Salmon Sashimi, Spicy Scallop Nigiri
Anne N.

My first time dining here, and I was pretty impressed. It's a smaller restaurant, but it didn't feel cramped. They have happy hour all day, which is a good deal. The rolls were tasty and the service was friendly and professional. Their signature rolls were bigger than traditional, which was a pleasant surprise! I'm always a fan of the Las Vegas roll, and theirs hit the spot. I especially loved their mango roll; the mango sauce is *chef's kiss*. The salmon sashimi was good as well. Decent sized cuts. The roll menu is quite large, so it was hard to choose only a few for dinner. Will certainly be back to try more~

Sushi Ave.... Sorry major mark missed on the Crazy Lobster roll. Also on the menu, "all day happy hour" and you get a regular menu. But only order off the happy hour menu? I was so confused. Please make 1 menu, stop the confusion! Crazy Lobster roll, says " crab mix, lobster tail, avocado roll....What was crazy, I am not sure it was lobster, langostino lobster (crayfish) maybe. Is was not a lobster tail it was more like the spicy crab mix chopped to death I am sure it was spoiled. I couldn't eat it. Now there was a star of the show, the mix tempura: hot, crispy and delicious! Edamame was also a disappointment, look at the pictures. Cleaned? No. Prepped? No. Flavor? No. Hawaiian shrimp....nothing Hawaiian about this fried shrimp dish. There was a sewer smell toward the back. Faint but there. They possibly had the sushi counter but took that out, bottles are covering the sushi station. I fely like I was down a Sushi Alley in the alley...

Happy Hour sushi

Nice little sushi spot Gilbert. They have happy hour daily, but it's not the greatest happy hour prices compared to other sushi locations. The sushi is fresh, decent size portions and service is good. Not the biggest restaurant but the food yummy. Definitely worth the stop of you are in the area.

Hello hello, Welcome to the New Year and my first review of the year, this is our second trip here at Sushi Ave. Jen & I were out doing some shopping and Jen suggested we get a bite to eat so this was our choice, I had the Spicy Ramen Noodle Bowl which is very good and not spicy at all, it is a good portion size and has all the goodies in it Yum, Jen had the Las Vegas & Lobster Roll and was delicious, the service was good and asked a couple times if anything was needed . The restaurant was nice & clean and well decorated. Staff was good and continued to do a great job on checking their guest. So with that stop by and give them a try, FYI the weekends are busy and packed. Enjoy

Spicy tuna roll and Las Vegas roll

I've heard good things about this spot and finally tried it out and it did not disappoint! I ordered for carry out and got a spicy tuna roll and a Las Vegas roll. The spicy tuna roll actually had some good spice so that was a huge plus! The Vegas roll was great and had that lovely crunch to it. When I arrived to pick up my food, it was decently crowded. You can tell people enjoy coming here and I can't wait to dine in! The dining area looked very nice and there were families enjoying dinner as well! Staff was attentive and helpful. I'll be coming back to enjoy their happy house menu as well!

They have a cute little parking lot right out front. The location is a little funny right next to an auto part shop and a gas station. The restaurant inside is medium to small. It was cozy. They had lanterns at the front and looked like pickled ginseng and other roots in jars at the front. Their service is quick to greet you and let you take your time to look at the menu. I liked being able to take my time to look at the menu. They were ready to take our order right after we finished looking over the menu. We got their beef bulgogi and rice entree that came with miso soup and salad. The salad seemed fresh with a soy sauce dressing. It was just lettuce. The miso soup didn't have much seaweed in it. It also didn't have any tofu in it. It wasn't hot and it got cold early in the meal. We also had the spicy tuna and the dragon roll. The dragon roll was good with avocado on top of a slice, tuna on top of a slice, salmon on top of a slice, yellow tail on top of a slice, shrimp on top of a slice. The California roll portion tasted fine too. The spicy tuna tasted a little off. I liked the ginger that tasted typical of ginger. The food came out fairly quickly. I thought it was good but not enough to come back for this particular set of choices. My expectations might have been too high having had a entree at their sister restaurant. If I were in the area or a friend wanted to come here, I would get the dragon roll.

