Atmosphere
Steven F.

I've been on the hunt for good sushi in this area and decided to pop in with a family member. The atmosphere is really authentic and fresh, with various types of Asian snacks you can buy and a ramen bar where you can make Instant Noodles yourself (for a hefty price of $6). However, it was around 85 You order at the counter and pick up your food when it's ready. The woman at the front was very friendly and helpful when deciding what we wanted to order. We went for an order of California Rolls, I got an Orange Chicken Bento Box, and my mom got the teriyaki chicken. The food took about 40 minutes to come out, which was disappointingly long for a place labeled "Express". The food, however, was pretty tasty. We weren't overly impressed with the California Rolls but both of our entrees were good. My orange chicken was crispy and the bento box comes with soup, gyozas, grilled vegetables, salad, and rice. Overall, it's a cute spot but I'm not sure I'd come back due to the wait time and ridiculously hot temperature of the building.

went in to place an order the restaurant was empty on a Sunday afternoon. I'll just be to the point i probably wouldn't come back here it's like a 6/10 overall Gyoza was good but it's hard to mess them up Salon roll taste fishy and you can tell it's not high quality fresh salmon Vegas roll is also very blah with hardly any salmon i hate that the pieces aren't cut evenly bc why is the end gigantic The eel sauce was chunky??? And doesn't taste like eel sauce weird This didn't hit the spot skkkiiippp

Literally... I would eat here everyday if I could. The food is to die for. There are 3 things that I love about sushi avenue.. listen closely! 1. Quick and wonderful customer service 2. INCREDIBLE food! 3. The atmosphere... There is so much culture in this restaurant. The shelves are lined with Korean snacks and goodies! Even if you don't buy them, they are fun to look at as you wait for your food! ONE MORE THING. They have a RAMEN BAR! You select the type of ramen you want, then you put it on the machine, and it cooks the ramen in about two minutes, then your done! Quick, affordable, and delicious ramen!

Phill roll - salmon , cream cheese , avocado . Came with ginger and wasabi

Philli roll was so soft and fresh ! Perfection , plating was a little messy but other than that 9/10 but than aging I got a basic roll :)

Sushi Rock & Grill - Sunshine Roll

I had my first Sushi Rock & Grill experience last night and it will definitely not be my last!…read more On the hunt for something healthy for dinner, my son requested a california roll and my daughter quickly followed that request with one of her own: "a salmon roll and a cucumber roll." I did a quick search on my Yelp app and saw that SR&G was not far from their pickleball training and decided that a nigiri bento box sounded good to me too... I went online to place an order on their website and was also pleasantly surprised with the prices - it turns out that this meal would not be that much more than what I would normally spend on dinner at a nearby fast food restaurant, yet so much healthier! The ordering process was easy and allowed me to pay upon arrival. I went to pick it up about 30 minutes later and everything looked and tasted delicious. Service was friendly and everything was packed well with the condiments and chopsticks needed for our order. The restaurant itself is in a shopping center and has a casual and welcoming ambiance. As noted above, I'm sure I'll be back soon!

The sushi quality is nice and fresh, and the servers are kind and attentive. I also love that the solo fish rolls like the salmon roll or yellowtail are huge! I took off a star due to the lady with the silver chain around her neck, who was handling seating people/to go orders up front. She had an attitude towards me and other customers, and I heard her distinctly yell at one of the waitresses because she made a mistake. Not a good look for your business to have such a disgruntled worker.

What started as a simple visit has turned into a true appreciation for the craft happening behind the bar. This is not just a place to grab sushi--it's a place where you can slow down, pay attention, and really experience it. I've now been in a couple of times and had the chance to sit at the bar and get to know Misu and Han, along with my server Rose. The hospitality here is genuine and warm without ever feeling forced. By my second visit, they remembered me, asked about what I'd tried before, and guided me through the meal in a way that felt personal and thoughtful. The food speaks for itself. Standouts for me: * The halibut -- incredibly silky, clean, and delicately balanced (one of the best bites I've had in a long time) * The otoro -- beautifully marbled and absolutely melted in the mouth * The king scallop -- lightly kissed with heat, layered with subtle citrus, a luxurious texture and flavour to match... easily one of the most memorable bites I've had anywhere * The saba (mackerel) -- bright, clean, and beautifully presented with that signature shimmering skin; not something everyone appreciates, but done exceptionally well here What really impressed me is the balance. Nothing felt heavy-handed. Sauces, citrus, and wasabi were used with intention--not to cover the fish, but to elevate it. I also appreciated the pacing. Sitting at the bar, taking things a few pieces at a time, and pairing it with a simple bottle of sake turned the entire meal into an experience rather than just dinner. If you're willing to sit at the bar, trust the chefs, and let the meal unfold, Yanagi will absolutely reward you. This has quickly become my neighborhood spot, and I'm looking forward to many more visits. Highly recommended.

Food quality: 8.5/10 Some nit-picks, I had the wagu skewers, one of which was too chewy to eat. I also ordered the set of 5 nigiri, chefs choice, and the quality of these was only medium. Ambiance: 8/10 Very pretty restaurant, comfortable, nice lighting. Cleanliness: 10/10 All of the staff seemed to be very attentive to the cleanliness of the restaurant, going above and beyond. Menu: 9/10 Good selection and variety. Specials and desert were interesting. Service: 6/10 After I explained that one of our wagu skewers was all gristle, too chewy to eat, our waitress said she would alert the chef. I wrongfully assumed she would remove this from the bill. She did not remove it from our bill and did not bring us a new skewer. This skewer was ~20$ by itself. She also did not seem very engaged and did not seem very knowledgeable about the menu. She didn't seem concerned with our experience, considering the cost of our meal. I did not enjoy her attitude. Final notes: We were seated at the sushi bar, what an experience! I would definitely come Again, given I had a different waitress. It is very interesting watching the kitchen and the great care taken to prepare the food. If you have the opportunity to check this spot out, it is definitely worth it. With such a large menu, you would certainly be able to come multiple times to get a full experience.

When I walked in, I was promptly directed to where I should go so I could place a takeout order. The genuine courtesy of the staff here was just what I needed after a long day.
