Very clean and well managed inside and there were a lot of empty tables when we went (ig bc we ate dinner earlier than usual that day). I haven't had Vons in forever and I remember not liking it very much the first time I had it. Got the crispy fried with garlic soy glaze (5 drum) this time and it was definitely better than I remembered and very yummy! The garlic soy glaze was delicious and the drumsticks were very crispy!

I just experience the most uncomfortable at Vons chicken. We visited many Vons location through out the Bay Area, but this by far the worst experience. Visited this place on Friday, December 13 at 8:20 pm. I understand that this location closes at 9:00 pm. We ordered and food came out fairly quickly. Asked for more sauce cause the sauce did not cover the chicken. You must pay, said the very annoyed and rude cashier..uhh...ok. 2 minutes before 9:00 pm, the rude, annoyed cashier comes and said we close at 9:00 pm, pack your shit and leave (she didn't say that but that's what she was implying) and started cleaning up loudly around us, 409 sprayed, chairs staking, curtains pulled, I get the point. Well, I can't say that 7 of us can quickly eat 2 full portion, plus sides and three rice bowls in 20 mins. If they close in-restaurant dining, then that should've been advise rather than kick us out mid-way through the meal. We would have ordered togo. That was both uncomfortable and awkward. Also, they had a few togo orders they were not yet picked up so why kick us out when they are still waiting for the pickups? Will we come back her again, absolutely not. They just loss 7 customers and lots of $$$ that are foodie. Goodbye Vons Hostetter.

Half order of spicy crispy chicken

This place is my favorite place for Korean fried chicken. The chicken has a good crunch and the pickled daikon is the perfect side to cut through the greasy flavor. My bf and I shared the half order and it was 9 pieces altogether? A good amount, I was content. My bf wanted to order another half order bc it really hit the spot. I love that I don't have to go all the way to Sunnyvale for Vons fried chicken. There's tables inside, good for small parties.

I'm a fan of Vons Chicken and I would love to give this place a higher rating, but unfortunately this specific location just doesn't quite hit the mark for me. I took my bf to Vons Chicken in Milpitas last time we went, and he fell in LOVE with their cheddar fries. We decided to get Vons for dinner Sunday night. We were planning to go to the same location but saw that they permanently closed down and the next closest one was this location. We ordered a half combo crispy honey butter. The cashier asked us whether we were eating here or to-go, and we said for here. I'm not sure why that mattered because they still ended up packing the food in a closed box which just ruined the crispy texture. The fries weren't as crispy and the taste was just off. Same with the chicken. I asked my bf if it was just me, but he agreed the other location was better. Big sad :( Don't get me wrong, Vons Chicken is still good, but it's hard to give this specific place a higher rating after my experiences at other locations. I would maybe give this place 4 stars if I didn't know any better.

I absolutely love Vons Chicken! Their chicken is so crispy and juicy, it's my favorite. I typically get soy garlic and fries, and it's delicious! Usually when I go in, there aren't a lot of other customers. I've noticed a lot come in for take out/to go orders. The employees are so kind and nice every time I've gone, which makes things that much better. I'm so glad there's a Vons Chicken so close to me!

Amazing customer service and good crispy chicken are so damn food. I would said the garlic crispy chicken that they have is lit. Rice cake and noodles is also very good too

Crispy "Yang Nyeom" and Crispy Garlic Soy Glaze
    Thaila N.

This was my first time trying the Yangnyeom flavor, which was sweet and spicy. I don't have a high spice tolerance, and the medium level was just the right amount of spice for me. I am notably a person who LOVES sauce, but our Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken wings were a little TOO saucy. Don't get me wrong, the sauce was delicious, but there was just too much of it. The Crispy Fried Chicken boneless wings had the opposite experience. The garlic soy glaze was hardly noticeable in flavor. The wings were super dry and very hard to chew, it almost felt like they were a day old. My dad said the fried calamari was dry too. The best part of the meal was the sweet potato fries, which had a good balance of crispy and soft fries. Was not very impressed by this Vons location, and will probably not be back.

HALF Crispy Fried Chicken w/ Soy Glaze on Side

Came to the restaurant on a Friday night. It wasn't busy inside, but they had some to go orders. We ordered the Full and Half Crispy Chicken with Soy Garlic Sauce on the Side. Our Vons chicken order was delicious! Especially with the Homemade Creamy Onion sauce. The chicken was perfectly crispy and tasted great! The one thing that bothered me about my order was that they didn't include the pickled radish. This was the second time this happened with my order. I had to make sure to ask them for the radish before I left with the order otherwise they wouldn't have given it to me again.

