shrimp fried rice
Sarah J.

This restaurant had great Chinese food, and everything we ordered tasted great! We ordered family style entrees. We got shrimp fried rice, cumin fried chicken, string beans, and sweet sour fish soup. The spice level was good, not too spicy. Each entree had very good flavor. My favorite was cumin fried chicken. the chicken was tender and crispy on the outside. I also liked the fish fillet and tofu, as it had good spicy flavor. The service was fast and the waiter spoke Chinese. There were lots of tables inside and parking options available.

The crispy cumin chicken and pork with cauliflower were good! Would order again. The beef over crispy rice was tasty, but the crispy rice gets soggy kind of fast - kind of wish they left it as separate components instead of doing the table-side pour over. Would probably favor ordering something else if we came back. Service was relatively quick. Came for lunch and there was no wait for a table. They also have a boba menu but I did not try it. The parking situation is really good - it's in a plaza, so plenty of parking.

This restaurant was highly recommended and with good reason. The dishes are flavorful without being overly salty. Although the restaurant is leaving this particular area, I'm sure they will reopen in another part of town. The current boiling is being demolished and shops with apartments above are coming in. Today was their second to last day in this building, and the lunch crowd arrived! I hope they find another place to conduct their business because it's a bustling one! Kung pai chicken, fish fillets and orange peel beef were or table choices. Each were delicious! A huge bowl of rice arrived for the table in addition to soup as an appetizer. Since they are about to close, they cut out the lunch salads. The ambiance is cozier than most Chinese restaurants. I believe it's because of the chosen paint color. Today there was only one waitress. If they remain as busy as today, they will need to revamp the help level. Until next time...

This is hands down my favorite restaurant for mapo tofu! It's spicy, tingly, and packed with black bean flavor in each bite. It truly is everything you could want in mapo tofu with authentic flavors. Beyond just their mapo tofu, I would highly recommend their chili fish filet and chicken. Everything here is wonderfully spicy and delicious!

Hot & Sour Soup (Veggie) 酸辣湯(素)
Justine T.

This rating is just for their hot and sour soup which was listed as a featured/most ordered item on their DoorDash page. Even though I ordered through DoorDash, the soup definitely still hit the spot! The soup was warm, soothing, had an even flavorful balance of hot/sour, the soup base had the right consistency and wasn't too thick or watery, and it had a good amount of veggies in it.

House Special Crispy Cumin Chicken ($19.99)

Came here for lunch as a party of 5 on a Saturday and the place was a pretty empty, so we were able to get a table with no wait! ~the food~ - House Special Crispy Cumin Chicken ($19.99): The was SO good! Super crispy fried chicken that was packed with flavor + spice! Definitely was my favorite dish from the meal! - Sautéed Garlic Sugar Pea Leaves ($18.99): Pretty good! I think this was the first timeI tried Sugar Pea Leaves and it like in between spinach and bok choy? Was seasoned nicely with garlic and was a great side veggie dish to balance out the meal! - Beef with Sizzling Rice ($24.99): Crispy rice with braised beef + veggies sauce poured on top! Make sure to eat this one right away as the crispiness of the rice goes away fast after the sauce goes on top! Really enjoyed this one as well! - Wok Cooked Pork With Cauliflower ($22.99): This one was also super good! The dish was nicely seasoned and I liked the cauliflower still had a nice crunch to it! Not a whole lot of pork, more of a veggie dish but still really good! - Braised Pork with wild bamboo shoots ($21.99): Not bad! the pork belly was very tender, and nicely seasoned, but I wasn't a huge fan of the bamboo shoots underneath the pork belly as it was kinda too fibrous? ~parking~ Lots of the parking available in the plaza! ~overall~ Very casual place, I think it would be perfect for a large family meal! Their portions were pretty generous so I would recommend doing family-style to try a variety of their dishes! I did hear that the entire plaza is possibly going to be closed in April, so definitely give this restaurant a try before then!

Szechuan Dan Dan Noodle
Payel K.

I tried this place for the first time last night via DoorDash and was really happy with the items I ordered. I really really enjoyed the Dan Dan. The noodles were perfectly chewy. It was flavorful without being overly spicy. A good Sichuan Dan Dan noodles like it's supposed to be. 10/10 Ma Po tofu was fine too. Next time, I'll get it with the added pork. Ordered a side of white rice which was only $2 and more than adequate. Look forward to trying more dishes.

So saddened to hear that Pot Sticker is closing its doors after 12 years in the Bay Area due to mall redevelopment. This place has been a staple for authentic Szechuan and Shandong cuisine for over a decade. As you can see in my photo image.png, the food is always vibrant and full of flavor. It's not a "goodbye," but a "see you later"--I truly hope they find a new location soon. Fellow foodies, make sure to visit one last time before they close!