Salmon Sashimi, Spicy Scallop Nigiri, spicy yellowtail handroll

I have been trying new places around me for sushi, and Sushi Avenue was on my list because of the good reviews it had. I went in for lunch on a Monday. It's right next to an autoparts store and there is plenty of parking for the two businesses there. It was not busy while I was there, only a few other people (I am sure lunch time is slower). The hostess, who is also the waitress told me I could sit anywhere. She brought me the menus and then walked away, without asking if I wanted anything to drink. Once she came back, I ordered my food and my drinks. For my first order, I got salmon sashimi, spicy yellowtail handroll, and spicy scallop nigri. The salmon sashimi was delicious, very fresh. Now the spicy at this restaurant, is very very different for me than any other sushi place I have been to. It was more like a paste (thicker), and it was really spicy. It was too spicy for me and I honestly didn't love the flavor of the spicy either. I ate the spicy scallops and the spicy yellowtail fast, to get the heat out of the way quicker. I needed to order something non spicy to get a better sense for the other things on the menu. The waitress just brought me the check when she saw I was finished and I had to ask her to see the menu because I was going to order more. I ordered the rainbow roll (which is on there happy hour menu!) and the crunch lollipop roll (with no sauce). These rolls were much more me! The rainbow roll was a good size and simple and fresh. And i really enjoyed the fried roll with all the fish in it (that it was something different than just a fried las vegas roll). It was a little hard to find some things on the menu that didn't have any spice... I was just nervous to pick anything that had the spice at that point, so I am glad I found and loved the two rolls I ordered. Overall, there sushi is good, and they have a great happy hour menu! But the spicy flavor and the service just wasn't what I would like.

Sushi Ave Roll and New York Roll

Second or third time having sushi Ave and I'm always happy with my order. I have only had delivery so I cannot comment on the service or ambiance but the quality of the food is great. I ordered the New York roll, sushi ave roll and chicken wings. Both rolls were very flavorful, creamy, and salty. I love the crunch and creaminess of the cream cheese and sauces they use. Every bite was delicious. The chicken wings were nice and crunchy after I threw them in the toaster over. Very good quality and tasty with the breading they use. I enjoyed the dipping sauce it came with as it gave the wings a whole new burst of flavor.

Vegas rolls and orange chicken.

Great place, haven't been in years but still very good. You have to have a lot of Sushi options and this is a good one!

I did a quick search on my Yelp app and saw that SR&G was not far from their pickleball training and decided that a nigiri bento box sounded good to me too... I went online to place an order on their website and was also pleasantly surprised with the prices - it turns out that this meal would not be that much more than what I would normally spend on dinner at a nearby fast food restaurant, yet so much healthier! The ordering process was easy and allowed me to pay upon arrival. I went to pick it up about 30 minutes later and everything looked and tasted delicious. Service was friendly and everything was packed well with the condiments and chopsticks needed for our order. The restaurant itself is in a shopping center and has a casual and welcoming ambiance. As noted above, I'm sure I'll be back soon!

She had an attitude towards me and other customers, and I heard her distinctly yell at one of the waitresses because she made a mistake. What started as a simple visit has turned into a true appreciation for the craft happening behind the bar. This is not just a place to grab sushi--it's a place where you can slow down, pay attention, and really experience it. I've now been in a couple of times and had the chance to sit at the bar and get to know Misu and Han, along with my server Rose. The hospitality here is genuine and warm without ever feeling forced. By my second visit, they remembered me, asked about what I'd tried before, and guided me through the meal in a way that felt personal and thoughtful. The food speaks for itself. Standouts for me: * The halibut -- incredibly silky, clean, and delicately balanced (one of the best bites I've had in a long time) * The otoro -- beautifully marbled and absolutely melted in the mouth * The king scallop -- lightly kissed with heat, layered with subtle citrus, a luxurious texture and flavour to match... easily one of the most memorable bites I've had anywhere * The saba (mackerel) -- bright, clean, and beautifully presented with that signature shimmering skin; not something everyone appreciates, but done exceptionally well here What really impressed me is the balance. Nothing felt heavy-handed. Sauces, citrus, and wasabi were used with intention--not to cover the fish, but to elevate it. I also appreciated the pacing. Sitting at the bar, taking things a few pieces at a time, and pairing it with a simple bottle of sake turned the entire meal into an experience rather than just dinner. If you're willing to sit at the bar, trust the chefs, and let the meal unfold, Yanagi will absolutely reward you. This has quickly become my neighborhood spot, and I'm looking forward to many more visits. Highly recommended.
