We have been trying other restaurants in the other area and Dough Zone was the next one on our list. When we arrived around lunch time on a weekday, it was pretty busy but managed to get seated with minimal wait. You can order from the staff or from a QR code. We had initially wanted to just give back the paper slip but it took a while and we ended up placing our order via the QR code. We started with the pork xiao long bar and pork & crab meat xiao long bao. Both were delicious and would order them again. Skin was thin and meat & soup was yummy. This is the highlight of our meal. We ordered the egg fried rice and it was decent. We also ordered the beef noodle soup. The broth was ok, noodle was overcooked and there was plenty of cubed beef that were tender. We also tried the beef pancake. Wrapper was crispy and flaky. Beef was ok. We also ordered the green onion pancake but did not come out and end up canceling it as we were done eating. Restaurant has a nice modern feel and a lot of wood elements. Well lighted. Overall, if you are craving for Xiao long bao, would come here than going to Valley fair for the more popular restaurant. The rest of the dishes were ok.

This is a nice small eats place for those that love rumblings and noodles. Service was quick, but they did not check in often. My kids enjoyed the XLB. Parking is easy in a shared plaza. Ordering was easy and done through a QR code. The beef dish is salty and I would not recommend. Wish their noodles had more meat.

I've been to a few other Dough Zone locations but this was my first time at this one. My boyfriend and I had a great experience. Our server was so great. He was very friendly and checked up on us every now and then to make sure we were okay. The space is a decent size. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The food came out pretty quick too. The food was just as good as the other ones we've been too. We were a little sad that the chicken soup dumplings were out of stock since we couldn't eat the other ones due to our personal dietary restrictions. Either way, the food that we did get was still great!

I heard about this place when scrolling DoorDash one day, however, I decided to visit it in person. The decor is cute, modern Asian and sleek. We came here after lunch rush around 3pm and ordered a bunch of food that were part of their favorites and must try's.There were a bunch of items that were out of stock and we were disappointed we weren't able to try it. We ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, Chicken Crispy Gyoza, Egg Fried Rice, Chicken Xia Long Bao, and Pork Xia Long Bao, and the Beef Pancake Roll. I am not a big pork eater so I was thoroughly happy they had Chicken Xia Long Bao. The chicken XLB were steamed to perfection with a wonderful broth. I honestly couldn't tell I was eating a non-pork XLB. The Dan Dan Noodles are one of the dishes they are known for. We were excited to try these as a bunch of places that we eat don't have this offering. We were rather disappointed because the noodles, on the printed menu, shows meat in it, however when we got it, there was no meat in the dish. The flavor was ok, I think the absence of the meat lended to the lack in flavor we were expecting. The beef pancake roll was stuffed with beef and provided a nice crunchy, flaky pancake against your palate. It was seasoned perfectly. It is quite a large roll and can be shared. Overall, besides the lack of some items in the menu and the lack of meat on the Dan Dan Noodles, I would recommend trying this place.

The food was excellent and dishes came out quick. But I had to knockoff two star because the toilet had brown-buildup under the rim and looked like it wasn't cleaned properly in months. And how they handled a customer service mishap. I had lunch with my family and we asked for a refill on our tea from who we later learned was a trainee. When our server returned from their break they explained that the trainee was unaware that tea was charged per pot and indicated that it would be added to our bill. I feel that they passed the cost of a training mishap onto the customer for an item that cost the restaurant cents. With that said, it was off-putting to charge us after it was delivered for something that was trivial. The explanation after-the-fact was inadequate and made the entire dining experience very awkward since most other restaurants would have comped the second tea in that situation. It gives the perception that they were cheap and penny-pinching. Especially since it was a training breakdown. My recent experience was disappointing solely because of how they handled their mistake. And I would have overlooked the restroom had it not been for how they handled it.

Would give 4.5 stars if possible. Great very reasonably priced options, most under $10 each which is amazing. The Dan Dan noodles were fantastic with a nice numbing spice. XLB were nice and hot and lots of soup inside which was awesome. Dough is a little thicker than DTF but they were really good. Great scallions pancakes which are flakey and very crispy which is key! Enjoyed the beef scallion pancake roll. Easy to use app for ordering in store too. Love it!

Popular place but not my vibe. Portions were small and soup dumplings were small and lacked flavor. Wait service felt like they didn't want to be there. Not one smile from the 4 guys we saw there.

Try this with my son the other day because he was in the mood for soup dumplings. We really enjoyed the crab pork dumpling the most, but we did try the chicken and the pork only. Tried the potstickers which were pretty good. The wonton soup was ok, always tough to beat pay pau's. Service was friendly, the place was very busy. Did not have to wait too long for only two people but anything above that might take a little bit longer on the weekend. Would definitely come back and bring more of the family.

