Visited here with my family and half of us are from the conveyor belt (all you can eat) and half of us ordered from the menu. Some of the food from the belt was cold (chicken tonkatsu) and had been sitting for a while obviously (avocado was brown). But majority of the sushi looked fresh and was very delicious. The food ordered from the menu was great! Lots of creative and fun rolls. The staff was kind and service was quick. We were a little nervous because we were the only group in there, but it was a good place to go with our group. My only note is to be careful with some of the food on the conveyor belt. Big Sushi is a staple for the hubby and I. We love revolving sushi because the plates are typically small so you can try a variety of rolls in one sitting. Big Sushi's plates are super fresh, portioned perfectly at 2-4 pieces per plate, high quality, and reasonably priced. The tamago (sweet egg), crunchy onion, and rainbow roll are my favorites! The service is always really good, we don't typically need much aside from maybe one refill on drinks, but they're always close by when we're ready to check out and very friendly. This place is pretty nice to take people who've never been to a rotating sushi place. It's pretty cheap for a lot of sushi. Been here twice with family. They normally play classical music while you eat and there's typically not too many people here. The people are cute and kind. The waitress will only check up on you once to get your drink order while you're there. I came earlier in the day both times and we're normally the only people there for awhile until we were about to leave. It's very laid back, nice place to grab a bite and talk. Music isn't crazy loud. I went to Snowtime right next-door to get some soft serve ice cream and stumbled upon big sushi while I was there. Lucky for me I found this place because I think it's my next favorite sushi spot. It's got a conveyor belt of several small plates that are all reasonably priced between $1.50 to $3.00. It was happy hour when I went so, all the plates that were $2.50 were $2.00. Some plates were warm like the tempura shrimp, fried rice while others were nice and chilled like the California rolls, seaweed salad, and several other items. I liked that they had a lot of California roll variations. They had some California rolls with a crunchy topping and others with something else on top. Therefore, I liked it. I think I will go back again soon when I am feeling like sushi again. Like most sushi places, they had ginger in a bowl on the table. I really wanted to love you big sushi, especially since you are right next to snowtime. Unfortunately, especially compared to other revolving sushi places i've been to around here, this spot misses the mark a bit. I will say, the place was extremely clean when we arrived. It's a cute space, but not terribly large. This may prove to be an issue since you can only serve so many people at once. Service was friendly and we promptly received drinks. For being called "Big Sushi" there is nothing big about the items on the belt. Rolls are usually a small 3 pieces and the nigiri that does appear on the belt are tiny cuts with a minuscule amount of rice. The trade off is that the plates are pretty cheap, a lot of $2 and $1.50 options, but I just didn't see the value. I much rather pay an extra $ .50 - $1 per plate for better items. The rolls were all similar, mostly consisting of crab filler, tempura shrimp or cucumber. The fish was okay but I didn't feel as confident about its taste and appearance as I have at other places. The cards telling you which roll had what in it also just gave you the roll name and didn't break down everything that was in/on them. I know we have eyes but sometimes you can't tell exactly what is in something. Not a big deal but just something I noticed that other places usually do. Also, soda comes in cans so no free refills. They are only $1.50 though so if you don't usually need refills at restaurants that's nice. Overall, I wasn't thrilled with anything I ate. We ended up leaving after only spending about $10. My husband kept referring to this place as the carousel sushi bar which conjured up images of little nigiri and sashimi bobbing up and down on a merry-go-round, chasing each other in a circle. I would definitely go on a sushi carousel but the fish on the carousel would mysteriously go missing and I would have a full stomach. Big Sushi is currently holding a grand opening special that ends in June where all their plates are $1.50. otherwise prices range from $1.50 to $3.50 on the conveyor belt. They also have a separate ordering menu. We stuck with the stuff on the conveyor belt. The sushi itself consists mainly of rolls. Most rolls either had some minced spicy tuna, spicy salmon mixture or imitation crab mix in it. There were some nigiri on the conveyor belt, sliced as thin as you can get away with for serving. One feature of this conveyor belt sushi restaurant that is different from others I tried is that they also offer Korean fried chicken. I tried what looked like a big piece of chicken with an accompanying gyoza to find out that most of the chicken was bone and not a lot of meat but at $1.50 what do you expect? Service was good and plates were taken away as needed. For lunch our total ended up being around $20 for two. The one thing I found weird was that periodically the conveyor belt would stop for a few minutes at a stand still. I've never encountered sushi conveyor belt traffic before but there's a first for everything! Overall it was a decent meal. Small selection, fair pricing, but AWESOME location. The corner setting allows