We went here with a good friend who said she had been dining here for years. She warned us it was a hole in the wall. But that made us even more excited to try it. Walking in you feel like you are transported back in time. All the old school decor you saw in a Chinese restaurant growing up! Even the music they were playing made it truly authentic. Our tables ordered a few lunch specials. Instantly they brought us egg drop soup. It was probably the best tasting egg drop soup I've ever had. Rich in flavor. Super hot. I would enjoy a large bowl of it, it was that good. Our entrees literally came out in less than 10 minutes. Everything was fresh and hot! Portions large. We were very impressed. Old school style restaurant: If you're old enough to recall the old real Chinese restaurant, the decor is elaborate, very cultural, lots of red, very ornate, just like "A Christmas Story" , for the younger audience. The owner (assuming) lady that greets you & seats you, is.... um very no nonsense & limited customer service skills, kinda like the 'soup nazi'.‍ The food is good, portions & flavor. This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant in America. Dragon Palace has been delicious since before I can remember. This place is the best in Phoenix and it's not even close. Their sweet & sour pork, house chicken, egg drop soup, pu pu platter and honey dipped chicken appetizer are dishes I've ordered hundreds of times from here and have literally never had a bad meal. I love this restaurant more than any other restaurant in Phoenix and would recommend it to anyone. read more

First off this is a review that's long overdue. I'm from California and come to the area 3-4 times a year. Always my go to Chinese place. Great service, price and food. I wasn't the best at taking pictures because I was so hungry and excited. I got the Mongolian beef, sizzling rice soup and shrimp fried rice. Amazing and plenty of portions. We have been coming here as a family for almost 30 years at this point. My cousins wedding reception was in their back dining room. Genuinely still the best Chinese food I have had and I have tried sooo many places around the world. In particular their egg roll, egg drop soup, and Mongolian beef are world class. The service is to the point, but fast and they are really kind people once you get to know them. Head of house is always really sweet to my elderly grandfather and gives him free stuff haha. Has really gone downhill. Used to be my favorite ho to spot. Egg-rolls were greasy, crab puffs were burnt and the fried rice had no veggies. Food quality overall was subpar. Very sad. No good Chinese nearby anymore. read more

Me and my friend Conor spent about two hours here on a business meeting and the food was great. Had egg drop soup, mongolian beef, pupu platter, house special beef, and they even gave us free fried banana for dessert. The portions had a very generous amount of protein which is great for two guys that hut the gym regularly. Also the hot tea was fantastic and they kept refilling the pot and keeping it nice and fresh. Loved the decor also and the music they played. I live nearby and have been to Dragon Palace a few times now and I feel I owe them a good review! The service is always great. The food is just terrific. Not overly sweet or salty like the chain Chinese places. Just great natural flavors with the right amount of seasonings. The Peking dinner for 2 is my favorite so far and is a great way to sample a variety of their items. Pricing is very reasonable and you'll always have some take home left for lunch the next day! I'm definitely becoming a regular there. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It's tucked away in the corner of a small shopping center. This place is sooo good! We ordered the orange chicken and sesame chicken lunch special (which includes fried rice, an egg roll, fried wontons and an egg drop soup) which were amazing! We also ordered the house special chicken and it was good just a little on the salty side, but otherwise good. The eggrolls were nostalgic of a place I loved growing up that burned down, named Fortune Cookie. If you know, you know. Those egg rolls took me back 25+ years. The service was great and the speed of the food coming out was super fast. I asked for an order of the chicken and vegetables to go before we left and they had it out in no time. They are closed between lunch and dinner so make sure you get there when it opens. Definitely coming back to try more! read more

Third try over the last 7 years and we will not forget the experience this time! I remember when they built this place. I always wanted to go but never made the time. I went with a friend who was kind enough to bring me out there and it was a real treat. Is it authentic Chinese? No! Is it old-school Chinese American cuisine? Heck yeah!!! It's really tasty and the flavors were nostalgic and delicious. Are they rude? Maybe, but I'm not there to make friends with the employees. I ordered the Mongolian beef and I wanted it spicy and when it came out, it wasn't spicy at all, and it looked like it wasn't even cooked all the way through so I simply asked if they can cook it a little bit longer and add more spice and they must've just put it in the back and added more sauce on it but didn't cook it longer. When they brought it back out to me, it was warm as if it was just sitting back there to make it appear like they were cooking it. I mentioned to the waitress that it wasn't even hot or spicy, and she was so rude and started yelling at me. Never going back again. read more

Dragon Palace has been our "go to" Chinese takeout since 2010!! The food is always delicious and arrives home incredibly hot even though we live 10 minutes from the restaurant. The 3 entrees we ordered this past weekend (garlic shrimp, moo shu chicken and black mushroom beef) were the best we've ever had!! The 16 -17 extra large shrimp were perfectly tender and cooked in a delicious garlic sauce. The moo shu chicken was exceptional. The black mushroom beef was a dish we had not tried before, but is now on the top of our list. It is a perfect umami experience!!
