Had just missed the lunch options and decided on miso soup and pot stickers. I may or may not be addicted to the #23 Beef and Chicken combo with spicy sauce. It's super good, very filling and doesn't leave me with the regrettable feeling of most Asian food places I frequent. Ordered delivery from these guys through Yelp/GrubHub - never again. I ordered an order of Gyoza, three Arizona Bowls and one Beef Teriyaki Bowl with veggies - I was excitedly introducing my grandmother to Japanese food. When the food arrived promptly, the bags were tied in knots. We opened everything up, and had everything, even the side of veggies, but not the actual Beef Teriyaki and rice (also understand, this was my sister's dinner, and she is convinced she's a curse on delivered food, so... Yeah, not happy). I immediately called the restaurant and told them. The guy on the phone seemed willing to help, until he found out it was the beef that was missing. He spoke to someone else for a moment, then grumpily told me that he's sorry, but there's nothing he could do. He blamed the GrubHub driver, saying that it's their responsibility to "go through all the food they pick up" and make sure it's all there. He also implied that the driver might have kept it. Um... Excuse me? First of all, I would be furious if delivery drivers went through my food. That's gross. It's the RESTAURANT that is supposed to make sure the order is complete before sending it off with the messenger. Messengers do not go through their cargo, they're just messengers. Plus the bags had knots in them. Second of all, I always use Yelp/GrubHub for delivery, and all the drivers have been super nice and professional. Our delivery guy was great. I told the guy in the phone that I wasn't trying to be rude, but... This is on them. They gave us the side of veggies, so I'm sure the driver counted boxes and thought everything was in order, but the restaurant didn't complete our order. The guy dismissed me and said it wasn't their problem, I needed to call GrubHub - and he acted like he didn't care about the delivery service, like it was a burden to even be working with them. I did call them, right away. GrubHub put me on hold - they were going to send another driver if the restaurant could make up the food. When he got back in the office with me he apologized, said the restaurant refused because they were closing on Friday night, and he would refund my card instead. I can't even begin here. GrubHub was great, they tried their best. This restaurant customer service was unacceptable. Sure, I got my money back, but that didn't get my sister her dinner, and now my grandmother is convinced that all Japanese food is bad (crazy, I know, but she's 90, so... It is what it is.) If it was me at the restaurant, I would have immediately had the grill make up the food and ask the customer to call GrubHub and send another driver, and throw in a coupon for next time or something. I would care that my establishment failed to provide it's customers what they asked for. But you know, it's a Friday night, so who cares about customers? Nevermind that I ordered delivery because my Grandmother is crippled and can't go in to the restaurant in person. And if it's such an inconvenience, such a terrible burden to work to increase your customers and, oh, I don't know, get more money (because I know for a fact I've seen the line going out the door there before in person, and had to eat elsewhere) then... Why offer this service? They don't have to, they could be a regular restaurant, and only serve the people who come in the door. They choose to use the service. Yogi's is my cheap/quick low carb paradise! Their low carb teriyaki bowls are kick ass!! A gigantic serving of tasty, lean meats over a bed of steamed cabbage, carrots, broccoli, and zucchini! Woo! If rice is your thing, you can get some nice sticky white rice, or well prepared brown rice, too! Another thing I love at Yogi's is the Arizona Bowl. It's basically like a big bowl of California roll fixins!!! Their Sushi is quite good too!! Their California roll is always fantastic, and they put the SPICY back in Spicy Tuna. I've been a Yogi's fan for years, and the food has always been consistently well prepared, and extremely fresh. Finally a teriyaki bowl place that does it right. Nothing against Samuri Sam's, but Yogis is a bit better in my opinion. Yogis' menu is strait forward and clearly lists the options available. The place is clean and the staff is fast and friendly. The food is also very reasonably priced. I was very impressed with their different bowl/plate/salad options. You are able to order some teriyaki veggies, chicken and/or beef pretty much however you want it. Extra meat, over lettuce, over veggies, brown rice, white rice, etc. Anyway, when I visit a place like