for the possibility of trio-restaurant exploration event. Although the conveyer belt is small and limited, the variety is modest and plentiful. Flavors and expansive , as new selections pop up and delight the mind with its diversity. The conveyor belt (or sushi-go-round) as some people refer to it as, only goes down in one line. I've noticed that a lot of Yelpers are judging Big Sushi by its flavor and taste quality solely on raw fish. I could eat my body weight in sushi so if you're serving up big sushi, count me in! Big Sushi opened today. Woohoo! Grand opening specials, babie! Finally a conveyor belt sushi place close to home. It's like a never-ending catwalk of sexy fish waiting to be devoured. We had a variety of different kinds of nigiri and they were all pretty satisfying. I especially enjoyed the salmon and the halibut. You can order more nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and handrolls off the menu. The size of the rolls are on the smaller side so don't come here looking for more than just a snack. They also sell alcohol here as well. It's bright, it's clean, and the people are friendly! They have a doorway straight into Snowtime and from what the waitress told us, they're family to the owners of Gogi and Snowtime. It makes sense! I should've known better when I walked in on a Saturday evening at 6pm and only one person was eating. Sushi was not terrible but you know it's been there revolving for a while. My mom noticed this restaurant after shopping at LeeLee so we decided to try it out for lunch. I have been to several conveyer belt type sushi joints in AZ so I kind of knew what to expect. Big Sushi kind of disappoints with the lack of selection. The sushi selection seems to be the California roll, Philly, and old looking nigiri. The rolls are mainly rice btw. If a restaurant is taking place of the gelato shop that was here, then it better be good. Well I'd say it's a fair trade for this revolving sushi spot. All sushi dishes are only $1.50 or $2.00! No joke. I mean, you aren't going to get the most phenomenal pieces of sushi, but to get some tasty rolls for cheap, this really is a decent place. There are about 3 or 4 rolls per plate. They have quite a variety of rolls too. The thing I like about this revolving sushi is the lay out of the belt. The belt goes up and down right through the middle of the seating so both sides of the tables have access to the sushi as it goes up and down. This way if you see something you like, you don't have to wait til it gets all the way around to your seat. You just reach right over. Also if you missed it the first time then you have a second chance. Or if you are just a slow decider, and you see something you are interested in, then you have probably a minute or two before it comes back around to make up your mind. This might be useful for many of the indecisive people out there. The items tasted pretty fresh. One way to judge the sushi is if the rice is getting dried out or hard...avoid that. Also if the fish is not most or dried, then it's been sitting for a while. I didn't experience this here. Not sure if the belt is refrigerated, but it did not seem cooled. I'll take that as a sign that they go through the dishes fairly quickly. My only critique is that the segments of the revolving belt can use some detail cleaning. A lot of crumbs and crud has accumulated on every crease of the belt's joint. Don't look if you still want to have an appetite. Final Thought: I'd come back. read more

A solid 3 stars! That pretty much means ... average. Got there at an off time for lunch, 2:30, had the place almost to myself. Took a seat, server brought me hot tea, wasabi and ginger. Watched the goods go by, snagged a spring roll, which was pretty good. Tasted fresh. Grabbed a tempura shrimp, room temp, lost it's crisp, but not bad. Shrimp nigiri next, pretty good. Some kind of spicy combo roll, pretty good. Finished with a cucumber salad. Only got one tea refill. Place is clean and has nice booths. Got filled up, no fuss, 1/2 hour, $11. Went there today 6/19/2024 with a friend for my birthday, and food was alright like usual, after we were almost done I went too get some ginger from our table , and we found 3 bugs not 1 not 2 but the big 3 !!!!!! you can tell they don't NOT check or clean the container of where the ginger is sitting ,We told the server what we found and told him we were not paying for our food ! My son was so happy to find this place because it reminded him of Genki in Hawaii. This is a conveyor style restaurant with booth seating options. Big sushi is brand new and I've already been here twice. It's a small restaurant situated in the strip mall off Dobson and Warner. What appealed to me most was the rotating sushi bar. I'm such a kid when it comes to innovative ways to dish out food and while I've been to other rotating sushi bars, I definitely wanted to try this place out. The restaurant is small as I mentioned before and it has a open door that connects to the snow ice shop next door. Pretty cool if you want to slide right over there for a dessert after your meal. The seating inside are all booths. There aren't any flexible seating which causes problems with wheelchair accesibility. The food is okay. Not blown away by it at all. You really need to feel the fish to see if it's warm before getting any fried food. I pulled a shrimp tempura off the conveyor belt and it was cold. Probably because it went through the belt for a while before it was picked up. Portions are small and you'll get about 2-3 pieces per plate. If you don't see the type you are craving you can place an order off the menu, too.