    Half cheese buldak

We came here on a Saturday lunch, and the restaurant was empty except for the occasional people getting pickup. Between the 7 of us, we shared 3 half combos - original fried chicken, garlic fried chicken, and spicy cheese buldak. The garlic was pretty good and I really liked the garlic topping. Meanwhile, the cheese buldak had a lot of cheese melted over lean chicken and rice cakes. I liked how this Vons included rice cakes in their buldak and not chicken skin, I only wished it was slightly spicier.

Vons has been my first introduction to Korean fried chicken! Omg is the best thing ever! Chicken is so crispy and moist inside. We always order the mild crispy soy chicken and ask for Vons special sauce which is thick. sweet and spicy. You also get pickled radish with your order. Oh the cuts is wings and drumstick and boneless pcs. So don't expect other pcs. But I do have to say they are good size pcs. Other wing places I have to question why wings are so small. As if they were Cornish hen pcs. Since this is made to order, it's fresh out of the fryer and a bit of a wait. If taking out call in your order so you don't have to wait. This location has few tables to eat in. You order and prepay first and they bring it to you. I love Vons chicken! I've tried other Korean chicken places but always go back to Vons. The original one is in Santa Clara so I was happy when this place opened up in San Jose. Would be even better if they opened one in the evergreen area of San Jose. Hint hint

Vons KFC is perfectly fried and full of flavor that it can be eaten as is. Each order comes with a side of pickled radish and it acts as a palette cleanser. It is a little bit pricey pero no regrets. 5/5 Crispy fried chicken- so crispy and juicy! Definitely a crunch to each bite. 4/5 Yangnyeom chicken- crispy even when tossed with sauce! loved the kick of spiciness but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking

[During Omicron] I'm certainly a fan of this franchise. Located in a pretty big plaza, you can find this restaurant. With the big plaza, there is plenty of parking. The restaurant isn't too big, but of the ones I visited, it's pretty average. I visited right around opening on a weekday, so there wasn't a wait. I got my go-to-order, Half Crispy Yangyum boneless, but with a side of Rice Cakes. It didn't take long to receive my order. I believe there was indoor seating available, but there's also a few tables outside, of which I opted for, for a little bit more safety. Like the other locations, you get a lot for a half order. The boneless was breaded breast meat. Both the sauce and the chicken were good, the breading having crunch to it and wasn't soggy. The rice cakes were also good, and surprisingly a 3rd type of preparation in comparing the other locations I've been to. The rice cakes were pretty traditional, boiled and covered in sauce. The staff was nice. I did have a bit of a run in with trying to buy a soda after my initial order. For some reason, I thought I could get by with just the food, but I really wanted a soda. They do have a minimum to use credit card, of which I didn't meet, nor had enough cash. It is store policy, but the struggle to find decently priced soda in this plaza was a thing. If you're in the area, this is a reliable franchise for Korean Fried Chicken. Check them out.

Soy Crispy Garlic Soy Glaze - Medium
    Sara L.

Decided to come to this outlet because the one in Milpitas is permanently closed (very sad). The food here is great - everything is made to order, served piping hot. Popcorn chicken is a litttttttle salty but the soy garlic chicken lives up to its reputation as always. Would give this place a 4 star if it weren't for the lack of amenities. The bathroom is for employees only (not good esp as I was pregnant and I needed the toilet desperately/if you have kids/older family members). Server told me to use the bathroom next-door (???) but it was Paris Baguette...I'd never do that anyway. They don't provide any moist towelletes/hand wipes...so how do I wash my hands after eating all this oily chicken lol. Bring your own if you want to dine-in here. I've been to other outlets and they did provide hand wipes of some sort at least. I'd say do a take away instead of dining in. It is air-conditioned.

Ask the Community - Vons Chicken

Would I be able to order anything thats not spicy at all? Also how many pieces are in a full or half chicken order? If I want both wings and drums to choose the combo? Thank you.

YES, they have every level of spic or non-spice and the servers will ask your preference of hand. I highly recommend this spot. It's in a way a hidden jewel of Fremont.

