    56 Cumin Lamb 新疆孜然羊肉
    Willy T.

I came here with a party of 8 on a Saturday night. We came in an hour before they close but still got speedy and good service. Techno music was pumping in the background. We ordered a beef chow fun, a choy, cumin lamb, nap tofu, beef wraps, and combination fried rice to share family style. The chow fun is good and has good texture. The beef was tender and had a little kick. The cumin lamb also had a good crisp to it. The beef wrap was so much bigger than I imagined it to be. It was definitely the highlight for me. It had plenty of veggies (including whole green onion chunks) and plenty of beef. The a choy also felt pretty fresh. Finally, I really like how the fried rice had some pickled mustard greens. They gave fortune cookies at the end. The biggest downside about eating here is that basically everything is oily. Asides from that, this feels like a good bridge between a more traditional chinese and modern chinese-american food. There is a big menu with a lot of options to choose from.

We ordered #48 String Beans & Eggplant 豆角焖茄子 everytime! Great service! Tasty food!

My friend and I came over for an early dinner at around 4 pm on a Saturday and with the spacious seating inside, we got a table immediately. The ordering is pretty convenient where you place it with the QR code at the table and all our dishes came out almost simultaneously. A Choy - The perfect vegetable dish to balance between the richer dishes we ordered. It had a great garlic flavor and the vegetables were cooked well, soft while keeping a crunchy texture bite to it. Pork & Cabbage Dumplings - We ordered the classic combination of pork and cabbage and it did not disappoint. The dumplings were pretty large and were piping hot as well as juicy on the inside. It was elevated by the vinegar chili oil sauce on the side which gave it a slight kick and sourness. Tidu Sliced Beef Pot - I was a little worried this would be too spicy but it was a good balance with the spice and had a slight sourness. The meat and fishballs were my favorite, coated in their rub. My friend highly recommended this place because of the quality of food and the very affordable prices which I agree with after trying these dishes. I highly recommend it if you're looking to get some Chinese dishes at a great price.

My family and I stopped by Home Eat for lunch. Food was good! We got a steamed chicken with ginger scallion, cumin lamb, and chicken + pork trip soup to share amongst the 4 of us. We thought everything tasted really good! My dad said this felt pretty authentic to Beijing cuisine he would expect to have in China. We also got lots of leftovers to take home!

I've eating Home Eat serval times at the Great Mall location. The Santa Clara location was the first time I sat down and ate the food super fresh. The portions are huge and come out piping hot. Service is also very fast and for a weekday night I was seated very quickly. All the dishes were packed with flavor and went great with rice. If you're wanting to go to the next step in fast quality Chinese food. I'd definitely check it out, the honey walnut prawns are better then a lot of places in the South Bay. It's not soggy, they're crispy with the famous sweet sauce & candied walnuts. My partner who's a local was surprised how good this dish was. I will definitely be coming back (which I did, I actually ordered a lunch box set to go it comes out hot & fresh if anyone's wondering everything is cooked to order).

Wanted to get some Chinese food and this was the best place that popped up. There was a mild amount of parking outside of the restaurant, and the interior was clean with a sleek, monochromatic ambiance. Although Home Eat is designed moreso for group meals (like most Chinese restaurants tend to me), there was no awkwardness that came from the fact that I came alone. The waiter was relatively friendly, and I noticed that there was also a robot that was also delivering food to people. Since I was only one person, I decided to get the Beef Chow Fun. It tasted good and I was able to eat the entire sitting on my own, which I'm not sure is really sad or really impressive. Regardless, it fulfilled the random "beef chow fun" craving that I've been having for a while, so it did its job. Overall, a nice experience. Had I not randomly encountered four different Home Eats after eating here, I would've never suspected that this restaurant was a franchise. Wouldn't mind coming back if I wanted Chinese food in Santa Clara again.

Words cannot describe how much i love this place. It's like going to your grandmas house and she's whipping up a billion dishes that all taste HELLA GOOD. #AUTHENTIC. the price and the quality and the quality is hard to beat. Each plate can serve 2-3 people so it's a lotttt. AND it's a rlly good price too. It's not too oily so you don't feel gross afterwards. We got the combo fried rice, beef chow fun, eggplant, lamb skewers. Every single one of them is DELICIOUS. i literally cannot find a single fault

My favorite Chinese comfort food places. They have a huge variety of dishes at a great price and generous portions. I like that they have a monthly special with additional discounts. Must try food here are the eggplant with string beans and the classic chicken wings!! The have a large amount of tables along with a separate area for large groups so getting a ravel is never a issue. Staff is always friendly and quick with the food

    Francie M.