This year is different for me and my family. My uncle found out he had 2 types of leukemia this January. We visited him, called him, texted him, prayed for him, and brought food and drinks to him while he was undergoing chemotherapy. He passed away last month right before Thanksgiving, so no one in my family celebrated the holidays this year. Some of us chose to follow a vegetarian diet for our Buddhist beliefs. I have not consumed meat (this also includes seafood) since November 10th, so wherever I go I need to make sure they have no meat options. Thankfully we live in the Bay Area where doing that is pretty easy. This place was opened on Christmas Day. I have rice at home and a block of tofu, but I couldn't muster the energy to do anything as I'm still recovering from being sick - I need to go back to urgent care on 12/30 if I don't feel better. It seems as though I have pneumonia. Anyway. Very thankful that this place was open and that DoorDash made it all possible. I tipped the driver generously because they are working on a holiday plus the weather was gloomy with on/off rain. I ordered for Gavin 2 orders of egg fried rice and boiled pork wontons and for me I ordered scallion noodles, green onion pancake, and vegetarian spicy ma la noodles. I enjoyed the scallion noodles, the noodles were chewy. The green onion pancake was thin and crispy, which I thought were okay. The vegetarian spicy ma la noodles were not spicy, but it was quite comforting eating them on a holiday where I'm feeling sad. Hopefully next time I go, it will be in person to enjoy their other dishes. Merry Christmas and thank you for being open.

I've been wanting to try Dough Zone for a while, so when I found myself in the neighborhood recently I decided to get takeout for a late lunch/early dinner. I used to love dumplings, but haven't enjoyed them at the last few dim sum places I've tried. I was hopeful Dough Zone's would be good. I went to their website to order online and was redirected to DoorDash. I ordered Pork Xiao Long Bao, which are dumplings filled with pork, broth, and seasoning; Pan-fried Pork Buns; and a romaine salad with sesame dressing. The DoorDash app alerted me when my food was ready, which only took 10 or 15 minutes. When I went inside to pick it up, I was surprised to see how busy the restaurant was at 3:30pm in the afternoon. One of the waiters told me to go look for my food on the DoorDash shelf near the back of the restaurant. I thought that was a little odd and wondered if he thought I was a delivery driver picking up an order. I found my food without any issues. Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the items I ordered. The sesame dressing was so spicy that I couldn't eat the salad. As for the dumplings, I can't say why I didn't care for them other than personal preference. There was nothing wrong with them, they just weren't for me.

Was craving dumplings tonight and decided to try Dough Zone for take out tonight after it was recommended by a friend. I used the mobile ordering on their website and found it to be easy and user friendly. The order was ready right on time when it said it would be and pick up was seamless. I found the food to be tasty, but it fell a bit short when compared to other exceptional dumpling places in town. However, the prices are far more affordable, no giant crowds, and the food still really satisfied my craving so it was worth it! The chicken fried rice (3/5) was probably my least favorite thing I ordered. It was missing the traditional taste of a a fried rice for me and was underwhelming. I would pass on this next time. Chicken XLB soup dumplings (4/5), delicious broth, perfect amount of chewy texture and flavor. Hit the mark but didn't surpass it. Lastly, the Dan Dan noodles (5/5) were very good! Perfect texture that you would want them to be with a lot of flavor and the classic "numbing" feeling from the peppercorn.

We beat the Friday dinner rush which was nice! The person who greeted us was very cheerful the entire time so I really appreciated his presence. Cute Christmas decor too! My only gripe is that my favorite dish has reduced in quantity :( Food: - pork xiao long bao: 5/5 delicious, can't go wrong with a classic - pork wonton in chili sauce: 1/5 my favorite dish but it barely had any meat :( mostly ate wonton wrapper which I do love me my carbs but the portion was off for sure - beef stewed noodles: 2/5 delicious noodles, like I said I love carbs, but only four small pieces of beef... - fried pork buns: 5/5 delicious, if you don't liked smelling fried oils maybe skip this but I don't care I like a good crunch on the bottom (forgot to take a pic because it took a while to come out which is fine) - meat pies: 3/5 I was too full to finish my share, but it was decent, again more carb than meat but flavor was alright

Pretty full house when i came by myself on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm after a golf lesson. The service was very good even as a single diner. I've been to the one in Cupertino which is a little bigger. U can order thru scan or paper, i like paper. Ordered the pork xiao long bao , cucmbers, and dan dan noodles. They give hot water. I enjoyed all my dishes. The dumplings look a lil powdery but their are yummy with soup inside. Cucumbers taste fresh and no overly marinated. Noodles were nice as well. Had a nice dining experience and would recommend!

In general, their dim sum was better than dinner, but tonight's dishes are worth mentioning. The good: 1. steamed lobster with rice vermicelli: good flavor and fresh lobster. All lobster pieces were cut open, making it easy to eat. 2. beef steak with broccoli: the beef was so soft! The 0.5cm thickness makes it perfect size to bite down. 3. BBQ plate: loads of goodies, with my favorite cha siu, jelly fish, and pork belly cubes. 4. Soup with morel and chicken. Loads of morels! Could use a bit more salt but it's not that big a deal. The ones that could be improved: 1. small silver fish fried with egg yolk coating: a bit chewy, but good flavor. 2. sea cucumber stuffed with shrimp paste: indeed a hard to make dish at home, so we were all excited. But the sea cucumber was not well flavored; instead, it tasted quite fishy and earthy. Too bad this expensive dish was only half consumed. The bean sprouts at the bottom were a lot more desirable. 3. salt pepper chicken: it was seasoned with salt and pepper powder, but not cooked with salt at the pan, so the chicken lacks the heat and dryness from salt. At the night, a wedding reception was in place, but we were able to seat at the next room and enjoyed our noisy and loud cheers.