this my desires are simple. The quality of the all white meat chicken chicken teriyaki entree I ordered was great, it had that outer, flavorful, crisp grilled char but still maintained the inner meat moistness that should be provided and expected...as it was. You don't have to request nor pay an up-charge for white meat here cause that is how it is served son, all white.The sauce was good, really good. I, shockingly liked the regular sauce versus the spicy sauce. This is not normal of me. Could have been a moment, could have been an awakening to what I now consider a sweet tooth. Some dishes are a hit; some are a miss, personally for me. Their grilled chicken teriyaki has always been good but their beef is a bit dry. I usually order a large combination teriyaki and it's enough for 2 servings or 2 people. Their side of gyoza is crispy and delicious. It's one of my favorites here. Today I ordered shrimp tempura udon, and the udon came with raw broccoli, cabbage and carrots, which I thought was a weird add-on for a Japanese-style udon. And raw vegetables? They can do more steaming. The shrimp tempura was solid ... just make sure to ask for the shrimp tempura on the side or else they will come out soggy. I'm not one to write reviews, but this time I couldn't let it slide. We've ordered from this location quite a few times and we like the food, however they've gotten our orders wrong a couple times before, but we've just delt with it and ate it anyways. This time before I called in our order, my husband specifically told me to make sure they know he doesn't want veggies in his food. So I called and asked to not put the veggies in the food but to put them on the side in a separate container (because I will usually eat the veggies). I had my husband go pick up the food and when we got home and pulled it out, lo and behold there were veggies in his food AND they charged me for an extra side of veggies. My husband was pissed, so I told him I'd go back and take care of it. A guy took my order over the phone, and at the front when I came in he and another girl were there. I told him my issue with the girl by his side, I could tell he was newer that's for sure, and the girl basically took over the situation. After telling them what I ordered and them getting it wrong again and charging me for extra veggies, the girl said "Well that's not what the ticket says." Excuse me?? I did not write what was on that ticket, how is that my fault?? She grabbed the food while rolling her eyes and had them remake the bowl. I thanked them 3 times. The entire time they did not once apologized for any of it. After getting the food, I could definitely tell they shorted me (I had ordered my husband a large) and sure enough, my regular size bowl had more in it than his large. Safe to say, we will not be returning. It's not that hard to be nice to a customer, I wasn't being rude, I came in to get what I ordered. When I got up to the cashier I explained I just needed a moment because I was having difficulty and all she did was sigh with attitude and slide a menu at me. For such a small place, they do have a decent sized sushi list. Prices are about what you'd expect for sushi so it's a step above Kyoto Bowl without going overboard. If you're not getting sushi, about all you can expect otherwise would be some kinda teriyaki bowl, unless you plan on getting full on miso soup and edamame. The sushi was absolutely fresh. Took my daughter here to impress her. On 5/17/18, we ate there at approximately 4:10 p.m. My daughter had fried tofu on white rice and steamed vegetables. Last night a few friends and I went to yogis for sushi. We weren't sure what to expect but we thought why not? I ordered 4 rolls for myself and a few, first the cook scoffed loud enough for me to hear and said I don't like making sushi. Well dude it's just a job you get paid $10th/hr to do, maybe you shouldn't say that to the customers face? The rolls themselves were HUGE, which wouldn't be too much of an issue if they didn't fall apart. They did not stay together at all, they were very poorly made. Sure I wasn't expecting perfection but they were difficult to eat. The quality of the fish tasted low and there was an excessive amount of cream cheese. My two rolls were still $20, I expected them to taste quite a bit better. My friends rolls were also large and fell apart. They seemed rushed, there were 3 other people in the store, there was no rush. We have agreed to not return here again, it was not worth the money. Just had my first bad experience here. The counter girl, Courteney from the receipt was rushing people out before 9pm. She turned off the TV denied the people after me the majority of the menu, then completely denied the people after that. She then dimmed the lights. The food is phenomenal here.