Talk about a bang for your buck! Every dish is a massive portion size for an extremely reasonable price - no wonder this is beloved of Santa Clara students right by campus. I ordered the pork and picked cabbage soup because I normally love pickled flavors, but I didn't realize how strong the flavor was for an entire bowl of soup - I gave up about a third of the way through it. I also wish the pork was in some other preparation other than ground as it got lost in the sauce. My friend's hotpot and Mongolian beef combo dishes were delicious though. Logistics: - Indoor seating only - Good amount of parking in front

I always love Home Eats because it is my comfort food. Today, I decided to try new menu items. I got the combo fried rice, Sichun wok, and pig ears. Pig ears had good flavor but my friend said the texture could be better. It was not as fresh as we expected. 3/5 for this dish. The sichuan wok was really good. I liked the broth flavor and it was good level of spice. The toppings in there were also very good, with lots of beef and tofu and vermicelli noodles. The combo fried rice was amazing and not too oily or salty. The service was very fast and the robots were delivering the food. There were lots of seating inside and the ambience was great!

    "strawberry juice"

Home Eat is a popular Chinese restaurant located on El Camino Real across from the train station. They have a good-sized menu with several unusual items. For instance, they have a selection of combination meals that come with a main entree, broccoli, rice, and won ton chips. I ordered one with orange chicken, and my husband got one with Kung Pao Chicken. My husband enjoyed his entree, though it was not the best he had ever had. I was a bit disappointed in the orange chicken. The sauce was sweet and tasty, but the chicken itself was hard and stringy. We had an order of vegetarian spring rolls, and they were pretty good. I also got the string beans & eggplant dish, and this was very good. However, it felt out of balance with way more eggplant than string beans, and I found myself wanting more of the string beans. We came on Mother's Day and received free "strawberry juice". The drink was very sweet and artificial tasting. The portions here are quite generous and the prices very reasonable. We had good service as well. There is a robot that wanders around carrying dishes and makes a musical sound that repeats. After a while, it got a bit tiresome to hear, and I was glad to escape it.

Adding Mian to this plaza definitely livened it up, it was so difficult finding parking and then there was an hour wait when we joined the waitlist. We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. My partner had the chengdu zajiang noodles, mild spicy. They were good, the signature dish of the restaurant. I would return, but their spice levels are very inconsistent.

Be prepared for a wait on weekends since it gets crowded. If you're coming with a large group, it's best to arrive before noon. The restaurant is located next to a hotel, and finding the restroom can be confusing since it's inside the hotel. Service is also pretty minimal--they seem understaffed, and I almost always have to flag someone down just to get basics like soy sauce, chili, and water. I don't understand why they don't just have the sauce on the table for guest to dip, but I get that they're saving $ on controlling the cost down. On my most recent visit, the experience really went downhill. Our table had food but no soy sauce, chilli nor water, and when I flagged a waiter multiple times, he got visibly annoyed and irritated. It was frustrating--we shouldn't have to chase someone down repeatedly for basic condiments. Being met with attitude for that honestly left a bad impression. That experience alone makes me reconsider coming back. Good food at a good price is one thing, but poor service--especially to that extent--can really ruin the overall experience.

I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time now as it was always being advertised on…read moreDoorDash. I decided to try it in person as it was less than 10 minutes away from my house. Firstly, I immediately wanted to try their skewers. The grilled chicken skin skewer was my top pick as I love peeling the fat off of fried chicken. I'll admit I was a bit disappointed as it wasn't as crunchy as I expected. Pushing that aside, I still enjoyed it. So if you order that, expect less of a crunch and more of softness. Tasty nonetheless. The beef skewer was delicious. It was very tasty and it went very well with the Fried instant noodles. The fried instant noodles were full of flavor and I truly loved it. I highly recommend this combo. The bone narrow personally was super tasty & I loved the bread it came with. It was honestly the best combo of flavors. 10/10 recommend. Food was tasty and filling 10/10. The guy who was in the front was extremely kind and attentive. He made us feel very welcomed and appreciated. I'll definitely be coming back to eat here again.

The rose lamb was especially tender, and the rest of the skewers were solid across the board. Ordering through a QR code was smooth and convenient, too. Overall, it's a great place to grab some beers and enjoy a variety of skewers.
