and also portion size is way bigger. We could have gotten away with a half order here but definitely need 20 piece at Bon Chon. The rest is restaurant itself is quite small and has a few tables for dining in given most people take their fried chicken for home. I am glad to say my experience 6 years later at Von's drastically changed and I will be back. read more

Crispy Fried drumsticks (3pcs), Mild, French Fries, Coleslaw The drumsticks were cooked to a perfection. Loved the crispness of the drumsticks! The fries were tasty albeit a little on the saltier side and the coleslaw was nice and fresh. Tip: In the takeout bag, there are plastic gloves so it's less messy to eat. We saw the gloves after we ate evertthjnr. Parking is easy here, which is definitely a plus and it's in a plaza that also has the boba shop: Milk tea lab. Will definitely be back again! read more