The server's sincere apology when the food was finally delivered significantly helped erase that frustration. The BBQ Pork: Very flavorful and not too fatty. However, typically priced around $15.00 to $16.00, I found the portion size to be a bit small for the cost and the wait. Beef Chow Mein: A classic staple that was well-prepared, though I prefer the thicker noodle. General Chicken: a solid choice, just the right amount of seasoning. Gailan: Fresh and a perfect balance to the heavier meat items. Overall, the sincerity of the staff and the food quality made up for the initial logistical hiccups.

What makes this especially frustrating is that my group and I used to come here every Sunday and genuinely looked forward to it. It was a regular tradition for us. Sadly, the experience is no longer what it once was. I sincerely hope the restaurant can return to the standards that made it so popular in the first place. Until then, I'll be taking my dim sum outings to Walnut Creek instead.

This dim sum place doesn't get great reviews. Not sure why. It's always packed. Always. Is it the…read moreservice? Maybe. They never seem to have enough servers. Is it the price? Maybe. Everything is more expensive everywhere these days. The thing is, this place is solid. I've always had a good meal here. Everyone I've ever shared a meal with here has always enjoyed it. So, maybe the lower rating will scare others off. Personally, I'll enjoy eating here over and over again. BTW, their baked pork bun, chowfun, and tofu wrapped pork/mushroom dishes are delicious.

My second time here for lunch. There's no wait on a weekday last time. 3 of us came here on…read moreSaturday around noon, and had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all. Even though their parking lot had a lot of cars, it's so big that there're still plenty of spaces. Their inside was huge as well. Because of the high ceiling, it didn't feel too crowded, even though it was packed. They had a lot of servers, too, though getting the attention of one took a while. Our server highly recommended their sea bass 2 ways (congee and chow fun) on their daily special menu. We would have ordered that if they still had fish at ~2lb, but they only had fish at ~3lb, which would be too big for us, as we would like to order some dim sum as well. So, we just ordered from their dim sum menu. The 2 different house teas we ordered came out pretty quickly, but it took a while for the food to come. The Sauteed Turnip Cake in XO Sauce was the dish I liked the most. It could still use more XO sauce, though. Pork & Crab Roe Siu Mai was gigantic; taste was normal. I wished they had chili sauce at the table. We're too busy catching up and didn't bother to flag down someone to get some. The Fried Bean Curd Skin Roll w/ Shrimp was not bad, just a bit oily. The Fried Chinese Donut Wrapped in Rice Noodle w/ Dried Shrimp was on point; it came with a peanut sauce on the side. The Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce were well cooked and off the bones. The Salted Egg Yolk Lava Black Bun wasn't too sweet; the inside was more runny than we expected. We're already stuffed after having 6 dim sum dishes. Overall, dim sum was solid, but on the more expensive side. While their service was typical for a Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area, they did apply a 16% service charge to the bill automatically, which was stated on their menu.

Went to HL Peninsula, and it was aggressively packed! We came on a Sunday morning and waited over…read morean hour and a half for a party of five, so come prepared. In my opinion, their system for waiting for tables is a bit chaotic. They do not ask for your phone number; instead, they print out a receipt with a number and call it out when your table is ready. There is a monitor inside the restaurant that you can watch, but since it's so crowded and the way the system is displayed on the screen, it's kind of hard to tell what is going on or what your status is. Service-wise, it's exactly what you would expect from any Chinese restaurant serving dim sum, if you know what I mean. :) Inside, the restaurant is very spacious and large, and I am assuming the reason for the long wait is that it's one of only two places to get dim sum in Milpitas (the other being Mayflower in the other highly packed plaza nearby). They do not serve dim sum with the traditional cart system where dishes are rolled around the dining room. Instead, you order from a menu and mark down how many quantities you want of each item. My family got a variety of dishes, but I'll call out some notable ones: * Their shu mai was juicy and packed with meat, probably one of the best shu mai I've had in the South Bay. * Their har gow skin broke apart really easily, which bummed me out, but it was generously stuffed with shrimp. * My favorite dish was their purple rice rolls. It was basically a Chinese donut stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in a purple glutinous rice roll. * The chicken feet were very balanced and not too sweet. * The truffle scallop dumpling had a rich mushroom flavor, and the scallop added a nice flavor profile. * The BBQ pork was coated well with the char siu sauce. It was tender and bold in flavor. Overall, my experience here was great, but I do not think it warranted more than a 30-minute wait. The food also came out a bit slowly in my opinion, but that was probably due to the high volume of people.
