Was hungry and was near by so I thought I give it a try. I was told dragon bowl was good. Ordered Viva Caliente because it looked better and I was told my worker that it also has vegitables. Lame... Literally teriyaki chicken with dash of Siracha sauce, green onion and cilantro. Chicken was OK bowl itself was just OK. Nothing special nothing made me go yumm. I'm so glad I walked across the parking lot to eat here. I miss the days of Tokyo Express. I go here about once a week. Yoshi's offers delicious Japanese fast food for a great price. It's healthier than other fast food options and it's nice to support a local chain. I came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and got a curry bowl, which was great. I was in the area again and got to the restaurant about 45 minutes before they closed and they locked the gates so you couldn't get in. Meaning the only way you could order was to do the drive-through. I was a little confused because I'm here around the same time as my son's practice which is nearby and I was here at the same time the last time I ate? Very confusing hours, excessively long drive thru wait times an hour before closing. Maybe the manager left early and the mice decided to play while the cat was away. I really wanted to like this place. I tried their chicken yakisoba & the chicken teriyaki combo. The egg roll was mushy inside and had no flavor. The chicken has a charbroiled flavor but their teriyaki sauce lacked any flavor. The food was at least edible but not much more than that. I did not enjoy anything about this place, even their soda tasted flat. Service was fast and friendly and can't say much about the ambiance because I went through the drive-thru. We were in the area of Cave Creek Road and Cactus Road. I wanted to eat and spotted Yoshi's right on the northwest corner, so I decided to swing by their drive through. I usually order their teriyaki chicken but this time I ordered the teriyaki beef with vegetables. My wife ordered her usual the teriyaki chicken with vegetables. Yoshi's is one of those places to get a quick meal and it is very filling, plus have other dishes to your liking. This one spot is not easy to get to as the only exit is onto Cactus Road. Does make it difficult if you're not headed that direction. Food is decent and they do have large orders, we just ordered the regular bowl. They do charge extra for the vegetables. For what this place is it is a 5 out of 5 for me! We lived in Japan for 12 years and Yoshi's tastes more like the casual food we used to eat than anywhere else I've tried. I mostly get the chicken katsu curry. They put sriracha on it which isn't very traditional, but it tastes great so I leave it on. Even the pork ramen is pretty close to the type of ramen we like. read more

I've been coming to Yoshi's for decades. I worked off of Camelback and usually went to the Yoshi's on Indian School and 24th. Now that I'm fully remote, I frequent the location on Cave Creek and Thunderbird. I usually get the curry chicken. In my humble opinion, their Japanese curry is one of the best I've had. The restaurant is nothing fancy but you get a freshly made, reasonably priced lunch or dinner entree. The Manager at the location on Cave Creek is Liz. I have been eating at Yoshi's on Indian School and Central since the early 1990's when I worked downtown. I loved that place. I was so happy when I discovered Yoshi's had opened a location at Cave Creek and Thunderbird near my home. Unfortunately this has turned out to be the poorest run restaurant in the chain. I have tried this location 7 times, and each time my order has been wrong! The first time I ordered 2 bowls and 2 side salads. We got home with no salads. Okay, so sometimes things get forgotten, right? The next time, I ordered a side a chili powder and sesame seeds with my meal. When I got to the window, neither was in the bag. Upon inquiry, the cashier told me they don't don't have those condiments. Hmmmm, since when? On another visit, my daughter ordered a teriyaki bowl with extra sauce. She wasn't charged for extra sauce, nor was there a side of sauce in the bag, however her bowl was filled full of sauce: it was a teriyaki soup; grossly unedible. Last week we ordered 2 bowls, 1 side salad and 1 crab puff order. We got home with our order, instead of salad we were given steamed vegtables. Again, our order was wrong. Tonight, we tried one more time. Same order, same cashier. I asked the cashier if she got all of my order since she didn't confirm our order. she didn't respind, so I repeated it. She didn't acknowlege my order or repeat it back, just kept saying, anything else? When we got home with our order, we discovered it was missing items again! We were charged for crab puffs, but we did not receive them. I decided to call and speak the the manager. When I asked to speak to a manager, the girl who answered gave the phone to a man who kept saying "Bueno? Bueno? I can't hear you, I can't hear you. I repeatedly asked for his name, which he would not give me, instead was holding a cobversation with someone in the background. I gave up trying to resolve this ongoing issue with the restaurant. Their company website only gives the store phone number, no access to their corporate office or management. To Yoshi's Management: please do something about the staff at that location. Train them again and teach them what a work ethic and customer service is; get rid of the poor performing employees and management and replace them with people with good customer service skills and work ethic; or close that location all together. That location is a poor reflection of your company. So disappointed..... read more

We have been driving by this place for a while and never stopped. We have definitely been missing out. The service is fast, the food is delicious and the price is right! Don't miss out on their $3.50 happy hour teriyaki chicken rice bowl special. Right now it is all day but I believe it is normally 3 to 5 pm. I opted the pay the extra change for all white meat but it was still an incredible deal. This bowl is loaded with chicken and rice and will definitely fill you up.