三鲜锅巴挺脆的,烤鱼也不错。总体味道很好 The crispy rice crust with three kinds of seafood was quite crunchy, and the grilled fish was also good. Overall, the taste was very good.

Quickly Stir-Fry Pork Kidney ($23.99)

Pretty good Sichuanese food! My family came here and ordered a bunch of food. Price is on the higher side for some dishes but portions are big. We asked for everything to be extra spicy but it was honestly very tolerable, so don't be afraid if you don't have super high spice tolerance. It looks a lot spicier than it actually is. Their mapo tofu is one of the better ones I've had so I'd definitely recommend! Overall a good place for a family style meal with signature Sichuanese flavors. The service was quick and efficient but also nice! The place has tons of seating and is very casual. Looks a bit outdated cus they've been open for so long.

Very delicious and authentic food! Everything was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this spot for a great meal.

Lunch menu

I stopped by at JX cuisine for lunch on a weekday and got the crispy spicy chicken - I believe it might have been called the Chong Quing chicken or the Sichuan mala chicken. It had a great spice with that classic numbing flavor of the Sichuan peppercorns. The portions were large but this dish was not included with the lunch special so any accompanying rice would have to be ordered separately. I also ordered a scallion pancake which was a different texture than expected but the flavor was okay. I would recommend going with cash if you can based on the owner's recommendations. The people at the counter taking my order were nice, and there were several tables for seating (although I took my food to go).

JX Cuisine was such a pleasant surprise. The dishes had authentic Sichuan flavors with a great balance of spice and aroma. The辣子鸡 was crispy and packed with fragrance, and the stir-fried dishes were fresh and well-seasoned. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and flavorful. The calligraphy decor added a nice cultural touch to the space. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for satisfying, authentic Chinese food.

They have also opened a location in Cupertino that is more convenient for me. Adding Mian to this plaza definitely livened it up, it was so difficult finding parking and then there was an hour wait when we joined the waitlist. We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. My partner had the chengdu zajiang noodles, mild spicy. They were good, the signature dish of the restaurant. I would return, but their spice levels are very inconsistent.

Love the more unique baby corn and water chestnut in this dish - Stir Fried Eggplant: don't mistake this as a health dish - it is absolutely glistening with oil. We knew to go early, since they don't take reservations and we often see lines outside. We arrived at 10:30am and the front manager said if we can be done my 12:30, that they had a table for us. Party of 12, since we got there early, we agreed. The side room had the biggest round table for us. They ask you what kind of tea you want, we like chrysanthemum tea. You order the items on the paper menu and it comes to your table. So we got going on the orders and TBH, we must be hungry, because we did a lot of orders (we had plenty of left overs). Tried some favorites and a few new items that we thought were unique to their restaurant. My dad has to order crispy noodle and chow fun, and we also ordered chicken fried rice. The service was prompt and attentive, with enough servers to take care of the side room. Since it was the "sun room", the sun was shining through the windows and it was bright. Review from my parents: it was just meh, they prefer the other place near our house. I think the food is good, but probably won't come back again with a big group of us, since they don't have many big round tables. And personally, I prefer the whole experience of the ladies coming around with their carts. Perhaps their dinner menu is also worth trying. Bonus for us is that we can literally walk to this restaurant. Parking could be an issue if you come later.

Ironically, I'm not a fan of them myself--they're a bit too eggy for my taste. When it comes to dim sum quality and service, I honestly prefer Koi Palace. The food quality there is more consistent, and the service is much more phenomenal. The only things this place really has over Koi Palace are the lower prices and those black sesame custard buns my friend loves! I've been here at least a dozen times, and the food can be hit or miss. Sometimes dishes come out cold, like they've been sitting out for a while instead of being served fresh and hot. That said, there are a few items we always order that are consistently good when brought out fresh like salted crispy pork chops, siu mai, shrimp rolls, and fried calamari. Be prepared for a wait on weekends since it gets crowded. If you're coming with a large group, it's best to arrive before noon. The restaurant is located next to a hotel, and finding the restroom can be confusing since it's inside the hotel. Service is also pretty minimal--they seem understaffed, and I almost always have to flag someone down just to get basics like soy sauce, chili, and water. I don't understand why they don't just have the sauce on the table for guest to dip, but I get that they're saving $ on controlling the cost down. On my most recent visit, the experience really went downhill. Our table had food but no soy sauce, chilli nor water, and when I flagged a waiter multiple times, he got visibly annoyed and irritated. It was frustrating--we shouldn't have to chase someone down repeatedly for basic condiments. Being met with attitude for that honestly left a bad impression. That experience alone makes me reconsider coming back. Good food at a good price is one thing, but poor service--especially to that extent--can really ruin the overall experience.