The reason why I came over here fairly recently was because I visited cousins and cousin in law that live near to give them Valkyries shirts and other shirts they'll send to the Philippines in over a month, and since they plan to be sending clothes over while telling me about the place, I gave them my Kate Martin and Kaitlyn Chen jerseys for the trouble as I needed to make room for my Veronica Burton jersey, which I wore when I met up with them, and my upcoming violet Gabby Williams one. (Go Valks!) The noteworthy parts the place has are the real good amount of banchan dishes, bibimbap and the short rib, the spicy one in particular. While I probably will not visit the place again anytime soon, at least I can keep this place in mind if I want Korean food without driving to Santa Clara. There's plenty of parking behind the spot. As you come in, the place looks simple, but it works. You have the adorable ajumma/ajumni to take your order. The stuff I ordered. I had water, banana milk and kimchi fried rice. Since I was the only one that had more than 1 drink, I told my cousins and cousin in law the banana milk, and they did bring up how on occasion, you see the drink in K-dramas. Of course, we laughed on how my parents never got into K-dramas and while I'm at it, Filipino dramas. Oh well. Oh, there's no doubt the food is good, and the place is too legit (to quit) as I did hear Korean from a different table. As I typed up, there are plenty of banchan dishes. Not Los Angeles amount of banchan dishes, but there are plenty of banchan dishes never the less. The kimchi fried rice dish may be simple, but it does give off that homey feel. Can't forget how Big actually is affordable, the big reason why my cousins and cousin in law like the place so much. The reason why the place doesn't get a perfect score. The place would have received a perfect score if, the major matter I remember here, the place has mul naengmyun (my favorite Korean dish). Originally, I wanted Japanese ramen before my cousins mentioned this place, and I was ready to pivot to having mul naengmyun, but I was told that the place doesn't carry the noodle dish. (Being a very good and logical dish to eat for at the very least half of the year in a city like here San Jose is the reason why of all of the Korean dishes, I like mul naengmyun the most.) There probably is one or two minor flaws I already forgot, but the lack of mul naengmyun is the dead on reason why I don't give the place a perfect score. On a side note, it's nice that I told the group what banana milk and mul naengmyun are, and by doing so, they learn something new regarding eating at Korean spots just in case. BigSpoon is a good spot. While it may not be as iconic as the places in Santa Clara, it is a good spot never the less. It does a good job at being a Korean spot for an area that is more so known for Mexican food. If you live on the east side, head on over here because the place should get your attention. +/BigSpoon is brilliant and spiffy because it has a terrific combination of good simple food, affordability and wonderful service. -/If only the place also has mul naengmyun.

Plenty of tofu and a generous amount of beef. I also loved all the sides they included along with a bowl of rice. Every side dish was delicious, but the kimchi especially stood out. We waited until 5:20 and they still weren't serving, so we ended up leaving. Our most recent visit was the last straw. They only offered two types of banchan (not even kimchi), and they were out of all dishes that included meat or beef. It was surprising for a Korean restaurant to not have Korean BBQ or short ribs available. My seafood tofu soup barely had any seafood, and I had to point out to the waiter that there was no shrimp at all. He later returned with a cheap frozen seafood mix and said they use a seafood mix, which was disappointing considering the higher quality seafood they used to serve (including head-on shrimp). They also did not serve the usual purple rice this time -- instead we were given dry white rice that seemed reheated. There was only one server handling all the tables and cleaning, so service was slow. It's disappointing because the quality used to be much better. Based on our recent experiences, we will not be returning anytime soon.

We were just looking for some quick bites, so we ordered a seafood pancake and meat jun to share. Both of these were very generous portions. The seafood pancake had a nice light crisp, and was full of seafood and green onion, while the meat jun game on a bed of fresh cabbage and was full of tender, sweet and flavorful bulgolgi. We really enjoyed both with the banchan! Danbi has some great offerings, and I'll definitely try to come again to try some of the entrees and other things when I'm in the area and looking for a full meal!

This restaurant was filling up but it really only seemed like 3 or so employees, one waiting tables, one by the counter, and another in the kitchen. Looks like a family run business that could probably use some more hands! We ordered Yookdaejang: Good! I have no complaints about this one. Galbitang: Didn't try any but my wife said it was kind of bland. We went to Kunjip the week before and didn't get to order this, so we were really craving it. It's very good at Kunjip. I was debating just doing a seafood pancake instead. I saw a bunch of other tables have it and it looked thick and crispy. For both soups, it was too much for us so we took them both home and ate it for dinner the following day. Added more noodles to it too, so value wise it kinda worked out. The banchan was good. They ran out of fish cake but I loved the kimchi! Pretty solid for good korean food with no wait - the only wait really was the lack of employees, but sitting and ordering was quick enough.
